Hiding in Vesea, after daimons arrived from the Netherworld and angels returned to Heaven, isn’t easy for Natka. To make matters worse, Ryker has once again hidden the White Crystal – proof of the broken trust between them, and Natka can’t remain out of sight forever.
The daimons are ready to take control of a world where a fragile peace exists between them, the fae, and the merfolk. Can Nat rely on anyone? Regardless of trust, she will have to take the White Crystal to the Edge of the World, where she must throw it away so that no one can ever use it again. The problem is, she can’t do it alone…
This quest presents new twists and turns, unforeseen challenges, and dark truths. Natka will be forced to make decision which might cost her everything and change the world.
I just finished this duology after the author reached out to me and over all I loved it.
If there was one thing that I could critique about it would be when Devton says “ Until whatever end”. It reminded me a lot of the quote from SJM’s Throne of glass series. I just wish they had their own little Unique quote.
Out side of that the story line and plot I feel is completely unique and original. It has amazing world building and very well paced. This is definitely a book I will re read in the future ☺️
I did not think this book would be as good as the first but wow was I shocked! I was gripped right from the start. So many emotions and plot twists!! I don’t even think I can put into words how much I loved this series!! I absolutely adore Devton. The world building is just outstanding. Each character has a story to them - even the side characters are more than just names and faces.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this series any more if I tried!! It is definitely in my list for favourite series.
In this second part of the story you are taken so much deeper than the first. There are such personality changes from who you thought these characters were and what they now have become. There were many times I was about to lose it when things were happening I wasn’t expecting. This world is written with so much intrigue that you just have to see what’s going to happen to it. I was surprised by some things and had guessed a few things correctly. Interesting take on these fantastical beings.
The author has a lot of creativity and potential. The world building was awesome. Very Dynamic Heroine. However, the romantic interests are horribly disappointing. The men are portrayed as strong and worthy only to be revealed as weak and abusive. It is disappointing to find yet another author who has to weaken the male in order to elevate the female. Why can’t they be a team that builds each other up?
Action packed! I think book 1 had more character development with Natka coming to understand and accept who she is, but this book focused on series of events while allowing Natka to come to grips with her feelings and choices in her relationships with Ryker and Devton. Lots of interesting twists and turns and some new characters to add nuance to the story!
