Full disclosure: I am good friends with the author and have known her a long time. She is exceptionally talented. Here's my review.

While I enjoyed this for the reasons above, this book is quite a charming take on an American life. This story would be lovely read for teenagers and for those born in the early 1950s. Elizabeth sees her life's experiences through the eyes of an artist with detailed observations. The amazing recollections bring back memories for those of us in her generation.

The story also gives some insight into Queens, New York, a part of the city that does not often get the attention of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Nice job by a very nice person.
