Six men are missing, and no one cares.

No one except local lodge owner Nyla Jameson, and Somerton's power-hungry sheriff isn't about to listen to her. Desperate, afraid, and with no one in her corner, Nyla knows that her only hope of finding someone to believe her lies somewhere beyond Somerton's borders.

Agent Aaron Klein had more than enough excitement over his ten years with the Bureau. So, when Nyla Jameson's email finds him, begging for his help, Aaron is prepared to turn her down. But something about Nyla stops him, some intangible thing that has him rushing to Somerton before the sun rises the next morning.

Together, Nyla and Aaron dive headfirst into Somerton’s insidious, blood-drenched secrets while more men vanish into the belly of the Basin’s hunting grounds. Something is haunting the mountain forest, and Nyla and Aaron must unravel its mysteries before they join the silent corpses buried beneath the evergreens.

Absolutely fantastic read for me. I fell in love with Aaron and Nyla very early on in the book. Aaron being a very logical and intelligent PI however with strong sense of Justice that can get him emotional at times made him instantly likeable for me and felt like a very well written character

Nyla was different in the way that emotions felt like the driving force behind most of her actions however she definitely had the smarts to back it up, as well as the knowledge of her craft which proved invaluable. Her inexperience with the procedure around an investigation however made it very relatable as a reader and you want to root for her from the beginning.

The plot takes you through a very interesting story where you are left with breadcrumbs throughout that all comes together during the climax which felt great when you look back to see how you got to that point.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance as well as crime/horror as it delivers on many different levels.

Kill Bite was an amazing book with well written characters. Nyla and Aaron undeniably click from the beginning and their bond grows from there. I also loved the Indigenous culture tie ins. A very well written story with relatable characters and a good storyline. The story doesn’t move too fast but at a reasonable pace that leaves you not wanting to put the book down. If you love romance and horror/crime, I highly recommend this book!

I was hooked from the cover and was hooked from the first page until the end. It had a strong story-line and the characters were everything that I was expecting. I enjoyed the way Victoria Jayne Saunders wrote this and was able to bring the characters to life.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was an interesting combination of horror and romance. On the whole I enjoyed the characters depth and arcs. Descriptions were great. Enjoyed the connections to Native culture, it made for a unique antagonist! Considering this seems to be a newcomer to the writing scene, I was quite impressed!

There's Something Savage In the Woods

I loved Kill Bite. The premise is lifted from the ordinary by nitty gritty details I haven't encountered before and I loved being surprised. There's a lot of downright funny parts that contrast well with scares and drama. The central characters are attractive, unique and relatable.

If you're not into steamy romance, you may want to skip through some passages, but I think the action avoids being cringy and is quite entertaining! There's sensuality that's well-balanced with humor that makes the vivid scenes comfortable.

Thank you to Victoria Jayne Saunders and Story Origin for the free advance reader's copy of Kill Bite. A trilogy is in the works and I look forward to books two and three. Without any constraints, I recommend this book!
