The small, quaint and affluent town of Lake Ridge, Michigan, is in the news, but for all the wrong reasons. The entire school and town watched as 17-year-old Drew McMichaels, the town's “Star Everything,” dropped dead in front of them. Now the town is mourning. His classmates are mourning. His best friends, though, are struggling. They’re struggling because they know that Drew was not the perfect guy the town and the national media are painting him to be. But how do you stomp on the grave of a dead teenager? How do you destroy his grieving parents with details of their beloved son’s misdeeds? As Drew’s many secrets continue to surface, his friends grapple with life-changing decisions while trying to end their senior year with some semblance of happiness.
I had predicted some of the storyline early on but wanted to see how things played out. Definitely some heavy topics in this book and may be triggering to some.
