These Two Novellas Were Previously Published In Christmas at the Club: A Christmas BDSM Romance Anthology
It's that time of year when I'm grading finals. While the rest of the world is enjoying eggnog, crooning carols, and trimming trees, I'm so deep in papers that I've turned into Scrooge -- which doesn't mean, however, that my crankiness isn't justified. A couple of weeks ago, I complained about Arcies who spoil whole books before others even have a chance to buy them. Here, I'm upset with authors and publishers who re-release books with no disclaimer. While it's true that the book itself mentions it, the Amazon & GR blurbs do not. Inevitably, I then see reviews that begin with "I think I've read this before" or "This sounded familiar." Welcome to false advertising.
Because nothing seems to have changed, I'm leaving my original reviews here (more or less):
1) "A Not So Silent Night:" Jennifer Bene/Black Light. Emma, Jaxson, and Chase have meltdowns when theyexperience first-world problems can't have sex for twelve days while they holiday with her parents without their Nanny. I began it even though petulant manchild Jax is one of my least favorite characters and I'm not a fan of ménage. But then the author introduced probably the most off-putting trope of all time: a "redeemed" rapist (from Rocked) and I was out. I get no joy from watching someone experience no consequences for a brutal rape "rocky start." DNF/1 star.
2) "A Kinky Crossover:" Livia Grant/Punishment Pit & Black Light. Jaxson, Chase, and Emma from "Black Light" go to the "Punishment Pit" for New Year's Eve (so they can get that aforementioned sex they can't live without) and meet club-owner Lukus and his wife, Tiffany. This is a club so awful that in the past it punished rape victims. (I think I'm sensing a trend in this book's attitude towards rape? Oh, sorry, what do Jennifer Bene & Livia Grant call it in a podcast? "Push the boundaries?" Right.) The little I read here wasn't much better: I don't enjoy extreme sadism and really unpleasant male characters who think that beating their wives is preferable to actually listening to them. DNF/1 star.
Things I Learned: A) Women who experience stress from motherhood and domestic tasks deserve to be punished. B) Doms don't do dishes -- or, apparently, anything else.
Others love both these worlds, so if you think you'll like these books, I suggest reading those reviews. Caveat: Anyone writing a review before December 5 (the release date) received a free book in exchange.

Jennifer Bene’s A Not So Silent Night brought a Christmas treat visiting Jaxon, Chase and Emma. And a leather tree created by Elijah and Tyler.
A Kinky Crossover by Livia Grant blessed us with Lukus and Tiffany in The Punishment Pit. And also some favourites like Markus and Brianna, and Derek and Rachel as well as the appearance of loved characters from Black Light.
These Black Light stories always entertain and are absolutely loved!

Apparently, this new standalone short story was included in an anthology last year, but since I didn't read it then, it's all new to me now. This story creates a melding of 2 series (Black Light and The Punishment Pit) by having the characters from Black Light visit The Punishment Pit. It was very action oriented and there wasn't much development of the story. What there was in the way of story felt very contrived. Perhaps because of this, none of the characters seem to come out of it looking great. Overall, it just left me feeling let down, like I'd been promised something which hasn't been delivered.

Black Light series is a favorite of mine. I own almost all of them. I'm only missing one season. I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of this book since I enjoy both author's works.
I was a bit confused at first. Instead of one book by both authors, it is two shorter stories by each author. If it was described as such in the description, I missed it. It most definitely did NOT subtract from the greatness!
So this book starts with A NOT SO SILENT NIGHT by Jennifer Bene. I love the characters Jaxson, Chase & Emma. They stick out the most in my memory of these books. I've always enjoyed their dynamic, so I was excited to read more about them. It was an excellent addition to their overall story set at Christmas time. Then A KINKY CROSSOVER by Livia Grant basically picks up where Jennifer Bene left off, but set after Christmasgoing into New Years Eve. The Punishment Pit series and characters, Lukus & Tiffany, Markus & Brianna, and Derek & Rachel are all new to me. I'll admit that I got confused at times with who was who. I definitely want to go back and read about them so I can get it all straight in my head!
Overall it was so realistic in how we get so busy during the holiday season and need to take a step back to enjoy ourselves. And enjoy themselves, they certainly did!

