From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin comes a thrilling new standalone romance.
She was the girl next door. His brother’s ex. And the woman he spent a decade pretending to hate . . .
After twenty years of service, the Navy told me it’d be too risky to operate again, forcing me to retire as a Navy SEAL. Going back to my hometown to lick my wounds and figure out what came next was never the plan. Neither was having to turn to some old friends to save my younger brother’s life when he wound up in trouble. It was smooth sailing at first. Until I realized my brother lied. And I was falling for my fake girlfriend—my brother’s ex-fiancée.
He wasn’t only my ex’s brother, he was the most frustrating man I’d ever met.
The last person I expected to save me when my Jeep broke down was Ryan Rossi—a distant, broody, sexy man who’d been a thorn in my side for years. I had no time or room for him in my life. I should’ve been on top of the world after my restaurant survived its first year. Instead, I was drowning in debt and living in my childhood home right next door to that handsome thorn.
When Ryan offered help, a favor for a favor, how could I say no? All I had to do was find him a girlfriend within a week. Someone who wasn’t me. Because no way could I offer to fake date him, even if I found myself desiring him at every turn. And yet, the next thing I knew, I was in Tuscany with Ryan down on one knee. For me.
While the relationship may have been fake, the danger wasn’t. And Ryan once again proved not all heroes wear capes.
Brittney Sahin began writing at an early age, with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing—never stopped imagining.
It wasn’t until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students’ advice and begin to write again.
In 2015, she published her first novel, The Safe Bet. When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.
Until You Can’t is the perfect book!!! It’s filled with action, steam, spice, heartache, growly alpha men, sassy independent women, family drama, twists, and so much more. It’s the book that keeps on giving and it’s the book of all books!!!! I had a hard time putting it down and I even read it more than once.
Even though Until You Can’t is a standalone, it has the mother load of character crossovers!!!! Some of my favs are in this book and it makes me want to start reading from the very beginning. Having so many crossovers is the one of the best things about this book!!! It’s like a trip down memory lane with all your old insanely hot military man crush friends.
Ryan Rossi and Natalia Romano’s relationship is a frenemies to lovers romance and it’s slow burn with so much teasing and tension. And when they finally get together….Sorry can’t give away all the juicy details. You gotta read them all in the book.
If you can’t tell I highly recommend this book. This is without a doubt one of my fav books of Brittney’s. Every book I read of hers pulls you into the world she has created and you are sucked in until you finish the last word. She’s a master of words and her talent truly shines in her books! Until You Can’t is a guaranteed one-click and an instant add to your cart for the paperback so you can add this pretty thing to your bookshelf. Trust me, you want this book in your life!!
Don’t forget to check out the new bonus scenes on Brittney’s website!!!
I think this has become one of my favorite reads. I loved this story. The build up for this story is a slow burn, and a perfect example of the right person wrong time. This is a new standalone, but set in the same world she currently writes in. Personally I hope it does turn into a new series. Poor Brittney, her side characters are just as memorable as her main characters. Haha. Pretty sure all the Book Babes will be begging for even more books now. Until You Can't was a surprise, but it was the beat surprise, a surprise book none of us realized we needed. This had a bunch of fun connections in it. You get to see some of our favorite Stealth guys and Noah. Yay!!! I loved the message that was sent in this book. Basically keep fighting.. until you can't. Ryan and Natalia were so sweet and in true Sahin book fashion she has tough as nails leading ladies and men who stand along side them and worship the ground they walk on. It is powerful! I love it!!! Cannot wait to see if Brittney pulls out any more surprises.
Until You Can’t by Brittney Sahin is everything a slow burn romance needs to be.
Brittney has perfected the art of series crossovers. Until You Can’t is a testament to this combining her Stealth Ops series and Hidden Truth series into a brand new standalone book.
Do you need to read either series beforehand? No. Should you? Absolutely!!
The chemistry between Ryan and Talia is scorching and jumps off the pages. The banter between these two is the perfect blend of pent up sexual tension and humour that it’s hard not to root for them from the first few chapters.
