Ava

How can a man claim a spot in her memory after one conversation? Forcing him from her mind, Ava moves out of state for an incredible job offer. Big mistake! With a new nightmarish position, Ava’s health deteriorates. When she has to return home to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding, she wonders if Colt will still look at her the same way he did the night they met? One thing she knows for sure is that she’s ready to come home to Seattle for good.

Colt

The small, pixie-like woman with the killer smile has lingered in his thoughts since the night at Shadows. When she disappeared before he could get her number, Colt didn’t let that stop him from keeping tabs on her. That’s his specialty. His Daddy radar tells him something is seriously wrong, and he wants nothing more than to step in and take care of her. Could the wedding be the chance he needs to make her his Little girl?

I’m sorry to say this book is by far the most disappointing in the series, especially because I’ve been looking forward to it since Colt and Ava met in book 1. In general, I am usually a big fan of the overbearing, strict Daddy and I have loved all the ones in this series(every other book has gotten 5 stars), but this one just didn’t work for me. And I will be totally honest some of the things I didn’t like are gonna probably sound nitpicky but all of it really took me out of the story.

First of all, I’m not a fan of the fact that he spent months and months watching her door camera and then never bothered to come clean. If it had been a shorter amount of time and he had admitted to it before Ava found out on her own, I might have felt differently. What should have happened IMO is after Addie mentioned being worried about Ava and he saw her on the camera and confirmed that she didn’t look good, he should have asked Addie for her phone number and reached out to her. Communication in this type of relationship is critical and Colt failed at that big time. The only slightly redeeming part to this whole conflict(which is the reason that this book gets 2 stars and not just 1) is that Colt does not try to punish Ava for her response to his fuckup.

The rest of the stuff that bothered me is the more nitpicky stuff I mentioned. This is something that has happened in other books in the series, but it felt more frequent in this one. There is a whole range of options between “enthusiastic yes” and safewording. There were several times that Ava pushed back about non-safety related things and Colt’s response was pretty much always “safeword or obey” which IMO weaponizes the safeword and makes it seem like a negative thing. An example of this was his insistence on being in the bathroom with her. She clearly wasn’t comfortable. Why couldn’t they have started with the door open and then worked up to him actually being in the room?

Next problem I had is as somebody who is both a little and chronically ill, there is a fine line between taking care of someone who is sick and infantilizing them in a bad way. To me, quite a bit of Colt’s behavior fell into the latter category. And if someone tried to punish me because I didn’t like the way they were “helping” with MY illness? I’d be gone in an instant.

The final problem had to do with Colt controlling Ava’s diet for the first half of the story. First of all, even people who are sick are allowed to have food preferences. Second, and this part is likely on the author more than anything, Colt was not following a diet that a doctor would actually recommend. Based on Ava’s symptoms the two most likely diets that would be suggested are either low FODMAP or potentially even the BRAT diet and the vast majority of the foods that Colt feeds Ava do not fit either of those. And even if the suggested diet wasn’t quite as restrictive as either of those, the last thing a doctor would suggest is cruciferous vegetables like broccoli or cauliflower. Of all vegetables, they are by far the hardest to digest no matter how plainly you cook them. Like I said, nitpicky, but on top of everything else it really got on my nerves.

2.5* Some of it was really bad, but Ava is a lot stronger than others and I liked her.

Ava is Addie’s best friend. When she meets Colt in the first book, they feel a connection, but Ava moves away not long after for work. Colt has become obsessed with Ava, and has been watching her through her doorbell camera for months. He claims it’s because he’s worried about her, as Ava is struggling with her job. 🤔 Not sure I liked that part. It feels a bit to stalkerish. When Ava comes back home for a visit for Addie and Knox’s wedding, Colt is determined that he’ll win her over.

I think I actually enjoyed this book more than the others. Yes there are some cringy parts, I really don’t like some of the ‘little girl stuff.’ Ava is stronger, and has a career of her own. I liked that. It gave her more of a character. Colt out of all the brothers is the more laid back one, and Ava gets away with way more than the others. There are some really funny parts in the book too. I really laughed at one point.

