Heartwarming cosy Christmas book

I love that this is a sequel t Lake Mistletoe and you can still be connected to all the original characters, who I have to admit I didn't want to let go of.
Amber writes a truly heartwarming story of love and happiness and portrays the dilemmas of modern and independent women.
This is a quick read and it took me just a few hours over three nights to read.
It left me feeling utterly loved up and warm and cosy. The description of Lake Mistletoe and the Gingerbread Inn make you feel as if you are right there in its magical wonderland.
If you are looking forward to a cosy, quick and uplifting read, this is the perfect book for you.
I am new to Amber Kelly, however will definitely be reading more of her books soon

Having read Lake Mistletoe last year i was so happy when i found out that Ms.Kelly would be writing another Christmas book! I started anticipating this one more and more with every teaser. I picked it up and got right back into the Lake Mistletoe world. I enjoyed it so very much!

Hannah and Bran's journey pulled me in and didn't let go! Hannah turned her heartbreak and created a career for herself. As she heads to Lake Mistletoe for vacation and to visit family, she has quite the memorable first meeting with Bran. Will Hannah find the magic of love again and the season? and can she open her heart to Bran?

I really liked the different way Hannah and Bran were brought into each other's lives. I related to Hannah. The chemistry between Hannah and Bran was fantastic! I adored them! I loved that both of them had me in the Christmas feels! Bran stole my heart!

It made this book loving heart of mine so happy to head back to Lake Mistletoe and the Gingerbread Inn and getting reunite with characters!

With Smitten In Lake Mistletoe, Ms.Kelly has created a great Christmas read that brought all kinds of feels and kept me glued to my kindle! Her writing pulls me in. I love the way Lake Mistletoe and Smitten In Lake Mistletoe got me in the heart! 💗🎄❄

This book was fine, but I thought that it could have been a bit longer.

I liked Bran and Hannah, but I wanted to see more scenes where they interact. They went on a few dates, but I wanted to see them interacting as a couple and interacting with the other characters. Also, I thought that Hannah could have been a bit more developed as there’s not much to her character, other than she wants to be promoted and doesn’t believe in happy endings.

There were some side characters, but it felt like I didn’t really know who was who as they weren’t developed or shown enough. Although, that could be my fault as I haven’t read the first book in this series.

I liked this book, but it was really quick.

I have read everything published by Amber Kelly and love how she writes small town romances with so much heart. The characters are always so relatable and people you would want to know in real life. In Lake Mistletoe, a little valley in Idaho, Hannah our heroine, is need of a vacation from her busy life in Las Vegas as and event planner, and heads to Lake Mistletoe to visit her funny and free spirited aunt.

Willa, the owner of the Gingerbread Inn welcomes her with open arms and it is there that she meets
Brannigan Prince. And their meet cute is one I have never read before! It’s funny not funny what happens to him, and it was love at first sight for him at least. Bran is best friends and business partners with her cousin Keller, and of course they keep running into each other.

The story progresses at a perfect pace as you get to know the characters so well, their little quirks and background, as well as the beautiful town. The author writes to make you feel as if you are there and makes you wish Lake Mistletoe was really a place we could visit.

Hannah had been engaged before and even though was a successful wedding planner, was guarded to ever give her heart away again. I admired her business savvy and loved the pages where she was giving her aunt and others in town business ideas to help them grow and be successful. She was smart and funny, and I loved how sincere and honest she was with her apologies and feelings.

Bran was a gifted artist, carpenter and cabinetmaker and I love a man who can build things! And when he is sexy and sweet on top of it, well that just makes me swoon. He was patient with Hannah and such an all around great guy. I loved how they got to know each other, physically and emotionally. She was a bit in awe that he could be real, but had a real life to go back to in Las Vegas. She was needed back to work but was also enjoying her extended vacation and had a decision to make. She only knew Bran for a short time, is it worth giving up all that she worked for at home and take a chance on love?

You bet it is and this steamy romance will warm your heart and make you a believer too! I can’t wait for more from this fabulous little town!

Amber Kelly gives us stories with endearing characters with a sweet plot that tends to win a place in our hearts. “Smitten in Lake Mistletoe” is no exception. Hannah Whitmar loves her job, lives to organize events and is very good at it, however, this demands a lot from her so she takes a well-deserved vacation in Lake Mistletoe at the inn her family runs; without imagining that it will be the journey of her life. Brannigan Prince who is Keller's best friend, Hannah's cousin, is helping out with some repairs to the place when one of the most epic encounters I've ever read about occurs. Hannah and Bran develop an instant connection, which gradually develops into complicity, friendship, and finally something more.