As always, Brittney Sahin has woven a tale with the right amount of action/adventure/intrigue sending us globe trotting along with our couple and who ever else has decided to come along for the ride. All the while, allowing us to experience Ryan and Talia love story.
A wonderful read and, fingers crossed, we’ll see another book soon from the secondary characters.
I’ve been a fan of this author for a while now and was excited when she announced that she’d be releasing a standalone, but this book was a massive miss. The plot had potential, but the execution was lacking, and by the last quarter of the book I found myself practically scrolling just to make it to the end.
Honestly, the issues started in the prologue, set 3 years before chapter 1. First of all, it was far too long. I understand that prologues set up the story, but this one exceeded that by a mile. At this point in the story, Ryan and Natalia are not a couple since she was in a relationship with his brother. I don’t mind that fact, actually, but what bothered me was that NATALIA WAS BLATANTLY FLIRTING/MAKING EYES AT/SIMPING OVER RYAN WHEN SHE WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS BROTHER! I mean really? Based on that alone, my first impression of Natalia was not great.
Also, at the time, Ryan had been “trained operator” for over a decade yet completely disregarded medical professionals for weeks regarding his health–he lied to people about it and begged Natalia not to take him to the hospital. He ended up in the ER, and he only told the Navy about it because the ER doctor threatened to do so. Had the doctor not forced his hand, Ryan would have likely said nothing, continued operating and putting his teammates at risk. Additionally, Ryan’s internal and external dialogue came across as very pretentious and immature, not like a 36-year-old “elite operator.”
I could give you notes every chapter, but we’d need more time. Grammatical errors and continuity issues were distracting. For example, when intruders appear in the kitchen, Ryan tells us that their faces are covered but later mentions they have beards. Also, “The men may have been armed, but there were multiple ways I could take down these pricks.” Followed a few paragraphs later: “I might have been a special operator, but I couldn’t charge the two guys without getting pumped full of lead.” Did no one else notice this? At the beginning of chapter 27, Ryan makes a point to throw every pillow to the floor before “devouring her,” then suddenly she’s got a pillow again: “Once knocking every pillow to the floor…She lifted her head from the pillow.”
There are too many examples to list, which unfortunately ruined this book for me.
I swear every book from this author gets better. She makes it so you feel like you are in the story, watching it unfold. I love how the females are always strong and don’t need a man to save them and the men are all military but fall to their knees for the right woman.
This story really stuck with me for some reason though. I absolutely love the meddling mothers, the second chance at love, and all of the secret admiration they have for each other. This book was just absolutely incredible.
Until You Can’t is Brittney’s 27th book and she does not disappoint. The two main characters Ryan and Natalia who I fell in love with from the very first page, have loved each other for years with either not knowing how the other really feels. It’s her ex Ryan’s brother that brings them back together as he finds himself in trouble or is he really. I love the way that Brittney interwinds characters from her other books into a completely new story line and makes it work. It was great to see the boys back from Bravo team (Stealth Ops series) and Noah (Someone Like You) to help out an old seal friend. This book is a standalone but I’m hoping there’s going to be at least one more for Maria, Natalia’s sister and Enzo, her friend as he has definitely got a story to tell. There is action, humour, steamy scenes, over protective alpha males and chapters 31 & 32 will get you reaching for the tissues. Thank you again Brittney for yet another amazing book. Enjoy everyone.
Once again Brittney Sahin has written a book that I could not put down!
I was completely enthralled from the first chapter to the last. I really enjoyed meeting Ryan and Natalia, as well as Enzo, Maria, and Christian, (I even enjoyed having a charactter to NOT like much...lol) and am looking forward with great interest to see how these characters develop from here.
(Just as an aside, it is SO difficult to be so excited about a book, but not want to say anything that might be a spoiler...lol I HIGHLY recommendthis book!!)
