Being so familiar with Disney’s fairytale adaptations, and even some deeper lore versions from Once Upon A Time, rereading the original tales was a lot of fun to see what is usually kept or changed in retellings!
There were a few I hadn’t read (like Aladdin and The Snow Queen) and it was fascinating to see how in depth in some sections or vaguely mentioned parts of the stories are. It was cool to to see that there was a hint of religion/Christianity, which makes sense because at the time a lot of these might have been verbally passed along or written, Bible stories would have been some of the most widely known.
Fun read, most short and simple! And the cover for this version is STUNNING. Definitely an aesthetic shelf display!

I don't think I have ever really read many of these fairy tales so it was interesting to see the origin of these stories.

Enchanted Tales & Happily Ever Afters is a collection of our most beloved fairytale stories in their original form by the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen and many others. I found it really interesting to read the original stories without them being changed around for children, though I found some of them quite dark in places. For instance, I never knew that Sleeping Beauty had such a dark side to it!?? 😱 My favourite of them all is definitely “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Anderson. It is such a sweet, sad story. Do you have a favourite? 🥰
