Alastair is an award-winning children's author and puzzle creator. He's the author of the sci-fi middle-grade adventures ORION LOST and ADAM-2 , and children's picture books THE PRINCE AND THE WITCH AND THE THIEF AND THE BEARS and INCH AND GRUB, as well as books of Sudoku, Kakuro and other puzzles, including the Kids' Book of Sudoku and Kids' Book of Kakuro series.

Alastair lives in Edinburgh with his wife (who is lovely), two children (who are lovely but very loud), and a cat who is yowling at him even though there is clearly food in her bowl, look, it’s right there, *look*.

Hoewel het vorige deel wat saai was wilde ik wel verder. En gelukkig wat deel 4 is weer spannend en vol avontuur (hoewel deel 2 het beste blijft).

Het nieuwste deel en ook echt weer lekker spannend! Ditmaal Mira en Vonker die heel goed zijn met technische dingen. Ik heb genoten en vond Mira een leuk hoofdpersoon, leuk dat ze zo van techniek houdt en ook alles doet om elk detail uit te vinden. En tof dat ze, ondanks hoe die techniek-gast zich gedraagt, ze toch het blijft proberen en er iets van probeert te maken. En later wanneer dingen misgaan is Mira degene die een geweldig plan bedenkt! Oh, en Vonker! Zo'n toffe draak en dan ook nog een interessant talent!
En ja, zoals ik al zei het wordt spannend. Niet alleen met dat einde maar ook een zekere prins/koning die weer lastig aan het doen zijn.
Al vond ik die techniek-gast maar echt vervelend. Jeetje man, als jij niet zo overdreven had gedaan was er niks misgegaan. Maar nee, en dan geef je ook een kind de schuld van jouw falen. Goed zo hoor.

A story about human nature in relation to the "other". Quite pertinent in modern times as the king seeks out the dragonseer guild, fearing they are a dangerous organisation. Can they keep their existence a secret?

Mira/Flameteller's story is a good read, and the other dragons/kids make cameos that were appreciated by my little one. He's keen for the next book too.
