Focus Puller

Rate this book
Focus Puller offers an insight into one man’s life over a span of decades, as he faces questions about family, relationships, sexuality, commitment, health/well-being and the choices we make. The non-linear and flashback sequence highlights the value of the seemingly small experiences of life and also reflects the imperfect nature of life experience. The book invites readers to think about their own lives; whether the oftentimes observations of others “through a lens” is ever applied to the self, and our own journey and life experiences.

Daniel Hess is a Writer/Filmmaker born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. After losing his best friend/cousin to Cystic Fibrosis when he was 10, Daniel began his first foray into writing and poetry. As he grew up and at the behest of his close friend in high school, Daniel pursued filmmaking in college. After graduating from Towson University in 2012, he fell into life quickly, but thanks to a few mentors could find a footing in corporate/event videography. While this became a place of steady income, it was something that kept creativity far out of reach. At age 28, after receiving word that he would soon need heart surgery, a new spark for letting a creative voice be heard emerged again. Over the course of the last three years, Daniel stepped away from the event videography space, committing his company, To Tony Productions, to only producing original short and feature film productions. In January 2021, Daniel self-published his first book, a collection of poetry entitled Just a Boy Blaming Himself. In January 2022, Daniel underwent successful open heart surgery and on June 6th, 2022 will be releasing his first novel Focus Puller. He is also currently producing several feature films as well.

“What they would eventually have together was like speckled sunshine on an overcast day; you knew the sun was there somewhere, but it never stayed out long enough to make a real impact on anything or anyone.”

This was quite a roller coaster ride. It is the story of Ben. Ben is a simple and commonly difficult human being who has had some unusual encounters in his life. At the same time, we look into his impact on the lives of others in a more or less relevant way. It is a non-linear story recounted from several points of view, including that of Ben's ex-girlfriends and a third-person narration from Ben, with flashbacks thrown in for good measure. This makes the story more realistic. The character development is done right. It was a very different experience to read this book.

The narration of the story kept me absorbed throughout. The narration makes the story feel very realistic. The language used is pleasant. The writing style is engrossing. The book's cover is captivating, and the title is quite interesting.

You might like to wander through a few artistic journals — they’re full of sparks and surprises.

I am in complete awe of how brilliantly the story is weaved highlighting the dynamics, the sacrifices, the adjustments and compromise we make as we grow up and how it affects our mental health. The shifting angles in the storyline evoke strong emotions, as Ben navigate the hurdles and tribulations thrown his way, I was rooting for him. The themes covered range fromfamily, relationships, sexuality, commitment, health/well-being to the choices we make which I found be an eye opener.

To be honest, I did find the pace a bit slow in the beginning, but I finished the second half very quickly. I just couldn't put it down. I have been whisked away from this world. It's a book that makes you smile sometimes and at times furious but it also gives hope. What made this book stand out for me, is the unrelenting honesty between these pages.

I was quite satisfied with the ending.
And I think Daniel Hess has done a splendid job writing the book, and I am looking forward to reading more of his works.
The emotions, the confusions, the uncertainty, the hurt, the complexities all captured made it a SWEEPING EXPERIENCE.

thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

this took me months to get through, but i appreciated it for what it is starting almost halfway through. it did make me cry, so a book that makes me feel so viscerally like that definitely deserves praise. this is a very stream-of-consciousness/disjointed-slices-of-life type of literary fiction, so if you're into that, you might want to try this one out. it kind of reminds me of an adult holden caulfield, which is a mighty bold statement but there it is. it made me laugh and relate a few times too, which i loved. it goes so quickly once you're in it, and ben is certainly quite the interesting character, to say the least.

Focus Puller was a fascinating book and I loved reading it as I love books that I can finish in one sitting. It is a lovely book about a man named Ben. We get to know Ben through different stories from his childhood and adulthood narrated non linearly in the book.

We have full view of his friendships, romantic relationships, his career choices and struggles, and other aspects of his life. The book is well written and it is devoid of any tropes, it is not stated anywhere that this book is a memoir but it gives that feeling that it could be a memoir, although it is not written from first person pov.

