This is an easy to read but deep dive into how you can get more success in your life - although it is aimed at professionals, it would work for non-work projects as well. Kate's metaphor of driving or going on a journey is consistently used throughout to avoid confusing readers. I immediately wanted to go back with a single goal in mind and work through the activities and text again.

I read Kate's book ahead of interviewing her for my podcast and absolutely loved it. It's a mix of inspiring stories, thought-provoking ideas, and actionable exercises you can choose to do as you move through the book or come back to later on.

For ambitious people, the balancing the drive and ambition to strive for more, with a quieter sense of calm and contentment along the way is a tough one to find.

Kate strips back the reasons why our conditioning has created this either / or dichotomy, and shows us how we can instead integrate for far greater results and experience along the way.

Some readers may find that they internalise the central idea very quickly and for others it may take more of the exercises and 'travel log' entries to get to the lightbulb moment.

Crucially, this isn't a book where the call to action is 'quit your job and follow your passion!'. For some that may be the case, but the book encourages us to explore ways we can turn our existing roles into joy-giving pursuits by understanding and harnessing more of our 'authentic selves'.

For anybody who feels trapped in the endless cycle of reaching for the next level, this book could be a gamechanger and lifesaver.

I read this book as part of a coaching programme and honestly was not sure what to expect, but I cannot express how much I have been able to take from this book, both professionally and personally. It was written in a style that was engaging, easy to follow and allowed you to really make sense of each section and for ideas to develop. I found parts of it incredibly moving, and also incredibly confronting. Although this is absolutely a guide for how to find success in your career, so many of the teaching and guided tasks can be applied to all areas of life. For any one wanting to get the most out of their career, or struggling with uncertainty of what the next steps for them could be I highly, highly recommend this book
