Though he is no longer the Sheriff of Summerville, Rawley won’t back down from his investigation into his brother’s shooting. Something’s not right. There is a murderer to catch, corruption to fight and his job to get back. More importantly, Rawley isn’t about to walk away from the greatest love of his life. Sheriff or not, Jeb Greeley is the man for him...

I really liked all three of these books (Not ready for Twin Temptations yet). They were well written and enjoyable. I am not a fan of cowboy stories usually but all three of these were great. Between all three books I can not think of one thing that annoyed me, also rare for me. I am excited to read more about Nate, Rio, and Ryan in All Play & No Work

I don't have much to say about this book. I pretty much only read it because I'd read the first two books in the series and they have very connected storylines. I'll admit, though, that I did quite a bit of skim reading since, in all honesty, Carol Lynne books just don't really engage me. I've tried to get into them, but they're just too superficial.

This is the third book in the Good-time Boys series. The first three books are very connected and need to be read in order for them to make sense.

In Rawley's Redemption, Rawley Good is finally coming out of the closet about his sexuality now that he's lost his job as sheriff. For a long time he's lied and said he's straight because he did not want to lose his job. But it happened anyway due to events surrounding his brother's shooting and there's no sense in hiding who he is anymore. However, even though he will admit his feelings for Jeb Greeley, part of his own mind still has trouble accepting his homosexuality. Along with that, he's determined to get his job back and catch the man responsible for almost killing his brother.

Like the second book in the series, this one jumps right into the story. It literally picks up where book 2 left off and it feels more like a new chapter instead of a new book. Which is why it's necessary to read these books in order.

Otherwise, I just don't have much to say. This is a pretty typical Carol Lynne book. The romance was so-so...though I did kinda like how Rawley had trouble accepting his own sexuality. I would have liked it more if it had been explored further. The plot resolution regarding Sonny's shooting was pretty predictable. There's also a side story involving secondary characters Rio, Nate and Ryan. Would have liked it if that had been more utilized.

Basically, with this book and this series...if you like Carol Lynne stories then you'd probably like this book/series. But if you've not read her before and you're the type that likes books that dig deeper and have more emotional conflict then I'd suggest looking for another M/M author.

WARNING, this book contains: explicit sex and language, M/M sex, anal sex, references to a M/M/M relationship

I liked this book a bit better than I expected to. Rawley has not been one of my favorite characters in the series, however I did like his partner Jeb. I liked how their relationship progressed throughout the book. I also liked how we continue to get multiple perspectives throughout the series. I really wanted to read more about Nate, Rio and Ryan. I guess I’m going to have to get the first book in the Cattle Valley series to see how their relationship turned out. All in all, it was a good book and we finally got some closure on Sonny’s shooting so that was good.

This story continues where the previous one left off. At the exact sentence, to be exact. The gang is still trying to gather evidence against Lionel for Sonny's shooting. Nate is brought in, as well as Rio, then Ryan. Rawley gets on my nerves a little bit in this book. He denies he feels anything for Jeb for so long, to save his job, etc., but then, when he decides to go for it, he immediately falls into lovey dovey boyfriend mode, while constantly whining that he doesn't know how to be one. He gets it together in the end, but build up drove me nuts. I'm looking forward to reading more about the secretive sexy twins and to following Nate/Rio/Ryan to Cattle Valley.

Such a wonderfully sweet book and couple. I was so happy that Rawley finally came around and accepted who he was and who he loved. Jeb is such a beautiful man; patient but determined, he'd prefect for Rawley.

The tone of this book was so nice, so much caring and loving going on, even with all the upset and disorder going on sometimes, it still held true to the sweet atmosphere. I loved getting to know the twins a little better (might even have to read the next one even though it has girlie bits - love me some twincest) and the new Ryan, Rio and Nate threesome.

3.75* enjoyed this one because it features Nate, Ryan and Rio who I actually preferred even though they are really only supporting characters in Rawleys story they go on to start the first book of the Cattle Valley series.

MEH!

“Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem most important to you.” ~ Carl Jung

Rawley, from 'Rawley's Redemption' by Carol Lynne, has a lot of confusion in his life. Not only is he dealing with trying to find his brother's attacker, he has also finally admitted he wants Jeb. He is so worried about losing his job and being ostracized by the people around him, he has been holding off on loving Jeb. Now that Rawley has been fired, there's nothing stopping him from showing Jeb how he really feels.

Jeb is surprisingly understanding while Rawley works out his problems. Jeb wants Rawley, but he wants all of him. Even though they've been sleeping in each other’s arms for a while now, they haven't had sex. Rawley's reasoning being that once they do there is no turning back, that both their lives will change forever. When Rawley comes roaring up to his house, Jeb goes out to greet him, concerned about the strength of the emotion Rawley is demonstrating. Rawley: “I've been relieved of my duties as Summerville Sheriff. I no longer have a need to hide the way I feel about you....Care for a roommate?” Jeb is upset about Rawley's dismissal, but infinitely pleased to be able to deepen their relationship and not have to hide it. Rawley has never been in a relationship and has no idea about how to proceed. When he starts hiding things from Jeb, even if Rawley feels it is for his own good, Jeb explodes.