Every time I see the words “Black Light,” I know the stories will be exceptionally great. This Crossover is no different. Both Jennifer Bene and Livia Grant are excellent writers.

Do you think that somehow, together, they just might find a way to erotically enjoy the need for silence? I DO!

Lukus is the Master’s Master of the Punishment Pit. Tiffany is his wife and his sassy submissive. At the moment, she is obsessing over all the chores left to complete before they leave to visit her family. Lukus wants to help her calm down, but nothing passive seems to be working. These stories are arousing and enticing. Just read them to discover how fabulous these two authors really are.

I was blown away by this powerhouse duo and their combined knowledge of how a BDSM relationships can work within a marriage. It also highlights the effects of having children while maintaining the integrity of such a relationship. There was a delicious overload of kink with an abundance of fireworks when the characters had the chance to party, and party they did.
Jackson, Chase, and Emma enjoyed their Christmas Eve party at Blacklight, but the reality of life soon set in. Jackson jumped at the opportunity to spend. New Year’s Even at the Punishment Pit after receiving an invitation from Lukus and Tiffany. Jackson took full advantage of addressing Emma’s disobedience, but I feel he could have been more understanding with her as she struggled with being submissive and a mother. Chase had a calming presence that glued this trio together.
Tiffany did not handle stress well and spiraled out of control. Instead of accepting help from Lukas, she mouthed off, pushing his buttons. What she did do was release the beast, which led to painful consequences. Tiffany was reluctant to scene at the New Year's Eve party, but with encouragement from Lukas she passed with flying colors.
It was great to catch up with the characters from previous books. For me, it was a reunion with friends. This is not a long read, but what it lacked in length, it made up with excitement, entertainment, and passion.

Two of my favorite authors got together and wrote short stories in two of my favorite series, and I coulnd't be happier.
Not So Silent Night - Jennifer Bene
We get to reconnect with Jaxson, Chase, and Emma, and their twin toddlers. It's the holiday season and that means family. Family means not being able to fully enjoy their dynamic but Jaxson has some plans to remind Chase and Emma who's in charge. I love this trio and I'm so glad I got to visit with them again.
A Kinky Crossover -Livia Grant
This is another epilogue, but instead of Black Lights (like the first story) we are at The Punishment Pit and the characters are Lukus and Tiffany. We also get the continuation of Jaxson, Chase, and Emma. It's been a year since we last saw Luk and Tif and it's been a crazy holiday season. It's also their 1 year anniversary. Both Tiffany and Lukus are under a lot of stress and TPP is the best place to release it. Tif and Luk are just as steamy as I remember them being and it was so fun to revisit The Pit.

This book has 2 related tales--the first from Jennifer Bene. The trio from Black Light has a night of fun before the holidays during the annual Christmas party. Jax, not looking forward to a supervised 2 week stay with the in-laws blows off steam by having his subs practice "being quiet".. Hot as hell as always, it's a great addition to the Black Light series-even working as a great intro to the series. I love the trio of Emma, Chase and Jax--and this tale is NOT a disappointment!
The second tale is Livia Grant's "A Kinky Crossover". Livia has the Punishment Pit series and this novella takes place there. A joining of BL and PP players, but at TPP (the punishment pit) where Lukas and Tiff are celebrating their first anniversary. The trio from the first tale journeys from Wisconsin to TPP in order to take a break from family and parenthood. Both sadists (Jax and Lukas) treat their subs to a new year to remember. This tale has scenes so hot you will be squirming in your seat!

Despite her family's acceptance of their relationship, staying there puts restrictions on their lifestyle. Then they are invited by Lukus to attend the New Year's party at the Punishment Pit. It is to celebrate New Year and Lukus and Tiffany's first wedding anniversary, where Tiffany discovers that she will be part of the entertainment.

A wonderful story that takes us back to the The Punishment Pit and all characters there. It's time for the master to take his place on stage and Tiffany is in for a surprise. This is a delightful way to see everyone in this series with some steamy scenes.
Who doesn't enjoy visiting with the infamous trio from Black Light, when they get to escape their busy schedule for some sexy fun time? Escaping Christmas with Emma's parents Chase, Emma, and Jax have a night ñof Christmas fun at the Punishment Pit. The kinky fun for this trio doesn't disappoint.