Hannah is a character that I really liked because she is a woman who shows the complexity and reality of many women. She is hardworking, enthusiastic but after a love disappointment, she thinks that love is not for her. She is cautious and a bit suspicious but Bran manages to change her mind. And it is that this man is everything she needed: he is charming, smart, sweet, sexy and despite everything he always has a positive attitude. The development of their relationship is slow burn but believe me it is totally worth it.

What a cute holiday read!

If you’re looking for an upbeat read that’s similar to a hallmark style movie, the story of Hannah and Bran is the one for you

Hannah is an over worked, under appreciated wedding planner who’s had bad luck at love. When she ends up taking an extended vacation around Christmas time, she ends up finding more than she bargained for with this vacation.

This story is definitely a slow burn read ( about 68% mark) but so worth it! You feel the tension like you’re living it live with the characters and I love books like this.

It’s going to make you smile, laugh, and shake your head in the best way possible

Bran & Hannah.

These two absolutely drew me in from the very start.

From their violent but funny meet cute to their smitten and sweet ending. I was completely captivated.

I loved their whole journey.

Even if Bran was blinded majority of the time. IFYKYK

I am absolutely eating these Christmas novellas up.

They deliver the right amount of spice, longing, growth, sweetness and Christmas spirit.

They really just hit differently and I’m not mad about it.

I don't think I have found a book by Ms. Kelly that I haven't liked. This may be a quick read but know it was fantastic. Hannah was devastated 4 years ago and needed magic. Taking a trip to see her family is exactly what she needed. Little did she know that she needed Bran in her life. Let's just that man was yummy. He was always positive and that is what kept me invested. This man was the total package. Again this may have been a novella but it had everything you need in a romance book.

I fell in love myself with Bran and Hannah, especially with the laughter out loud lamp scene.

They meet under unusual circumstances while Hannah is visiting Lake Mistletoe. I liked how the story didn’t feel rushed and that the characters actually took the time to get to know one another.

Amanti delle atmosfere cozy e del Natale venite a me!
Cosa ne dite se oggi vi invito a tornare nelle dolci atmosfere della festa più magica dell’anno?
Vi porto a Lake Mistletoe, una piccola cittadina dello stato dell’Idaho “a misura d’uomo”, dove tutti si conoscono e dove lo spirito del Natale alberga ovunque, nei luoghi meravigliosi, nei paesaggi innevati, nelle strade del paese e nel cuore di una comunità che ha sempre un sorriso da condividere, un abbraccio da donare, e dove nessuno è lasciato solo, ma dove ogni abitante partecipa per contribuire al benessere comune. Avvolta da un manto candido, illuminata da decorazioni scintillanti e animata da tradizioni consolidate che si rinnovano ogni anno, la cittadina appare come una scenografia da favola, in cui l’incanto è parte stessa della quotidianità. Un posto idilliaco che esprime in tutto la magia e lo spirito natalizio, quello più autentico e sincero.  

«Natale non è un giorno solo, è un’intera stagione. Un periodo dell’anno in cui si mette tutto il resto da parte e si festeggiano le cose davvero importanti della vita», dice lui. «Forse qui», ribatto. «Rimani nei paraggi, vedrai che inizierai ad apprezzarlo anche tu.»

In questo quadro degno di un film che profuma di cannella e zenzero ed è soffice come una nuvola di panna montata, fa il suo ingresso Hannah: una wedding planner affermata, abituata a lottare contro il tempo e a tenere ogni aspetto della propria esistenza sotto stretto controllo. Il suo lavoro lo pretende, e lei si è lasciata modellare senza opporsi, sacrificando ogni altro aspetto, per inseguire il successo professionale. Non �� una stakanovista per passione, ma per necessità. O meglio, per sopravvivenza. 

Dopo una delusione amorosa devastante, ha scelto di mettere una pietra sopra ai sentimenti e di convolare a nozze con la propria carriera. Una decisione singolare, soprattutto se si pensa che il suo mestiere consiste nel trasformare in realtà i sogni romantici che molte spose coltivano fin dall’infanzia, nonostante lei abbia vissuto, sulla propria pelle, una delle esperienze più traumatiche… Essere abbandonata all’altare è stato un vero incubo, uno di quelli che lasciano il segno, e dal quale non è ancora riuscita a guarire del tutto, anche se sono trascorsi ben quattro anni! Ditemi: come si fa a non provare immediata simpatia per lei?

«Hannah Whitmar non si tira indietro davanti a una sfida. Hannah Whitmar risolve i problemi. Hannah Whitmar ce la farà», dico, facendomi un discorso di incoraggiamento da sola. 