Ben's character and his life can be a reflection of reader's own life in some parts and ways. If you are searching for a different kind of book that is short and enjoyable, Focus Puller would be a nice choice.

Thank you to the author for sharing this book with me through Bookstagrammers.com!!

“That email, although not known at the time by Ben, Lily, or anyone close to them, would change the way Ben would go through the world for the rest of Ben’s life.”

I really liked this piece of life.
The truth and inevitable complication of the life of one man seen through the eyes of each and everyone of the lovers he had during the years and his own doubts and insecurities.
Ben is a simply and commonly complicated human beings who had experiences in his life that aren’t really common. But at the same time we explore his influence on other people’s life in a more or less relevant way.
A boy getting to be a teenager and then a man … responsibilities starting inevitably to kick in … and maybe a lot of panic.
There’s is although the presence of this one character who seems to be a constant for a long time … I liked this a lot too!

“What they would eventually have together was like speckled sunshine on an overcast day, you knew the sun was there somewhere but it never stayed out long enough to make a real impact on anything or anyone.”

It’s overall a book easy to get into. The writing-style , despite the themes the book deals with, makes the book easy to read without too much struggles getting through the main character’s inner thoughts.
And I absolutely loved the titles of each and every chapter and how relevant they were to get a general idea of what would have happened in the chapters themselves.
I believe more people should read this book. Check it out as soon as it’s out !!!

I have a confession to make: the chapter dubbed 'Us' brooooke me that I had to put down the book for a few minutes. I can't tell you why, you'll have to go read for yourself.

That being said Focus Puller by @danhess90 is a non-linear tale told from multiple POVs between Ben's ex girlfriends and a third person narration from Ben with spurts of flashbacks in between. It's writing in an easy to swallow writing and was quite interesting study of character, discovering oneself and memory.

The chapters can stand independently on their own but as the converge we see a deep molding and understanding of our main character: each story adding a piece to Ben's character build up.

There’s an interesting aspect here, since the novel is about other people reacting to Ben and describing the effects he’s had on their lives, but Ben’s creative work is about making his own personality invisible. Thus Focus Puller is more character driven story rather than plot driven.

Some stories seem insignificant and some make a huge impact on the story making you come to the conclusion that life is a mix of small and big decisions.

Ben is a character you'd love to hate given some of his actions: watching his come of age, struggling about what to pursue in life, the way he treated his 'love' interests, the way others react to him and how he treats his work nonchalantly makes you question him.

As you read story after story I saw an outcropping themes such as mental health, morality, love, insecurity...

Because books also reveals something about you, in the end you're left genuflecting about your actions growing till not and the characters.

Focus Puller by Daniel Hess 📚

Thank you @bookstagrammerscom and @danielhess for the gifted digital copy.

Focus Puller was an unique coming of age story of a young man, Ben from his teens to his adulthood. It's unique because of the narrative style. The chapters shift between Ben's narration and narration from all of his ex- lovers. It took me a while to grasp the concept but once I got into the book, it just flew by.

The language used in the book was simple and can be read even beginners. The writing style was articulate and mundane. The tone of the book was witty and sarcastic. The characters in the book were very relatable and seemed to be very grounded in reality. The plot was simple and it did not have a lot of twists and turns. The pacing of the story was a bit slow but it picked up towards the end.

The main character, Ben was not a hero, he was more of an anti-hero. It's always harder to write a book about a character who is not very lovable, Kudos to the author for bringing Ben to life. All the things that Ben goes through and the crises faced can easily be related to our own real life experiences and I feel like that's the best part of a the book.

If you are looking for a fresh, simple story of life, you can check this out.

Wow this book was so unique and special and I am exhausted after finishing it. The raw emotions of were palpable throughout the story.
What made me fall in love with the book is that it represents and entails this inhumane world, it shows the vulnerability, yearning, suffering as well as love, devotions that surrounds us all in our lives, in our minds
The writing is good and Daniel Hess did a great job bringing the characters to life. I enjoyed the unfolding of this magnificent story' of Ben from his early life to adulthood and connected with it.
I am in awe of new standpoint and world building that was presented.
What's beautifully achieved in this tale is that it includes such intricate journey of many facets life itself in a effortless.
Moreover the plot unfolding was pulled off in a way that i actually understood it and felt as if i was there right along side and Ben being part of the quest. What more does a reader wish for?

