I have been reading Shanna Hatfield for years, she never disappoints in her amazing storylines, plots, and sweet romances.

Savoring Christmas just catapulted to the top of my list, as one of my most favorite books.

Troy, a shy cowboy, who would rather be working on his family’s farm and ranch or swinging a rope, truly exuded an old fashioned gentlemanly disposition, that could make any woman swoon.
Watch out Cooper James, Troy may dethrone you as my new heartthrob!

Lark, a little spitfire, a culinary genus, and a heart of gold, was truly a shining light to everyone who met her, especially Troy.

Their romance and sweet banter was fun and fresh.
Troy and Lark stole my heart and kept the entertainment skyrocketing.

I love how Ms. Hatfield’s characters from her other phenomenal Rodeo Christmas books are always intertwined in her newest books. It’s like attending a reunion of your favorite friends.

If I had one downfall about this book, it was all the delicious tater tot recipes Lark served up from her food truck.
I was so hungry reading, that my taste buds are demanding I try and attempt a few recipes, myself. I’m sure mine never could be the culinary phenomenon Lark created, but my taste buds will be satisfied, I tried.

Troy is a man who has always put his family first as evidenced by his withdrawing from the rodeo circuit so that he could manage the ranch his family owns. While participating in a local fair he meets Lark when he comes to her rescue and despite all his responsibilities, he knew that she was special.

Lark has plans for her future which include leaving town and pursuing her dream of owning a restaurant despite all the challenges she has overcome so far. Until that can become a reality, she works tirelessly on her food truck, but meeting Troy was a surprise she didn’t see coming.

This is a heartwarming story between two captivating characters. Despite the fact that they weren’t looking for love or a relationship they are about to realize that the best things in life happen when you least expect it.

- Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was Magical! From the very beginning I was loving these characters and this setting!
Troy and Lark are honestly such a wholesome, sweet, amazing couple and I adore them!

Lark is a food truck owner who makes homemade tatter tots from her family potato farm at her food truck, Bud's Spud's. She is working hard to save money from her food truck earnings to be able to move to Portland and open up her own restaurant. She has had some awful things happen to her in the past and she is determined to heal and move on from them.

Lark then quit literally "runs into" Troy, when a loose steer at the fair almost runs her over and he helps rope it in. Troy is an ex-pro rodeo roper who now ropes at local fairs with his cousin. They also have a family ranch that they run with their grandmother. Troy is very much the definition of a perfect cowboy gentleman. Honestly, he could not have been any sweeter.

This was such a heartfelt, light read that I could not put down. I was smiling will reading almost every page. When Troy started calling Lark Songbird, I almost fell out of my chair I was swooning for hard. Like how more wholesome and adorable can this man be. (I know I am normally all for the morally grey characters, but a wholesome cowboy defiantly is something I love too. 😂)

The way this was written, I felt like I was in these small towns and at the ranch with them. All of the characters felt like my friends and family too and I was along for the ride!

I really enjoyed reading about all of the amazing food Lark makes (there is even a reciepe at the end of the book for her spuddy bites), and everything at the rodeo and the ranch. I know nothing about any of these things, so reading about them was so fun for me!

This was for sure a slow burn romance (that we never really got to see actually burn). Every time they would get close I would think "Okay, this is the time they are finally going to actually kiss!" and they would somehow end up not doing it. I was so wanting them to just admit they love each other already! 😂

There is absolutely no spice in this book at all, they do not do anything besides kiss. So, if you are someone who does not like books without spice, then this one might not be for you, but I did not mind too much.

The few things that I was not a huge fan of for this were that I wish there would be at least one scene where they did something more than just kiss, and the title is a little misleading. You would think this is set mainly during Christmas time, but it is not. The first 80% of the book is during the summer and there actually is not even a scene during Christmas, they skip right over it. I went into this thinking it was a Holiday book, and it is not. If this would have been marketed a different way, this book very well could have been five stars for me!

This is book 10 in a series and I definitely plan on going back and reading the other books about some of these other characters!