COMPLAINING PART. Sorry. 🤣
WHAT DOES COLT LOOK LIKE?? There’s no description of him at all!! On the cover he’s wearing a hoodie so that doesn’t help either. How old is Colt? What does Ava look like? How old is Ava? They’re the basic things readers want to know in a book. It’s so annoying.
There’s a lot of missing details in the book as well. What was Colt’s childhood like? Where are his parents? Did he have brothers or sisters? The same with Ava. Is she an only child? It just fills people’s characters out, so that we can engage with them more. Then there are the minor details, like she’s always hair free, yet she never shaves.

Having said all that, I did enjoy it.

3.5 stars.
Really enjoyed seeing Colt get his girl.
Not gonna lie though. I kind of wish her reaction to some of his actions hadn’t been the climax of the book, the big obstacle for them to get around.
Maybe I just read too many darker books, but I think she totally overreacted.🤷🏻‍♀️(I mean. If it was real life I could totally see her reaction being rational, but it’s not) I was kind of bummed by that.

But still.
The rest of it was really sweet and entertaining.
So I’d still call it a win.

Daddy Colt finally taking his shot with Ava was freaking perfect. Especially when he had to forcefully take care of her in the beginning of there dynamic!!! I also dislike the fact that they actually separated in this one and she pushed him away instead of letting him explain before thinking the worst. Though I feel like she’s one of the best behaved girls. I feel like the more I read of this series the more invested I’m becoming.

Colt and Ava… let’s just say laws were definitely broken in this love story.
Ava left her home state for an amazing job offer that promised great opportunities in her chosen field. There was just one problem—her boss turned out to be the boss from hell. Forced to work herself to the bone, Ava wasn’t taking care of herself, and it didn’t take long for her to realize that her job was toxic. Ready to leave it all behind, she returns home for her best friend’s wedding and finds herself wondering about the groom’s brother. Before leaving for her job, she and Colt shared one conversation, and she hasn’t been able to get him out of her mind since.
Months ago, Colt met Ava when she tagged along with his brother’s then-girlfriend, now fiancée. From that moment, he was hooked. Colt and his brothers have been through a lot and seen things that shaped them in unique ways. When Addie, Ava’s best friend and Colt’s future sister-in-law, expressed concern for Ava, Colt decided to keep an eye on her—his way.
This book is a prime example of things that are okay in fiction but definitely not okay in real life. Colt’s methods of watching over Ava toe the line of being outright stalkerish, but at least it’s clear his actions come from a place of love.
Personally, I loved the story and enjoyed every moment of it. That said, if anything like this happened to me, I’d be running to the police station without hesitation!

Colt

Tw: st*lking, ab*se, chronic illness(IBS)

I’ve been waiting for a 3rd act breakup and I’m not surprised it came in this book with how he was watching her but I still don’t enjoy them. I just knew it would happen. It seemed like it would need to. Was a little disappointed in how she seemed to gain her trust back in him so quickly. I was kinda hoping to see them have to build more trust again because it would seem to be very important.
That being said I enjoyed the book a lot and was excited for colt!!! I’ve been waiting since book one teased this. It did not disappoint (other than the break up).
Now I don’t have IBS(but I know many people and I have a chronic illness myself) and it seemed odd to me that she just like suddenly didn’t have it or did but also I know they talked about this as stress induced so maybe it’s different than just having it always? Again no expert here just not what I’m used to when it comes to chronic illnesses.
But I did love Ava! She was fun and feisty and that was great.

Tropes: touch her and d!e, light st*lking of her, he fell first, insta connection, protective MMC, hurt/comfort, definitely know there’s more but cannot for the life of me think of them…

Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Sweetness: 💗💗💗
Sweet man who comes off a tad creepy: 👀

Colt is the seventh book in Kate Oliver's Daddies of the Shadows collection. Continuity of characters throughout the series to date allows readers to develop a strong connection as each character's story is told. Although not always operating within the strict limits of the law, this family is bonded together in their dedication of righting wrongs and saving women and children. Each story tells of a strong Daddy who is drawn to his forever Little girl and the struggles he faces to make and keep her safe, even if from herself.

Colt knows he has met his Little girl, Ava, and feels drawn to saving her from all the medical tolls plaguing her body as a result of the continuous verbal abuse from her boss. Ava is drawn to Colt, and her life and health improves until she discovers he had been watching her. Then her trust and faith in him becomes broken. Can Ava set aside her fears and allow Colt to be her saving Daddy?

