I'm so disappointed. There was little description about this book, so I said to myself this will be a good read since I like the author. It should have come with a warning that states this book has been previously written under the Hard Truth series. Don't just slap a new title on it and have your readers believing that it's something they haven't read before. It took me only three pages to figure it out. Question: Do the authors get paid every time someone opens a new book, even if it's under a new title? You should let the readers know so if they want to read it again, let them have that choice and not be hoodwinked into believing it's something different. Know better, do better.
Hard Truth - Everly may be young, but she is not silly. Finding herself in the situation she has, she makes the most of the opportunities (small though) she is given. It's not an easy path, but her strength continues to grow despite the challenges faced.
Dark Truth - Can I say I hate Ben with a passion. While we see very little of his abuse and trauma inflicted on Everly in real time, his actions have consequences that she struggles to deal with
Deadly Truth - Everly's compassion is put to the test. Her experiences with the letters, with Ben and now with *** (no spoilers) have made her realize that true power lies in the hidden realm of money and fame and intelligence and that it needs to be guided in a way that makes hard decisions
Really great story with Evelyn and her 5 letters. No lose ends and parts that make you cheer with the 6 of them.
*********SPOILER ALERT********************
I chewed my nails in those months when Ben had her- wasn’t fun and reading all the stuff he did to her was horrid but I’m super glad she rose above and became who she is. And then the shock horror of who was alive!! I kinda had an inkling but thought it was her mum… boy was I wrong!
Really recommend picking up this book and reading it- not something I usually read but I’m glad I did!
When I first started this series, I was not at all bought in. I’m glad I stuck out the first couple chapters (Mainly due to the excellent writing of Everly) because this has turned into a favorite!
I love the character growth they went through and the plot twists were to die for (wink)
The spicy scenes were delicious but the normal relationship stuff was great too.
Excellent RH book and well crafted. RR has gained a new fan
Excellent engaging characters. Loved Everly as the FMC - had a soul but also a total badass. The letters were all fascinating characters with interesting back stories. Loved how much these ruthless men adored her.
Good story with engaging plot lines to keep you guessing. A must read complete series.
It's not often that I find something that sucks me in so completely. I read all three books in 2 days. My family had to fend for themselves bc I was not popping out of this world till the end! I loved it. Happy reading y'all 😍
This is not your typical capt!ve story (if there is a typical one). Does have an element of conspiracy which made it much more interesting. Definitely some twists and turns. Very good book!
Is you want a great book on a secret society and RH with secrets and suspense and a great ending this is the book for you this set has all 3 books and I could see this as a movie I could not put this book down once I started it.
Thrilling series! Lots of twist and turns. A strong heroine and great anti hero themes. Spice level 8.5 There were some typos, sentence structure errors, and a few minor detail mix ups but few enough that it didn’t interrupt the story.
I only made it to the 2 percent mark. Childish writing..easy to see it would not improve. I cut my loses and deleted from my kindle. Author needs creative writing courses.
Had this on my kindle for a while and didn’t pick up. So glad I decided to! The characters are well thought out and you develop and grow with them! Although RH it’s not smutty and each guy has his own identity and time with everly!
This is the complete Kiss Her Goodbye series in one complete book. (Hard Truths, Dark Truths, and Deadly Truths)
Everly Marrs is a senior in college with a mediocre sex life when she wakes up in a house on an island with five kidnappers known only by letters (W, T, J, K, D). She gets exposed to a secret organization and has to find ways to stay alive.
I don’t know if Everly developed Stockholm syndrome or she has a very high sexual appetite that made her want to sleep with her captors. (I think it was actually a mix of both).
Each book has a good conclusion and books 2 and 3 do a good job of picking up shortly after the previous book ended. The characters develop quite a bit over the span of the three books. Everly takes more control and the letters become more love sick.
There were parts of the book that had me laughing due to the banter between the characters. Each one has a unique personality and it was fun reading their interactions at times.
