Slow

It has often felt like the author is struggling to find adventures for Bob, which made the recent 'other perspective' books a clever solution. Sadly, those characters started to sound a heck of a lot like Bob.
This volume returns to Bob, and the first half is slow - with nothing to show for it. I almost stopped reading entirely at the halfway point. Things pick up about 55% in, and finish well, but that early slowness is painful and drags out interminably.

This is the first volume that I wouldn't recommend, and it is still better than 90% of what Amazon tries to sell me.

Another home run for Admiral Boyd!

I loved this book, as I have the ones that preceded it. Excellent stories, well developed and likeable characters, and fascinating insights.

One word of caution... It's not necessary to describe every thought and facial expression on every face on every day!
There are times when that IS appropriate, but when describing day after day the same things that happen again and again... You run the risk of becoming repetitious and boring. You aren't quite there yet, Jerry, but you are leaning in that direction. Don't over explain, people are smart enough to read between the lines , even to fill in bits on their own.

But all in all a fantastic read, one I am proud to have in my collection.
I eagerly await the next installment!

Another great book in the Bob's Saucer Repair series. This time investigating a new planet bears some surprises and new problems to solve. I really enjoy these books the stories are very action packed and fun. One thing I noticed, and this might just be me. I am working on my own novel at the moment and one of my areas of weakness is writing strong dialogue. This is the first of these books I've read while working on improving the first draft of my own novel, and what I realized is, most of these stories are carried forth in the dialogue. Boyd really does this masterfully, and he makes the reader feel like he or she is part of the conversation. These books are fun. Start at the first one and join in the journey.

I am continuing to enjoy this series. I love some of the characters, like many more of them, and am enjoying the ride of adventures.

Some of the day-to-day dialog and events is getting repetitive/stale, and that disappoints me. The dialog rife with pop culture references keeps me thinking and remembering!

Overall, I am very much enjoying this series, enough to have re-read almost all of the books. Some people re-watch TV shows, I revisit friends I find in print.

I wholeheartedly endorse this series as a relaxing and enjoyable ride.

This book can best be described as Bob worries a lot, as this is a major theme of the book, with our major character pondering a lot on the various problems at hand, and if he's missing some critical aspect that might harm his crew, and the people he's trying to help. As such, there is less of the humour seen in the prior books, but I did not find this an issue. I liked the way the elements of the problem were gradually revealed and the whole story built up to its conclusion. Add to this a few surprises along the way and I found it a top read.

As always with this series, I would advise any new readers to start at the beginning. It's well worth it.

Git - Mo at Slow - Mo

This book temporarily closes the story of the boat people (Books 27 & 28). Bob finds a surprise on his ship, Snitz has financial obligations, and it turns out that the Squirrels and the true Squirrels are not that much different.
Jerry has done another fine job of story telling. He has foreshadowed his next book, but he is the conductor and we are only along for the ride.

29 great books

Finished reading the 29 book sears by Jerry Boyd . I enjoyed the complete series but to me it was like reading a book with 29 chapters. Each book was good by itself but did make complete story when read as chapters rather than books . The writing skill of this author is to be admired. He tied his story to earth’s history and events. I recommend this author and his books. They are enjoyable from start to end.

Great, warm, and wonderful ending on this one!

I know I've said that all of the books in this series are really great, and they are. This one was no exception to that 'general rule' statement. The ending was one that really brought out the emotions, though. It could be described as having a "happy ending", but that would infer it was the ending of the series, which it was not. Just this book ended on a very happy note.

Wow! Another Great book !

Another Great book in the Bob and Nikki series! Good to see the zon is still messing with your book count before you put out a new book. It's like a fun little treasure hunt! Did not see the Jeff thing coming but glad to see Snitz and Molly were able to save the day!

It's a crowd

It's really annoying when an old enemy keep on popping up uninvited bringing nasty surprises for Bob and the gang. I really want to suggest strongly to the Author that BSR should make a kind of Walnut Rain Party in order to drop the walnut price to the floor, destroying the Walnut Cartel in the process.

Another readable story

These always go into the reading list as soon as they come out. I would like to work for this bunch. Good story for just about anyone. As a story, I would like less tea drinking and more action. I don't mind writing the reviews, but I do not like "the rules" that Amazon forces on the reviewer.