I was expecting a heavy read, surprisingly that didn't happen, for me this was a unputdownable read with emotions that had me turning pages chapter after chapter! I was so into the book that I read it in one sitting!

4.5 stars for the adrenaline pumping read

"Ben…a name I wish I could forget, but one that haunts me constantly. Well, I guess if
I’m going to talk about it, I might as well start at the beginning."

✓Life is a rollercoaster and is full of unexpected twists and turns. It takes a lot of years for a person to realise things about oneself. We are basically strangers to ourselves for a good period of time. In my opinion, this journey of understanding ourselves is called life.
✓Similarly, this book represents a story, centered around self-realization. Ben's journey and his realisation of various life elements such as sexuality, family and health have been penned down in the most interesting manner. I loved the idea of having POVs of the women he was close to like Lily.
✓The language is pretty lucid. The cover and the title is very appropriate. The cover clearly points out towards Ben. The entire story has been divided into forty plus short chapters. I really admire the writing style of Daniel Hess. The story is simple, yet intriguing. Many portions of the book are relatable and the story is pretty realistic. Highly recommended.

What do I say about this book? I have very mixed feelings about this one. Did I like it? Yes. Why did I like it? Don't really have a specific answer to that.
Focus Puller is the story of Ben. Who is Ben? Ben is just some dude living his life. He is not a hero, he is not likeable as well. It's his story.
~
The book starts off from nowhere and then that's just how it goes. We see a lot of seemingly minor incidents in Ben's life. But as the book progresses we realise that these same small incidents leave deeper prints on his life.
~
It made me think about my life as well. We tend to view and judge our life according to how we are living in the present. But it is our past actions that have brought us to today, and today's actions are going to build us a tomorrow.
~
I love how the book is written. The chapters jump to various parts of Ben's life, it makes us feel as if we are peeking through a window that open's into Ben's life.
~
My ratings: 4/5. It's short, smooth and entertaining read. Highly recommend!

This book centers around encounters that are normally named as little events yet in the end lead to significant life altering events. The creator has expanded the range of considerations and sentiments through the personality of Ben, delivering the features of one's own self from the perspective of someone else's focal point.
Ben is a straightforward and ordinarily troublesome person who has had a few uncommon experiences in his day to day existence. Simultaneously, we investigate his effect on the existences of others in a pretty much significant manner. Ben is certainly not an affable individual however once get the hang of his biography you'll comprehend that the individual who is currently has been a perfection of different circumstances. While perusing this you can look for something incredible which is dependably a captivating piece of perusing a book that is one of a kind, extraordinary and raising.

Focus puller is an engaging story penned down by Daniel Hess. The story talks about Ben, a simple and commonly difficult human being who has had some unusual encounters in his life. His life journey was little messy and he was dealing with several problems and struggles in his life like relationship, heartbreak, sexuality, family, past mistakes, childhood experience, emotional memories.

This was an interesting and enlightening journey of Ben. One can easily connect themselves with Ben because as a teenager we all go through these problems. The story is not so extraordinary, it's simply written with no drama. The narration makes the story feel very realistic. The writing style is engrossing, language is kept simple and cover is captivating. Overall, it was a good one time read. Go and grab it.

"Where do dreams come from?"
"My teacher told us they are like these sparks of light that fire in your brain. When they go off faster and faster you have a dream."
"So, it is like light hitting your eyes?"
"The most amazing light you've ever seen buddy. If you remember your dream tonight tell me about them tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay."

This story was unique in the way it is told. Focus Puller does not have your usual linear storyline and progression. It is told in the "present", or at least what we can assume is the present, and the past in no real order. You follow mostly Ben's POV as we are shown different scenes throughout his life, but we also get the perspective of others that he interacted with/was intimate with throughout his life.