Until You Can't is a deliciously detailed, slow burn that will keep you turning the page until the end. Ryan's loyalty knows no bounds and would protect his brother no matter the cost. Nat is strong willed and determined. The character development and plot from beginning to end is on point. Ryan and Nat absolutely wrecked me in the best way. Until You Can't is a book I wish I could read again for the first time.
Meet a new line of people while having visits from some of Brittney Sahin's previous characters.
Ryan and Natalia are the couple that were meant to be; BUT time and circumstances just wouldn't let it happen. Now it's their time......well kinda. If they want to save Ryan's brother, who just so happens to be Natalia's ex. Did I mention the circumstances? Like with all Brittney Sahin couples, these two have heat from page 1. It's a guaranteed "cancel all your plans till its finished" llpage turner!
What a phenomenal read. Ryan and Talia’s story is a real page turner. They start out as supposed enemies , then move to cautious friends as they try and help Ryan’s brother and Talia’s ex fiancé , who has been kidnapped and held for ransom over serious gambling debts, pay off his debt. As things escalate and other things come to light so do their actual suppressed feelings for one another. How it all works out is one beautiful and heartwarming read!
Another fantastic book that is a great crossover. You have characters from Bravo in stealth Ops, you have other characters from her other series. You will love this book and hopefully more to come like this one!!!
Slow burn builds to an outright wildfire!! New players in Brittney 's world, with some familiar faces making appearances. Great romance and very hot love scenes.
Until You Can't is absolute perfection in written form. It's pages are filled with growly alpha men, Sassy strong women, action, unexpected twists, a bit of family drama, and the best steamy scenes.
This is a Standalone book however, it has the BEST crossovers! It's like meeting up with all of your best friends that you haven't seen in a while. It absolutely makes you want to do a re-read from the very beginning.
This is the Story of Ryan and Natalia. Their story is beautiful, complex, and slow burn. Ryan is former active military who is lost after being discharged. Searching for his way as a civilian and finding his place in his new life. Natalia is a restaurant owner struggling to keep her business open but refuses to lean on her family for support. They are frenemies to lovers with the exact amount of teasing and build up.
I HIGHLY Recommend This BOOK. Brittney is truly a favorite author but this book quickly became one of my favorites from her. As with all of her books she sucks you in to her world and makes the world around you cease to exist. I couldn't put this book down!
2.5 stars rounded to 3, which I'll explain later. Brittney Sahin still holds a special place in my heart as one of two authors who helped guide me into a more open-minded place in regard to the romance genre with her Dublin Nights series. Parker S. Huntington is the second author. Had it not been for those two, I might never have even dipped my toes in the pool of lovey dovey romance.
But alas, it's a two-edged sword.
Because what sprouts an interest (and eventual love) on my part for a genre can also sprout more criticism, especially when I become more familiar with tropes, trends, and formulas. I'm at a point where I expect authors to outdo even their OWN selves for every new story. To be fair, I'll admit that I've simply become more difficult to please nowadays.
When it comes to THIS story, there wasn't anything too splendidly original. Ok, maybe SOME new (ish) things, but they were few and far between the usual formulas: Hot ex-Navy SEAL (Ryan) and gorgeous heroine (Natalia), aka, his brother's ex-fiancé. They hate one another (pfft, no they don't). Once they reunite after some time apart, they both need favors from one another, one of which involves finding a fake girlfriend for Ryan to fulfill a specific purpose, which I won't spoil.
Though *gasp!* How ever will they ignore their own fixations on one another? Infatuations that even time itself was powerless to kill? Is it love? Well it’s suppose to be, tho I had trouble buying it. More lust, in my opinion. They're both adults and both incredibly horny, so pretty much most of the sex scenes are a result of lacking control (yawn). There's of course a moment that involves dressing up (which almost always leads to, shocker, MORE sex). Oh, and can't forget the military danger, which is at least ONE of the requirements for military stories, romances or not.