Rawley's main concern about not being sheriff anymore is that he's lost his law enforcement authority; but that's not going to stop him from continuing with the investigation. He's still got Nate and Rio working on the case as well. Nate has done such a good job of harassing the man he's been watching, that he finally explodes and starts a fight with Nate. After Nate kicks him in the chest, he files a restraining order against him, making it more difficult for Nate to stay close to him. This might slow Nate down, but it doesn't stop him. In fact, Nate is still so persistent that Rio, his backup and protector, becomes anxious about Nate's welfare. It's driving Rio crazy that Nate affects him so much, and he realizes it is more than lust. Nate has the same feelings, but knows that Rio has a partner and is miserable thinking about it. It finally gets so bad that Rio begs his partner, Ryan, to come to be with him. At first Ryan blows it off, but after talking to Garron about it, decides he really needs to come see what's going on.

There's a lot of love in this story. It's also about dedication and learning to be honest with those you love. It's also the introduction of my favorite ménage—Ryan, Rio, and Nate, before they move to Cattle Valley; I enjoyed being able to see how the trio's relationship began. If you like cowboys, gay men, intrigue, drama, justice, family, and the many ways there are to love, you may enjoy this story. Thanks, Carol, for reminding us that being honest is never wrong.

Hot and Sweet

have loved the Cattle Valley books by Carol Lynne and was sure I would love this one too. I wasn't let down either. She delivered and then some.

Rawley shows up at the man he loves home after being fires as the sheriff. Rawley's has been trying to nail the guy he knew shot his brother Sonny. He has never been in a relationship before but knows he loves Jeb without a doubt. Jeb welcomes him telling Rawley they will get him room for his clothes later. They end up having sex for the first time there.

Rawley has a lot to learn about relationships and love with family and Jeb both. Things are rocky with Jeb when he messes up twice. The first by not including Jeb and the second by not understanding what being with someone means. I was glad when he figured both of his mistakes out. I felt bad for both of them because they were hurting.

Rawley hired Nate Gills who we know from the Cattle Valley books as Rio and Ryan's partner. This is the book that starts them being together. Nate is undercover trying to get the guy that shot Rawley's brother to mess up,which he does finally. Nate knows how to be a good PI but things go bad before they get good for him.

Nate falls in love with Rio who is into him but want cheat on his partner Ryan. With advice from Jeb's brother Ryan comes to the town to see what's going on. He admits he finds Nate good looking too. HEe just isn't sure if it'll work between the three of them however by the end of the book they are leaving for Texas together.

Rawley gets his brother's shooter and the one who but the hit out behind bars. The guy's stupidity gets the best of him. I was glad that he was brought down for what he did. Sonny suffers from seizures nd bad heads because of what happened. His personality to Rawley has changed and Rawley gets called on how he's been shying away from Sonny. He blames his self for him being shot.

Rawley and Jeb get a great ending and Rawley got his job back. Jeb wants him to run for mayor next. They worked out the problems that Rawley was having during the book about being together which was hurting then both. Advice from others helped a lot. Rawley also apologized to his twin brothers when it comes to them being together. (I can't wait to read that book. Twincest is a guilty pleasure to read. It's not don't care what others think)

Carol Lynne did a great job and I will be reading more of her books soon.

The third story in the ‘Good-Time Boys’ series (first read in 2008) continues the saga of the Good boys (the twins and Rawley) in Summerville, Nebraska, but switches perspective to see things from Rawley’s and Jeb’s point of view. At the end of the previous book, Rawley lost his job as sheriff because he wouldn’t give up his investigation into Sonny’s shooting. The suspect, Lincoln, has the town’s mayor in his pocket, other dark shenanigans begin to emerge, and Rawley is now investigating on his own. Or rather with the help of Garron, a cop from Lincoln who is married to Rawley’s brother Sonny, and a couple of buddies of Rawley’s, who are beginning to develop their own drama.

Rawley has never been in a relationship before, but now that he is no longer sheriff, he is determined to make things work with his longtime crush, Jeb. Things aren’t easy while both men try to figure things out, and between that and the ongoing attacks of all kinds from Lincoln and his cronies, Rawley has his hands full. His love for Jeb is unquestionable though, and any acts of possessiveness and overprotectiveness must be seen as such – or so Rawley believes. Jeb has a different opinion, and it was fun t watch the two of them battle it out.

The other major thread that begins in this book is the budding romance between Nate, Rio, and Ryan. Remembering them well from more than one book in the ‘Cattle Valley’ series, it was a treat for me to go back to their beginnings and be reminded of how it all started.

If you like stories about men in love who have to deal with misunderstandings in their relationship as well as a troubling situation, if you want to find out how Rawley and Jeb finally manage to get together, and if you're looking for a suspenseful, hot read, then you will probably like this short story.

In this book, Rawley continues to try to bring Sonny's shooter to justice while trying to navigate his new relationship with Jeb.