These battling POV's made it very difficult for me to decide what type of person Ben truly is. There were moments where I empathized with his thoughts and what he was experiencing, but then times when I was a little disappointed by him because of the way he treated people. That felt like the point though. There is always the picture that we paint of ourselves, and then the picture that others paint of us. Somewhere in the middle is the truth of who we are defined by every choice that we have ever made. Ben’s journey is truly one of love and loss with some of that loss being of his own making.

There were so many nostalgic throwback moments throughout this story that made me think of my time in the early 2000's. From making me remember the late nights my sister and I would stay up watching South Park, to the alternative emo music we would listen to together, to Myspace. This story brought up a lot of memories.

The chapter titled "Us" made me sob and that's all I'll say about that.

Focus Puller is strictly character driven. There is no true plot. It is simply about Ben, his choices, and some moments that may have stolen his innocence from him. I am thankful to the author for providing me a copy with this story because it truly made me look back and reflect on some of my own experiences.

This book was a roller coaster, we get to follow the life of Ben and the life choices he makes and the ones he has to make thru the span of his journey.
.
We not only get to see the life of Ben from his perspective but from the perspective of others that get the chance to be part of his life in one way or another, we also get to see the impact these characters make in Ben's life and the other way around. I have to say in multiple instances I hated Ben for the way he acted or the way he said things, but the more I sat here and thought about it the more I could see that those were ways he only knew how to act and say things.
.
I also found myself relating with Ben, and with all the characters that made an appearance in the book in one way or the other, I love how the author manages to incorporate different important and little moments of Ben's daily life, but the most important to me is how he manages to add the mental health aspect in a very real way, in a way that many of us have probably been in more than once. That for me made this book really impact full and special. The fact that bad mental health is not an uncommon issue but one that WE ALL face in our daily life's.
.
I loved the writing in this book, and the way the book is divided in short chapters which made my reading experience even more pleasant. The titles of each chapter was also something I really loved.
.
The afterword which to me is a quote in itself and one to think about:
"There is no perfection in being a parent like there is no perfection in being a son. I've done the best I can being one and I'll do the best I can until I am done."

There are too many thoughts running in my mind as this book comes to a close. To begin with, Focus Puller by Daniel Hess wasn't an easy read. It was evolving and quite involving.

The book follows the story of Ben and his life. It is mostly warp and weft of his life that we read here. He is in a long term relationship with Lilly, his high-school sweetheart. But Lilly, he finds out, has been cheating on him. He decides to throw her out of the rented apartment they live in. But as we read on we know it isn't all that easy.

This is a highly character driven book and is a non- linear account of Ben's life. Initially this can incite a knee-jerk reaction from the readers because we aren't prepared for the back and forth in the storytelling.©

Focus Pulled is Daniel Hess’ debut novel and had I not known that going in, I probably wouldn’t have noticed. Though the narrative style takes a bit to get used to, the book still manages to be both insightful and accessible. We switch between not only different characters’ POVs but also different places on the timeline which helps keep the story engaging.

In this book, we follow our main character, Ben, as he is trying to figure out his life. I think this book is a character study more than anything. We get Ben’s chapters where we follow him in a limited manner. We also get first person POVs from different people in his life that really help to fill in the gaps of Ben’s life in a unique way. We may get a chapter from Ben and then later, get an entirely different view of it through the lens of someone else.

I would go more into the actual story but truly, there isn’t much of one. And there isn’t supposed to be. We are just seeing snapshots of a man going through his every day life. We learn about his relationships, his jobs, his highs and lows. I found Ben to be incredibly relatable in a lot of ways. I read a lot about characters that I am close to in age but the way this book is written, Hess uses things going on in the world to show where on the timeline we are with Ben. For example, Ben will be talking about going to a movie or listening to music of the time and it brought back so many memories of how I was at that time in my life. Ben was born in summer 1990. I was born in summer 1990. So the parallels were really fun to read about.

That being said, I’m not sure if it would resonate the same with someone born three or four years before or after 1990. To me, it was very nostalgic but for another reader, it may be very confusing. That was the one thing that kind of stuck out in this book as something that may not appeal to certain readers.

