What a ride. I binge read this series in a day and i did not regret it even one bit. I have finals tomorrow. But whatever. I've accepted my fate 😭💀
This story got me hooked from the very first chapter and although i was a bit suspicious about certain things, they all got cleared up pretty well as the story progresses.
As a reader, i've had my doubts about the main characters' intentions (especially mister). It's clear to me that he's far better than sachi's parents, but why was he stalking her?😭 so through out the story, i was rooting for sachi's happiness, but that question would always linger. I was curious to see how it'll all be explained.
And it DID NOT DISSAPOINT. I feel like we—the readers—are also representated in the story by the detectives. At first, they are hesitant about sachi and haru's situation. But it all became pretty clear that what they're truly seeking is just... happiness. Seeing how each of the characters develop is very satisfying. And although my situation is not comparable to theirs, some line in this story hits too close to home you know? 🥲 i loved haru's story in particular. What he felt, during that period of time after his father's death. How he wanted to 'die', but he was continously searching for his purpose in life. And how he learned that there was more to life than finding a 'goal'. It was too fucking realistic. I can't help but appreciate it more and more 😭
Although certain parts of the ending shattered me, I still love it. The conclusion they had was very nice and seeing haru meeting his dad in the 'afterlife' gave me some kind of peace yk. Rest well, haru 😭 he deserves the best tbh i need him to be PEACEFUL at all times now🙏🙏 Sachi's growth was admirable too. I'm wishing her all the good things in this world for her fr 😭😭😭
Oh yeah... and seeing her exhibition............ i can't even describe the hurt im feeling rn. Im DESTROYED. Utterly. And complety. Destroyed.

I just feel like this piece of ABSOLUTE ART is so fucking underrated that i want to set this this damn world on fire! I started reading it as a side manga cuz i had never heard of it before and assumed it was gonna be an average read but goddamn was i wrong, also can we like talk bout the fucking ending ...cuz like dude wtf whowhathow? i couldn't have seen that coming in a million eternity...so in conclusion it is amazing it made me feel something in my kokoro and i recommend it. BYE
series name: one room of happines i finished it and i wish i didnt. im empty. i dont know what to think. i love this manga, its the first ive read and it was amazing. i loved the characters, loved the plot. i loved the complicated relationship the main two had with it each other. i cried and if i cried you know the author did a good job. not to mention the amazing art style. saying the ending broke me is an understatement. this series gets 4 stars from me so you know i recommend this with my heart.
ps. and because the plot was a little slow but the ending was good, im willing to give a certain book recommended by a certain someone a try because this series reminded me of it.
i think this was very interesting to read 🤔 like idk how 2 rllt feel abt haru stalking sachi and “kidnapping” her, but ig it all just played out in the end. but i think this also showed how those without homes are viewed on media and in peoples eyes. haru’s dad being portrayed as a kidnapper and a killer for saving a boy from drowning (he also frequently played with him due to the boy’s parents abusing him therefore he wasn’t home often). and for haru when sachi made a video after his death coming out with the truth about everything, people still were painting haru as the evil one