I liked this book better than the previous two and felt the pacing had improved wonders. However, the book still suffered from typos and incorrect word usage (e.g. steel was used instead of steal). I usually overlook these types of mistakes, but after three books in this series, I figured the editing would have improved.

I enjoyed watching Rawley and Jeb's romance blossom. They had their occasional bumps in the road, but always continued to love one another. I still felt bad for Sonny and Garron as they tried to move on and live their lives after the shooting and its repercussions. The Nate, Rio and Ryan relationship was enjoyable as well. I usually steer clear of threesomes/polyamorous relationships, but I liked the chemistry between the three men. I may even read their book in the Cattle Valley series.

Lastly, I felt the culmination of the investigation against Sonny's shooter was very anti-climactic. After two books of trying to bring the guy to justice, the conclusion fell flat and I didn't feel as though he received his comeuppance. I wanted him to suffer for what he did to Sonny, Garron and the other Good brothers.

I can't say that I enjoyed the main couple in this book, but there's possibly a good reason for that: I haven't read the other two books and therefor haven't watched things develop between the two. The reason I picked this one up was because of the trio (Nate, Rio, and Ryan). This book is clearly not meant as a stand-alone because it took me several chapters go wrap my head around what was happening and why. For that reason I'm not retracting a star because of confusion.

The reason why this isn't getting five stars is because I never saw any "love" between the main couple - it was often said, but never truly shown, and I never bonded with either character. Again, this may be because I haven't read the other two books, but still, I thought it was lacking a lot of emotion.

The trio's story, however...OMG! I absolutely adore that couple (triple?). There were definitely emotions there and the interaction between Nate and Rio just before the club is one of my favorite scenes by Carol Lynne. Jeez, my stomach was all twisted in knots.

Anyway, I ate this book up last night to moved on to Cattle Valley 22 this morning - the last book that stars the trio, I think (but hope not!).

This is book 3 of a series and you do need to read these in order. Rawley has just lost his job and moved in with Jeb. Though he has made the step to be with Jeb he is still hiding. Jeb having been in a relationship with a closeted man doesn’t want another but he thinks Rawley is worth waiting for. Their relationships still has its ups and downs as Rawley keeps learning more about himself and his love for Jeb and his family. He is still set on finding his brothers shooter and getting his job back as Sherriff.
This book is mostly about Rawley and his inner turmoil’s. I have to say that I thought he was a conceited, stubborn jerk..
We get more of Garron and Sonny as Sonny still struggles with his health. Then there is Nate and Rio heating things up. (for those of you that are familiar with Carol Lynne, these names will be very familiar to you)There is lots of action, drama, and plenty of hot man-sex.
I love this series and this book.
If you like cowboys, lawmen, family drama, coming out, and of course some hot man-sex this is a must read series!

Let me just start off by saying that I hate cheaters and homewreckers. That being said, this was a good book up until Nate, the slutty homewrecker that he is, decided to go after someone who was already taken. It really bothered me that he would do that to someone who is a friend of a friend that they are trying to help out. Because of that whole issue it clouded the rest of the book. I don't dig that kind of crap in my books and it was really hard for me to see past the homewrecking.

I've already read their story and I liked it but reading how it came to be what it is really had me greatful that I didn't read this book first. I probably wouldn't have like the first CV book had I read this first...

The main couple in this book, Rawley and Jeb, got overshadowed by the Nate/Rio/Ryan trio. The trio held my attention more than the couple. Rawley was an interesting character. He's 36 and only now realizes he's attracted to men, namely Jeb. So the first time he sucks Jeb off he just loves the taste of Jeb's seed. That had me rolling my eyes.

It was refreshing to have Rawley question his manhood if he allowed Jeb to fuck him. "I love Jeb, and only Jeb, but if I allow him to do . . . that, I'll look at myself as a gay man instead of just a man." That was a great conversation Rawley had with Garron.

Next in the series will be my first twincest book. Yikes!

Short and sweet in a completely naughty sort of way. There's nothing to dislike about this little story. Not sure if I'm reading in order, but I've a feeling for this story, order is irrelevant. It's about a man and his harley riding love interest, and how they find each other without having to look very hard. There's little conflict, next to no soul searching, but oodles of sexy action. A nice, spicey read for a day when you just need a little pick-me-up. These guys certainly got that part right!!!

Another very compelling read by Ms. Lynne. Rawley has just come to accept that he’s in love with a man, and this to him threatens his masculinity. Rawley’s determination to bring his brother’s shooter to justice is a continuing theme in this book. Once again the sex is explicit, with definite male / male contact. This story is about learning that it’s okay to open yourself completely with the one you love.

These and a couple other editing snafus. Otherwise the story is interesting. Rawley really struggles with things most men his age would already have figured out.

I enjoyed Rawley & Jeb's story, but to be honest, my favorite was seeing how Nate, Rio and Ryan met and fell for each other. Rawley was a bit of a whiny-pants about some things and that irritated me. The plot with the bad guys was fairly predictable, but the sex was hot and the love was sweet.
