Two star-crossed hearts share a connection that’s over a hundred years in the making…
Merrick Forrester doesn’t do relationships. Not anymore.
After enduring multiple heartbreaks, he’s convinced that everything beautiful eventually starts to rot. So when he meets the captivating and mysterious Drue Hart, he does his best to avoid her—that is, until he discovers the secret she carries. It’s then he decides getting close to her is worth the danger to his heart.
Drue Hart is finally ready to put old ghosts to rest when she returns to her hometown after spending many years abroad. But when she meets Merrick, the past rises to haunt her once again. The handsome realtor inserts himself into her life, but something about him unsettles her, despite the magnetic attraction they share.
When their ethereal connection grows too great to ignore, Merrick and Drue must decide what they’re willing to give up for love. With mystery shrouding Drue’s past and Merrick’s intentions, can they learn to balance the truth with a love that transcends all space and time?
Dulcie is a wife and mother who channels her free spirit into the stories she pours onto the page. Her romance writing obsession turned day job is fueled by caffeine, sarcasm, and kisses from her bearded grump. If you love stories with sizzling tension minus the spice, add her books to your never-ending TBRs.
This was my first book by this author and I must say that I really enjoyed her style of writing. I believe this is a different type of genre that she is used to writing but I found it interesting and intriguing. This is a tale of star-crossed lovers who both have secrets and a very deep attraction to each other.
Drue and Merrick are great together and I love how they relate to each other. The story is filled with themes of loss, faith and romance. I really enjoyed this Romantic Fantasy and look forward to seeing where this series goes!
I received a copy of this book from the author. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I listened to this one on the plane and enjoyed it! I found the premise interesting. Drue is basically immortal (I imagined her as looking like Audrey Hepburn ), but she wasn’t always that way. Her partner discovered a honey that grants long everlasting life while on an excavation, and sneaked it to her without her knowledge. Instead of the two of them living forever together, he died and so she goes on by herself, having to leave a place every so often so they don’t notice she’s not aging. She goes back to her old home place, and ends up falling in love again. Merrick is not ready to give his heart away again, but meeting Drue completely fools that plan. There are journals and “lore” about her, and Merrick’s family knows about her since Drue’s former partner is Merrick’s ancestor. It’s a battle between leaving or staying and loving again; learning to trust that a big secret will be kept and not exploited.
Thank you to @dulciedameron for sending me a copy of the book
I have read a few of Dulcie Dameron’s books and her writing style is soo lovely! She brings her characters to life in a way that makes me immensely wish I started this book in the morning instead of before bed 😊. And with the romance 😍 and Faith elements this book is a great start to her new series!
Highlights: •The great characters that truly grew through the whole story •The Sweet Romance •The questions that made you pause and consider •The world Dulcie Dameron created and immersed me into!
I want to start off by thanking Book of Matches Media and Dulcie Dameron for letting me be part of this book tour and for letting me give my honest review
⭐⭐⭐⭐½
The only issue I had was it did take me a few chapters to get into it but as soon as I did I couldn't put the book down. Merrick Forrester was a fun grumpy character and Drue Hart was a great sunshine character. Grumpy/Sunshine is another one of my favorite book tropes. This read like a wonderful Hallmark Movie and I loved it. This made me made feel so cozy inside and I really can't wait to read book two ASAP.
Read This If Enjoy: •Slow burn romances •Fantasy/magical vibes •Faith element •Soulmates •Sweet/wholesome romances •Small-town vibe
Thoughts: I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I really enjoyed it, it was such a sweet and intriguing story. I really liked the MCs, it was giving grumpy/sunshine trope (which I love).
Also, I don’t know if it was just me or what. But this book was giving me Tuck Everlasting vibes. One of my favorites from my youth!
If you are looking for a romance that is incredibly sweet and wholesome with a little fantasy/magical element, then this is the book for you!
A Drop in Forever is Dulcie Dameron's first book in her newest series, The Honey Legacy.
Visit the small town of Luna Harbor this Fall 🍂🍁 Meet Drue Hart and Merrick Forrester They might have met recently, but it feels like they've met before ... or in another lifetime. ❤️ It's a contemporary book with a dash of magic and faith.