Ora, però, davanti a sé ha ben quattro settimane per assaporare il riposo e staccare dalla frenesia quotidiana e dal bagliore artificiale di Las Vegas. Alloggia al Gingerbread Inn, il grazioso albergo che Willa, la compagna di suo cugino Keller ha ereditato, e dove lavora anche la zia Trixie. Di quel luogo aveva visto solo cartoline e fotografie, senza mai riuscire a visitarlo di persona, e adesso invece, si ritrova a soggiornare in una struttura che ricorda una vera casetta di marzapane, degna di Hansel e Gretel. Cosa desiderare di più?

Ma non passerà molto tempo prima che venga nuovamente risucchiata nel vortice dell’organizzazione degli eventi che animano senza sosta Lake Mistletoe, dal Giorno del Ringraziamento fino a Capodanno. Questa volta, però, ad attenderla c’è anche una sfida in più: un progetto speciale che Willa ha in mente e che finirà per coinvolgerla completamente, con l’obiettivo di rendere indimenticabile, il soggiorno degli ospiti del suo hotel, un'istituzione  in questa cittadina che ricorda il villaggio di Babbo Natale in tutte le sue declinazioni. 

Ma senza svelarvi troppo, l’incontro con Brannigan Prince, per tutti Bran, tanto singolare quanto spassoso, renderà il soggiorno di Hannah ancora più frizzante. Come non lasciarsi tentare da un uomo che sembra avere tutte le qualità del perfetto eroe da fiaba: affascinante, gentile, solare e incredibilmente bello e, come se non bastasse anche creativo? Un vero peccato per quella benda sull’occhio, arrivata proprio nel momento sbagliato (capirete perchè), eppure capace di aggiungere un tocco di mistero a un insieme già irresistibile! In che modo riuscirà a fare breccia nel cuore della splendida Hannah? Con discrezione e spontaneità, muovendosi con delicatezza, per passare dalla semplice curiosità a una sintonia sempre più profonda, fino a sfiorare qualcosa di autentico e intenso.

«Hai davvero staccato una bacca?» «L’ho fatto.» Inarca un sopracciglio. «Cos’è, siamo in una sorta di commedia romantica?» «Cosa c’è di male nelle commedie romantiche?» «Il protagonista maschile smielato»

Bran sa attendere, rispettare i ritmi di Hannah: una donna sicura di sé, consapevole, che conosce i propri desideri, forse più determinata in apparenza che nella realtà, soprattutto quando si permette di abbassare le difese. Lui si avvicina senza forzature, con dolcezza, eleganza, sorrisi sinceri e una schiettezza accompagnata da fermezza, dimostrando di essere affidabile, coerente, innamorato delle tradizioni, dei valori essenziali e della vita condivisa, sempre pronto a spendersi per il bene di chi lo circonda. Generoso nell’animo e nei gesti.

Un uomo concreto, ben ancorato alla realtà ma con lo sguardo rivolto ai sogni, capace di creare un’autentica atmosfera incantata anche grazie al suo carisma naturale, alla suggestiva casa sull’albero e alle serate trascorse tra amici, tra risate, giochi e scherzi, oppure in intimità, tra baci travolgenti e amplessi ardenti. Bran ama le cose semplici, sa fare regali che incantano e commuovono, mentre custodisce emozioni profonde, capaci di scaldare anche il cuore più disilluso. E poi? Lascio a voi il piacere della scoperta, per non rischiare di rubarvi le emozioni! 

«Nelle ultime settimane la mia vita è stata ribaltata sottosopra. Tutto quello che ho sempre voluto mi è stato offerto, ma tutto ciò che non sapevo di volere si è fatto strada silenziosamente.»

Una favola moderna, ambientata in una cornice da sogno. La scrittura dell’autrice è fresca, avvolgente e immersiva. Dimostra una grande abilità nel creare atmosfere soffici e delicate, capaci di scaldare l’anima e riempire il cuore. Una lettura confortevole, che sa descrivere situazioni  intime e allegre, in grado di trasmettere una piacevole sensazione di benessere. Una trama intensa al punto giusto, perfetta per chi desidera rigenerarsi e allentare le tensioni. Non è adatta a chi apprezza i romanzi lunghi e tormentati, ma preferisce distendere i pensieri con storie che si concentrano sui sentimenti autentici, un’umanità calorosa e piena di energia, sempre pronta a dare valore al lato migliore della vita.

«Non sono mai stata così felice come grazie a questo albergo, a questa città e in particolare grazie a te», dice. «Grazie a me?»

Un racconto che ricorda anche a noi lettori quanta bellezza abbiamo a disposizione, se soltanto siamo disposti a riconoscerla. Ed è proprio questo il suo intento: far sognare, avvolgendo chi legge in un’atmosfera morbida e rassicurante, in perfetto stile Hallmark, con due protagonisti che sanno conquistare il cuore.

