A Slayer, a Monster and a Guardian, sitting in a bar... No jokes... growing up, I’d heard the tales of a woman chosen to kill Monsters, but I never thought it would be me.
My thirtieth birthday was supposed to be a turning point in my life, it wasn’t supposed to turn it upside down.
Learning that the Monsters that lurk in the dark are real, and it’s my sworn duty to hunt and slay them, isn’t exactly how I wanted to celebrate this milestone birthday.
Now, instead of heading out for drinks with my friends, I’m being taught how to fight for my life by the Guardian I’m inextricably drawn to but no one told me it’s on-the-job training. And no one told me the Monsters I’m meant to be fighting are so hot. Three in particular who seem connected to me on various levels.
With the help of an unexpected, yet sexy new ally and an ancient weapon with a mind of its own, I set out to rid the world of this evil, but soon discover that not all is as it seems.

Audiobook. Sophie Hunter Scott narrates this book perfectly.
Monster Slayer is the work of erotic reads but I enjoyed the plot too. It’s steamy, funny and creative.
Cami is our unknown slayer. She has a crappy job with a crappy boss. On her birthday she’s looking to let her hair down and have some fun. Mr Librarian (not his real name) has other ideas. The slayer is unleashed and monsters are ready to thrill.
This does end on a cliffhanger however the next part is out in paper form. I think it’s a duet. Adult content. RH.
4.4 stars. Oof. The timeline and relationships and all the connections are wibbly-fucking-wobbly in this book. It’s a lot. Like that fucking ending. What the actual hell? I mean, I’m loving it. It’s a total smut fest. And there’s basically zero build up or pining to it all, they just fuck freely. Which I am so down for. The plot is a little convoluted at the moment, but Im hoping that straightens out now that we’ve gotten a few things cleared up by the last couple chapters of this book.
Im looking forward to more of this. I mean, the smut alone is keeping me going, but there’s also smartass humor and banter and all the mysteries to unravel.
I like it. Im glad I picked it up. Bring on the wibbly wobbly shit, bitches. I’m in.
By the end of this book I was a huge fan. Sure it may be overloaded with sex but that too is pretty much explained as in the heroines blood. ;) Not to mention if you had four delicious men ready and willing to please you I highly doubt you would hesitate. The heroine was one of my favorite parts of the book. Camilla's completely outspoken, outlandish and just a whole ton of fun. She pretty much goes with the flow and takes to change rather well considering she thought she was just an average everyday human and learns monsters are real. The end had a few twists and turns which took me by surprise but also have me ready for what's to come.
Book: Monster Slayer Read By: Ebook Author: Eve Newton Genre:Reverse Harem, Fantasy Recommend: Yes < b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
The events and connections in this book were like a wild rollercoaster ride, careening through twists and turns without any warning. It was a lot to take in, especially the shocking ending that left me reeling. But despite the chaos, I couldn't deny that I was thoroughly enjoying the story; it was a total smut fest. The sexual tension between the characters was palpable and there was no holding back as they freely engaged in steamy activities. And let's be honest, who doesn't enjoy a good dose of eroticism? However, amidst all the passion and heat, the plot seemed a bit messy and scattered. But now that some key revelations have been unveiled in the last few chapters, I'm hopeful that everything will fall into place. With each turn of the page, I eagerly anticipated what would happen next in this gripping tale. In addition to the steamy scenes, there was also plenty of witty banter and humor sprinkled throughout, along with intriguing mysteries waiting to be unraveled. By the end of the book, I had become a huge fan, completely enamored by the story and its characters. While it may seem like there's an overload of sex at times, it's understandable given the heroine's unique bloodline and her irresistible appeal to four gorgeous men. Let's face it, who wouldn't jump at the chance to be pleasured by such tempting creatures? And speaking of our heroine, Camilla was one of my favorite parts of the book. She was bold, outspoken, and full of life - adapting surprisingly well to her newfound identity as a half human among real-life monsters. The unexpected twists in the ending left me on edge and eagerly anticipating what comes next for Camilla and her enthralling journey.

When it comes to monster harems, this is right up there in the top ten of books you need to read. This story was so good I had to pause half way through and wait till book two came out to finish because I couldn’t take the wait. And glad I did because that cliffhanger is a mind trip. I want, no, I need more so it is off to the ebook store I go to download book two.