🍯🍯🍯🍯🍯
This take on living forever was fascinating. I loved the magic of this book and I am looking forward to book two. If you enjoyed the Waters in Time series by Jody Hedlund, I think you'll enjoy this one. 😄
Reviewed from and eArc. Thank you, Dulcie! All opinions are my own.
Drue and Merrick meet by fate, and they really have their work cut out for them. Hearts weary from pain and betrayal it’s fun to see them come together and find each other through the pain. I loved the faith element and overall cozy feeling to this story. It was a very sweet, character driven story and I recommend it for sweet romance readers who love a little mystery thrown in there!
I loved this book! Drue’s story is beautiful! I love the fantasy elements. The mysterious honey and the tales passes down for generations. The connection with Merrick is fate. This Fantasy Romance is a stunning story that I know I’ll reread.
I absolutely loved this book!!! I don’t read a lot of fantasy, but couldn’t resist when I found out that Dulcie wrote it! I love the love story between Drue and Merrick! I don’t want to give any spoilers, but you need to check this book out!!
Such a sweet read with twists, turns, and a super unique plot. I absolutely loved this story. If you love redeemable morally gray heroes and innocent heroines, this is a must read.
This is the first book I've read from Dulcie yet, and definitely not the last! I really have no words! Dulcie has done a brilliant work with this book that I can't help but admire! Seriously I fell in love with this book from the start and I was unable to keep my nose out of it until I was done.
The slow-burn romance and Drue's secrets... Oh man! I wasn't able to rest till I found out -till Merrick found out- who she really was! It was so thrilling from the beginning to the end! And I couldn't help but swoon every time Merrick called her "cupcake" !!!
A Drop In Forever was worth a read, and I'll definitely re-read one day! Moreover, I can't wait for the sequel to this, to meet Merrick and Drue again! Just love, love, LOVED IT! This was my first starcrossed lovers romance read and what can I say, it was perfect! Therefore, this book is in my 'I highly recommend you' list!
Thanks Dulcie for giving me a chance to be your ARC reader! It was a great honour and I had such a great time!
This book has an intriguing storyline and premise!
I like that the immortality that was in play here because not aging physically and living forever is interesting to explore.
The romance between Merrick Forrester and Drue Heart was a slow-burn and sweet to read! This is also not a spicy read, but there is definitely tension between Merrick and Drue. I am happy with the ending as well.
I am glad I got a chance to read this and to also get a physical copy! It has a beautiful cover, and I plan to include this in my future book photos!
A Drop in Forever was an interesting and almost adorable romance with fantasy element (low fantasy). It was an intriguing and enjoyable read. I did, however find myself disappointed by the way the story unraveled in the last quarter. Actual Rating:3.5
What a breath of fresh air! I loved everything about this book! I was a little unsure of the genre at first, only because it’s so different than what I’m used to reading. But the writing was so well done! The thing I loved most throughout the book was how cozy and comforting felt. The descriptions were beautiful —the house, the characters, even the dog! It made me feel like I was wrapped in a warm blanket. I had a smile on my face the whole time reading it. I’m so excited that Dulcie is branching out into this genre!
I don’t know what I was fully expecting going into it, but I’m in love with it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶 kissing ❗️death of a loved one ,cheathing (not with main characters)
Magical Realism & Romance Is the best way to describe this book
Read this if you enjoy: - slow burn romance - fantasy/magical vibes - soulmates - faith elements - small town vibe(imagine Gilmore girls & The good Witch) - sweet / wholesome romance
This is a tale of star-crossed lovers who both have secrets and a very deep attraction to each other.
This book really gave me Tuck Everlasting vibes and I loved it!
Drue and Merrick are great together and I love how they relate to each other. The story is filled with themes of loss, faith and romance. (I loved both the MCs) I loved that even with the magical / fantasy elements, the book still held a faith base. My favorite secondary character must be Onyx. I'm looking forward for the rest of this series!

This is such a unique romance and I really enjoyed reading it! Dulcie Dameron’s writing style flows so well, and I had a hard time putting this book down.
I loved the premise of this story, and it made me think a lot about what makes life worth living and the part that death plays in that. Drue and Merrick are both well-written characters, and I appreciated how their growth happened throughout the story.
