The loss of her husband is the final tragic blow that sends Quinn Alexander spiraling. Her art gallery locked, her latest landscape abandoned, she resigns herself to a life without love. Why bother when everyone dies?
Five months later, hoping to placate her family and best friend, she agrees to attend a grief counseling group. The goal: get in, get out, and don't draw attention to herself.
Architect Nick James pushed aside the promise he made to his dying wife. He’d never replace his one true love, so there was no need to try. But when Nick and Quinn meet for coffee, the foundation for a friendship is laid.
As these two broken souls learn to navigate grief together, will the walls they’ve built around themselves crumble? Can they let go of their fears to let love find a way?
If you adore big-city romance and stories that pluck your heartstrings, this second-chance, friends-to-lovers romance is for you.
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! I just finished reading Resurrection by Kristy Werner. She is a new to me author and this is the first book of hers that I have read. It most certainly won’t be the last. Kristy Werner is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
You don’t want to miss Nick & Quinn’s story.
I was privileged to be part of her launch team and received an ARC book.
Resurrection by Kristy Werner Tulsa Town Romance Series Book One Quinn Alexander is an artist. She can paint the storms, but now she has to live through one. A storm where she’s lost her anchor. As she’s lost inside a storm pulling her into a black hole, she finally goes to grief counseling for help. Can she open up enough to allow those in the group to help and support her? Nick James has been in counseling and does his best to help others open up. To heal. He’s on his way to healing, but it’s a long road. So when he feels the push to approach the new group member, he doesn’t want to. And yet, she needs a friend. And the truth is, so does he. I’ve never been through the sorrow these two were, but the author seems to catch the emotions—the fears—of going from one day to the next alone. And the greater fear of allowing love in and taking a chance at pain once more. I can’t wait to read more in this series. **Tissue alert https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Resurrection: We could define that term as being born again: raised to a new life; once dead, but now abundantly alive; that is what Nick and Quinn experience.
And when one thinks about what the entire resurrection 'experience' entails: the darkness being transformed into the Light, we are liable to experience many/all the emotions that the author so powerfully writes about in her captivating story.
I seldom have found myself reading books(excluding religious books) where I am reading metaphors that makes me stop and meditate upon them, like the author does.
As a person who has written as a hobby for many years, over the course of countless hours, I can honestly say because of her powerfully, imaginative style, and her way to draw me into her story: she is an elite writer. And it is my great pleasure and privilege to have receive the gift of such an artist to enhance my life. *smiles*
A new to me Author, I was hooked from page one. Ms. Werner brings depth to characters and emotions to the storyline so elegantly. Quinn’s story was so emotional and deep. Going through the grief of losing someone so close to you, Quinn navigates the beauty of finding someone that she can share that emotion with. Finding Nick helped her move on in life and helped him as well. God puts the right person in your life at the right time doesn’t he! A well thought out story capturing the love God has for us and how He has the best laid our plans for our lives. I was given a copy of this title from the publisher, a review was not required. These are my own thoughts.
Resurrection is a great book. It had all my emotions going. It brought a lot of my own experience of losing a spouse and finding love again to life. I could relate to a lot of the emotions. I was hooked after reading the first chapter and didn’t want to put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to leave a review. These are my honest opinions about this wonderful book!
“Resurrection” by Kristy Werner Heartbreak and Recovery times 2 Yes, this was an emotional read. It brought back a lot of memories, too. Thankfully most of us learn to live again after our great losses. The ‘Prologue’ captured my interest and the rest of the story kept me attached. I had to find out how this story ended. Happy Reading ! ! NOTE: This review expresses my honest opinion. I received an ARC of this story from the author via Bookfunnel.
I LOVED it! I grew up reading clean romance and now Resurrection is right up there with my faves. I feel like I know Quinn and Nick and love them. There is one part where my heart physically hurt for them. That’s how I know it’s a good book - if I love the characters enough that it physically hurts my heart when they hurt. It made me smile, shake my head, cry, talk back to the characters (another sign of a good book), and even laugh out loud! It’s a great read!!!
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. It's full of emotions and keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next. It's a beautiful Christian romance that you don't want to miss. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Resurrection is a tender-hearted, emotional love story that keeps you turning the page until the end. Grief is never easy to write about, but Kristy Werner does it in a way that draws you to both characters and longs for their story to have a happy ending. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher.
Resurrection was captivating from the start! I loved walking along with the characters, Nick and Quinn. Having grown up in Tulsa myself I could easily picture many of the local places they visited throughout their story. All the feelings will grab you in this beautiful story! I look forward to reading more books from Kristy Werner and the Tulsa Town Romance series.
I just loved this read and felt their ups and downs and rejoice with Quinn and Nick's when they fine their happy everafter. It is also a page turner read.
Unbelievable love story, with so many cells and turns. You will laugh with them. You will cry with them. But in the end, love triumphs! This is one you don't want to miss . enjoy!
A story about two people who are drawn together through their losses. Will they recover and be able to move ahead with their lives? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
AMAZING!!! Such a beautiful story of lose, grief, love, and healing. I highly recommend this read. The book is well written and I can't wait for Kristy's next book!
