A camping trip with my best friend and our dads was something we’ve always loved to do to decompress on our summer breaks.
We’ve done this a million times, and it shouldn’t have been any different this summer, but sometimes lines get blurry.
I just hope she can forgive me when it’s all said and done.
**The Invisible Lines Duet contains forbidden love themes (Dad's Best Friend & Best Friend's Dad). All characters are 20+, and consenting adults. Book 1 is a medium to slow burn with eventual high heat. Book 2 is a fast burn, high heat story from beginning to end, and has an FMC that struggles with self image. Please be mindful.**
I love a great dads bestfriend/ bestfriends dad trope. This was a slow burn and not taboo like Seven’s usually books but it was still super good and I enjoyed every second of this beauty. I love when her and Cassie come together to write these incredible stories for us.
This is too vanilla for Seven Rue, I’m a fan of her and really tried to enjoy this but everything was so… meh. It was hot when the main couple was getting hot on the tent with the other people there but the rest was more of the same.. this just wasn’t the typical seven rue book.. it seems like she tried to be more vanilla to be on kindle again, but at what cost!?
Blurred Lines by Cassie Hargrove and Seven Rue is a forbidden romance. This is the first book in the Invisible Lines Duet.
I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Cavanaugh and Sailor. The situation is messy, but I couldn't help but root for them. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Crossed Lines to be released on January 16, 2023.
I would recommend this book if you like forbidden romances, best friends dad romances, dads best friend romances, or contemporary romance.
I usually like Sevens less taboo books, I like she still has the forbidden aspect which is what draws me in. I was really disappointed with this. I found it lacking in everything. The story felt so bland. There was no substance to the story, no structure, no world building or description. And then usually where she delivers with spice there wasn’t too much of that either. It was a very quick read but this fell massively short for me.
So I know this is a co-write but I just want to mention this is probably the most tame romance I’ve read with Seven’s name attached to it. It definitely had the tension and chemistry I just LOVED, but as far as the spice goes, it wasn’t very heavy. That could be due to the short length of the novella (less than 150 pages) but it surprised me a little. Regardless, Cav and Sailor’s quick love story had all the heart and devotion you could ask for. And that 30+ year age gap was superb! This is book 1 in the Invisible Lines Duet. The next book will feature a different couple.
I really liked the camping setting. Sneaking off to the lake and hiking really added some delicious tension. I liked how Cav described his crazy passion for the younger girl and I adored how Sailor shined under his attention.
I really can’t wait for El and Tae’s story. After that abrupt ending, I hope we get a happy conclusion to both couples!!!
Okay first off this daddy daughter trip they take like how could they have not already done this. Another thing Elowen and Tae were freaking blind to not notice anything going on between them when they slept next to each other every night (both El and Tae & Cav and Sailor) like what does that tell you that something is gonna happen. Another things was like hello that forbidden love is so freaking hot and their little moments that had them on the edge of getting caught *perfection*. Cav & Sailor were definitely meant for each other, they had common interests and their attraction was palpable like woah did they have chemistry. And those little bit of spicy moments so so hot! The danger of getting caught definitely made this 10x better. The little end with Tae and Elowen, I have a feeling that it’s gonna be all alright and very very hot! 😍
I wanted to DNF it and I started it like 3 hours ago and finished it 1 minute ago. It was only 250 pages so I pushed through but the writing style? It felt juvenile for the content that was on the page. It was giving early Wattpad tbh. The story definitely had potential but it lacked structure and I don’t think there was a single character description other than “damn he’s so handsome” okay but like why is he handsome? Why is she beautiful? There was zero description and more conversation which is fine when it’s not rammed down your throat with zero contexts. Will I read the second one? Yeah because I’m nosey and wanna know what happens next but I’m praying for it to be less pages and less torture.
Sailor, Tae, Elowen and Cav set off on their yearly camping adventure with hopes of unwinding and refueling. But, when you mix close quarters and blurred lines, things can get wild. Despite not following Seven's usual spicy style, this slow-burner still hit the spot. I loved watching the messy, yet beautiful, romance between Cavanaugh and Sailor bloom. Their bond was worth rooting for, even if it was a tad complicated.

Dad’s Best Friend Best Friend’s Dad Age Gap Slow/Medium Burn (Book 1)
Well, I am not even sure it needs a trigger warning. This was a very sweet story, with a pretty high age gap, and of course Daddy of best friend is forbidden. But I found it sweet. It felt like almost like a draft some times, I feel the author could have dug a little more inside her characters psyche, especially the other Dad and the best friend, they almost looked like bypassers, not even aware ones. I ll probably read the next one, though.

She’s my goddamn downfall and savior all wrapped into one, and I’d fight to keep her by my side. Even if it meant losing everything, because I couldn’t see myself living without her now.
Blurred Lines was a quick read which included sweetness, spiciness, and low angst. I enjoyed more as the story progressed. This was a perfect read to *hopefully* get me out of my current book funk. I really can't wait for the next story in this duet!!!
This book lives up to its name. Lots of blurred lines. The tension is thick during the traditional camping trip. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
Ok…maybe camping can be fun…🤣 I loved this so much and Sailor and Cav’s relationship is so sweet. I love them. I needed a quick, spicy, tension filled read and this was it. I can’t wait to see how things progress in the next one!!
Age-gap, dad’s best friend/best friends dad. Sneaking around on an annual camping trip with your best friends dad who is also your dads best friend, while you are all sharing the same tent. What could possibly go wrong. Can’t wait for book two!
I couldn’t keep heads or tails of who was who. Didn’t really seem tense or forbidden enough…and they were head over heels in love after only a couple of days. Dialogue was a little weird and awkward too.
I’m always up for a good forbidden couple! And this one has a double dose! Dad’s best friend mixed with best friends dad… The book starts off innocent enough but switches soon after the camping trip starts.
This one is a little bit of a slow burn but the tension in the build is hot. I can’t wait to see what comes in book 2!
My first read by this frequently banned author and a taster for me because I'm not going to fork out on her books from her site if I don't like them ...
Granted this appears to be quite tame for her but it was just lacking in so many other ways too.
4⭐️ this is a short spicy age gap, dads best friend, best friends dad. I really enjoyed this book. The spice in this book was excellent and I can’t wait to read the second one.
Easy, fast read. All though it was boring. I didn’t care about any of the characters. After finishing the book I still didn’t have any feelings toward the characters.
I really enjoyed this! I’ve always been a fan of slow burn relationships and I loved the chemistry between Sailor and Cav! I’m super excited to see how the next book plays out!!👀👀👀
This was a good quick read with a bit of spice. It was slow burn, but I do love a forbidden dad’s best friend age gap! Two men that are best friends each with a daughter that are best friends…yeah not as dark, spicy or forbidden as Seven Rue usually is, but still good just the same. I love the sneaking around intensity! Haven’t read it yet? You should if you love age gaps and dads!