It was all blah, blah, blah to me. Some sweet, tender moments exist, surely, but eh. Nothing too stirring. I've had my heart ripped out of my chest for plenty of other stories (even by Sahin herself) that took my breath away, and this simply wasn't one of them. The only reasons I rounded this up to three stars were the character dialogues and interactions, as well as all the splendid cameos of characters from Sahin's past books. I didn't expect this, but I definitely delighted in it.
All in all, it's still the same ol' thing. Not dreadful, not amazing. I will forever have a soft spot for Sahin. At the end of the day, even if the stories don't wow me, she's still a great TELLER of a story.
I loved this book! I've read all the series of Britney Sahin and wasn't sure what to expect from a standalone. I shouldn't have worried! Ryan and Talia were instantly loveable and I was immediately drawn into the story. I laughed, I had butterflies and yes even a few tears. I love the mention of past series characters BUT if you hadn't read these books - you wouldn't be lost. Amazing. Grab it now!!!
Ryan and Tahlia were made for each. They are such a cute couple. Both so crazy independent and family loyal that it almost made them miss out on their own magical love. I really liked how Brittney didn't just end the story after they admitted they loved each other like most authors. She extended the story allowing us to continue to be immersed in the world we all love so much and see a glimpse into life after they fall in love. Reading books from Brittney leave me with a sense of calm and love and hope that the world, although it has bad people in it, also has amazing selfless hero's and heroines that will never be out of the fight so we can continue to enjoy the wonderful worlds from authors like Brittney Sahin.
Loved it! I had a hard time putting it down and ended up finishing it in 2 days. Loved the chemistry between Ryan and Natalia and overall just loved Ryan! And seeing glimpses of other characters with their little connections was another plus! Although I should have expected this, it ended up being better than expected and just what we needed to read from her at this time! I love being introduced to some new characters in a totally different way, while also seeing glimpses of the old ones.
It’s the Brittney Sahin book we didn’t know we needed! Brittney has written another page turner that you will not want to put down. She immerses the reader into the fictional world with her descriptive writing to where you really connect with the characters.
Until You Can’t is full of romance, steam, broody protective men, strong independent females, love, laughter, and second chances…with a side of action of course. And holy crossover characters! There are so many fan favorites brought into this book. It was like a mini reunion with our old friends.
I fell in love with Ryan and Natalia, and you will too!
Ryan and Talia had me on the edge of my seat!!! Brand new characters, but fell in love with this just as much as Luke and Jessica! I absolutely LOVED this book and now I’m sad it’s over. This book is EVERYTHING! So many emotions, grab the wine and enjoy this beautiful book!
For those who love connected stories and feeling like your world just got a little bit smaller this book is perfect. Somehow bringing new characters to life and perfectly weaving them into an already existing world so seamlessly makes this an absolute masterpiece. Action packed, with tons of steamy romance, witty characters and just enough southern male charm to melt everything you won’t be able to put it down.
I couldn’t finish this. It was all over the place with the timeline. Didn’t like the characters and it just bored me. I won’t go on further because there are other reviews that say it better.
“Until You Can’t” is a thrilling, angst filled and slow burn romantic suspense delight that pulled me in from prologue and kept me turning the pages as I devoured Ryan and Natalia’s story.
Ryan is back home after leaving the Navy SEALs due to injury and living back in his childhood home as he figures out his next career move. Natalia is also back home while she gets her restaurant up and running. Ryan and Natalia have a history and chemistry that had always been simmering under the surface. But there’s one thing standing in their way: Natalia is Ryan’s brother's ex-girlfriend. But when his brother needs his help when some bad guys are after him, Ryan and Natalia’s paths collide and they work together to save him.
This is by far my favorite book by Brittney Sahin. From the tension to the attraction to the wanting to the slow burn, this book checks off all the boxes for me. Brittney Sahin crafted such an amazing story that brought in some old favorites but completely stands on its own. Ryan was genuine, caring, protective and full of growly goodness. Natalia is fierce, independent, smart and not afraid of a challenge. The tension and attraction between these two is off the charts hot. There are some steamy scenes that are going to be living rent free in my mind for a long time. I loved Natalia’s sister, Maria and her best friend, Enzo. There is something brewing there and I hope we get their story soon.
