Thanks to Ava Barron’s meddlesome but well-meaning friends, she’s a reluctant contestant on the wildly popular dating reality show Ever After. After a tabloid-worthy breakup leaves her in shambles, she agrees to take a vacation from real life and vie for Prince Charming’s heart, a former Olympian turned underwear model. After their humiliating introduction is caught on film, he graciously looks past it and does his best to sweep her off her feet. Yet, it’s not his charms that Ava finds herself falling for.
Tucker Nolan is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry with a reputation that precedes him; one that’s akin to a shark that can smell a drop of blood in the water a mile away. A self-made man with a tumultuous past he’s managed to keep buried, he believes that his drive for perfection is what keeps him on top. As the host of Ever After, the irony that his acrimonious divorce generates tabloid headlines isn’t lost on him. And as determined as he is to resist their undeniable chemistry, Tucker’s carefully cultivated world is turned upside down the first moment he lays eyes on Ava Barron.
The seven weeks Tucker and Ava spend together just might make them believers in fairytale endings after all.
You know how people (myself included) watch shows like the bachelor because they want to be distracted by trashy television and terribly edited storylines? That’s how it felt to read this book. And not even in a “this is entertaining” kind of way, more like a “can’t look away from it” way. The only reason I finished it was because it was under 300 pages.
I felt the premise of the story was interesting but that the characters were very two dimensional. I certainly wasn’t out here looking for Shakespeare or something but I personally was not a fan of the writing here.
I can see how some people would enjoy this book, but to readers like me who like more complexity, I wouldn’t recommend. If you’re looking for a simple easy rom-com read, I would say it lives up to those expectations. I just personally have different taste.
I’m giving it 2 stars because I feel bad giving it less than that, and it still is a book I finished
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 3.5 stars I’d say this was an average romance book- not perfect but not bad either. It was essentially the bachelor/bachelorette in book form. I don’t watch the show but I did enjoy it as a plot for a romance book. I think it might have gotten a 4 if the ending wasn’t a little rushed. I felt like all of a sudden the last couple chapters everything just exploded then the epilogue was years later and that was that. I generally liked the characters, Sierra included, but not so much Dean. I would have definitely gone for Tucker as well. I’m glad they ended up together in the end and that they moved on from what they were doing career wise for something more up their ally and feel good (although kind of random because there was no mention of it earlier in the book). It was a steady read and nice for February’s Vday romance book list that I have going on!
**I received this book as part of a Goodreads Giveaway. All opinions are my own.**
This was a fabulous book. I truly enjoyed reading Ever After. Ava and Tucker are just fabulous characters. I honestly would love to see a second installment featuring them.
This was a great romantic book without all the over the top sex scenes and I really enjoyed that from this book. Also, the light banter and such between Ava and Tucker was fabulous. I also thoroughly enjoyed the "behind the scenes" feel of reality dating shows. Makes me wonder now if this is how the Bachelor show is truly behind the scenes.
Highly recommend this great book from Mar Eden. You won't be disappointed!
I won this book in a good reads giveaway. I couldn’t put it down! Like gawking at the police cruiser that pulled someone over, I was glued to all the in and outs of this book. Enjoy!
Whether you're a fan of reality dating shows or not this book is still enjoyable. There is all the stereotypical show contestants, with a true romance brewing. This is a warm romance of a reality show host and a baker, with the typical reality show winch who loves drama thrown in.
It was a cute cheesy romance. Fast paced. Honestly it's one of those easy books where everything just magically ends up super okay. I'm on the side of being more realistic, but I'm actually generally happy it ended the way you could predict. Loved Ava's character