What more could any reader want than to have Chase, Jaxon and Emma in the same club playing with the gang from TPP. Tiffany was in a panic about doing everything and then it was Lukus because he invited Jax (who was desperate for some time with Chase and Emma) and his family with nowhere for them to stay but Markus came through and gave up his holiday to make sure everything was ready for New Year’s Eve. What a night that was, even Rachel and Derek came and joined in the stage show. A lovely story that is a real feel good moment for lovers of Black Light and the Punishment Pit.

I first read this story in the now-unpublished Christmas at the Club anthology. We get a glimpse of Black Light trio Emma, Jaxson & Chase and how they fit their lifestyle in while visiting Emma’s family. The kink tree—love it! Luckily, they plan to travel to The Punishment Pit to see how Markus & Tiffany and their friends celebrate at New Years. I loved the way real world pressures during holiday season were incorporated into painful, caring scene. Great way to revisit some of my favourite characters all in one place.

loved these two stories, because lets face it we always want more from the trio who started it all off. In the first book we see the trio practicing (lol) to be quiet because they are going to Emmas parents for christmas.
And in the second we catch up with Tiffany and Lukus and its a stressful time at the Pit for both and not to mention a surprise wedding anniversary present (lol).
Honestly you dont want to miss out on this fabulous Crossover book, it really is a delight to read and well worth your time.

These are two of my absolute favorite authors and fave book characters and all rolled up in one Black Light Book!!! Kids are great but can be a challenge and Jaxon is grumpy thinking of how he’s going to miss out playing with his delectable partners. But creativity to the rescue! Better yet it’s with Punishment Pit’s hottest couples. Lukas and Tiffany are going strong- so sexy. This book is deliciously steamy 🔥🔥🔥Have I said how much I adore these couples!?! LOVE THIS. DON’T MISS!!!

Being a HUGE fan of Livia Grant and Jennifer Bene and an avid follower of both the Black Light and The Punishment Pit series', 'The Crossover' hit every one of my buttons! As the Author's Note in the blurb stated, this was originally published in the "Christmas at the Club" Anthology and I read it back then but re-reading it gave me the same thrills, the same chills, the same visceral experiences of being with these Doms in both their daily lives and their scenes. It's a wonderful way to experience both clubs. I just loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this hot and steamy read. This crossover was just so much fun, and I loved that it gives us more of some of the familiar characters that we know and love from the Black Light series (Jaxson, Chase, Emma and Lukas and Tiffany). Add in a heavy helping of kink and a bit of holiday flavor and you have yourself a real treat for fans of this series. I am electing to post an objective review.

A great couple of short stories that I enjoyed reading. The reader finds out how Emma, Jason and Chase spent their Christmas as well as how Lucas, Tiffany, Marcus and Brianna spend their New Year's Eve. Each of these stories have been published before but I still enjoyed reading them and think it is an excellent addition to the Black Light and Punishment series. There is plenty of hot chemistry as each set of players interact. I loved it. This is my honest opinion.

BL/Crossover
These two authors never disappoint. What a wild ride between our favorite Trio and one of our favorite Sadists. The close interaction between these friends was awesome to watch. Kind of fun to realize they have a lot of stress during the holidays too. Very interesting how the different stress relievers worked. Awesome read and I will let friends know this is a must read.

The Punishment Pit (TPP) was one of my favorite series. Getting to return to it for this short story was a treat. Lukus and Tiff were my favorite couple from TPP.
I was wondering about the title until the Black Light team showed up. Adding Jaxson, Emma, and Chase to a New Year's Eve party was something unexpected.

I absolutely loved this book! Having my favorite characters from two of my favorite series come together in one story is a dream come true! These characters are so well developed and their stories so believable that you can imagine yourself there. If you have read any of the Black Light or PP stories, then this story is a must read.

Nothing like a kinky holiday fun! This crossover between the Punishment pit and Black Light is AMAZING!!! Great dirty holiday fun to get your motors running. If you haven’t read any BL or Punishment Pit stories you will get more from this if you read a few of those…..or you can dive in get your appetite whet and go back to binge your heart out!

This was so hot especially seeing the trio again and with kids finding the time to do what they do best. They fit so good together, compliment each other the bond is unbreakable and in their club they can let loose and love.
I'd never get enough of this trio they bring a huge smile to my face every time.
