It's a very interesting feeling to be called out by the very book in your hands, but it's nice as you're given guidance at the same time.
I was super excited to see a book series devoted entirely to Sun Signs and may pick up the Gemini book to have my husband read it. This seemed to pop up in my suggested books just at the right time as I was deciding to expand on my knowledge of my birth chart, and I am not disappointed at all!
A good selling point to me for this book was that there were various contributors that offered up their own personal recipes and rituals in regards to their Taurus sign. This is definalty one of the books I will have close at hand near my altar and it will soon have small post it notes sticking out for quick referance.
I learned so much about myself in this little book. Not to be underestimated, short but sweet chapters lead you through every aspect of your Sun sign, and how it’s impacted by your rising and moon signs as well. I found the descriptions by Ivo and Thorn, as well as the guest contributions to be very relatable and spot on in most cases.
The book itself is easy to read, well-organized, and aesthetically stunning. Very comforting greens and heart chakra-invoking drawings throughout. As a Taurus in the truest sense of the sign, I really appreciated the direct, pragmatic approach of this book.
My favorite section was the Taurus Patterns chapter, and the exploration on what it means to be a fixed sign, and how Taurus affects the entire zodiac with its placement. I was never aware of these relationships before.
I also loved reading about Venus as the planet that rules Taurus. That never clicked for me until reading the descriptions and connections in this book. It’s a reference tool must have for all Tauruses.
I really enjoyed the pervading theme reminding all of us bulls that we are at our core all appreciative of beauty, and that that is where we’re coming from in our connections to the simple things in life.
Finally, the idea of viewing Taurus as an egregore, a concept I’m sure is in the others sign as well, was stirring. There’s something very tangible about Taurus, and believably that it might be an entity of its own. As an animist maybe it’s time to look toward that and introduce myself.
Taurus Witch: Unlock the Magic of Your Sun Sign by Ivo Dominguez Jr. and Thorn Mooney is an insightful and well-rounded exploration of how to integrate Taurus energy into witchcraft and everyday life. The authors do a fantastic job of highlighting both the strengths and challenges associated with the sign, offering a blend of practical tips, exercises, rituals, and spells that cater specifically to Taurus witches. The inclusion of contributions from other notable practitioners adds a rich variety of perspectives, making the content feel even more well-rounded and engaging.
While some sections feel slightly repetitive, the book is packed with thoughtful insights and practical advice that will appeal to both beginners and seasoned witches. The recipes and rituals are easy to follow and grounded in the sensual, earth-oriented energy of Taurus, making it easy to align magical practices with the sign’s natural strengths. Overall, Taurus Witch is a valuable resource for anyone looking to delve deeper into astrology-based witchcraft and celebrate their Sun sign in a meaningful way. Four stars for a solid and enjoyable guide to working magic through the Taurus lens!
I loved this! I didn’t necessarily pick this book up because of the witchcraft notion, though it is fascinating. I wanted to read this to learn more about Taurean energy, astrology, and how that relates to my intentions and personality. This book really made me feel seen! It goes into depth with your moon and rising signs as well, and has so many tips and tricks that hit home for me. I recommend reading it if you’re also looking for the same things — or of course, to embrace your inner witch! There are other books for the other signs as well.
Las primeras páginas me gustaron, pero luego se convirtió en un libro de superacion personal con una serie de temas y autores random dando su punto de vista, dando la sensación de desorden y falta de fluidez. Tenia altas expectativas con este libro y me decepcionó.