Also, if you are not a fan of a nonlinear story, this isn’t the book for you. I think the way the story unfolded had more of an emotional impact because of the story telling. You meant about the way Ben is the way he is and slowly unravel the why he is that way. I’m not even going to lie, there were parts of this book that were an absolute gut punch (looking at you, chapter “Us”). This story is incredibly cinematic. While reading, I could very clearly “see” everything that was going on. Learning that the author is a filmmaker, I can really see it reflected in his writing.

This is a book that won’t work for everyone but it really worked for me. I look forward to reading more from this author as he continues to grow. Thank you so much to the author for reaching out to me for the opportunity to read this! What an excellent debut.

Focus Puller is an interesting tale of an ordinary man - Ben, narrated through various incidents and interactions of him with other people. Ben's life from his childhood and teenage to his college life and his relationship with Lily and after breaking up with her is told in a non linear format through small chapters giving us an insight into his life and personality.

Life is a rollercoaster ride that sometimes goes up and then down and Ben's life is the same. His relationship with Lily is sweet and healthy in the initial years but then it turns sour and the two are frequently fighting with each other. When Ben can't tolerate more and gets tired of Lily cheating on him, he asks her to move out.

The book also explores Ben's career as a freelance videographer and his inclination towards creative fields like movie making, his sexuality and the constant need to seek satisfaction in relationships and build better relationships.

The book is enjoyable and interesting to read. It is written in a different format which feels refreshing. I won't say I was hooked right from the first page but I started liking the book after I was a few pages into it. There are a lot of characters - people who dated Ben, his friends etc. narrating the story and this gave book a feel of a documentary but I liked it. Overall, it was a nice read.

Focus Puller is a fab contemporary fiction novel by Daniel Hess. Ben is the protagonist and the whole book is an account of his life told non linearly through other characters or third person narration. The book's beauty lies in its simplicity and in its ability to be relatable in one way or the other.

Ben is a simple human being, someone whose happiness lies on seeing his loved ones happy. The book shows Ben's struggles career wise and relationship wise and some happy moments from his life. Through this novel, we come to understand the man Ben is, which is an interesting process.

The language used in the book is simple and accessible and the writing style is lucid. It is a short and sweet read that is enjoyable and relatable.

I started reading this book a couple of weeks ago in India and got super busy with the move and stuff ! Two days ago I picked it up where I left and it was just like I hadn’t ever stopped ! The writing is smooth and very easy to read making it even suitable for beginners in reading however I wasn’t a great fan of the MMC who is about 90% of this book itself . It’s not that I don’t like to read about unlikeable or dark characters or mundane stuff of ones life , it’s just that I found Ben a little self absorbed.

Focus Puller is the coming of age story of Ben a wedding videographer . Its the simple story of you and me. You see him make mistakes , you see him learn and you sometimes see he doesn’t . What he does with his life and how it affects both himself and people around him is what focus puller by is about. I flew threw this book when I picked it up the second time because the second half felt more realistic and fast paced and I really wanted to do what more things Ben really had to do in life. Also can we just take a moment to admire that cover please ! Not going to lie but I may have stared at it longer than intended and I think it for sure is the ‘focus puller’ here literally !

If you are someone who likes to read character driven books over plot driven ones especially told from multiple POVs then this could be your cup of tea.

This book highlights the persons' perspective towards life. I believe that this perspective is what makes a person. Every chapter of this book shows a spectrum of thoughts in the form of flashbacks of the protagonist and his life. Ben is the protagonist of the story. The book speaks about relationships, struggles, challenges, sexuality, and other complex stuffs that we all experience in this journey called life. In some chapters, the story is narrated by the opposite sex perspective. This is done to show the readers the other side of the story.

This book also talks about the choices that we make in order to live a happy life. It talks about the consequences of the choices that we make. This book will make you stand in the shoe of protagonist, and according to me that is the best way of showing someone a mirror. The protagonist is shown kind of an average which makes this story more realistic because in real life nobody is perfect, and we all have our own flaws. This book just focus or highlight those flaws and try to give a massage to the reader.