Víc neprozradím, přečtěte si to. Celá série má 11 dílů a každý jeden díl nabízí zajímavý vhled do života únosce, unesené a všech okolních postav důležitých pro příběh.
This manga tell a story surrounding Stockholm syndrome. The reason behind it and what is the relationship between kidnapped and their victim. That's not only the main premise of this manga. Its also explore a lot of philosophycal topic, they explain it beautifully. Just like the title says, happiness. One could not easily define what happiness is. Is it money, family, friends, partner. Both our MC are looking for this happiness on their life adventure. We will follow their journey to find it.
Early on, the story only focus on the kidnapper and the victim. And as the story goes on, there will be a lot of new characters. Everyone fill their role perfectly. Not a single characters goes to waste. The pace is easy to read, at least it was for me. This is my first time reading a long manga and I'm not confused or anything. It have occasional flashback to give more backstory to the characters. This thing make you care more about them. The characters also like to crack a joke here and there. So its not always serious all the time.
Sometimes the dialogue is hard to digest. Because like i said above, it taps into philosophycal too. Not really a bother though. In fact, that's makes this manga better. Its using its full advantages as a form of literature to the fullest. The relationship between characters also got written well. People can change, personality can change. The growth of our MC is really something. To the point of you compare the opening story with the ending, they looks like two different person. Its very satisfying to see when people learn from their mistake. Other side characters influence also help to shape the MC personality.
This is my first time encountering a villain in anime/manga i consume. I can say that they doing a great jobs making my emotion go unstable. And its not me alone who really really hate the antagonist, its so funny to see other reader comment about it too. That's a good sign of course. I'm definitely enjoy every single chapter. The art is beautiful, the background is beautiful, and the characters design also beautiful. Expression of each characters gives resonate within the manga panel.
My favorite characters from this manga is the Detective. Good thing he have his own spin off manga which you can read if you crave more story revolving around this manga. There's also a live action TV show, will definitely watch it later in the future. I really wish this will get adapted into an anime really soon tho. It would be great. Maybe there's a chance now, considering this manga is now finished. So, should you read this? Yes, i really reccomend it if you want a heartwarming story of people struggling living this life. Maybe you can learn one or two advice from this manga so you can overcome your problem. Thank you for reading my review.
I love this story I am so happy for Sashi that and what she made of her trauma I am so proud of her for speaking up for herself this is a beautiful story but why did Haru have to die??? They would have made THE cutest couple but what I didn't expect he is/was 10 YEARS older than her... But I love them why did he have to die??? At least her mother got what she deserved
I have not read a perfect manga in a long time, but this… Great art, interesting concept, beautiful story, satisfying ending — I don’t think I have really anything negative to say about this
Starting up this series I was both fascinated and worried—the concept was bonkers and each new page I was dreading what could potentially happen. I mean, it really could have gone from a Drama to a Horror manga in an instant. Instead, this story became about the simple concept of learning how to live and be happy. My biggest concern was the amount of volumes in this series—eleven seemed like far too many for this type of story and the idea of potential unnecessary filler made me almost want to put this down. Except I was happily mistaken. Every chapter was important and added to the story—even the seemingly mundane elements. Not a single page was wasted
And the ending… like I said, satisfying even if it wasn’t wholly unexpected. And while ordinarily the very concept of the table-side chat at the end is usually something I’d roll my eyes at, I was completely on board
So, yeah, I cannot recommend this series enough (massive trigger warnings of just about everything you can think of). I did see this was made into a tv show and I plan on watching it. So long as it didn’t end before the manga series ended. Not making that mistake again. Lookin’ at you Taiwanese Hana Kimi
I absolutely love the series so my rating is obviously high, though I must say I'm a little disappointed by the ending. As much as I'm glad that in the end Sachi got adopted by Matsubase because I was rooting for that since the beginning, I feel like Haru's death was very poorly executed. He was such an important character that I think he deserved a more reasonable death than that. It was so random and almost impossible for Sachi's mom to reach that gun, grab it from the police officer and aim it perfectly while being handcuffed and in presence of so many police officers. Overall I think Haru dying at the end was a good and interesting ending, just a little disappointing with how it went.
I'm happy with how all the emotions were handled though. Matsubase's guilt was on point and it hit me right where it hurts (which is not a surprise, because Matsubase's character is overall the one of (if not the best) the most well written characters in the series.
I'm really sad that it ended so soon, I feel like it was a little rushed :((
Anyways, it was a really great story with not-that-great-but-still-good ending. I highly recommend!! I absolutely love Matsubase haha

I don't know what to think about this, but I'm just so deeply sad and at the same time happy for that ending.
I knew there was no other way for him to live, but I can't help imagining what it would have been like if they got their "happy ending". We can all surmise this isn't a romance, so would Haru (after serving his sentence) have been a guiding hand when Sachi would finally own a place to live in and go to school? I think he would have gotten into school too. I think Matsubase would have adopted them both even when Haru is an adult.
What would have been his life? This ending would have given me warm feelings and helped me sleep better at night.
Haru deserved more than dying by a bullet wound through the heart, but then, he died protecting "his happiness", and that's all he wanted from this ordeal.
Truly a masterpiece. That ending with her exhibit broke my heart and mended it back together again in one go.
This is the first manga that got me reading until the bitter end even as i was struggling to read each chapter cuz its a slow burn story that I usually hate. The story is so character oriented that it makes me think a lot which is something I hate doing these days. The two leads and the detectives was so fleshed out that they felt like real people and every chapter feels like a stab in the heart because of how well the story was written. Each character was black and white that it was hard to for me to attach myself to them knowing the story will screw them in some way since that is just life. Thank God the manga was already completed and I don't have to wait another year for it to finish. I can't believe i'm writing this while crying, hopefully its still readable.
Came here ironically, stayed unironically. I started this series just because it was on sale and I couldn’t be happier that I did. It’s not the kind of story I usually read but i can not believe how much I’ve grown to love this series and how insanely good it was. It kills me how it ended, I cried a lot. It was so unfair. Surprisingly, somehow this series made it to my favorites and I recommend it with my whole heart. I hope I can find something as great as this again someday.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dużo by mówić.
I was not expecting this to be what it was. Holy cow so glad I didn’t decide to just finish the last volume on my lunch break. I’m gonna go reflect & cry myself to sleep now. Everyone else, go enjoy this manga.