Con Smitten in Lake Mistletoe, Amber Kelly ci riporta in uno dei suoi luoghi più riusciti e amati: Lake Mistletoe, una cittadina che non è solo un’ambientazione, ma una vera e propria esperienza emotiva. Dopo aver conosciuto questo mondo nel romanzo precedente, tornare tra le sue strade illuminate, il lago silenzioso e le locande accoglienti è come rientrare in un posto che sa di casa, di neve che cade lenta e di seconde possibilità.
All’inizio di Smitten in Lake Mistletoe incontriamo una protagonista che dell’amore ha conosciuto soprattutto il lato più crudele. Essere lasciata all’altare non è solo una delusione sentimentale, ma una frattura profonda che cambia il modo di guardare il mondo e se stessa. Di conseguenza, quando tutto crolla, la sua reazione è tanto comprensibile quanto radicale: chiudere il cuore, smettere di credere nelle promesse e rifugiarsi nel lavoro.

Non a caso diventa una wedding planner di successo a Las Vegas. Aiutare gli altri a realizzare il loro “vissero felici e contenti” diventa, paradossalmente, il suo modo di mantenere il controllo su una storia che, per lei, si è interrotta troppo presto. Da un lato costruisce sogni per gli altri, dall’altro si convince che l’amore, per sé, sia ormai un capitolo chiuso.

Eppure, sotto il sarcasmo affilato e quella corazza emotiva costruita con attenzione, si percepisce chiaramente una ferita mai davvero rimarginata. È proprio qui che Amber Kelly colpisce nel segno: racconta un dolore silenzioso, funzionale, apparentemente superato, ma sempre pronto a riaffiorare nei momenti di quiete. Un dolore che non fa rumore, ma che pesa, e che rende la protagonista incredibilmente umana.
Se la protagonista arriva a Lake Mistletoe con il cuore in difesa, la cittadina fa di tutto per scardinarne lentamente le certezze. Perché Lake Mistletoe non è solo un luogo fisico: è una magia che si insinua piano, senza forzare nulla.

È una cittadina viva tutto l’anno, certo, ma è nel periodo natalizio che sembra respirare più intensamente. La neve che avvolge ogni cosa, le lucine che illuminano le strade, le tradizioni condivise e quell’atmosfera sospesa rendono possibile anche ciò che sembrava definitivamente perduto. Qui il tempo sembra rallentare, offrendo spazio ai pensieri, ai ricordi e soprattutto alle seconde possibilità.

L’amore, infatti, non irrompe all’improvviso. Al contrario, sboccia con calma, aiutato dal lago, dalla comunità sempre presente e, forse, anche da un misterioso signore dalla barba bianca che sembra osservare e intervenire quando meno te lo aspetti. Tornare a Lake Mistletoe è come entrare in una fiaba moderna: una storia che non ignora il dolore, ma lo accompagna con delicatezza verso qualcosa di nuovo.

Ed è proprio in questo contesto che entra in scena Brannigan Prince. Lui è esattamente ciò che la protagonista non stava cercando… e, allo stesso tempo, ciò di cui aveva disperatamente bisogno. Artista locale, montanaro affascinante e dal carattere tranquillo, Brannigan rappresenta un’alternativa concreta alla visione cinica dell’amore che lei si è costruita nel tempo.

A differenza di chi ha cercato di cambiarla o di “aggiustarla”, Brannigan non forza nulla. Non promette miracoli, non pretende spiegazioni. La vede, la ascolta e, soprattutto, le lascia spazio. La loro relazione nasce come una distrazione consapevole, un’avventura leggera senza aspettative, quasi un patto silenzioso per non farsi troppo male.

Tuttavia, pagina dopo pagina, ciò che doveva essere semplice si complica nel modo migliore possibile. Proprio perché fondata sulla reciprocità, sul rispetto e sul supporto, la loro connessione si approfondisce lentamente, fino a diventare qualcosa di autentico e difficile da ignorare.
Uno degli aspetti più riusciti della scrittura di Amber Kelly, sia in questo romanzo sia nelle serie precedenti, è la sua capacità di costruire relazioni realistiche. Qui la chimica non è urlata, ma costante; non è fatta solo di attrazione fisica, ma di dialoghi, silenzi condivisi, piccoli gesti e momenti di vulnerabilità.

I protagonisti non si completano annullandosi a vicenda. Al contrario, imparano a sostenersi, rispettando le ferite dell’altro e camminando insieme senza sovrapporsi. Ed è proprio questa delicatezza a rendere la loro storia così credibile e, soprattutto, profondamente confortante.
Infine, la scrittura di Amber Kelly si conferma calda, scorrevole e avvolgente. Ogni pagina profuma di biscotti appena sfornati, di legno, di neve e di speranza. L’autrice ha un talento naturale nel creare atmosfere che accolgono il lettore e lo invitano a restare.

