Queen Clarion is missing! One minute Prilla was flying right behind her, then POOF!—the queen was gone. Meanwhile, someone has taken the precious heart seed from Lily’s rare Fairy Pink rose. Could the queen’s disappearance and the stolen heart seed be connected? With the help of Lily and Beck, Prilla follows clues that Queen Clarion has left behind. The trail leads them all the way to the mysterious High Tree Forest. Prilla knows the queen is somewhere in the vast, dark forest. But how will they ever find her?
Reading Tales of Pixie Hollow books to cleanse my soul.
Okay but honestly, younger me had such a bad taste? This was her favourite book out of all of them? Really?
I mean, I do like the idea, Queen Clarion is acting weird and then she disappears! I just think the ending is really boring. I am convinced that is not the ending I read as a child. I wish to live in delusion, thank you very much <3
It's probably because I'm not the target audience, but this book was so boring plot wise. It felt like only 2 events happened - the rest of the book was focused on the fairies floating in the wind. It definitely felt like a filler episode on a kids' tv show. Most Disney Fairy books have some kind of plot & character arc, but this book lacked both. Hanging out with fairies in Pixie Hollow is always a vibe, so I wasn't miserable while reading it. But I did wonder if the story was ever going to pick up
Fairly standard entry in the Disney FairiesTales of Pixie Hollow series. I read a bunch of them when our girls were young, but found this one around the house today and read ut before donating it to the library.
Better than the Rainbow Magic series of stories, but still pretty formulaic.
My daughter loves this series. I chose to read Queen Clarion's Secret because it is one of her favorites. Prilla was flying right behind the queen, when suddenly, "POOF!" The beautiful queen disappeared. Also missing is the precious heart seed from Lily's rare fairy pink rose. Are these two mysteries related? Of course they are. Other fairies help follow the clues Queen Clarion left behind. The feminine fairies end up in a scary setting called High Tree Forest. They have to try to find the queen in a big, dark, scary forest.
Even though the story is very predictable and the characters are two dimensional, compared to other similar books I enjoyed this book. There is a main plot and a sub-plot, which I don't often find in books written at a second or third grade reading level (2.9 to be precise).
I wish were more than one or two pictures per chapter, because they are beautiful and colorful. The cartoon illustrations are from the same style as Tinkerbell (the Peter Pan spinoff) and create a happy feeling for their far-off adventure. I suspect most second or third grade girls would love this series for fun, fantasy reading. Reading my daughter's book made me want to fly!
This is the 16th book in the Tales of Pixie Hollow Series but it is the first book in which the character on the cover, and title, is not from their point of view. It is in the point of view of Prilla who notices that the Queen and the precious magical heart seed is missing.
As always the images are beautifully drawn. The story is sweet. I am a fan of Prilla the clumsy (their word for humans) fairy. Prilla runs into Lily and Beck. Beck is a animal fairy who can talk to all animals and talking to frogs is a hoot!
I was hoping this was a story featuring the Queen as the main character but sometimes you can not have everything. We get to hear little about Mother Dove which makes up a little for the lack in Queen Clarion’s story.
I love the Disney Fairies movies but I the books I enjoy more because there are more fairies and other characters then the movies. My wish is that the books continue to be on bookstore shelves for a long time to always enjoy.
On an exceptionally windy day, a fairy named Prilla sees Queen Clarion do something unusual and tries to follow. Losing track of her, she shares her concern with a few friends, who help her try to track down the missing royal.
Color me impressed. Set in Peter Pan's Neverland, these are well-written and beautifully illustrated. I'll be picking up more of these titles so I can read the series from its beginning.
Contrary to the title, the narrative voice is Prilla, my personal favorite fairy in all of Pixie Hollow. And there's no real lesson here (other than to trust your leader/Queen?), but rather an imaginative adventure story. There's a bit of additional world-building, with the friendship between Earth and Sky, or rather, Mother Dove and Sky Bird, and their middle man, er, fairy, Queen Clarion. Cute story, starring the cutest little clumsy fairy.
These books got much better as they went along, and now I think I could pick up any of them and enjoy them, which was my original wish.
In this story Queen Clarion disappears and so does the heart seed. Three of the fairies join forces to find her and rescue her if necessary. They end up going on quite an adventure and they have to rely on each fairy's special gifts to get there.
I read this to my 4 year old, she loved it! We’ve tried chapter books before & she was too young. But this one she could follow most of it & it had beautiful pictures that she loved!
A good adventure story for young readers, as three fairies go on a little quest in search of their missing queen. They encounter some dangers along the way, and the author does a good job of creating some tense moments and describing unique settings.
I had thought this would be from Queen Clarion’s point of view, but near the end of the novel, we learn that queens “must keep their thoughts to themselves. So we cannot know what Queen Clarion was thinking.” It casts Queen Clarion as an adult and the fairies as children.
I only have a few more books in this series to track down and read—trying to read them all this year, which is proving tricky as they’re all out of print. I got this one via interlibrary loan, and may have to break down and buy the eBooks of one or two. (I don’t generally like reading eBooks, a personal preference.)
idk this one was kinda lost on me. for a book about queen clarion, she doesn’t appear for most of the book. and yeah i guess it’s about her secret, but typically we learn more about the fairies’ personalities and day-to-day life in these books, and i feel like this was more of a book about prilla. thank goodness for the new pixie hollow books coming out, otherwise queen clarion would never get her chance to shine
This was interesting to see the way the fairies work together and help each other. Also that Prilla is so curious and really was worried for the Queen. This was a grand adventure for Beck, Lily and Prilla they really worked together to find the Queen to make sure that she was safe, also about sharing important things with those friends you don't see often. Very enjoyable and brilliant.
My rating is more like 3.5. It was a cute story in Pixie Hollow. Prilla needs to find Queen Clarion and learns to lean on the strengths of her friends and trust them to help her find the royal. You learn a little more back story about Mother Dove. The overall story built anticipation but then left me wanting. I didn’t learn anything about Queen Clarion and I was hoping to.
girl couldn’t you have at least told Lily what you were up to before stealing from her garden and worrying several of your subjects causing them to chase after you and repeatedly put their lives in danger
Disappointed that the pov is Prilla and not Queen Clarion. But still better than many of this series as well as not quite as good as others. Somewhere solidly in the middle.
It was my first Pixie Hollow book to read and learn the inner workings of the Fairies. It was fun, relaxing reading for an adult. I will be reading another one soon.