Troy Lucas gave up his dream of working the rodeo circuit to look after his grandmother and take care of the family ranch. Troy's Grammy raised him and his cousin Truitt since they were both toddlers; his sacrifice is the least he can do for the woman who took care of him. Now he has no desire to leave his small town life.

Lark Gibson is known as a 'Potato Princess'. Her family owns a very lucrative, very successful potato farm but Lark doesn't act like she comes from money. Lark has always wanted to be a chef. She went to culinary school and even had an opportunity to travel to France and study under some great chefs. Due to unforeseen circumstances Lark has returned home and hopes to raise enough money working her her food truck to start up her own restaurant in Portland.

Lark and Troy have both had difficult relationships in the past and neither is looking for anything serious. Since their chance encounter they have both been happy just being friends. Both work hard at their jobs and barely have time to spend with one another but fate seems to keep drawing them together.

I was provided an Advanced Reader Copy by NetGalley and the Publisher, Wholesome Hearts Publishing, for an honest review.

'Savoring Christmas' is a wholesome romance with a sweet main female character and a good looking, physically fit cowboy. This is my first Shanna Hatfield story and the interactions with some of the other characters leads me to believe this story to be a spin off from her other series. Both main characters are truly likable with little to no character flaws. Troy has had struggles his entire life and contrary to what Lark claims she has had a pretty easy, carefree upbringing. It was a fairly easy read with tremendous sexual tension between the two characters throughout the book. With a name called 'Savoring Christmas' I expected a holiday story. Christmas didn't really make an appearance until the very end, a bit disappointing.

If you are looking for a perfect holiday read to indulge in that will engage all your senses, this is it! This sweet romance will immerse you in the sights, sounds and events of the rodeo. First of all, the cover is gorgeous! From there you can get an idea as to the delightful story waiting for you inside! And this one truly is a delight!! From the characters to the storyline, to the humor and the sweet romance. This is a winner from page one! Lark, the heroine is bright, hardworking, strong, caring and independent. Not to mention a culinary genius who owns and runs a popular food truck. The descriptions of the food she offered had me drooling all throughout the story and made me want to visit her food truck right that minute. Troy is the epitome of the shy but chivalrous cowboy who will bend over backwards for those he cares about. Troy quit his full-time rodeo career to run the family ranch alongside his cousin Truitt and his Grandma. He lives and breathes ranch life, and it fits him like the food business does Lark. Troy and Lark have a sparking chemistry right from the start, but it takes some time for them to work past their own trials and overcome personal demons. Both characters grow significantly throughout the story and it's nice to witness that unique journey. Just like in any real relationship Lark and Troy really have to work hard to find their happy ending; but it's so worth it! I also loved the supporting characters and I look forward to Truitt's story. (To the author: You will write Truitt's story, right?!)
Shanna Hatfield's knowledge of rodeos and farm life really shines through in her novels, this one included. This is a SUPER cute story you won't want to miss!
I received an advanced copy of this book, however I am leaving a review of my own choosing. All opinions are my own.

It is a universal truth that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Author Shanna Hatfield proves this in her stellar new romance Savoring Christmas. I'll say it again, no author handles, children, animals and FOOD like this author! I demolished this romance drooling over the depictions of divinely inspired food truck food! The protagonists in this contemporary cowboy romance are immediately endearing and lovable. Troy Lucas is larger than life (literally) and a throwback to cowboys of yesteryear: quiet, steadfast, polite, traditional and a man of the earth, working on his ranch, being a professional farrier and rodeo team roper. He would probably say a little boring too but certainly not to the woman who has fallen head over heels for him, Lark Gibson. She's a counterpoint to Troy, being beautiful, lively, ambitious, focused, and supremely talented in creating unforgettable food truck offerings. With proceeds from her food truck "Bud's Spuds," she hopes to open her own restaurant in Portland. However, It is remarkable how a single individual falling in love can completely change the life of someone else and the author handles this with such tenderness and feeling. Savor and root for these two as they work through the complicated feelings of growing love. Having read practically every one of Shanna Hatfield's 100+ books, this one lands near the top of my vaunted list of favorites.