The ending felt like it wrapped up a little quickly, but I think that’s because I was nervous about the possibility of a cliffhanger. I’m happy to say there is no cliffhanger, though there will be another book! I liked how this book ended, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
First time reading from this author after several friends suggested I give it a try (because they all love my commentaries) the cover caught my eye.
(Yes I realize I already rated another of hers before writing this one, I’ll get to that! We do things backwards round here)
Ahem—WHY are there not more like this? If you’re one of those people who refuses to read a book because they’re self published and not trad—I HAVE NEWS!
Self published authors are becoming SO MUCH BETTER than your trad published. Why? Because they can WRITE WHAT THEY WANT, when they want. Complete control and not the demands of annoying trad pub houses.
This author is the exception. Great overall writing, a little dry in some places, but still drove me to check out her other works! Which are also proving to be just as good! I really hope the author goes more into fantasy like this!
This story was unique and I lived for it when Merrick hit the page er scene haha!
I didn't like this book until about 75% of the way in. Merrick annoyed me with his bad attitude, back and forth behavior and deception. I was also a little weirded out by Drue's age. I kept having to remind myself that she wasn't an elderly woman dating a 30 year old man. I did like the ending. I felt Merrick redeemed himself with Drue and I'm glad he reconciled with his dad. I did think the reconciliation was a bit rushed though. All that said, I'm not confident I would read the next book when it releases.

I have a smile on my face. I just got done reading this, and can't STOP smiling. It's just so...satisfying.
This is Dulcie Dameron's first fantasy book. Her other books have been great, and I have physical copies of them all, but this one is COMPLETELY different. It's a different genre, and her writing has morphed into that style for this book. It seems more sophisticated, I think.
It's a fascinating journey to think about, living forever. Or at least for hundreds of years. How would the world change? What developments-good AND bad-would you experience? How many people would you lose to death? Would you want to let anyone close to you, knowing you'll outlive them?
You know that phrase "book hangover"? Well, I have one now, thanks to this book.
Dulcie captivates with this tale of star-crossed lovers who struggle with their deepening attraction and the secrets they both carry. With touches of magical and time-traveling elements, Dulcie weaves together an intriguing story of loss, love, and the innate human desire to live forever.
I so enjoyed this book. There is so much more to it than just romance. The characters are each battling with these huge moral questions with no easy answer. It was intriguing and I'm not sure if I've read anything quite like it before.
If you love morally gray characters, magical elements, faith, soulmates, and more, then you will love this book.
* I received an ARC from the author. All opinions are my own.
Magical realism - so contemporary world with just a dash of magic ✨️. Protective, grumpy, realtor hero. Light Mystery. Fall/hits Halloween/Thanksgiving. 🍂 Soul mates. Light faith elements. Dual POV.
So cozy! Omgoodness the amount of coziness! It was like a warm hug. 🥰 I finished this a few weeks ago and I'm STILL thinking about it! You know those stories that just stick with you? The writing is just gorgeous. I can't say too much about the story itself or it would spoil things! I definitely recommend it!!
💙 Romantic Content: Just kisses.
🎧 Audio narration was amazing! She really nailed the whole vibe of the story!
"I think your soul is made of stars Drue Hart, because everything in you lights up my darkness."
This book is so amazing and i highly recommend everyone to read this!! It caught me interested since first, and being someone who won't continue any book if the first two chapters aren't interesting, i found this book so interesting since the first! I absolutely love Merrick and sweet Drue! And oh, Josey too, she's really sweet! It's awesome how you've written about the characters that makes people get attached to them! It's very captivating! The plot is so amazing! And I'm very glad that i was able to read this amazing book that's one of my favourites now! You've written it so beautifully! Love this book so much and i highly recommend to everyone to read this and i bet you'll love it!!

CW/TW: Familial death of cancer (past). Cheating ex.
I enjoyed this story quite a bit. The mystery surrounding Drue kept me glued to the book. For me the romance worked without needing to be sexually explicit., so I’d say hear level is one 🌶️, because there is deep kissing, hugging, and close body contact. I look forward to the next book!
