Ella prežila hektický prvý rok v Paríži. Musela si zvykať na európsku kultúru, pendlovala medzi dvomi potenciálnymi objektmi lásky a objavovala stovky druhov syra. Jej život sa konečne ustálil a už pol roka žije s predavačom v obchodíku so syrmi, Sergeom a je im spolu úžasne. Ich pohodu však naruší Ellino nečakané tehotenstvo.

Victoria Brownlee is a new author to me, I did intend buy her previous book but failed to get there, so I came into this without having a clue what to expect.
Possibly should have realised it was a sequel, but honestly other than twigging quite early on that it was, the book can easily be read as a standalone. I never felt disadvantaged from not having seen exactly how Ella and Serge got together.
i loved seeing how this couple dealt with a pregnancy and a possibly in Ella's case reluctant moving from Paris to the french countryside and taking over a goat farm!
You really get a feel for the French way of life in this book, which I enjoyed immensely.
Purely down to personal preference there was perhaps a bit too much cheese mentioned, but that is simply because I don't eat it, and have no desire to learn much about the million varieties there appear to be!!
Besides that minor point, I loved this book. It has an easy to read writing style, which flowed really well, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
I enjoyed seeing how two people who are quite different can try to become a family unit and their friends and family were a welcome set of characters to get to know.
With fab French Food, the Loire Valley, some bits of Paris life, a new business and a baby on the way, this is a really entertaining read, and I look forward to seeing what the author writes next.

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Fromage à Trois last year. It was a fresh and funny story, a great debut. For that reason, it was a no brainer to read this second part.
The story continues right where it ended in the previous book. Ella and Serge are now together and she loves cheese and France. But now, there’s a new ingredient in the story, un bébé. Life is about to change for both of them. More so, because Serge wants to go to the country and settle down there.
I liked the new setting of the story, the French country seems to be beautiful but most of the time, when talking about books in France, we get to see stories with a Paris setting. Therefore, it was a nice change.
We also get to know Ella and Serge in a different environment, out of their comfort zones and it certainly will not be easy for them and their relationship.
The story develops smoothly and is fast-paced. The writing continues to be fresh and enjoyable. Nevertheless, I did not like Ella as much as I liked her in the first book. There were many misunderstandings and a lot of things that seemed silly to me, but I guess it was a part of the story. What I felt about the ending was that it seemed a little bit rushed. Like everything was solved quickly. The part about the birth and the first days did not seem very accurate either (but again, it is a fiction novel, right?). I did like the Epilogue and it makes me wonder if there will be a third book (I’d read it, of course). I also liked the new characters like Chuck and seeing a new side of old characters such as Ella’s Mom, Clotilde and Chris, and more of characters like Billie.
Overall, it was a nice story, a perfect book to read in one evening. Although it was not as good as the first book, at least for me; I enjoyed it and will keep an eye for Victoria’s upcoming books.

I was so happy to hear Brownlee wrote a sequel to Fromage à Trois! It'd been awhile since I'd read that, but you're caught up within the first few pages of Brioche in the Oven.
Ella, an Australian, hasn't been in France long but has managed to fall in love. And make a baby. That's where the story picks up: Her boyfriend wants to move to a goat farm in the Loire Valley, but Ella is hesitant to leave her beloved Paris.
I think of Ella as a less neurotic, more put-together Bridget Jones (but still very much figuring it all out). A fair amount of the book seems to take place in her thoughts, which felt true to life (or at least, my life...).
As with Fromage à Trois, this one made me crave bread and cheese pretty much throughout. It was enjoyable to transport myself to the French countryside for a little while - as long as that's not an option in real life, I extra appreciate books like this.