Savoring Christmas is Book 10 in the Rodeo Romance series by Shanna Hatfield. This was such an enjoyable sweet story and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Troy Lucas runs the family ranch after the death of his grandfather. A former rodeo competitor, Troy is now focused on running the ranch, his farrier business, and competing in some team roping competitions for fun with his cousin Truitt. He certainly doesn’t need or have time for a relationship.

Chef Lark Gibson has only one goal in mind and that is to open a restaurant in Portland. Until she can save enough money, Lark will take her food truck to as many events as possible. Lark has no intention of letting anything or anyone stand in the way of her dreams. What Lark doesn’t expect is to be knocked off her feet by a cow and a certain blue eyed cowboy.

This was such a charming story that I read it straight through. I loved Lark and Troy and there were also some great side characters. I hope Truitt’s story is next. If you love rodeo excitement, animals, great food description’s, banter, and clean romance this book is for you.

Thank you to Netgalley and Wholesome Hearts Publishing for the eARC I received in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book feels like a cosy Christmas movie should. The tenth in its series, it focuses on cowboy/rancher Troy Lucas and chef/food truck owner Lark Gibson.

After literally crashing into each other’s lives thanks to a runaway cow, it’s clear these two are meant to be even if their personal plans don’t include romance. Everyone else in this delightful universe can see it, even if they can’t (at least initially). From rodeo to rodeo, hot air balloon festival to Las Vegas, with plenty of loveable side characters thrown in, it’s a very sweet story that makes for a perfect Christmas, but not too Christmassey, read.

If I could give this four and a half stars, I would. The only thing that keeps it from being five for me is the rushed happily ever after; I’d have been happier to see the big conclusion in an epilogue set in the not to far away future.

A new author for me and I enjoyed this holiday romance. Troy and Lark meet when a heifer breaks free from a barn to travel the rodeo grounds. In the process it runs by Lark, a food truck owner, preparing to start her day. Her hands are full and the heifer knocks the breath out of her landing her on her back. Troy captures the heifer then goes back to help the girl and their worlds collide.

It's a slow moving love story, which I enjoy. They take the time to get to know each other and become friends. The characters come alive and you can picture the rodeo, their homes, the ranch Troy works with his cousin Tru and the grandmother that raised them, and the food truck.

I was thrilled to find out the rest of the books in the series can be read for free in KU. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Is definitely a book to savor - I got wrapped up in the story and finished it all too quickly.

Shanna manages to pack in so many details that you feel immersed in the story and feel like you know the characters as friends or family. This story definitely has me craving Tator tots from Lark’s food truck!
Lark is a fabulously spunky hard working heroine and Troy definitely is the epitome of strong and silent/shy type of helpful chivalrous cowboy. I loved watching them get to know each other and work through their dreams and insecurities- it felt so much more real because though they like each other instantly they had to work for their happy ending.

I also absolutely loved spending time with the friends and family and revisiting characters/friends from previous stories- feels like coming home.

Troy and Lark are two people who made decisions for themselves. Troy gave up his career when his grandfather died, to help run the family ranch. Lark, instead of staying at the family potato business, decided to strike out on her own, selling her food creations from a food truck. The two met at the fair, where Troy was helping the young 4H children get ready to show their animals.
The story continues, with them getting to know each other, and the book goes with their pace. Their journey together, is what life brings into their lives. Sometimes, I laughed at some of the things that were happening.
This is their journey with uncertainty, afraid to take a chance, misunderstanding things that were happening, learning about each other, and following their journey to see where it takes them.

What a lovely book about romance and believing in yourself. Lark Gibson has a food truck called Bud’s Spuds and meets cowboy Troy Lucas who lives on the family ranch with Grandma and cousin Truitt. There is an instant attraction but neither of them are sure that the other one feels it too. Will Lark follow her dream of eventually opening a restaurant in Portland or give in to her feelings about Troy. Troy doesn’t know if he is ready to settle down or even good enough to make a long time commitment. I absolutely loved the characters in this book and how they were all connected. I was willing Lark and Troy to tell each other how they felt and loved how their relationship developed. Good clean romance at its best. Caring Cowboy!