Another fantastic romantic suspense from Brittney Sahin. I'd give this a bit more than a 4. Maybe 4.25, but alas, Goodreads likes the good old one-star system.
I loved both of our two main characters, Ryan and Natalia. These two characters were not strangers to me as they make regular appearances in the new Costa series, especially the first book. So no surprises with their characters and I enjoyed getting to know them much better. And of course to get their story.
As with many of Sahin's books, this one is a couple that has had a very long pining for each other. Natalia was Ryan's brother's ex-fiance (and yes that was VERY messy) and Ryan, of course, hide his attraction for her because of said brother ... who frankly didn't deserve the consideration because he was a selfish shit.
The story does start because of said selfish shit brother getting himself into trouble and Ryan, who constantly feels he has to protect his brother, rides to the rescue. Of course, it's not that easy and he asks Natalia for help. Now I won't go into too much detail because that would give far too much away, but suffice too say Ryan needs a "fiance" and Natalia fits the bill.
What I liked about this story is that it had so many of her wonderful characters from other stories, i.e. Noah, Owen & Samantha, Luke, Asher and Jessica and a wee mention of The League from Dublin Nights. I also liked the fact that it wasn't Natalia being threatened and who needed rescuing. That was a nice switch. It was his idiot brother who needed it, but also how it folded in the Bravo team from Stealth Ops was great.
Considering how rare Sahin writes standalone books, this one was perfect but still fit perfectly into her world of great heroes and unforgettable heroines.
Until You Can’t is a stand alone novel from Brittney Sahin but it is tied to so many of her worlds!! There are glimpses into the Bravo worlds, the Dublin series and the OG Safe Bet! Now you don’t need to have read all of her books to read this book but if you have it will be like a cozy warm blanket of familiarity to wrap yourself in!
The story of Ryan and Natalia is wonderful! Natalia is Ryan’s brothers former fiancé. But more than that she was the younger girl next door, the girl he always saw when he came home from deployment, the girl who the timing was never right with. Ryan was the sexy older boy next door, you know the one you have a crush on your whole life but don’t dare tell anyone about! When your mom suggests you date his younger brother you think well he could never possibly be interested in me so why not try the next best thing. Isn’t that how all bad ideas start???
The boy that inadvertently brought them together, Anthony, Ryan’s brother gets into a world of trouble. Ryan and Natalia work together with some of the Bravo members to get Anthony out of his troubles.
This was such an amazing book the slow steam build was so good I couldn’t get enough of their love story! Brittney this was so good! I loved the introduction of new characters and the snugly comfort of our familiar ones!
Another great ready by Brittney. As an author she never disappoints us readers. She also brings in some other characters from her past books including Michael Maddox, and some of Luke's team.
The storyline between Ryan Rossi and Natalia Romano is a slow burn. They grew up together and there has always been something between them but as Natalia grows up she thinks Ryan hates her. She ends up with Ryan's younger brother Anthony and as time goes on she knows that Anthony is not the guy for her.
A few years later and Natalia is struggling financially and Ryan comes back into the picture when his brother is in trouble after some huge gambling debts. Ryan has to find a way to come up with some major funds so his brother will not be killed.
This brings Ryan and Natalia back together as he is staying at his childhood home and so is Natalia (next door neighbors).
Ryan must find someone as a fake girlfriend in order to get the inheritance he has stated in the past that he wants nothing to do with it, but Anthony's life is a stake so he will do what is necessary to help his little brother.
This story has twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I won't give anything else away, just know this is a must read.
Brittney Sahin has mastered the art of writing military suspense/romance. Each story leads you not only on an adventure but into another world, a world that she has simply sucked readers into, willingly and completely.