As the story progresses, the representations become more and more realistic, and clear.
More than the plot of the book, this book can also be read as a self-help book. The author broadens the scope of the book to include the reader. This is something new for me, and it took quite a long time to get used to this whole narration. But I like surprises, and this book didn't disappointed me at all. The vibrant thoughts and its consequences are so realistic, that you can't deny the fact that this book is a masterpiece in itself. The language of the book is simple, you will have to read few chapters to understand what author is trying to say. But once you get the hang of it, there is no looking back.

What an amazingly strange book this is. And I really mean this in a good way. I love finding gems like this when choosing to review books, this is one of those times I took a chance, being it's not the kind of book I usually read, but the description really had me intrigued.

Throughout the book we are taken through Ben's life, key memories of both him and ex partners are shared. What's good about this is that, whilst from Ben's perspective, he has this almost victim complex, he doesn't really see himself as doing much wrong. When we see snippets from other people experiences with Ben, that's not always the case. It really does make you wonder how people may see you, from their perspective. How do we REALLY come across??

I love how the story bounces between different memories every chapter, different ages and stages of Ben's life. There isn't anything held back, and frequently we see how Ben's sex life and sexual interests come about and evolve or change.

Being able to explore these intricacies of Ben's life, you really see that the most mundane of memories really do stay with people. But not just memories, people. Ben was a shitty guy sometimes, but he stays in peoples minds, particularly women he dated.

It's such a different kind of book, one that really does make you think about some of your own memories that may have shaped you or stuck with you. It's an enjoyable read and helped me to remember that even the most 'normal' memories in life could be one that changes you without even knowing.

Thanks so much to @bookstagrammerscom and @danhess90 for letting me read this book!! (I was given this book in return for a review, all opinions are my own!)

FOCUS PULLER
by
Daniel Hess.

185 pgs
Literature & Fiction

Focus Puller offers an insight into one man’s life over a span of decades, as he faces questions about life: family, relationships, sexuality, commitment, health/well-being and the choices we make. The non-linear and flashback sequence highlights the value of the seemingly small experiences of life and also reflects the imperfect nature of life experience. The book invites readers to think about their own lives; whether the oftentimes observations of others “through a lens” is ever applied to the self, and our own journey and life experiences.

📍This is a very different kindof read, an easy read, easy simple language & normal mundane content from a person's timeline, named Ben.
It's amusing as well as relatable how small small things matter so much & make a huge difference in how a person feels.
From teenage lovemaking & adrenaline rush, to being independent & on your own, to completing little tasks early in the morning that make you feel you have accomplished something, to understanding your family, to having your family as your silent support system, to taking care of your pets, to working extra jobs for paying rent & al..etc etc
As we go along, we make mistakes, learn from them & grow up.
This book is a simple story which makes us realise how fast we mature from the little person our parents pampered to the one, we are now. A good one time read.

Focus puller by Daniel hees.

This story revolves around a young man called Ben. His life was narrated over decades. Ben is a common man who faces the common issues with family, relationships, and sexuality. We can connect with the Story of Ben so easily. He is like a next-door boy.

The story narration was in a non-linear pattern. It's narrated in multiple pov's mostly from Ben's Ex. Girlfriends. I felt it was a bit slow phases. Because of the non-linear pattern, it took some time to settle for me.

Ben was portrayed in a negative shade character it's something new to me read from negative character. The narration was something very unique and interesting to read. Overall it's very good to read.

If you are looking for something very unique narration go for it. You might like it. Happy reading.

Focus Puller is a mind boggling contemporary fiction penned down by Daniel Hess. It is story of Ben, from his childhood to adulthood and more, spanning over decades told in a non linear way. The snapshots of Ben's life showing and questioning different aspects like family and relationships is what makes the essence of this book.

The author has done a wonderful job by keeping the narration/storytelling non linear as it keeps the book interesting. The author has also used foreshadowing which increases the excitement of the readers. Book is written in a lucid and perspicuous style which makes it easy to read even with the non linear format. All the characters are well written, especially that of the protagonist Ben.

