This collection of short stories by Otsuichi is an ok way to kill the time if you have nothing else to do, but it doesn't offer any particularly memorable moment.
All the stories go around a little town and some of its characters, with some of them that appear in other stories to interconnect all the short stories. It is entertaining enough, but nothing special. The best of the bunch is the last one, which offers a nice fantasy story about parallel worlds.
In the afterword Otsuichi comments the stories are his 'remakes' from stories he got from fans. And maybe this is what it shows all through the book: that it is an interesting enough filler, but nothing particularly memorable. Not to comment on the works from the fans (that I can't read), but on Otsuichi's decision. If you need something to read, it will cover your needs, but there is so much better out there.
The best: the last story; some fantasy/mystery elements
The worst: it feels unnecessary
Other options: I don't know why, but Riku Onda comes to mind; Miyabe Miyuki too.