Kate Oliver has done it again, giving us a story that shows how obstacles in life can be overcome through trust, faith, and love. Well done!

Insta-love within the Shadows

Colt meets the expectations of The Daddies of the Shadows series.
Ava and Colt have an instant attraction to each other but it could be a little to late.
Ava accepts what she believes is her dream job in California and moves her whole life away from Seattle, her best friend Addie and a chance at a forever Daddy. But what she thought was a chance for A lifetime turns into her biggest nightmare.
Stress from working for an impossible boss makes Ava a very sick and unhappy Little.
From the second Colt lays eyes on Ava he knows she is meant to be his, but life takes Ava far away and his possible forever with her.
Addie and Knox's wedding brings Ava back to Seattle and gives Colt a chance to show her he is the Daddy she always needed and wants. The stress from the job is making Ava sick and Colt is determined to make her better. Unfortunately a secret Colt has been keeping threatens to tear the two apart before they can give their live a chance.
You need to grab Colt to see if he and Ava finally get their happily ever after.

Addie's friend, Ava, is coming back to Seattle for Knox and Addie's wedding. She's been working in California for a lawyer that will look impressive on her resume. Colt was attracted to Ava when they met and, being a IT guru, he has been watching over Ava via her doorbell. When Ava comes home, she is tired and sick. Colt takes it upon himself to help her get better. When she finds out he has been watching her, will that be the end of her and Colt? Will Colt let her go?

I enjoyed this story. I liked that there was a connection from before this story between Ava and Colt. I understand Colt's watching over her though it is creepy when Ava finds out. I like that Ava does not make it easy for Colt. He has to prove his is worthy of Ava, not that he is the Daddy for her. I like the byplay between Ava and Hawk. And what they do to his truck is a hoot! I was glad Ava got the chance to be a little with the rest of the girls. I loved what happened to Ava's boss.

I am loving this series so much.

Colt is the newest addition to the Daddies of the Shadow Series by the amazing Kate Oliver. Wvery time I think I know which character will be my favorite she brings a new one that blows me away. Colt is an IT tech that has been looking for his Little for awhile now. He happened to meet the girl he knew was the one several months ago. The problem? She moved and took a job in another state. When his brother's Little mentions she is worried about Ava, Colt does what he is good at...he keeps an eye on her. And he does not like what he sees. An exhausted woman whose job is beginning to affect her health. When Ava returns for the wedding and gets sick, Colt has the chance to be her Daddy. But keeping a secret from her causes her to run away. Colt immediately goes to her and tries to talk to her. But like alot of littles....she is a stubborn one. Eventually she realizes that they need to talk and they work things out. Colt is able to claim his forever Little.

Kate Oliver's latest installment in her Daddies Of The Shadows series is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Colt and Ava's story had me laughing hysterically one minute, and crying/sobbing the next!

Colt is in IT, and can hack into any computer system known to man. Out of all of his brothers, Colt seems to be the quietest, but underneath all that quietness, lurks a dirty talking Daddy Dom. He's sweet, but strict at the same time. Wonderful combination!!!!!

Ava is a sassy Little who desperately needs a Daddy Dom to protect and love her. After just one short conversation with Colt several months ago, she can't get him out of her head. When she goes back to attend her best friend's wedding, fate intervenes, and the insta attraction from months ago bursts to life again.

Can they have the happily ever after, or will a secret tear them apart??? Pick up a copy of Colt, and find out for yourself. I promise, you won't regret it!

Colt is the seventh installment of Kate Oliver’s Daddies of the Shadows series. In it she chronicles the age-play romantic journey of Ava and Colt. She is an legal assistant with a firm in California. She left behind her best friend, Addie. Colt is a computer genius who works with his brothers in surveillance and security for both legal and illegal clients. Readers witness how their journey proceeds and what happens when Ava feels betrayed by Colt and her best friend Addie. To find out how this fiasco is faced, you have to read this book.
I find BB Oliver’s writing style easy to follow. Her characters are likeable and multi-dimensional. The storyline is enjoyable with a perfect blend of drama, romance, and suspense. The plot is well thought out. I liked her use of a two-prong plot line. One follows Ava and Colt’s romantic journey. The other is the intrigue behind their internal emotional struggles as they navigate their future within these challenges. Nicely done!