Savoring Christmas: WOW! Exciting, suspenseful, full of surprise.and a hot romance... Troy changed his career path because of his grandfathers pass and could leave his grandmother to take care of the ranch. Its been in his family a long time so it on him and his cousin to take care of it. He was the shy one of the two of them so he is not use to talking to beautiful women. When he was at the fair and saw steer get away and try to get the pretty ladies attention before the steer plowed her down it was to late because she didn't her him. Troy ran over to her to see if she was okay and she said yes just give her a second. He just could not keep his eyes off of her she was so beautiful. They connected so well together. Great story and fantastic writing!

This was an amazing story that I loved that much. I just couldn't put it down. The amazing storyline was exciting, interesting and very heartwarming. It kept my attention throughout that I just had to finish reading it in one sitting. It's an amazing page turning novel that I am sure you will feel the same as me. I definitely recommend this book as you will not be disappointed especially if you love cowboy romance novels. The characters were wonderful and so easy to love. This book would definitely make an amazing film as it played like one in my head as I was reading it. I just loved the amazing work ethics that ran through this book.
Only the highest of praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating this amazing story that brought out some amazing emotions within me. I will definitely be looking out for more books by this fantastic author.

Savoring Christmas by Shanna Hatfield is a Sweet Western Holiday Romance and I really loved and enjoyed reading this beautiful and inspiring book. I loved the characters in this beautifully written love story , especially the two main characters which were Troy and Lark who met by chance when Lark was knocked down by a run away steer. Troy helped her up and made sure she wasn't hurt. The both immediately felt an attraction to each other. They become friends and then they fall in love, of which neither of them was looking for at all. Neither of them was looking for love and thought they were not ready for. This is a beautiful story that I truly enjoyed reading, it was a hard to put down book because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I love revisiting old friends, making new ones, and when characters from books I have loved, chaaracters that didn't get a spotlight before, get to shine in their own right.
This happens here for not just one but TWO great characters who I know will become your beloved friends.
We return to the rodeo, but spend more time behind the scenes, athough we do get to see Cooper in action, making us laugh and trying to embarrass his friends.
We also get to visit with the Lasso 8 Posse. SMILE
The focus this time is on Lark and her food truck. In this economy we can all relate to not being able to find staff, right? Fortunately, a hunky cowboy she just met, and who saved her from a rampant steer, comes to the rescue again.
This meet cute novel will melt your heart.

Lark is giving it her all trying to achieve what she thinks is her life’s goal when she meets Troy. He’s trying to apprehend a runaway cow who takes out Lark. It’s instant sparks when he comes back to help her up. Troy and Lark have their own baggage to work through and this is a most delicious story complete with mouth watering food truck offerings. Visits with rodeo families we’ve met through the series adds an extra layer of depth and sweetness to the story as we see how their families have grown. Troys grandmother is a doll who dispenses hugs, food and common sense freely.

I had to cheer loudly for Lark when she encounters her ex in Vegas. I can’t wait to meet the young lady that’s going to lasso Troys cousin Truitts heart.

What a special world you get to enter into through another beautiful story Shanna Hatfield weaves for us. Meet Troy who ends up having to leave the rodeo circuit to return to work the family farm. Then we meet Lark who comes from a potato empire. She doesn’t want this life though or to follow her irritating sister. She forges out on her own and buys a food truck. She names it Bud’s Spuds and features such inventive recipes! It was so fun to learn all about the food truck business! Troy and Lark become friends and help each other out. Their lives may take very different paths though. Can their world cone together to be more than friends? You will love this story that will stay with you long after you are done!! Enjoy!

Troy Lucas gave up a great deal once his grandfather passed away to help run the ranch with his cousin and grandmother. He sometimes longs for the rodeo career he once had, even though he still does team roping with his cousin and has a clientele he serves as a farrier, but at the end of the day there’s nowhere else he’d rather be than home on the ranch.