Efter att ha flytt till Frankrike på grund av ett dåligt uppbrott, har Ella hittat det hon vill ha. Hon har ett bra liv i Paris tillsammans med osthandlaren Serge, hon har vänner och hon kan äta all ost hon vill. Allt är som det ska. Tills hon upptäcker att hon är gravid, och börjar oroa sig för att hon och Serge inte känner varandra nog väl och att han ska göra som hennes tidigare pojkvän och sticka när det börjar gå dem emot. Istället tar Serge emot nyheten med öppna armar, men börjar planera för en framtid som Ella inte nödvändigtvis håller med om. När han insisterar att de ska flytta ut från Paris och till en getgård, går hon med på att ge det en chans. Men det idylliska landet är inte allt vad hon hoppats på, utan verkar istället bygga upp mur efter mur mellan henne och Serge. När den brittiske författaren Chuck dyker upp, är Ella glad över att åtminstone någon verkar glad över att se henne.
En brioche i ugnen är den andra delen i serien Fromage à Trios (fantastisk serietitel) och även om den absolut går att läsa fristående skulle jag rekommendera att läsa böckerna i ordning. Mest för att man då får en helt annan förståelse för hur de har hamnat här.
Tyvärr, måste jag säga eftersom jag faktiskt tyckte om första delen i serien, är jag inte såld på uppföljaren. Att Serge plötsligt gör ett personlighetsbyte och blir så nonkommunikativ, manipulerande och en bulldozer som bara kör över och på utan att ens nästan prata med Ella, gör att jag nästan ger upp boken och hade det inte varit ett recensionsexemplar måste jag erkänna att jag inte heller hade läst klart den. Ella blir också en helt annan person och de går omkring varandra utan att prata, surar på åt varsitt håll och bara förpestar livet för varandra istället. Inte tycker jag att det bättrar sig nämnvärt under bokens gång heller, vilket hade kunnat vara en förlåtande faktor. Men nej, det känns som att karaktärsutvecklingen står helt stilla i det här läget, även om slutet ger en liten strimma hopp. Kanske är det en kulturkrock, men jag vet inte jag. Hade någon jag delat mitt liv med köpt en hel getgård på landet utanför Paris och låtsats att det var en present till mig som uttryckligen sagt att jag inte ville flytta, hade det inte blivit ett roligt liv. Tror att det hade kunnat känts bättre för mig att läsa om, ifall jag hade fått läsa om det från bådas synvinkel. Nu är det bara Ellas känslor och tankar jag vet om, vilket gör det svårt att inte tänka annat än att Serge faktiskt är lite av en pompös rövhatt, vilket är synd för jag gillade verkligen honom i första boken. Just det här är det som drar ner betyget rejält för mig, tyvärr.
Annars tycker jag om grundidén och tycker om miljöbeskrivningar och relationer mellan andra karaktärer. KG Johansson har gjort ett bra jobb med översättningen. Om man är en sådan människa som gillar ost i mängder, då kan det ändå vara värt att ge den här serien en chans. En lättläst feelgood, och det saknas verkligen inte hinder och/eller problem.

MIT LIEBE GEMACHT
Frankreich, ein Bauernhaus im Loire-Tal, wenige Charaktere und die Liebe zu Käse. In diesem Herzroman dreht sich alles um das Thema Liebe, Vertrauen, Wagnis und Käse- viel Käse.
„Mit liebe gemacht” ist der zweite Teil der Reihe um die Australierin Ella, die ihre Liebe in Paris fand. Auch ohne den ersten Teil, konnte ich mich sehr gut in die Handlung einfinden. Auf den ersten Seiten wird der Inhalt des Vorläufer-Buches kurz und knapp zusammengefasst.
Serge und Ella ziehen aufs Land und stehen vor einer Menge Problemen und vor allem Ziegen. Ihr Leben und ihre Liebe ist chaotisch. Die sehr seichte Handlung behandelt ihre Probleme und Missverständnisse und zwar in einem wahnsinnigen Tempo. Viele Konflikte werden nur kurz angesprochen und in Wohlgefallen aufgelöst. Eine richtige Tiefe hat das Buch nicht. Diese Tiefe habe ich nicht vermisst, da es einfach ein leichter Roman mit unkomplizierten Sachverhalt ist. Die französische Lebensweise ist an einigen Stellen spürbar, zieht sich jedoch nicht stringent durch das Buch. Stattdessen fügen sich kleine französische Wörter in den Sprachfluss ein.
Personen, die seichte Romane mit einer schnellen Handlung und einen nicht beschreibenden Schreibstil mögen, wird “Mit Liebe gemacht” bestimmt ein paar schöne Lesestunden haben. Nur bitte nicht zu viel erwarten!

