Everdell leaps to life! With gorgeous illustrations from Andrew Bosley and never-before-seen lore written by James A. Wilson himself, there's so much more Everdell to see inside these pages. Learn of the humble critters who make their homes beneath the boughs of the Ever Tree, or those undaunted creatures who seek adventure into the great unknown. Many remarkable stories are contained within this tome, so pull up a chair, settle in beside the fire, and immerse yourself in the Tales from the Green Acorn hardcover book!
Tales from the Green Acorn is 50% lore/art, 25% creation story, and 25% 'making of' art. I personally read it because I wanted to experience lore from a very good board game that seems like it should have lore, and it certainly does that, which is uncommon in a euro boardgaming scenario. In essence, it writes a short lore backstory regarding just about every card in the game. I found myself enjoying it, but wishing it was also more. That's not to say I didn't like the book - I enjoyed reading through it - but it strangely felt as if this was an introduction to a book series, yet there are no books to follow it up with, and the board game doesn't provide anything in that regard. I feel like I was given an intro to a multitude of excellent character's lives and now I'm left wanting more of those lives. It's a strange feeling.
Absolutely wonderful companion to Everdell board games. This book showcases all the art, lore and history of the game, both the characters and the actual creation of the game itself by James Wilson. If you love Everdell as I do, you'll love this book!