Review: Colt.
( Daddies Of The Shadows # 7 )
By: Kate Oliver.
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ARC Copy.

We are back in the world of Daddies Of The Shadows! Where these daddies are dark, dirty, and dangerous. Unless you’re a little girl, then they’re there for you!

I love this book world so much! Each book gets more interesting as you go and I can’t wait for more. I’m so excited for Hawke and Angels books! The reason I gave Colt a 4/5 rating is because while I love this whole series and the characters in it, Colt and Ava just wasn’t my favorite couple. But the plot? Really good.

Ava is the best friend of one of Colts brothers Little and that’s how they fist meet. It only takes one conversation for them both to see that they could be more. But then Ava moves away before Colt could do more. That doesn’t stop him though!

What another great addition to this series! My heart is so full! When I started reading Colt’s story, I just couldn’t put it down. He is handsome, smart and charming and fiercely protective of those he loves. When he first met Ava he just knew she was the Little for him, but she didn’t live in the same State. So he decided to check on her in the way he knew how, but didn’t think about the possible repercussions. Ava is a beautiful young woman who has been looking for a Daddy. Could Colt be the one? When she comes for her best friends wedding, these two connect and embark on a relationship. She is feisty and gives him a run for money! These two made me laugh so many times. And their chemistry is so sizzling my kindle almost caught on fire. I loved reading about their adventures and enjoyed this story so much!!

Colt finally gets his own Little!

Colt seems to take care of everyone else. When they need surveillance or someone tracked, they call him first. He’s watched his brothers get their Littles and found the one he wants, but he only gets to watch her from a camera. When he finally gets her close enough to touch, he won’t lose her. Ava liked what she saw when she met Colt, but she has a new job and new life. It really sucks, but she is too stubborn to admit it. Her best friend’s wedding gives her the chance to see him again, and he takes control. They are so awesome together. She fits perfectly with the other Littles, and you can’t help but love the brothers. Loved getting to know Colt and catching a glimpse of Chase and Tate. Bring on Hawk!

So we've been waiting a while for these two to get together right?!? Colt met Ava in the first book when Addie and her went out clubbing to Shadows. Since then he hasn't been able to keep her off his mind. Ava moved away shortly after Addie got with Knox. She misses her friend! She thinks about Knox's brother all the time too which doesn't help matters. But she's trying to be a big girl and prove herself in her new job. When wedding bells ring for Addie and Knox, Ava goes home to go to the wedding but it's evident that she has worked herself into the ground. Colt just wants to take care of her, so he does that against her poor excuses. I loved that the 'danger' in this book was different i.e the thing that could tear them apart wasn't what I was expecting.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been excited for Colt and Ava since they first met in Knox and Addie's book. And honestly, not sure it lived up in my opinion. I don't need there to be the big dangerous drama for these books to work (you know, save the girl from the bad man type), but the conflict just felt...forced. Stress induced IBS, I understand that. But "oh my clearly overly protective Daddy was watching me for my well being while I lived in Cali and thus I must run away"? Talk about an over-reaction. I was glad that have Ava the opportunity to tell off her boss in person. I know she was supposed to be written as over-the-top bitchy...but sorry, NO ONE would continue to work in that type of environment. Ava is supposed to be smart and strong, and thus I had a hard time believing that she would subject herself to that working situation. I was glad to see that at least Colt didn't punish her for running away...given that he was the cause of that. I would not have been okay with that (clearly still bitter about Ash and Kylie).

3/5 stars. I have read it, I liked it...I don't need to read it again.

only 4 star in the series

First this is NOT a bad book. I simply did not like Ava. LOVED Colt such an amazing character. I didn’t mind that Ava was a bit of a brat but her over reaction to Colt & Addie keeping tabs on her was just stupid. It’s not like they had cameras in her bathroom or closet. Sorry you can’t be down for a relationship with someone who wipes your bum but freak out when you find out they watched you puke on your sidewalk or fall asleep in your car in a shitty neighborhood and want to take you away from a situation that was slowly killing you. Still can’t wait for Hawks story!