Smitten in Lake Mistletoe è, a tutti gli effetti, il comfort romance per eccellenza: una storia che coccola, che fa sorridere e che ricorda che non è mai troppo tardi per rimettere in discussione le proprie convinzioni. Non è una favola ingenua, ma un romanzo che riconosce il dolore e, nonostante tutto, sceglie l’amore.
Smitten in Lake Mistletoe è una storia di rinascita, fiducia e magia quotidiana. Un romanzo che dimostra come, anche dopo le più grandi delusioni, il cuore possa tornare a battere se messo nel posto giusto.
Tornare a Lake Mistletoe è stato come tornare a casa… e lasciarla, ancora una volta, è stato più difficile del previsto.

Smitten in Lake Mistletoe è una di quelle letture che fanno sentire il profumo e la magia di Natale dalla prima all’ultima pagina. L’ambientazione è curata nei minimi dettagli e la piccola cittadina innevata sembra uscita direttamente da un film natalizio: tradizioni, luci, magia e spirito delle feste sono presi molto sul serio, trasformando Lake Mistletoe in un vero e proprio villaggio di Babbo Natale.

Hannah è una protagonista che porta con sé una ferita profonda: essere stata lasciata all’altare l’ha spinta a chiudere il cuore all’amore. Paradossalmente, però, il suo lavoro consiste nel creare il giorno perfetto per altre spose, anche se lei stessa non crede più nella favola romantica. Quando decide di concedersi una vacanza, lontana dalla sua vita fatta di scalette, orari rigidissimi e controllo assoluto, qualcosa inizia lentamente a cambiare. Per la prima volta, Hannah impara a rallentare, a concedersi il lusso di dormire di più, di fare le cose con calma e di vivere il momento.

L’incontro con Bran segna un cambiamento importante. Quella che inizialmente sembra una semplice avventura natalizia si trasforma piano piano in qualcosa di più profondo. Bran è un personaggio che sa cosa vuole, ama la sua città, la sua casa sull’albero e la comunità in cui vive, ma soprattutto lascia a Hannah la libertà di scegliere, anche a costo di soffrire. È leale, presente e sempre pronto ad aiutare gli altri, incarnando perfettamente lo spirito del luogo.

Hannah, dal canto suo, potrebbe sembrare la classica “snob” di città, ma si rivela tutt’altro: è generosa, dedita al lavoro, alla famiglia e a chiunque abbia bisogno di una mano, anche quando dovrebbe pensare solo a riposarsi. Il suo percorso è fatto di piccoli passi, di risate, di momenti di leggerezza e di riflessioni che la portano a rimettere in discussione le proprie convinzioni e la propria vita.

Il romanzo è scorrevole, piacevole e ricco di scene divertenti che strappano più di una risata. Smitten in Lake Mistletoe è una lettura perfetta per chi ama le storie natalizie, romantiche e luminose, capaci di scaldare il cuore e ricordare che, a volte, basta cambiare ritmo e luogo per ritrovare se stessi e magari anche l’amore.

Buon pomeriggio lettori,

Eccomi oggi per la recensione del libro SMITTEN IN LAKE MISTLETOE della serie LAKE MISTLETOE #2 di Amber Kelly. Ed eccoci al secondo volume di questa bellissima serie, storia bella, scritta bene e scorrevole, per l’ennesima volta questa bellissima località ha cambiato la vita della nostra protagonista è bastata una semplice vacanza dopo essere stata lasciata. In questa storia vedremo tensione, frecciatine e chissà anche qualcos’altro tra i nostri due protagonisti, che sono l’uno l’opposto dell’altra che però creano quella dolcezza. 5⭐️

La penna di Amber ti lascia qualcosa dentro il cuore, ma soprattutto i suoi personaggi e l’ambiente dove si svolge la storia, è una coccola per il cuore e si legge talmente tanto velocemente che arrivi a fine pagina e ne vorresti sempre più.

Trama

Dopo che il mio fidanzato mi ha lasciato all’altare, umiliata e con il cuore spezzato, mi sono buttata a capofitto nella mia carriera. Ironia della sorte, la ragazza che non crede più nel “vissero felici e contenti” è ora la wedding planner più richiesta di Las Vegas, ma ho deciso tanto tempo fa che la mia missione sarebbe stata quella di aiutare le spose a realizzare la loro favola prima che la realtà le schiaffeggiasse in pieno volto.

Un giorno perfetto.

