As Nicholas Winterhome builds his own city in the wilderness, he strives to make sense of a world full of foreign powers. His strength in battle might not be enough.
It'll take wits and determination to survive; and if he wants to sleep at night, he'll need someone he can trust to watch his back. It's time to find some allies.
Fairly good progression, but the fight scenes became a bit too boring for my taste and the ending has spoiled it for me. Specifically, . I don't plan to continue with the series despite the good start of book 1.
This book has almost constant fighting scenes where the MC seems to be to full of himself or is hindered to succeed somehow which is somewhat annoying. There is much less exploration.
The new town and its new residents seem rather bland. I was no fan of the contest fights and the fight scene in the village and the protagonist´s decision that lead to the multitude of deaths.
I'm already reading book three on Royalroad. My only problem with this one is the movable base. Eventually you will run out of room for the town to expand or the giant beast that you turned into your base dies. There are other flaws as well. I don't think that it was well thought out and is more about the cool factor.
This story of a demon human who gives up his body for a monster body to invade Earth as the System takes over was a fantastic read. More cultivation than regular System. Can’t wait for the next book.
Love the story, the characters, the depth and all the cultivation craziness. Creatures, weapons, techniques, it’s awesome. Sadly, there’s more chapters on Royal Road but no new ones have been written in years, so I think the story has ended.