Ryan Rossi and Natalia Romano have a past. One filled with regret, anger, misconceptions, and a bit of longing. Now, it seems fate has thrown them together…but why? Apparently his brother/her ex is the common denominator. But the heated attraction between them is still there and both once again deny it. He needs her, she needs him. When the daunting hour closes in, they turn to each to fix the one thing that has been the barrier to the whole relationship, that common denominator.
Ryan is that confidant Alpha Hero we need in a story. Natalia is our fierce and loyal heroine. Two forces that are unstoppable. We get a bonus of a crossover of our Stealth Ops guys and former teammates. All these powerful Alphas in one book 🔥. And per usual, Sahin’s research is impeccable. Relatable storylines and such vivid and descriptive surroundings. Highly recommend this book. And make sure to check out bonus scenes.
Until.You.Can’t….What a Title, What a powerful message between these two characters that once again Brittney Sahin has given us. Ryan Rossi and Natalia Romano have been destined to be with each other. They just had to take a long a bumpy road with a lot of heart ache and pain for both of them. Brittney has written a story that sucks you in from the beginning with another one of her amazingly hot Alpha males and her strong sassy female characters that will have you feeling that tension from the beginning, as well as crying and laughing along the way. She does a fantastic job of bringing back some of her old characters from past novels and reminds us of the OGs she made us all fall in love with. Just think about Asher, Luke and Michael Maddox, yep those fantastic men and of course Jess one of our all time favorites! They all have little cameos and Brittney has done such a great job with this book you don’t want to put it down. Until you can’t is about fighting for the love you thought you’d never have. One of my favorite lines in the book “Since we both have the world,” he huskily began, then teasingly licked the seam of my lips, “I think it’s time you see some stars.” -Ryan Rossi Swoon!!
This book deserves 10+ stars! Great characters, suspense, romance, spice, action and adventure can all be counted on with every book by Brittney.
Every book I’ve read by Brittney Sahin has been incredible, but this one is superb. Natalia/Talia and Ryan are new characters, but Ryan is a retired Navy SEAL who went through BUD/s with Luke, Owen, Knox and Noah; and he knows most of the other SEALS who inhabit Brittney’s fabulous world.
Ryan is trying to save his brother Anthony, who was Talia’s former fiancé, from an apparent kidnapping for ransom to pay gambling debts to a loan shark. His brother is a former NHL player with a gambling addiction who seems to be a selfish and childish jerk.
I thoroughly loved meeting the new characters, especially Talia and Ryan, and all of the new characters quickly seemed like old friends. Getting the chance to see so many beloved characters from Brittney’s previous books was wonderful.
Each new release from Brittney always seems to be better than her last and yet she continues to somehow keep delivering even more incredible books. She is one of my absolute favorite authors!
I received a free ARC from the author and her publisher; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
What a phenomenal book Brittney Sahin has written. Until You Can't really ticks all the boxes. Slow burn romance, electrifying chemistry between the sassy heroine, and the gruff former SEAL operator hero, a family member you may want to throat punch, some hard hitting action, danger, cross over characters and some heartstopping angst. Then there's the sizzling tension and spicy byplay that will have you danning yourself. Phew! Honestly I wanted to get the book read fast so I knew what happens but then again I didn't want it to end. That's the mark of a talented writer and an exceptional story. I also know that a complete re-read of the Stealth Ops and Hidden Truths series is in my future.
Ryan Rossi is just delicious. He's also too darn noble, self-sacrificing and loyal. There are those that merit those qualities. Then there are those who have lied to him, played him dirty and and cheated him yet he gives them his all regardless. Natalia Romano is sassy, witty, determined and beautiful. For over a decade she and Ryan have stuffed their feelings for one another down deep. His brother, her former fiance, has been what seems to be an insurmountable object betweeen them. Now may finally be their time but the brother has thrown a monkey wrench in the works by getting himself in real danger. Despite all that's gone on between them, Ryan once again feels the need to take care of the problem. Talia is with him every step of the way despite Ryan's objections. His selflessness may finally be his undoing. Not if Talia has anything to say about it.
