4.5 This Is So, So Bad Stars ⭐
I instinctively knew this was going to be good. Initially I wasn't dazzled by either character. We had a hero with controlling tendencies and a young woman in desperate need of attention; both annoying qualities. Except I recognized that this was all surface level. As we peeled away the layers, there was going to be something special about both Silver and Charli.
What the hell came over me? Could I blame it on the whiskey? On my broken heart? A combination of the two?
Silver and Charli essentially grew up together. Although not related, a much younger Charli worshipped Silver from afar. Now with Silver in a steady relationship, Charli's moved in with him as she attends college. But when Silver suffers a personal blow, it's this girl that helps him get his life back on track. ~ahem and not in the traditional way.~
It’s all sick, twisted and perverted, but it keeps my thoughts away from my loss, my pain. I want to live in this bubble, keep reality out for as long as possible. Watch her, do dirty things to her in my mind.
Oh it's skeevy because it feels one sided. Silver taking pleasure and liberties with Charli who is desperate to participate and be seen. But I know this author wouldn't leave us hanging. Ms. Flynn is setting the scene for fireworks, heartbreak and major revelations. In the meantime, have spare panties handy because damn!

This is no half assed taboo romance. It was questionable, unacceptable and what you should expect if you want to feel hot, bothered and corrupted! I can promise it's a romance with no cheating but loads of breeding kink, plus a HEA. Can't Look Away felt fresh and original and dare I say, reminiscent of an earlier Jade West? Taboo and Age Gap Lovers need this book in their lives, it's that spicy!

Nova Flynn never disappoints with the spice. These two are explosive. I always know I’m in for a delicious treat. The role-play is hot as hell.

‘But I need it!’ she whines,…How will anyone ever like me if I don’t look the part?”
Our hero:

Peppered in between their hot and heavy we see his need for a family of his own, his other inner struggles, one of which is his hurt about losing his honorary son when his fiancée ups and leaves him.
We see how she grows as a person, how she deals with her own issues: mostly acting the airhead to keep friends and family happy.
Enjoyed it!
However, I would have LOVED it as a Romance with elements of erotica instead of mostly erotica with traces of drama.
Still, it felt real at times and I enjoyed the writing style very much.
Briefly, because other spoilers are already in my shelves:
H is engaged to and living with the ow and her young son. He loves the child with all his heart. He cares deeply about the ow but it’s clear that his goal is more to build a family with her than actually loving her for herself.
The h moves in with them because, being the protected princess of her family, she can’t stay in her college dorms.
He thinks she’s an attention whore. Her shenanigans ARE irritating even when we learn why. She’s also had a crush on the H for yearssss.
They don’t act on their attraction until the ow leaves him for her ex husband who she’s been cheating on the H with. Hero doesn’t handle the split well. Misses the child a lot. Starts drinking too much, loses interest in work, etc. A right asshole to the h who admittedly is way too OTT.
After a lot of waffling on his part they start a secret affair. He’s fanatical about keeping it quiet. Their age difference bothers the crap out of him because his ex gf told him he’s too set in his ways and he doesn’t want to make the same mistake with the h. He’s also dreading her family knowing because he’s been a part of them for many years.
Initially he uses her as a distraction from his hurt after his ex gf and her child left but later, without him realising it he falls in love with her.
The idiot ow wants another chance and that’s when he realises that she’s not the one for him and that the h is the one who actually makes him happy. But the ow tells the h’s family before he can and all hell breaks loose.
The h leaves him, finally putting her foot down, because damn she took a lot of his shit.
Him: “…I’ve fought the feelings I’ve developed for you. Treated you as a dirty secret.”
He says he’ll wait forever for her. Poor sod.
He makes efforts to get his life on track and to prove to her and her family that he’s worthy of her. They have no contact for 3 months until she comes back to him.
No other ow or om during the separation.
2 nice epilogues which realistically shows they aren’t suddenly this unrealistically “perfect” couple:
“…sometimes the age difference between Charli and me does show. I don’t want her to miss out on life because we decided to jump straight into having a family, but at the same time, she sometimes struggles with owning up to “her responsibilities. And I sometimes have to step back on my controlling behaviour. But thankfully, our spats are few and far between, and always followed by some serious making up sessions.”

This story of Silver and his young pseudo niece, Charli is so deliciously naughty!
It has age gap and quite a few taboo elements that are incredibly hot and delightfully kinky.
Charli moves in with “Uncle” Silver to be closer to University. She loves attention and the spotlight. She’s boisterous, dramatic and a bit over the top.
Silver is steady, buttoned up and a bit of a control freak.
There are inevitable clashes and butting of heads….with a spark of excitement.
I love the dynamic between the two, there’s a lot of teasing, taunting and barely controlled desire happening between them.
And then, they detonate in full forbidden fashion and sexy glory!
The role play and the dirty talk is on point! It’s taboo and sexy perfection.
A wonderful aspect to this story is the character’s deep connection to each that goes back for years. Her family is like his adopted family which amps up the forbidden factor and the fear of getting caught.
It’s a story that has great character development and depth that balances perfectly with the high level of eroticism.
It’s a taboo delight with intelligence, heart and character growth.
It’s the full package for me.

