Connor was staring at me like he couldn’t decide whether to kiss me or run me over with his car.
An arrogant, domineering, condescending dickhead! Perfect words to describe my new stepbrother. I wanted to hate him, but in spite of his cruel treatment of me, I felt an overwhelming attraction. What girl wouldn’t? Six foot two, with a face that was flawlessly crafted and a ripped body boasting shoulders broad enough to carry a mountain of problems. Which they did. The guy was damaged goods and yet I couldn’t seem to fight this all-consuming need to figure him out; to dig deep and cut through the bullshit to the source of his pain.
When a girl meets a misunderstood bad-boy, she has a burning desire to fix him; even though she knows it will all end in tears.
Unfortunately for me, Connor Barratt may be the one boy that cannot be saved.
But I have to try.
PERFECT adjective
Having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.
When pretty, over indulged city girl Harlow Williams travels to spend the summer with her father on a farm in Yorkshire, nothing is guaranteed to run smoothly.
Struggling to adjust to rural living and rivalry; Harlow must battle against demons hidden in a place full of twisted secrets.
Connor Barratt is her polar opposite; hard, brooding and dangerous. A tower of brutal strength, granite to her porcelain.
Thrown together, sparks fly in a clash of wills as one determined beauty battles to reveal the harsh truth behind one boy’s tortured past.
Can Harlow break through the ice that guards Connor’s heart and will she embrace the fact that perfection, usually comes at a price.
I really wanted to be able to explore different genres more and read a book that isn’t my typical go to. Well I think I’m a convert, I really loved this book and couldn’t put it down.
It is such a well written story and so sensitively handled by the author. The two main characters were so well drawn I found it easy to empathise with both of them, the way their story unfolds is turbulent but beautiful.
I have no trouble recommending this book to other readers as it’s a real gem. I am waiting in anticipation for the next instalment. I can’t wait to see how the author navigates through the “three is a crowd conundrum.”
Enjoyed this book. Set on a farm in rural England, the story follows a teenage city girl who goes to spend her summer vacation on her dad's farm - duck out of water scenario (mum and dad have split and dad has remarried). This is very much a hate turns to love story with the two main characters not seeing eye to eye. Harlow is a likeable girl even though she comes from a privileged background who stands up to her new stepbrother Connor (who is the usual dark brooding type, too sexy for his own good). Sparks definitely fly and there is some great banter, Harlow has a great sense of humor, left me chuckling throughout the entire story. Great plotline with a realistic backstory. Would recommend!
DNF 7% couldn’t take anymore description of how hot MMC was and how unwillingly attracted to him the FMC found herself. Literally the entire 7%. Also, no editing.
Really enjoyed this story. It involves a sweet girl who goes to spend the summer on her father's farm. Her new stepbrother has major issues and dislikes her straight away, and so spends a good half of the book being an absolute arse to her (bully romance). This is a good story for those who like a female who is kind and sweet, and not as tough as nails, like some MFCs are written. I did yell at the book a couple of times, telling her to get a backbone, but her gentleness was still endearing.
MMC is hiding a horrible past, but stick with him. He does make things right in the end. No cliffhanger.
Well written and easy to read. Read this over the New Year in one day!
This is a standalone, but part of a series. I will be reading the others to find out more about this couple.
It kept me interested 90% of the time. Quite a few grammar errors. Lots of wasted fillee words and repetiveness. Im disappointed with the no action at the end . I held out hope right to the end but was let down. Highly recommend this story though because it was sweet.
Very well written. I would classify this as erotica without sex. A coming of age love story. Passion is plentiful, kissing, violence, but no real intercourse. Excellent story.
This romance novel was sweet, heartfelt and romantic. Very well written with in depth characters. I enjoyed perfect Ella and how she refused on giving up on Conner. Ella was determined to figure Connor out and she did.
I started reading other books from the same author on wattpad and I downloaded this one on my kindle. I am a sucker for the stepbrother/sister trope so really enjoyed this one. I also just really like her writing style!
Great story, was drawn in by the characters. Set in rural Yorkshire on a farm. Pretty spoiled rich girl goes to stop with her daddy and his new wife (and her sexy-as-hell son). Connor is damaged goods and is determined to hate Harlow and make her life on the farm as difficult as possible. Definite love/hate relationship. She is out of her comfort zone but is just what Connor needs. A sweet, stunning pretty girl to heal his wounds (which go deeper than the surface). Mild themes of abuse, sexual content, no major triggers in this story. Great fight scene! It is sweet, well written with a happy-ever ending. Part of a trilogy.
Good book. Characters are realistic and have depth and the scenario between them is believable for this type of romance. Easy, quick read. Does what it says on the tin. Sweet, pretty heroine who has had an easy life, meets aggressive, brooding sexy male. Stepbrother bully story, heroine feisty. Some great other characters.
Lots of pretty people, sexual chemistry, fights, arguments and the unravelling of one truly messed up sexy male. All set in Yorkshire.
Loving this series so far and I will be downloading the next one! Looking forward to finding out more from Nate and the gang. Read on the authors website that there are to be 4 books in the series!!!!!
This had everything I love in a book, from swoon to angst, to family secrets!
This book has everything you could ever want in a good story and the main characters give you proper escapism. Perfect pretty society girl meets rough, hot, farm boy with a dark past.
The banter is excellent and she really does give as good as she gets!
Loved it. Realistic characters. Sweet beautiful heroine meets (boy boy), dark and brooding bossy stepbrother. Set on a farm in a village, female thrown out of her element. Page turner, read over two days. Loads of chemistry between main characters. Would have liked it to have been a longer story but the main characters are in the next book.
Downloaded this on Kindle in the mood for a good hate to love romance, and wasn't disappointed. As the titles states it was perfect. The characters were relatable and easy to like, and you couldn’t help but start rooting for them. I also enjoyed the depth of this story. I was pulled into it right away. Sexy alpha farm boy and sweet innocent city girl.