Každá chvíľka dokonalosti raz skončí. Aj Ella si myslela, že bude naveky žiť v milovanom Paríži s milovaným mužom medzi milovanými syrmi. Až pokiaľ sa do tejto predstavy dokonalej rozprávky nepriplichtili aj iné postavy a zvieratká, ktoré zamiešali karty. Ako sa s tým Ella a Serge popasujú? Zlomí ich to alebo posilní?
Láska na franczúzkom vidieku je pokračovanie krásneho príbehu Za láskou do Paríža, v ktorom sme sa zoznámili z Austrálie utekajúcou Ellou. V tejto knihe sa opäť vrátime do jej života, no z krásneho a rušného Paríža sa musí Ella presťahovať na vidiek. Takéto životné zmeny urobia škrt cez rozpočet, čo sposobí vzájomnú nervozitu, nedôveru a hádky.
Knihu určite odporúčam čítať až po prečítaní prvého príbehu, hoci Ella na prvých stranách veľmi krátko a výstižne zhrnula, čo všetko zažila počas príchodu do Paríža. Mňa táto kniha bavila, hoci prvá sa mi páčila možno o niečo viac. Obe sú písané pútavo a nenútene a sú naozaj vhodné na oddychové čítanie. Nezabudnite, že musíte mať po ruke vždy dobré vínko a kopu syra! Inak to naozaj nezvládnete bez utierania slín.

Första boken i denna serie älskade jag, vilket gjorde att jag direkt den var slut påbörjade nästa. Jag gillar även denna, men jag saknar känslan av wow som jag hade i första boken – det där lilla extra. Det är ofta jag irriterar mig på Ella. Samtidigt tycker jag väldigt mycket om att få följa de olika karaktärersutvecklingarna där alla utvecklas både på egen hand och tillsammans. Jag gillar Brownlees sätt att berätta en historia. Språket låter mig komma nära karaktärerna och läsaren får följa hela Ellas känsloregister, vilket blir än mer ostabilt i och med hennes graviditet.

Druhý díl ze série Láska a sýr, kde se Elly vysněná Paříž promění v kozí farmu. Přišlo mi vhod, že autorka lehce shrnula co všechno se odehrálo v prvním díle.

Trochu mě mrzí, že se tento díl tolik netočí kolem sýra a vína. Ano kolem Sergeova kozího sýra ano, ale ani ten nebyl dost popsaný. Jako je to jasné když Ella otěhotněla, ale mrzelo mě to.

Tímhle dílem se mi Ella dost zprotivila. Přišla mi chvílemi sobecká. Stále lpěla na rekonstrukci domu, ale přitom se dá rekonstruovat i bez velkých peněz, nebo aspoň zútulnit. A hned by měla vyřešený i problém s nudou. Dál mě štvala její neupřímnost a zatajování. A završila to ke konci tím, že sotva porodila hned si dala Sushi, šampaňské a sýry. To se ve Francii nekojí nebo co? Vím, že někteří nad tím mávnete rukou, ale mě tohle vadí.
Za mě druhý díl vycházet nemusel.

I enjoyed this sequel to the first book about Ella, from Australia but living in Paris. This is a light romance, with Serge wanting to move to the Loire Valley with Ella to raise their future child out of Paris. After much uncertainty, particularly since Ella fell in love with the Paris lifestyle, a move to a goat farm is quite the experience. Thanks to Edelweiss for this nice escape from reality to the French countryside.

Kniha ukazuje, aká je komunikácia vo vzťahu dôležitá. Ak si chceš prečítať knižný žáner medzi romantikou a beletriou, hľadáš rýchlu jednohudku, máš rád/a Francúzsko a nevadí ti čítať o komunikačných problémoch vo vzťahu, tak toto bude kniha pre teba. Ja som mala knihu prečítanú asi za 3-4 hodiny, čo veľmi oceňujem.

I read book one first so this isn't out of context, but I'm sad to say that I didn't find this romantic in any way. It reads more like chic lit with dysfunctional characters, an ungrateful heroine who is never happy, a crumbling relationship, and an outcome that is very unlikely. Just not fun to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found I had to push through the first few chapters to keep my interest up but once I continued to read, I found it difficult to put the book down. I never guessed what each girl's story would be until the end. It's a story that is well worth reading.