2.5/5 ⭐️

This book was quite different from the others. Definitely more smut and less connection. I didn’t hate it but I wish we got to know the characters a bit more. The timeline felt a bit off as well.

I absolutely loved the truck and water balloon fight with Hawk and can’t wait for his book.

Ava was a very sassy and naughty little, which I think worked great with her dynamic with Colt, and he was very loving and sweet. I didn’t like how he would always bring up the importance of communication but it felt like they never really did and things could have been different. Loved the bitch of a boss getting her karma and I guess we’ll be seeing more of Chase soon…

Wow! Colt captured everything I expected him to be. He’s possessive, protective, caring, strict and the perfect Daddy for Ava. She is sassy, sweet, a little bratty but falls in trouble in California. Colt being the best Daddy ever does something he shouldn’t. But he only is doing it to protect her. As soon as he sees her, the instant attraction is back. He takes care of her and help her get better in all areas of her life. But when the secret he's been holding comes out before he can tell her, she freaks out. Can't he win her over? Heck yes! Daddy Colt doesn’t take no for an answer.

Wow!
Let me start by saying that I LOVE Colt’s filthy mouth! The sex scenes were hot! I love that he talked about breeding her and watching her belly swell with his baby! I also believe he is the first brother to express interest in actual children which I think is great.  Just because you are into a lifestyle  does not mean you can’t raise a family too.
I think this book is another winner! I enjoyed reading it just as much as I have enjoyed the previous books and I will impatiently wait for the next book to come out!

A rocky road to an HEA

Ava , she smart sassy and likes to be a bit of a brat. When Ava and Colt first met the chemistry and attravtion was there. Howver Colt found out she had moved to a new job, a new job that saw Ava gettin very sick with stress. So when she went back home for Addie and Knoxs wedding ,it was colt who claimed her as his little. But Colt has a little secret find out more what happen when she finds out.

I loved this story for Ava and Colt, love and laughter cant go past a little and her daddy. Im looking forward to seeing Hawks story next.

Colt and Ava

I’m a huge fan of the series and they just keep getting better. Colt is a bit over the top - protective, caring, loveable and kind he’s been attracted to Ava since meeting her but has never acted on it always sitting back and watching from the sidelines or from the video doorbell of hers that he hacked.

Dealing with work stress, medical issues, betrayal, heart break and love this book has it all and it was lovely to read not only the book but the development of Hawk for his book. There were some seriously cute and funny moments.

and another one bites the dust!

Oh good gracious me, oh, my! This BOOK!
Random thoughts I had while reading:
“That is so freaking sweet!”
“OMG! How did he get even MORE hot?”
“Uh, oh.”
“That is freaking hysterical!”
“Oooooh, YAS! Girl, make him work for that ish!”
“That is straight up GOLD!”
“Oh, man…. They’re in so much trouble!”
“This was the best one yet!”

I figure my random thoughts say it all! 😆 This was another amazing addition to a fabulous series and I absolutely can’t wait for the next one!

Another fantastic story

I absolutely loved Colt and Ava's story. Their chemistry was great, it was a very low angst story, and a super sweet ending that wrapped everything nicely. Lots of cameos from other characters in this series and a little bit of a tease for Hawk's upcoming story (not anything concrete just setting the tone a bit which is nice but also not nice since I'm already waiting anxiously) I love everything Kate writes and I'm looking forward to Hawk's story

Another Sweet Little

I'm not sure how she does it, but with each book in the Daddies of the Shadows series Kate Oliver manages to keep it fun, fresh, and heartwarming. It was so exciting to finally see Colt and Ava come together - and their story did not disappoint! All the Daddying and Naughty girl shenanigans I've come to love in these books plus the super spicey spiciness. I can't wait to read the next one!

Intense ~

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was way more intense than the other stories, so far. Her horrible job and boss, so over the top in a horrible way, to the point that her health seriously suffered. His stalkerish tendencies, borderline invasion of privacy was way over the top. But that was their dynamic and it worked for them. Their epilogue was, well, just like them.

So good

Every one of these books have been so good. Can't wait for the next one. Sorry that I'm getting close to the end of the series. I haven't read anything else for a week now. Dominant alpha daddies. All brothers with their own story, who interact with each other. These books are so good. Some Laughs, some sadness, always super hot times, little drama. N great HEAs.