Ma ora sono diretta a Lake Mistletoe, una pittoresca cittadina nella valle dell’Idaho, per supervisionare il primo grande evento della fidanzata di mio cugino. Mia zia mi ha convinto che questo splendido luogo è perfetto per concedersi un po’ di riposo e relax dopo un anno estenuante. Quindi, quando Willa, la proprietaria del “Gingerbread Inn”, mi ha offerto una stanza per le vacanze, ho accettato con gratitudine.

Brannigan Prince, talentuoso artista locale e nuovo socio in affari di mio cugino, Keller, è esattamente la distrazione di cui ho bisogno.

This book is for those that wished your Hallmark movies were a little bit spicier during the holidays. I loved the irony in Hannah being an event planner focused on weddings in Vegas. But now she’s getting a whole month break in a small town, in an inn that really focuses on celebrating Christmas every day of the season! I instantly obsessed over Gingerbreak Inn, and caught a terrible case of jealousy! After nearly sending Bran to an early grave, he decides a date is the best way to apologize. He was so curious about her. But she wasn’t staying or his kinda not-serious type. Because of the hesitation, they form a genuine bond that felt natural. Which also means their attraction felt natural, and comfortably unrushed. I giggled. A lot. I was expecting the third act to be what it was, but it still annoyed me. I spent all that time enjoying Hannah, and then she annoyed the heck out of me! Their “I’m sorry” was too soon, and their happily ever after entirely too quickly, especially with the issues she was dealing with. I almost gave this three stars, but I genuinely enjoyed reading it. I loved getting to know the characters and falling in love with their small town during Christmas. I all felt so special. I think maybe if her issues with relationships was dealt with differently, I’d feel differently about Hannah and Bran’s love story. And I’d believe in their love more.

Non vedevo l’ora di tornare a Lake Mistletoe e godermi questo meraviglioso e pittoresco paesaggio con i suoi amorevoli abitanti. È stato bello ritrovare tutti i personaggi del volume precedente, tra cui Willa e Keller, ma varcare di nuovo la soglia del Gingerbread Inn, l'albergo di Willa, mi ha emozionata.
È un luogo confortevole che sa di casa, di dolcezza e amore, dove prevalgono le tradizioni, soprattutto quelle natalizie che tanto adoro. Anche Hannah ha provato la stessa emozione quando è arrivata a Lake Mistletoe. Vive a Las Vegas, fa la wedding planner e necessita di una vacanza tranquilla; perciò, perché non approfittare dell’invito di Willa per trascorrere il Natale con zii e cugini (tra cui Keller, il fidanzato di Willa)?
Sono passati alcuni anni da quando Hannah è stata abbandonata all'altare, ma il peso che sente sul cuore non la abbandona mai. L'incontro divertente e particolare con Bran, amico e socio di Keller, farà sì che ricominci a credere in se stessa. La dolcezza di Bran nel conquistarla, insieme all'atmosfera perfetta che fa da cornice, sarà la giusta combinazione per riaprire il suo cuore.
Amo questo genere, soprattutto quando ho bisogno di coccole e dolcezza: è una lettura che sa coinvolgere ed emozionare. Assolutamente consigliata!

Natale non è un giorno solo, è un’intera stagione. Un periodo dell’anno in cui si mette tutto il resto da parte e si festeggiano le cose davvero importanti della vita.
La protagonista Hannah, conquista subito, dopo essere stata lasciata all’altare, decide di chiudere con l’amore… ironicamente diventando una wedding planner di successo. È facile immedesimarsi in lei e tifare fin da subito perché la vita, e soprattutto l’amore, riescano a sorprenderla di nuovo. Il cambio di scenario da Las Vegas alla tranquilla Lake Mistletoe è delizioso. La cittadina, il Gingerbread Inn e l’atmosfera rilassata sembrano fatti apposta per far sciogliere anche il cuore più duro. Si percepisce proprio quell’aria da “vacanza rigenerante” che prepara il terreno a qualcosa di speciale. E poi c’è Brannigan Prince, il protagonista maschile, artista, affascinante, montanaro quanto basta. La classica distrazione che nasce come qualcosa di leggero ma che rischia di diventare molto di più e, l’idea di una “avventura senza impegno” che forse non lo è, davvero funziona sempre. Nel complesso la trama è dolce, ironica e romantica al punto giusto, perfetta per chi ama le storie di rinascita, seconde possibilità e amori che arrivano quando meno te li aspetti. Lake Mistletoe sembra proprio il tipo di posto dove anche i cuori più feriti possono tornare a credere nella magia.

Smitten in Lake Mistletoe was just the book I needed to get me in the holiday spirit. I loved the first book in this series so much and I was excited to see what was next for the town and these characters I grew to love so much. Hannah is one of the most sought after wedding planners in Las Vegas. After being left at the altar, she throws herself into giving brides the day of their dreams. Even if she doesn't believe in Happily Ever After anymore. After running herself ragged for years vying for a promotion, she finally takes a vacation and goes to spend Christmas with her family in Lake Mistletoe.

