Can a good girl witch princess and a bad boy bodyguard fight their way from enemies to lovers and stop a killer?
Good girl Prys Bane is the ultimate witch princess—titled, rich, beautiful, and from the best royal bloodlines. But the STEM genius would rather hide with her statistics and crush on a forbidden bodyguard than marry a proper prince. Better to guarantee that no one discovers her true magic—powers more suited to a storybook villain than any princess.
Bad boy John Donovan has pretended to be a bodyguard while hiding his supernatural double agent status from everyone—even his own sisters who see him as the villain. Crushing on Prys seemed safe until he learns she’s not only the witch magistrate investigating a murder where his sister is the chief suspect, but Prys is also the matchmaker hired to force him into an arranged marriage.
When John and Prys are pulled into a deadly mystery that comes closer and closer to the couple by the hour, they must work together. When Prys discovers John’s kink, these enemies quickly become lovers whose passions ignite. Can this princess and her antihero find happily ever after or will the killer be a best friend whose betrayal neither can survive?
Luna Joya writes steamy romances that are "wickedly delightful" (Publishers Weekly).
The "delightfully devious" Luna writes "action-packed paranormal romantic thrillers, singing with magical power and humming with sensuality that will leave readers breathless." (InD'Tale Magazine). A survivor of traumatic brain injury with steel body parts, Luna lives in SoCal with her combat veteran husband and their two-pound terror of a rescue pup.
While this book is technically part of the new series and can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the rest of the Legacy series before reading this. It references a lot of interpersonal connections and previous events that would be helpful to be familiar with to get the most enjoyment of this story. Even knowing this, I still have not read those other books, so I can say that this reads beautifully even without all that additional knowledge I wish I’d taken the time to absorb. Prys and John are balanced on the knife’s edge of being polar opposites while also being too much alike. It makes for insane chemistry between them but it’s not always the good kind of sparks they’re giving off. I loved watching these two brave the risks of coming out from behind all their protective walls for one another at the same time they’re walking a political tightrope and also investigating a murder. It’s a lot for two people to accomplish, but they’re up for the challenge. Seeing them fall in love in the midst of all that turmoil made my happy heart sigh. I may have only just finished this book, but already I can’t wait to see what the author has for us next. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Prys is a legacy and is due to inherit her mother’s seat on the senate. She has been asked to act as matchmaker to the Donovan’s hidden son. Unfortunately on the way to film set she comes across a murder and has to use her other skillset and ends up being the one to lead the investigation. She is given a bodyguard, the man who she has had a secret crush on for two years and finds that John is also the man she is meant to matchmake. Prys and John have to navigate a dangerous world and discover what each mean to each other. This is a very good book, with great dialogue, great world building and it is one of those books that you stay up all night reading, even though you know you shouldn’t!
I was given this book in return for an honest review.
I always love Luna Joya's book and Wicked Match was no exception. Her world building is wonderful and all her books are such easy reads. While Prys seemed a bit of a stick in the mud sometimes throughout the story you find out why later. But John. Oh my John. He was such a wonderful character. He was funny, witty, tough, and sexy. All the things I love in a man. Being a powerless male witch in a family full of ultra powerful witches is tough but man does he find a way to dominate his world!
Luna does great a job of weaving realism and magic. Loved every word. One of my favorites. If you enjoy fast paced stories filled with passion, excitement, and amazing characters this is the book for you.
The story looked like it would be a fun read and in many ways it was, and in sooo many ways it seemed to drag on forever.
Prysilla/Prys was the Senate’s witch judicial officer plus a legacy, both titles holding her to a higher regard than others. Prys was all numbers and facts but with a hidden cauldron of emotions under her prim exterior.
John acted like he was a simple guard but he was so much more. Like Prys he had his share of secrets one of them was how much he really enjoyed pushing Prys buttons.
In the beginning the push and pull had a nice edge, after a while as they both kept bringing up the same issues of trust, and if Prys was just a machine that spouted facts it lost its glow and I just wanted the story to progress.
I have to admit I put the book down and read six books in between as I had lost interest. Once I came back in things picked up and we were heading to a nice bit of spice and then the inevitable un-necessary angst came into to play and the story then seemed to take a nose dive into a bunch of bad guy theatrics.
While it did have its moments, I found that the initial momentum of the story seemed to have lost that crispness about it and it became a bit of hodge podge mess for me.
I think it tried to touch on too many areas and didn’t flesh things out like some parts needed. The bedroom activities started taking over the story and a lot of other things got pushed to the wayside to accommodate that.
It wasn’t a bad read just needed to get some more meat and maybe not have as many moving parts to give enough attention to areas that really needed it.
I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.
Prys Bane is a witch Princess; with her Royal Bloodline she has privilege, money and powers to emotionally manipulate and predict outcomes. Prys focuses on using her power for good, working as a witch magistrate and matchmaker. Prys has been contracted to find a Legacy match for the male Donovan heir, but when she arrives in Los Angeles, Prys finds a murdered witch Senator. Now, with a murdered Senator, Prys finds out that the Legacy heir she must find a match for is the hunky Guard she kissed the night before, John Donovan. As Prys investigates further, she receives threats of her own, driving her further into John's arms.
Wicked Match is the second book in the Wicked series. While it can be read as a stand alone, the previous book offers some insight into how the supernatural world interacts with humans. Wicked Match offers a slow burn paranormal romance that turns hot and spicy. The romance combined with a murder mystery and magic created a fast-paced exciting read. Prys and John are wonderful characters. Prys was painted as an Ice Queen by the supernatural media, but is deeply connected to emotions and never wants to hurt anyone. She is a perfect match for John with his rough exterior and dominant needs. The murder mystery is compelling along with the constant threats on Prys' life keeping the suspense and danger high. I had the villain figured out pretty early on, but the motivations behind their treachery were interesting to see unravel.
This book was received for free in return for an honest review.
In a reality that includes magic and demons in the modern human world, Prys Bane is witch royalty who works on the side as a matchmaker. She is hired to do a reality tv show in the human world, matchmaking for celebrities. Upon arriving in LA, the site of a recent mass attack from a human order trying to destroy magical creatures, there is a murder of a high-ranking witch politician. With her talents for science and statistics (utilized in her matchmaking) Prys is asked to investigate the murder while she's in town. She becomes the target of the murderer and has to solve the mystery before all the witch royalty are taken out. In need of a bodyguard, John takes the job protecting Prys. John and Prys have been flirting for years but Prys didn't even know his name, turns out John is secretly also witch royalty and set to be matched by Prys. Together they have to film a reality tv show, find John a match, and catch a killer before both of them become victims too.
This book was a fun and slightly spicy read with some light dom/sub themes. There were some interesting side themes of sexism in a matriarchal magical society. There were a few typos but overall was a good story with interesting world-building. Some of the explanations were repetitive and shallow but I would read another book in the series.
An intense storyline which grabs your attention from the beginning and never lets go. I’ve read one other book by Luna Joya, Heart and Seek book 4 of the Legacy series.
I really enjoyed this book, but the author mentions a large number of characters that are a bit overwhelming. The book can be read as a standalone; however, you may need to read some sections more than once to figure out who is who and what’s going on. There is a lot of detail the author put into her world building and it ties into the storyline.
The storyline is full of action and intrigue, and a slow burn attraction between Prys Bane and John Donovan. This book is super addictive. I’m interested in reading more books in the previous series to catch up on all the action that lead to the circumstances present in this book.