This one was a bit tough. Main Character does a lot of complaining before thinking things through or even talking about them with her partner. When the plot moved it was better. However there were big chunks where the plot stayed the same but the complaining continued for chapters.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Quercus for this book. I hadn't realised that this was the sequel to her first book but it turned out that didn't matter as this worked well as a stand alone book. I very much enjoyed this light hearted book about Australian Ella and her French boyfriend Serge, and the life they built in the beautiful Loire valley region of France. An enjoyable read.

Victoria Brownlee píše velice čtivě, s lehkostí, její styl je svěží, dojemný a vtipný, text nikde nezadrhává. Celkově jsem se skutečně moc bavila. Knihu jsem nemohla odložit a opět jsem si k ní zakrojila nějaké ty chutné sýry, abych si vytvořila tu správnou atmosféru. Je nutno podotknout, že kniha Láska a sýr v Paříži byla o něco lepší, ale zklamaná jsem rozhodně nebyla.

Ich freue mich auf "Mit Liebe gemacht" schon seitdem ich den ersten Band "Liebe ist ein Bauchgefühl" beendet habe, also knapp 8 Monate bereits, und ich wurde kein bisschen enttäuscht.
Das unglaublich schöne Cover ist wieder ein absoluter Blickfang und passt hervorragend zum ersten Band. Wobei ich nicht ganz verstehe, warum hier der Buchrücken rot ist. Wenn ich "Liebe ist ein Bauchgefühl" mit den drei Worten Paris, Käse, Liebe umschrieben habe, so würde ich "Mit Liebe gemacht" zusammenfassen als: Neuanfang, (mehr) Käse, Bébé.
Es handelt sich hierbei um die Fortsetzung einer zuckersüßen Geschichte rund um eine Frau, die auf der Suche zu sich selbs, plötzlich in Paris die Liebe fand und zusammen wagen sie einen Neustart auf dem Land, denn... Ella erwartet ein bébé.
Der Anfang der Geschichte fängt kurz nach deme Ende des ersten Bands an. Ich war bereits nach nur wenigen Seiten wieder voll im Geschehen drin. Das liegt auch daran, dass mir der Schreibstil von Victoria Brownlee so gut gefällt - er geht förmlich runter wie zerlaufene Butter auf einem warmen Baguette.
Es war so schön mehr von Ella und Serge zu lesen, ich habe mich Seite um Seite mehr in die komplexe Natur ihrer Liebe verliebt, denn diese Story ist recht ungewohnt und bedeutet, das Ella schon wieder gezwugnen ist, die verschiedestene Hürden zu meistert, wie z.B. das französische Landleben oder wie man eine Ziege melkt.
Ich empfehle das Buch mit einem guten Rotwein und einer Auswahl an Käse und Cracker zu genießen. Glaubt mir, ihr werdet es mir später danken.
Fazit: Dank Serge einmal wieder bewiesen "If things go wrong. Well ... we’ll always have Paris. And Cheese."

Ensam och orolig söker Ella tröst hos författaren Chuck. Kan hennes relation med Serge överleva? Romanen är en uppföljare till "Paris. Kärlek. Ost."
Recension: Jag blev glatt överraskad när jag läste Paris. Kärlek. Ost. Den var fräsch och rolig, en riktigt imponerande debut. Därför kändes det självklart att plocka upp den här uppföljaren. Historien tar vid där den förra boken slutade, med Ella och Serge som nu är ett par. Ella älskar fortfarande både ost och Frankrike, men den här gången tillkommer en ny ingrediens i deras liv – en bebis. Detta blir en vändpunkt för båda, särskilt eftersom Serge vill flytta ut på landet och slå sig ner där. En sak jag verkligen uppskattade var miljöbeskrivningen av den franska landsbygden. Det var en härlig förändring från det vanliga Parisfokuset i böcker som utspelar sig i Frankrike. Författaren lyckas verkligen fånga det idylliska och vackra med landskapet, och jag fann mig själv drömma mig bort till de pittoreska byarna och öppna fälten. Just beskrivningen av den lantliga miljön var något som verkligen lyfte boken för mig. Trots det hade jag svårt att känna samma starka band till karaktärerna som i den första boken. Ella och Serge hamnar i nya situationer som utmanar deras förhållande, men tyvärr kändes deras karaktärsutveckling något platt. Det fanns flera missförstånd och problem som kändes onödiga eller överdrivna, vilket gjorde att jag inte fastnade för dem lika mycket som jag hade hoppats. Slutet kändes dessutom lite forcerat, där flera konflikter löstes alldeles för snabbt och enkelt. Delen kring födseln och de första dagarna med bebisen kändes inte heller helt trovärdig, även om jag förstår att det är en fiktiv berättelse. Trots dessa invändningar uppskattade jag epilogen och undrar om det kommer en tredje bok, som jag absolut skulle läsa. Sammanfattningsvis var det en trevlig bok att läsa, även om den inte nådde samma nivå som den första. Det som räddade berättelsen för mig var de vackra miljöbeskrivningarna, som verkligen gjorde boken levande. Därför ger jag den 3/5, mycket tack vare just det.