Bran is the best friend of her cousin Keller and his business partner. After a disastrous meet cute that involves Bran falling off a ladder after having a lamp thrown in his face. He is determined to get to know the girl with an arm like Brady better. I loved his sense of humor and how charismatic he was.

I loved the small town feel of this book and how everyone supports everyone, something Hannah is not used to at all. The longer she stays in Lake Mistletoe, the more she realizes that maybe this is her Christmas wish she never knew she needed. This was a great holiday read and now has me going to put up my Christmas tree and decorating my house!!!

Can you imagine what it would feel like to be left at the altar?

That’s how Hannah story starts, years later she turns into a wedding planner ironically in Vegas but she doesn’t believe in the happily ever after fairy tale anymore.

Hannah is on her way to Lake Mistletoe for a much needed vacation and to visit her family. She is staying at the Gingerbread Inn (which is owned by Willa). It’s there that she meets Bran Prince and quite literally knocked him off his feet. Hannah is not looking for anything serious and she may not believe in love, but a brief holiday fling with a sexy mountain man, may be just a thing that will melt her heart.

Going back to Lake Mistletoe was even better the second time around. Pretty much all of the characters that were in the first book made an appearance in Smitten and it was just as magical! Loved Hannah and Brans characters their banter and chemistry was sweet with just enough spice! The letter Bran writes to Hannah had me in happy tears 🥹. Amber Kelly sleighs it yet again…pun intended 😁!

This is one of the cutest holiday reads! It absolutely read like it could (mostly) be a Hallmark movie.

Hannah and Brannigan separately were great characters, but putting them together was the absolute icing on the cake. Hannah’s past lead her to working herself to the bone as a wedding planner…gunning for a higher position…but when she hosts a family member’s wedding and finally takes her own well-deserved vacation to the family resort? Between incredible family who’s supportive, and newfound friends that help slowly speak some sense into her, Hannah’s life is bound to change in ways she’d never expect.

Brannigan is the epitome of single male who just wants that small-town life back. After having gone to Seattle for a girl, and moving back to Lake Mistletoe, he delves deeply into his own work. That includes hanging wreaths outside the Inn…but a chance encounter, shard of glass to the eye, and a giant bruise on the face from a lamp rock his world to the core. Meeting the woman who took him out in one fell swoop was all it took for Brannigan to fall head over heels!

I couldn’t put this down after I started reading, and was only forced to because of work. I love cute Holiday books, and this one is bound to be reread each year!

Such a heartwarming and festive book to get you in the holiday mood. I absolutely loved Bran and Hannah. Hannah showed up very much the city girl in the small festive town and from the moment Bran laid eyes on Hannah he wanted her. But that first meeting went off with a hitch and made things more interesting.



Hannah gets to experience a slower pace of life and experience all the Christmas traditions she’s missed being married to her job in the city. Even with the way Bran and Hannah meet Bran charms Hannah and wears her down with the help of her mom to explore the chemistry between them. It starts with a dinner and then Bran weaves himself into the time she has left in her vacation. As it goes when Hannah starts to experience life spending time with family and taking the time to explore what is going on with Bran she just might have a change of heart when it comes to what’s important.



This was a very lighthearted and easy book to read. I absolutely adored Bran and the guy made me cry at the thoughtful gift he made Hannah. I couldn’t get enough of these two and didn’t want the book to end.

Smitten at Lake Mistletoe is a fantastic holiday romance that will have you feeling all the feels. Ms.Kelly always delivers such a wonderful and enjoyable story that you cannot help but fall in love with the characters and the storyline. When you are left at the altar it is one of the worst experiences of your life but what does Hannah do? She becomes the best wedding planner the world has ever seen. Is she looking for romance again? Does she believe that marriage is the ultimate dream? Well, those thoughts are far from her head. When the opportunity to have a Christmas vacation at a family's Inn she takes them up on it. The only thing that she was not expecting was to meet Bran, a handsome man whom she was determined to keep the walls up around her heart so he could not get in. Have a Christmas fling, why not. Have your feelings involved, definitely not. Well, Bran was determined to change her thinking about relationships and romance. Bran was the perfect book-boyfriend that any woman would want.

Looking for a terrific Christmas novella, I highly recommend picking up Smitten at Lake Mistletoe.

Another read for me by this author and definitely won't be my last one. I loved the feel of the story and it's definitely a Christmas story for that time of the year you don't want to miss. I enjoyed the chemistry between Hannah and Brannigan but also loved the side characters that made this even more relatable. A great Christmas read!

