Mary's brother is killed by drug lords and she's the only living relative to pay his debt. But she has a secret admirer within the mob's deadly ranks who decides to abduct and save her for his cold, kinky, desires.
3.5stars: KRYPT books 1-3 by Lucian is a dark, serialized story line focusing on payment for a debt.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Krypt and Mary) KRYPT 1-3 introduces some of the background and world building that focuses on payment for a debt. Krypt and his family are the apex predators, drug lords who control with murder and power, and as such Mary will quickly discover she is payment for a debt. With her brother missing, and presumed dead, Mary finds herself a prisoner of a man with morbid sexual predilections, and she is about to become his path towards freedom.
KRYPT 1-3 is a very quick read. A few chapters, covering but a few hours in the life, revealing a Stockholm Syndrome relationship between a woman, and a man with unconventional want and needs. Krypt is a mortician, and works for the family business, a business that take payments in the form of the flesh. The premise is dark and terrifying; the characters are bizarre and strange; the romance is limited to obsession and need. KRYPT 1-3 ends on a bit of a cliff hanger.
Krypt 1 What a great start to this short serial series. Krypt has been fascinated with Mary since his first brief encounter. Now her brother is dead and she is the only one left to pay her debt, so to save her Krypt abducts her. Come to find out she was also as fascinated by him….but what is next, this short book drags you in and leaves you needing the next book now!!! Krypt 2 I floved this! So much intensity, heat, passion and so much more in a small package…Mr. Bane has me hooked and leaving me needing the next…I want to praise and hate him all at the same time for continually leaving me needing more Krypt 3 I binged these 3 books and need more Krypt and Mary!! So much intensity, and passion, add the hint of taboo and drama and this book just adds more and keeps you on edge and needing to know what is next….now to wait for book 4
Despite being short, all 3 books in this part of Krypt are packed full of lust, fear, desire, and excitement. Krypt has a fascination with the dead. But, when the sister of the only friend he has ever had is tapped by his family to pay the debt of her brother, he steps up and abducts her in order to keep her safe! Lucian Bane has once again used his immense storytelling talents to give us a series that literally has you begging for more more more!!
This steamy serial, will have you on the edge of your seat throughout, wondering what the frick will come next and how will it set my kindle on fire next. With its steaminess, it’s uniqueness, it’s kinks that will have you questioning your own sanity and I am totally here for the ride.
Mary and Krypt, are perfectly imperfect for each other. We join them on this journey, as they uncover new and old kinks together. Are becoming easily obsessed with each other in one way or the other.
One is warm, loving, innocent, totally stubborn and knows what she wants…
The other likes it ‘dead’ cold, he is used to his way of life likes it even and isn’t ready to change. Then along comes Mary… the obsession begins.
These books may be short but they are easy to read. Steamy, totally hooking, leaves you with more questions and more intrigued with each passing book.
Strange and tantalizing start with this series. Krypt is slightly off-the-charts psychotic, but you cannot help but feel a strange pulling at your heart when you read more about him. I cannot help but want to read more about how Mary tames him and makes him more human.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Krypt had me from page one and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It is not for the faint of hearts and there are triggers for some readers, but this is an awesome read and by far one of Bane's finest pieces of work in my opinion.

When Mary's brother is killed she's left to fend off his debts, but theres a salvation of sorts, Krypt's obsession for her, might just save her, but with that comes Krypt himself can Mary keep up with her twisted captive? This is books 1-3 and end of a cliffhanger
I actually DNF this book…there’s talk about him being into having sex with corpse/dead people and I deleted it after that. Not my thing but if you can get past that then it would probably be an okay read. Book 1-3 are only 84 pages long.
Lucian writes some really interesting stories and books 1-3 are absorbing however they were a little to short for my taste with that being said I did go on to purchase the rest of the books so I wasn't left hanging.
Each of these books is short, fast-paced, intriguing, and intoxicating reads that suck you in and hold on, compelling the reader to find out what's coming next. Lucian Bane is one of my all-time favorite authors who has an innate ability to tell a story like no one I've read before.
Wow this story is different from any other's I've read. I was confused in the beginning I think it would have helped if the author set the scene better with her brother
This was a very well written book series. I was able to picture myself in the story. The author was able to catch my attention right from the start. I would recommend this book. You won't regret it.
I thought these three little reads were dark and enticing and I was definitely left wanting to read more of Mary and Krypt's deliciously twisted tale. That being said, I'm not really a fan of the short serial format. At least with this box set you get more than just a nibble, but you're still left far from satisfied. Still, I truly enjoy this author's writing, so I will be reading more of this series.