This is a simple book yet it is very insightful and thought provoking. It will make you think about life and significance of different things in it. The book was a short read for me and I finished reading it in one sitting which shows that it is a gripping read. Overall, it was a lovely and different book that I am glad to have read as it gave me a nice and meaningful reading experience. Definitely worth checking out!

Focus Puller by Daniel Hess is a unique book containing a non linear and dynamic story line. The book gives us an insight into how slight and small incidents that happen to an individual can leave their effect on the person over a long period of time. The book widens the perspective of the reader about life as it contains many incidents and the changes those incidents bring forth in a person's life.

The book contains many incidents that are like chapters all leading to one person Benjamin. The protagonist of the book is Ben but the chapters are from the point of view of many different characters that play their part in Ben's life. The book explores many emotions and genre like romance, drama and many more categories.

The story line of the book is very dynamic which makes the book highly interesting and very gripping. The character development of Ben is shown, also incidents and characters that shape up Ben's character are discussed. The language and written style is simple making the book easily comprehensible. The chapters of the book are short. The book is written in a well paced manner. I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend it.

.....
Honestly,by looking the cover,I assumed that this book will be a self-help or self-development book. But the blurb proved my assumption wrong.
Yess..I chose this book after reading the blurb as it aroused a different curiousity within me.

This book was a wonderful read for me.A book with multiple point of views and the character developed so well.I am actually amazed as to how a person can come with such a thing.

The flashbacks and the povs of the people who are from the past life of the author made the book more interesting for me.

The author has done a very beautiful jon in writing such book.It was a mere read of 186 pages but the way in which author has narrated multiple POVs is commendable.

The narration of the things was done in a beautiful manner by the author.

Somewhere,I felt cover is intriguing but it didn't match the plot that much or the overall vibe of the book is not depicted from the it.

So,a wonderful read which anyone can read it but I would suggest this to everyone who wants to read multiple POVs book. Its damn interesting!

This is a GOOD BOOK 💙

⭐⭐⭐✨️
(Its more like 3.75 / 5)

The main character of the book , Ben is niether a hero nor likeable.  He is more like the opposite. But the plot was so smooth and I wanted to know how and where Ben would end up.

The writing style was simple that even a beginner could enjoy the book grasping its themes. The book was a completely a simple but an extraordinary experience for me. It would be better for yall to get into the book with knowing a less about the book. In that way you'll find this more enjoyable. I liked how the POV shifted from Ben to his various ex-lovers and how the memory shifted swiftly.

I am glad that I read this book because it made me realize the importance of the least significant things in life. How those tiny bits of normal things could make bigger impacts in our life. Wow !

Review:

The protagonist of the story is Ben, he is not the dramatic Hero or the Main character whom we obsess about, he is portrayed as a simple man living his life and focus puller is his story from different angles. The story has a lot of POVs and adds more views to Ben's life. I liked it but I can't say I loved it and I think the author wanted us to see a real mans view and not add fiction into the mix.

The story is a collection of happenings in Ben's life that we look into and the POVs we see are the way the story evolves and it was completely new to me. I've read realistic fiction before but not this realistic I suppose. The writing style was easy to get into, the flow was good, the language was perfect for this book, the characters in Ben's life were well written, the plot was consistently, the theme didn't click with me, the realism in the plot was good, the execution of the storyline is intriguing. Overall a good read for people who read realistic fiction, though this book wasn't my cuppa tea.

A contemporary fiction of around 200 pages revolving around a man Ben.

Author has used multiple perspectives which carefully puts readers into protagonists place.
Plot is a little messy when we start with alot of flashbacks thrown in our faces, but it becomes interesting and relatable gradually.
The plot portrays Ben in all life stages physically and mentally.
be it the stage of innocence, adolescence or gaining maturity, you'll see it all.
unlike other contemporary fiction, author has not put the protagonist on a golden pedestal.
Ben is just like you and me with troubles we relate to.
Overview

1. The plot takes off messy, it'll take time to grow on you.

2. Readers who like a dreamworld, please skip it, this one is meant for the real world.

3. Characters and plots were very raw, if you're a practical person this book is for you.

4. Since the story is real simple, I would suggest this one for readers at beginner level too