Questions and Answers

Another entertaining installment for the Bob & Nikki saga. Our crew finds new questions on a recently discovered planet and while searching for answers to that set of questions, also manages to resolve several other issues brought to light during their stay. Ends with the primary story threads resolved, leaving hope for the future.

I love this Series!

Another great Bob and Nikki book. What a fun story, trying to find a home for the Boatman that's too good to be true. As the fleet searches , they find conflicting evidence that rapidly becomes concerning. New tech is brought to bear and a mole is uncovered! If you're not already reading this series do yourself a favor and start!

It's just in the way Bob does things

It's the characters, various viewpoint of various sentient species including artificial. The home spun uncomman comman sence logical simple but complex tao of Bob keeps me laughing amused and gobbling up story after story as soon as they come out.

Delightful romp!

I started with the first book, and roughly a month and a half later finished the series. Twenty nine books isn't enough. I'm not ready to leave the world of Bobs Saucer Repair. It started fun and finished fun. Ill miss the friends I made in BSR. Thank you, Mr Boyd, for an entertaining 6 weeks!

Series Review Through ‘Slo-Mo’:

The good:
- interesting premise.
- some clever situations.
- nice writing style
- enjoyable

The bad:
- repetitive: situations, jokes, Bob’s “day”.
- too many characters (all are interchangeable; no one stands out. That is, everyone acts/reacts like everyone else.)
- no one grows, learns, or changes as a person.

top of the line as usual for this series

I look forward to the new books and try to watch for the release. They are always well written, entertaining with great characters and a new plot, some action but not just the same over and over.

read them all

Thanks have enjoyed almost everyone of this series. Stop reading what I am at the time and read the latest book. Is it possible to get a auto doc in your store, getting pretty old and could use a boost. Keep up the good work Boss.

Great series

This has always been a great series to relax with. But this book is a little drawn out, and hard to get though. A bit boring compared to the others, but they can't all be the best one of the series. It does slide right into the series, and can't wait for the next.

Always so excited when. The next book comes out, just to see what Bob is up to next! Glad it's back to Bob being the narrator. Not the wait for book 30!!

Not Bad

I had some problems with this book, a lot of the same stuff over and over and a plot point that came out of nowhere. Also maybe I’m miss remembering things but this is book 29.
Still it was an okay book just not as good as some of the other ones.

I just finished this continuation of the Bob and Nikki saga, loved it! Looking forward to the next one. Listened to the Audible preview, oh my! Now Bob will sound really different in my head! Not that I can hear anything when not using the app, but knowing that Bob is/was a hillbilly, and hearing it, makes such a tremendous difference! They have a great reader for the set, and if I didn’t hate expensive subscription apps, I would get it in a heartbeat! Free for the first month or two, then $14.99 per month to have access to your books? Really! No thanks!
I don’t know if you have access after canceling the app, but probably not! Good job, Jerry in your choice of reader, and his talent in all the different voices used, if I could give more than five stars, I would!

Another great installment!

This is fun reading, and while not as full of puns as usual, still great entertainment. Also a pleasant surprise!

I hope you are not getting tired of writing these stories!

very enjoyable read.

I’ve read the whole series and can’t wait for the next installment. When they come out I drop whatever book I’m reading to read about Bob and Nikki. If you’ve not read the series, start with number 1, you won’t be disappointed.

Another winner

I've been hooked since I stumbled on book one of bob and nikki, there's A weird pleasure when I recognize a obscure culture pack reference. And I wouldn't mind a turn in the auto doc and a chance to join the BSR. Lol

This was a more interesting read than many of the more recent books in the series, but there was still too much repetitive padding, with pages and pages of trivial dialogue.
If possible I would have given 3.5 stars.

So much fun

Yeah, slow mo is a nice planet, eh? Would be a shame if it burned down or something wouldn't want that to happen to such a nice place after the non-peed upon wasp nests now do you? Naw, just be cool and yer walnuts will be fresh and not roasted by the prison Warden!

Read them all!

And still not tired of these adventures. Wish more people were like the members of this crew. Love the different peoples and especially the bots. Hope you never get tired of writing the Bob and Nikki Book series. Thanks so much.