This was such a fun monster romance! I really love that she is so sassy and demanding. That ending though! Rude 😂 now I will have to immediately go into book 2!
Camilla is a young woman who works a job that she dreads in order to be allowed the freedom to do what she really wants, work on her novel…or should I say that was her plans moving forward…but then a few things happened to her that slammed the door on that dream and headed her in a totally new direction and she’s struggling to keep up with all the changes and new chaos that has entered her life.
From sexy Vamps to even sexier nerds it seems like everyone is determined that Camilla’s rather boring life is ready for a massive shake up!
If you enjoy snarky, strong FMC who has a can do attitude…then this is definitely the book for you, run and download this book now! You’ll thank me later.
More like 2.5 stars. This is really shallow; it lacks any sort of emotional depth or any sort of details or description past the bare minimum. There’s no time spent on hearing characters internal dialogue, they just do things and we don’t learn what their thought process is. There’s no place setting that really happens. The FMC is so sex crazed that it feels so immature. She’s 30 but can’t even have a normal conversation with anyone without jumping their bones immediately.
Also, the FMC forces herself on one of the guys even though he said no but eventually says yes. That’s uncomfortable….
I like the idea, even if it’s a little tired. Girl finds out she’s the “chosen one” and a guy is here to tell her about it. Shocking. But I like the subversion that happens in the story.
Another fantastic book from Eve! If you ever loved Buffy, then you'll adore this. It's totally action packed, with proper monsters, one of whom gives a whole new meaning to dp! It's also laugh out loud funny and being a brit, I loved that it was written in British english, some of the colloquialisms may have you laughing. The characters are brilliant, Cami is struggling to deal with her past, her new future and lots of men. Well actually she's not struggling with that and these bits are spicy af, especially dream tentacles!!! Just read it you won't be disappointed! Oh and Honoria is a complete b****!
I couldn’t force myself to read anymore. I’m too embarrassed by the FMC. She is so desperate, I’m cringing so hard trying to read this.
FMC is literally begging for some guys cock even as he refuses her. Even as he tells her no, she grabs him and takes his cock out anyways. She threatens to take what she wants regardless of what he says. He says no, and he says no, and he says no….. and she takes and she begs and she cries for his cock.
…After meeting him only hours ago…
Nope, no, none, nope nope.
The whole situation was too close to assault for my comfort.
Didn't put this book down. From the first page I was entranced and invested in Cami and her story. There were more twists than a mountain road and there are a few plot twists that slapped me across the head so fast I had whiplash, I really didn't see them coming! The characters are amazing, if you loved Buffy but want her grown up and her relationships to be mature, then you'll love this. From Anderson and Silas to Balatron and Kalabrax, I loved every one....but the one that stole my heart? Puggles! Keep your eyes peeled for some familiar characters! Book one was amazing....bring on book two!
Eve gives us a wonderful beginning to a new series! The story of Camilla and her men/monsters is fast paced and has all the feels you have come to expect from this author. Deliciously dark, this rollercoaster ride of a story keeps you guessing and turning pages throughout. Beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists, this is sure to become a favourite! I loved reading this story and highly recommend it. Don't miss out on this book!!
DNF This is cringy. I made it 31% but I can’t keep going. No is a full sentence and the fact that the fmc begged a man and forced herself on him even after he told her no made me extremely uncomfortable. That’s the main reason I will not be continuing on with this one. She’s supposed to be a 30 year old woman but she’s acting like a teenager. The male character POVs don’t seem to add anything to the story either. It’s very juvenile writing as well. Not impressed at all.
Lol, the whole story reads like a xxx rated fanfic from tth ( twisting the hellmouth ). Enjoyed the story, but couldn't get over the similarities. Character names were changes to protect the innocent and not so innocent. Mercedes McNab as sedecrem and spike as Silas and Anderson as Wesley. She even gets the h and h's. Loved Balaton though!
It could be a good story but I'm not making it past 5%. Mainly due to the fact that we clearly are getting introduced to a male character but we get no description of his "hotness" but it was said a few times so the author fell short for me because it sets a president of not being descriptive. The author can be descriptive about the other bartender but not the guy? Idk it just failed for me.
I mean you can identify some parallels with popular culture. It was a fun read. Not literary genius but entertaining enough to make me want to read the next one.
It was an ok read. Didn’t really click with the main character and with this ending I’m not sure I want to continue. I don’t care for the direction it’s going.
