Rate this book
On the run, with no one to trust.
When young Solomon witnesses a brutal murder, the boy runs for his life. A satchel full of cash gives him the means to exist but also makes him a target. His mama always said a ruthless man with a jagged ear planned to do them harm. Unaware of the satchel’s true value, Sol is alone and desperate to survive.
While a small band of robotics employees develop game-changing products, their design schematics show up for sale on the dark web. Suspecting it’s an inside job, the high-tech startup must apprehend the traitor before the loss cripples the company. Baxter Cruise hires half siblings, Maggie and Travis Fender, to investigate the devastating breach and expose the industrial spy. While Maggie works inside and undercover to identify the thief, Travis taps his talent and allies to scour the dark web for evidence.
Doggedly, the man with a jagged earlobe hunts for Solomon’s mother to bring her to justice. Now his trail leads to the dangerous shores of the Pacific Ocean, where everyone harbors a dark secret.

FROM

. . .both the technological and emotional aspect of the characters was incredible.
. . .the whole story equally complex and compelling. Well done.
Hanson's talented writing makes the characters easy to know and puts the reader in the action

RECOMMENDED READING

All my stories intersect, so your favorite characters in one novel may reappear in a completely different series. Mine is a single story world, where storylines and people cross into other lives. Consequently, my books could be read either by series or by the order in which they were written, so I’ve included both

The Masters CIA Thriller Series
3 LIES
THE MASTERS’ KEY
DEAD STORM

The Cruise FBI Thriller Series
OCEAN OF FEAR
SPIDER GAMES
ECHOES FROM DEATH

The Fender Hacker Thriller Series
DARK POOL
ZERO TRUST

Bestselling author Helen Hanson writes thrillers about desperate people with a high-tech bent. Hackers. The CIA. Industry titans. Guys on sailboats. Mobsters. Their personal maelstroms pit them against unrelenting forces willing to kill. Throughout the journey, they try to find some truth, a little humor, and their humanity — from either end of the trigger.

While Helen writes about the power hungry, she genuinely mistrusts anyone who wants to rule the world.

Helen directed operations for high-tech manufacturers of semiconductors, video games, software, and computers. Her reluctant education behind the redwood curtain culminated in a B.S. in Business Administration with concentrated studies in Computer Science. She also learned to play a mean game of hacky sack.

She is a licensed private pilot with a ticket for single-engine aircraft. Helen and her husband spent their first anniversary with their flight instructor studying for the FAA practical. If you were a passenger on a 737 trying to land at SJC in 1995, she sends her most sincere apologies. Really.

Born in fly-over country, Helen has lived on both coasts, near both borders, and at several locations in between. She lettered in tennis, worked as a machinist, and saw the Clash at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium sometime in the eighties. She currently lives amid the bricks of Texas with her husband, son, and a dog that composes music with squeaky toys.

Review of Zero Trust by Helen Hanson

In this story:

Two men are chasing a mother and a child, each for different reasons.

A man is about to deliver money, surreptitiously, to someone he has not met. He suddenly becomes quite ill and in his haste to get help for himself, drops the satchel containing the money.

A young woman and her brother have joined forces to solve cyber crimes.

How in the world can all those people fit in one story? Helen Hanson presents each of them in their roles so well that there can be no doubt that each of them is exactly where s/he needs to be.

To say that is a many faceted story is stating the obvious. There is mystery,

danger, lust, love and resolution (with a caveat or two), everything that makes a good read. To make it even more pleasurable, Hanson's talented writing makes the characters easy to know and puts the reader in the action, wherever it takes place.

If you like a really good mystery that keeps you guessing to the very end, this is a book for you. I highly recommend it.

At the very beginning I was curious how all the characters were going to tie together.  It didn't take long to get sucked into the crazy adventure that is Sol's life.  His mama taught him well to be leary of strangers but maybe too well.  There are lots of sub plots involving cyber threats, if crimes and really bad guys.  Great character development and a great story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I will now go back to read book one that I missed.  I received a few copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I enjoy this Author. This book kept you guessing. For poor Sol things just kept unraveling. Marcus kept hitting dead ends will he finally catch up with Toya? Who is stealing the r-bots secrets? Hopefully Travis and Maggie can help Baxter find the traitor. A really good read. I’m going to go read the first book of this series that I missed.
Received book from publisher I voluntarily wore this review.

What an interesting approach this "multi-POV" - being in the head of the main characters really takes you to the center of the action, makes you see all the danger and anticipate the twist just as it's about to happen through the eyes of the opposite sides involved.

It's non-stop action, gripping suspense, taking sides and a complex plot, all of it converging towards a satisfying end.

An excellent read.

Lots of none stop action, twists and turns in this book. A young boy finds a satchel of money, and suddenly everyone is after him. He manages to evade and survive against impossible odds. Excellent mystery that kept me guessing right until the end of the book.

This story was a great read with plenty of action and shoddy characters. I enjoyed it immensely. Many characters in this story including a child, several no-good people out for the almighty dollar and willing to do anything to steal private information on the dark web. I'm not a good reviewer as words don't come easily to me but I recommend this book for all mystery readers.

An exciting mystery that kept me guessing and turning the pages. Lots of characters which kept me on my toes. Who is chasing whom and why? Quite a bit of computer information that I tended to skim over. I'm sure my spouse would have been thoroughly entranced by it.

What a masterful blending of the threads of this book. Each thread a mini-story weaving together to create the full story. Great characters, who start out interesting and evolve more as the story progresses. This is not a book you will want to put down. Helen delivers, again.