Lark Gibson studied abroad to be a chef and has a dream of opening a restaurant in Portland. In the meantime, she’s operating her own food truck called “Bud’s Spuds” and goes to as many fairs and festivals as time allows to build up her reputation and her bank account. At one fair, she gets knocked over by a rogue bull, but Troy helps bring her to her feet again.

Troy isn’t looking for love since he has more than he can handle with the ranch, his farrier business and roping. Lark has sworn off men after her last relationship and is focused on her food truck and her dream of moving to Portland. She has a hard time getting the cowboy who loves her tater tot creations out of her mind and Troy can’t stop thinking about the red-headed beauty who makes sure he doesn’t go hungry when she’s around.

A great wholesome romance to get you in the holiday spirit.

This was such a fun and lovely story with our heroine having a food truck that she takes to rodeos and other functions for food for the cowboys and audience at the rodeos and Lark is a really wonderful cook making unique foods.
Troy was a cowboy doing team roping with his cousin Truitt who also lives with him and their grandmother.

Falling in love at the rodeos and food truck is definitely a new thing for this author I think, at least I don’t think I’ve ever read one before, but this story is very hard to put down and it is unique in my opinion and I loved every bit of it.
Thank you, Shanna Hatfield, for writing such a unique story

Lark, a rich girl trying to make it on her own, operates a food truck, working at rodeos where she meets Troy. He's a cowboy, but primarily a farmer, living with his cousin on his grandmother's farm. Lark and Troy work incredibly hard, and they increasingly help each other as they grow closer. They're both likable people, but the dramatic tension rises primarily from wondering when Troy would get the courage to kiss her seriously. There's almost too much about the work (rodeo, farming, horseshoeing, running a commercial food operation, modeling and developing a clothing line) and not enough about the couple. But a nice romance.

Next great book in the series
This is a great series and I love running into previous characters from the other books. I love Lark and Troy. She is so outgoing and loves being around people, he is quiet and reserved and a bit of a homebody. But they are both at the rodeo, Lark with her food truck and Troy working as a farrier as well as competing alongside his cousin in a roping competition. They have a lot of occasions to run into each other. I loved the chemistry between the two of them, yet it is still so sweet. Loved Troy’s cousin, Truitt. Hopefully he will find a girl that will make him want to settle down!
I received an ARC from the author, but this review is my own opinion.

Rodeo and Romance—it just doesn’t get any better! Troy and Lark seem an unlikely pair. He is content to work the family farm with a few rodeos now and then. She has a food truck with aspirations of opening her own restaurant in the big city. But love can change all plans. You will enjoy the events at the fair and laugh at the naughty seniors at the local retirement home. You will feel like you are there. This is a stand-alone book but after getting a glimpse of the rodeo families you will want to go back and read their stories! Don’t miss this new clean, inspirational romance from Shanna Hatfield!

How could you not fall in love with Troy? He is so kind and caring. Troy and Lark meet when he picks her up after she is knocked down by the livestock. He is instantly smitten, but after some bad experiences, he isn't ready to start anything with anyone. Lark too has been hurt badly and is just concentrating on opening her own restaurant. Right now, she has a food truck that sells tater tots. The way to a man's heart and all that is real. Troy can't get enough of her tater tots and desserts. Is what they have lasting? Can they figure out the logistics and set aside old hurts to make a life together?

A sweet, easy to read, quick romance. Although set at Christmas, it is not over the top Christmassey.

The story follows Lark, a food truck owner, and Troy, a cowboy, as the universe conspires to bring them together through a series of accidents, coincidental meetings, and the urging of friends.

The characters are likeable enough, but the plot is a tad on the slow side. There is a major focus on everyone's professions, to the point where the romance feels like a secondary plot.

Still, a nice, quick read for the season.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my review.

Great read

It's a horrible rainy Sunday here in Florida and I have spent most of the day cuddled under my cozy throw devouring this book that I started just before bedtime last night. Thank you Shanna Hatfield for giving us a story about Troy who we met previously in other books, and for introducing us to Lark and her family. I just read the excerpt at the end of this book and am so excited to read more about Truitt and all the other people we have come to know and love in this series. Anyone on the fence about buying thus book...don't be. You'll be glad you got it. Enjoy!