This is the second book in the series and my word it's amazingly brilliant I couldn't put it down and read it in two days as so excellent. The characters are great and the setting is brilliant you believe you are there. Still plenty about cheese and very romantic but shows how relationships can be hard as well and you have to work at it. It's heartwarming and a great read. Shows how they change their lives to be a family.
Ella moved to Paris to get away suddenly in the last book she fell in love with Serge a cheese monger but she's been with him for six months now and finds out she is expecting to start with is she sure this is what she wants but Serge is so happy when he finds out but doesn't want to bring a family up in Paris do he takes Ella to a country house in France and says he's brought it for them. She doesn't want to leave Paris and the house is so run down but they agree to try it for a while to see how she likes it. It's a farm as well and Serge struggles to get the farm off the ground and also Ella gets very friendly with another English speaking person called chuck. She wants to set up a cafe with a cheese shop for serge to sell his cheese in one of the barns but can she be excepted by other villagers so will it be a success and how will her pregnant go. Chuck lends Ella the money to open up her shop but she doesn't tell serge and he thinks her parents have lent it they have an argument after the opening of the shop and serge says she's spending to much time with chuck and things get heated so she goes back to Paris but while there she realises she misses serge but when she goes in labour and has their baby will they be able to make it up and be happy living in the country or have they got past that stage.
Fantastic read worth far more than two stars.

Serge owns and runs a deli and Ella works for a food app. Suddenly they are taken by surprise when Ella gets a positive pregnancy test. Ella wants to bring their baby up in Paris while Serge wants them to move to the country. Where will they decide to bring up their baby ?
The typical french farmhouse on the cover drew me to this book.
Some research into this author has told me that this is her second book in the series. However you would not know this when reading it and this book makes a great stand alone book, Something I think this author has got down to a fine art.
This book is an easy summer read. I read it easily within 24hours. Loving the French vibe and how all the characters gracefully interact with each other.
This book does exactly what it says on the tin. A lovely light read whisking you away to France with its delicious French cheese.
However I do feel like the book moves forward too fast. In one chapter you are in the now and then you move forward by months. This makes it sometimes feel a bit disjointed between the chapters and make you feel you are missing small details.

‘Escape to the French Farmhouse’ is a really quick, easy read to breeze through and it’s perfect for the summer. It follows the story of Ella and Serge as they go through their ups and downs after an unplanned pregnancy and a move from Paris to the French countryside. I found the first couple of chapters a little slow but quickly became really invested in the characters and wanted to see what would happen. There’s lots of cheese talk if you’re a cheese fan and a good dose of drama to keep the story rolling.
I ended up really liking Ella as a character. She seemed a little weak in the beginning but her character developed well throughout the book and she became strong and really lovable. I loved the setting of France and the descriptions of Paris and the farmhouse, it really set the scene and made me feel like I was there.
What I liked most about this book is the fact that it seemed very real. The story is closer to what would actually happen in real life rather than some easy, no drama fairytale where everything is great all of the time. There’s definitely a lot of hard decisions that the characters face and it was really good in that aspect.
I would definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a summer read or a cute romance/drama filled chick lit book!

I enjoyed the end of this book. Getting to the end was a slow experience in which I found the main character just a bit whiny and the relationship between Ella and Serge just too disconnected and odd. The last few chapters seemed to speed up which was much more enjoyable. The epilogue rounds things up nicely.

Loved this book! Take me to France please and save me from this cold winter. The beauty of Brownlee’s storytelling is that it is like taking a holiday. With good food and wine.
