A collection of comics on self-love from Liz Climo
Sometimes we just need a little pep talk to remind us that we’re doing our best. With help from her animal drawings, Liz Climo encourages us to embrace the joyful moments, get back up after falling down, and always love ourselves.
Liz Climo grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Los Angeles after college to work as a character artist on The Simpsons. She started a comic blog, LizClimo.tumblr.com, where Rory and his dad first appeared in 2012. Liz currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Colin, and their daughter, Marlow.
Liz Climo is a character artist for The Simpsons TV series and has worked on The Lebrons and Seth Macfarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. She also the author of Le Petit Monde de Liz, a comic collection published in France as well as a forthcoming children’s book. She lives in Los Angeles.
A sweet and uplifting read! This is the perfect perk-me-up if you are feeling down or struggling.
I loved the cute animal illustrations but have concerns over the page showing a hamster on a wire bar wheel. It's unsuitable and a hazard that can cause injury (solid bases are safer). It's not "just a book" or "just for entertainment" when it's perpetuating something harmful, while the general public might think it's normal/fine just because they saw it in a book.
A cute and adorable graphic novel that made you keep on turning the pages.
I’m So Happy You’re Here is a graphic novel is about a reminder for us when having hard times, to remind us that we matter, to keep our good friends close and to remind us that no one is perfect.
Sometimes we didn’t know that we need this kind of reminder or motivation when we had hard times. This is what we needed sometimes. I’m So Happy You’re Here is a very quick read and it is a constant reminder that we all matter and nobody is perfect. It’s good to pick this up when you are feeling down or feeling sad or if you are going through a hard time.
Thank you Times Reads for sending me a copy of I’m So Happy You’re Here in return for an honest review.
This adorable little book is subtitled: 𝙰 𝙻𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝙰𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚆𝚑𝚢 𝚈𝚘𝚞’𝚛𝚎 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝. Don’t we all need to hear that?
Life gets really hard, frustrating, and discouraging; oh sorry, it's just where I’m at right now, but this book was exactly what I needed. It is simple and sweet but very encouraging.
This is a much-needed reminder that you are unique, you are needed, and loved. And the illustrations are guaranteed to make you smile!

Life as an adult can be hard. Everyday challenges can seem insurmountable amid the constant barrage of negative messages about one’s shortcomings and failures. Best-selling writer and Illustrator Liz Climo offers healing words and delightful drawings of animal friends through "I’m So Happy You’re Here." The illustrated volume features Climo’s signature artistic style depicting endearing and fanciful creatures to balance the heaviness of proactively confronting daily troubles. Climo delivers an encouraging message to help anyone dealing with past mistakes, worrying about the future, and sustaining anxiety about the unknown.
Self-worth easily erodes in a culture and society that profits from perceptions of one’s inadequacies. I’m So Happy You’re Here will make a thoughtful keepsake for any occasion. This is a delightful book that will appeal to anyone of any age, especially one’s younger self. When self-compassion is in short supply, this book offers gentle reminders and affirmations that one is loved beyond measure. For other creatives, it may also serve as an inspiration to breathe life into a vibrant and soothing inner world, as Climo has done through her writings and artwork.
@kokboekencentrum.romans @kokboekencentrumjeugd
Not sure why this is tagged as Children's - it's definitely for adults! Not that there's anything inappropriate, but the references to past high school trauma and all that mean it's very much not relatable to young children.
A cute little graphic novel in rhyme that encourages readers to keep going through the hard times, to hold on to hope, to remember you have worth, to keep good friends close, and to remember mistakes are opportunities for growth and that no one is perfect.
This is a quick little read done in fantastic rhyme and with cute and humorous pictures that is a good little pick me up for those too hard on themselves, who feel alone, are a bit sad...or going through just about anything that can bring a person down. It's a sweet and charming little mental health read that seems aimed at adults but would also be good for middle graders and young adult readers too.
An important read when you need to hear you are great even if things don't go as planned. A cute book with amazing drawings telling you that you're great. Sometimes you need to hear that and this books helps a lot with that. When you doubt yourself or when it looks like everything goes wrong, this is a book which will give you a really good feeling and cheer you up.
This is a book which you can read in a short time and read over and over again.
I've been going through a really rough time lately. Honestly, this whole year has just been awful. This book was just what I needed right now. It made me smile and made me think that maybe everything will actually be okay.
Liz's delightful animal cartoons, silly humor, and heartwarming messages are the light needed at the end of everyone's dark tunnel. She never disappoints. I hope for many more books showcasing her wonderful talent and messages of hope, kindness and love.
I've been struggling with a math class, having gone back to school after many years and I REALLY needed this book. I have a lot of self doubt (always have) and this book is very encouraging. The illustrations are wonderful, as are all of Liz's books and they have great messages. Highly recommended. Somehow I ended up with two copies when I checked it out from the library but it's worth reading twice!
I was a little bummed when I first started this because I thought it was going to be a collection of her comics instead of a book. The more I read, the more I enjoyed it and found it to be such a sweet, encouraging book. This would definitely be a wonderful pick me up for someone feeling down in the dumps.
Sometimes we stayed in our comfort zone too long, and need some courage to step outside, this book is a good tool that reminds you about what you have and who you are.
Minus a Star all because this one cannot be downloaded to Kindle Paperwhite 5 and Kindle Oasis 3 to read. Hope this can be rectified so we can read it thru Kindle Paperwhite and Oasis.
I bought this book for myself, because I am a self-loving queen and I needed to read something nice that felt like a ray of sunshine and reminded me of how fabulous I am.
I love it, it's such a little heart-warming book with lovely designs, beautiful colors and simple, yet effective and love-filling words.
Thank you to you, Liz Climo for creating this and sharing this with the world.