I really enjoyed Wicked Match by Luna Joya. I haven't read the first book in the series but I didn't have any problem following the story or the characters. Prys and John are the main characters and together they are a great match. I liked reading along as they got to know each other better and grew closer. John was against being matched at first, but it's not long until he starts hoping that Prys will be his match.
The plot is entertaining and moves along at a steady pace. There is magic, romance, betrayal, danger and a bit of BDSM. It hints at past and future stories that leave me wanting to read more. I look forward to the next book in this series.
I would recommend Wicked Match to fans of Paranormal Romance.

So this was the second book in a series and a somewhat continuing story from another series altogether. I had no problem keeping up with the story because there are small recaps and background information. However, I will definitely be checking out the other series because this book was so good! There was romance and thrills. John and Prys have a ton of chemistry and I love their relationship. They have such a deep connection and understanding about what the other wants or needs. There was edge of my seat action and thrills, however, I easily picked out who the villain was early on. It seemed some of the other characters were on to them too but didn’t really care. I really enjoyed the plot and writing of this book and can’t wait to check out more by this author! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
This was a great story into the witch side of the series. Lady Prys is sent to LA to use her Matchmaking skills but becomes entangled into a murder of a Witch Senator. And to top it off, the guy she's been crushing over for 2 years who she thought was just a guard ends up being the long hidden grandson of the most powerful Senator and one of the ones she supposed to find a match for. They start working together to solve the murder but whoever it is seems to know their every move... they grow closer as time passes, but will she be able to give him up to his match when the time comes??
Especially one written by the fabulous Luna Joya. She brings all the steam and that slow burn will leave you wanting more. Long after you’ve finished. In Wicked Match, we learn more about John. Secrets will be revealed. Everything is not as it seems. I devoured this book! That twist! That ending! It had my heart racing and me shouting at my kindle. I’m not dramatic at all.
This was another highly enjoyable read. It has action, suspense, steam, and a twist you didn’t see coming. If you’re a fan of paranormal romance with steam, this book is for you! Skip adding it to your TBR and just dive right in. I give this 5 stars.
I loved the first book so much and wondered if the second book would be just as good? Well it was that and more! This author knows well how to draw her readers in and keep them there. From the first page until the very last one, you are drawn into this story. Lust, intrigue, murder, mystery, action and yes even love makes this very well written book so darn good! Prys and John are the main characters, but I really enjoyed reading about all the characters in the book. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series!
Prys is often referred to as the ice princess, even with her successful matchmaker business. John wants nothing to do with matches, but he’s been attracted to Prys for years. These two are so much more than supernatural celebrity and bodyguard. I loved how Prys had so many facets to her job and her personality (although her to do list stressed me out a bit). And wow, her chemistry with John was steamy hot. A exciting and engrossing read.
Wicked intense! This was non-stop action, suspense, and intrigue from the start! It was great! What started as a publicity tour to LA for Prys's matchmaking skills - in the form of a reality show - turned into a murder investigation, death threats, and an eventual match. Wow, what a ride!
I love this world she's created. I'm definitely going to check out more of her previous and future books!

This story drew me right in with the enemies to lovers as well as the antihero. I think that Prys and John were well matched! While this is a standalone, I think that it is better with having read book one first. I Loved It!!! No Spiolers!.

Prys and John are brought together when she stumbles on a murder. Sparks fly and their lives get complicated as their passionate fling soon becomes more. Will they have what it takes to make their relationship work?
The second book in the Wicked series. Lady Prys Bane and John Donovan's story is well written with a very good storyline. There is drama, suspense, danger, villains and romance. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