When Hannah's been left at the altar, she decides she needs a break from it all and returns to Lake Mistletoe to spend Christmas time with her family. The first day isn't going as planned as a lot of things happen that may change the course of her stay but when she meets Brannigan "Bran", they get off on the wrong foot but there seems to be a spark between them. Even though she's there on holiday, opportunities arise and it may be just what she needed. Bran has been working at the shop for a while now and is happy with his life but when Hannah walks into town, there's an attraction between them that both can't really ignore even though he knows she's not staying long. Hannah's starting to rethink her life and maybe being in Lake Mistletoe is just what the doctor ordered. Will she take a chance or will she go?...

Amber Kelly is a queen of small town romance. Smitten in Lake Mistletoe is a sweet holiday romance with just a hint of spice. It gives off Hallmark movie vibes and I am all for it!!! It was the perfect feel good story about the magic of the holidays, the charm of a small town, and the power of just a few kisses under the mistletoe. If you love second chances at love, friends to lovers, and small town romances then Hannah and Bran's story is for you.

This was a really cute holiday novella. It’s a stand alone in a 2 book series with characters from the first book appearing in this one, however I have not read the first and I had no issues reading this one without it.

Hannah was left at the altar on her wedding day. Despite having the worst imaginable thing happen to her on her own wedding day, she loves being an event planner specializing in giving brides their perfect dream wedding. Working in Vegas in the event industry has its drawbacks though and Hannah decides to spend some much needed downtime in Lake Mistletoe with family and friends.

Enter Brannigan Prince. Swoon. The teddy bear of a man is good with his hands (woodworking 😉), big and brawn, great with kids, and lives in a real life custom tree house..fit with its own pizza oven in the stone fireplace. Could anyone resist Bran and his charm? I don’t think so.

In terms of spice, this was like a cute Christmas hallmark with a couple spicy scenes. The plot was all about Hannah and Bran’s meet-disaster, their time at the inn getting ready for the Holly ball, and their adorable Christmas romance.

This was a quick and fun holiday read that just warmed my heart. Hannah was a fantastic wedding planner in Las Vegas. She was working towards a promotion but for this holiday season, she needed a break from life and decided to head to stay with family in Lake Mistletoe. She thought she would visit with family and help them with their holiday festivities. She had no idea she would end up never wanting to leave.

Bran moved to Lake Mistletoe to help his best friend start up a business. They enjoyed working together and Bran loved Keller’s family. He never expected while helping out at the inn to be literally knocked off his feet and ending up falling off a ladder and for the girl that caused it all. He knew starting something with Hannah was a risk since she wasn’t planning on staying in tow.

But the heart wants what the heart wants. And Bran and Hannah both end up Smitten in Lake Mistletoe.

I loved this book from beginning to end. This is the perfect book to read during the holiday season because it will put you right into the spirit of the season. This is the second book in the series and just as good as the first. I loved Bran and Hannah. Their first meeting is quite memorable to say the least. I loved their inside joke with the mistletoe and it's so romantic of Bran. Sometimes what we think we want is not what we need. Hannah learns that with her vacation to Lake Mistletoe and the Gingerbread Inn. I still want to go visit the Gingerbread Inn during holidays. All the events and activities are right up my alley! I loved watching the magic of the town worm it's way around Hannah. If anyone deserves happiness it's her. Bran is prime book boyfriend just like his friend Keller. He's the kind of guy I would love to have by my side during the holidays. I would highly recommend this one!!

Hannah and Bran

Another heartwarming holiday romance. This was a quick read with low angst and high Christmas spirit.

Hannah arrives in Lake Mistletoe on vacation and to visit her Aunt who works at the Gingerbread Inn. She doesn’t expect to like the slower pace or the tight knit community as much as she does. Her “meet cute” with Bran was unexpected and ended up being a running joke for the two of them. Hannah doesn’t believe in love, but spends her life planning everyone else’s perfect wedding. Bran sees right through her and makes it his mission to prove that she does believe, she just needs a little encouragement and the right partner.

I loved Bran and his patience. I loved the legend of the mistletoe and the way he uses that to his advantage to create something incredibly special for Hannah. The present combined with his note were so sweet! This was the perfect story to bring a little holiday magic to life.

La storia si snoda tra incontri dolci e un po’ piccanti, un slow burn romantico e la magia del Natale; così mentre Hannah cerca di mantenere le difese intatte, Bran con pazienza e genuinità la fa mettere in discussione le sue convinzioni sull’amore.

Il loro incontro è originale, la connessione cresce in modo naturale e la chimica tra loro funziona benissimo. Bran? Mi ha rubato il cuore senza alcuna possibilità di recupero. 💗

Un romance perfetto per chi ama i romanzi con personaggi simpatici, spunti divertenti e quella sensazione calda di “ritorno a casa”. 💖