Full of angst and steam!!! I love that most of the story is told through Silver's POV, but we do get a few chapters from Charli. I loved watching the growth in both characters. Charli and Silver compliment each other so perfectly and their chemistry is undeniable. The steam, was hot 🔥 🥵 !!!! I thought it was a definite 5 star read!!

Everything I love in a romance
If I could give this a grade, it would be a perfect 100! 5 million stars, I loved it so much! And good lawd y’all, it was k!nky, and f!lthy, and tab00, and soooooo spicy 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 I’d absolutely lose my mind if there were ever an audiobook produced and would just melt.

If you like age gap romances look no further, this book contains all the forbidden romance your heart could desire! What I really enjoyed about this book is seeing Silver’s growth as a character and looking beyond the persona Charli puts on and really see her for who she is. I love Charli when I first met her I knew I would have a soft spot and having read more you can’t help but fall in love with her. And the epilogue god made my heart melt!

Taboo - 'uncle' - age gap
I LOVE taboo reads. They are definitely my favorite when it comes to reading spicy stuff.
This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it a lot!
So I knew Hannah would come back. I just thought it would've been a bigger deal. I thought she would threaten what they had because at that point it was so fragile. I really expected him to think about taking her back just to make things right because he thought being with Charli was so wrong. I wish there was a little more to this scene. Especially when he comes back and finds her in his phone, there should've been more there because who tf did she think she is?!? There should've been a whole thing about it because how dare she go through his phone. She CHEATED and LEFT him .. so she had literally no right to go through it. But that scene was so small and could've had a lot more to it, it should've been more significant because that's when he realized how much he loves Charli - this while thing was what I rated 4 star instead of 5.
I like how real this felt. The whole forbidden trope usually has a hint of the relationship being wrong but then they jump right in. Silver was hesitant from the start and even through out he still let his doubts and uncertainty come through - like I imagine would happen if he was a real person and not a character lol.

Silver and Charli
This was my first book by this author. I do not usually go for taboo romances, but dark romance is my thing, so I was fine with the setup. He was not actually her uncle, just someone the family took in when he was ten after his parents passed away.
My biggest issue was the writing style. Some of the word choices were just not it. At one point she describes him going in and out of her “canal” and I had to stop reading for a second. That completely threw me off.
The age gap did not bother me. Silver is 32 and Charli is 19, but I have read books with even bigger gaps. The spice was solid, but the plot did not really hit for me. Silver was spiraling over Heidi leaving and Tom being out of his life, only for us to find out later that he had only known Tom for a year. That made the emotional weight of it feel a little off.
Silver clearly had unresolved issues from losing his parents so young, and Charli was dealing with her own stuff. She lacked self-awareness and came off really bratty and selfish toward her family and friends. Still, I will give them credit for bringing out the best in each other and actually growing as people.
I did enjoy that this book was mostly told from the male point of view. I typically love the male parts more anyway, but this was the first time the male character was the complete center. I also loved that they got to have children and that Silver finally got the family he always wanted to fill up that big, lonely house. That part was really satisfying to see.
This was my first book by this author. I do not usually go for taboo romances, but dark romance is my thing, so I was fine with the setup. He was not actually her uncle, just someone the family took in when he was ten after his parents passed away.
My biggest issue was the writing style. Some of the word choices were just not it. At one point she describes him going in and out of her “canal” and I had to stop reading for a second. That completely threw me off.

This book was Hot Hot Hot! The edging and build up, the pining and resisting, the ways he slowly gave into his feelings and desires for her was so freaking hot!
3 things I didn’t like:
1. 95% Single POV from mainly MMC
2. On-Page Intimate/Sexually Explicit Scene with someone other that FMC
3. His Very Low Opinion of Her and how mean he is (mainly in his head but some out loud )in the first 1/3 of the book
I don’t mind when the MMC hates that he wants the FMC, I actually like it when I come across it, but Silver was so hateful and judgy in the first 1/3 of the book when he thinks about Charli, and some of it is warranted but it also just left a bad taste in my mouth. I also didn’t like how it felt he was using her to cope with the ending of his previous relationship. So I loved that the FMC took a step back to see if their feelings really were serious and permanent outside the bubble they had been living in.
I loved that the parents came around. I loved how she made him less serious and more relaxed. I enjoyed how he helped her ‘mature’ a little. With the age gap, I did like that he didn’t have inappropriate thoughts about her when she was younger and it is now with time and space he sees her in a different light.

This book was 80% smut and 20% plot at most.
It follows the story of 19yr old charli and 32 year old silver. Charli has been pining for Sylvester since he’s family died and he moved in with her family when she was a teenager.

Such dissapointment.
The idea was so promising and it could have been one of the best books instead what we got was porn, porn and porn (admittedly a good one but still). Little to no plot. The MC was truly awful, he was the biggest dickhead to the heroine for the majority of the book (even in his head), acted like she was good only for sex, thought about her only in sexual way and insulted her every free moment. The heroine wasn't much better, being just a horny stupid bimbo that was kindhearted but a true doormat for the hero

I think there was a story in there
It wasn't bad. It was more smut than spice. I get the whole taboo thing, i 'll read those books. But it was pushing it with the whole uncle/niece thing. It got old really quick.

Definitely taboo, definitely dark. Made me a bit uncomfortable - but that’s the whole point isn’t it? I definitely hated the way Silver was so rude about her wearing make up and stuff 😂 but again that was the point.
