Have you ever been in a big dangerous situation like being trapped in towers or climbing the biggest mountain in the world....? Well in the book "Trapped"by George Sullivan a Nonfiction book 6 characters go through a very tough time through there own problems by doing dangerous things to be the best. I thought this book was pretty interesting.. Some reasons why I think this book is so interesting is because I like how there is different stories throughout the whole book not just one story in a tiny book they're totally different stories different characters and it makes the book more interesting by the minute!! One reason I didn't think this book was so good is because I've heard some of these stories before and I feel like they could've put more interesting stories in the book, but overall I give this book a 4 star rating. The main conflict of this book is that there is a problem of what happened in the past every chapter. The main setting in this book is the past, If you like books about the past or what happened along time ago I recommend you read this book because it is pretty interesting!! This book was published in 1998 which also relates to the past it has been along time ago since these situations have happened. The main plot line in this book again there are so many problems that happened like for example the chapter names were .. "Ordeal in the well", "Trapped in the Towers" .. Those are problems that happened in the book that relate to the plot. This story is believable because it is Nonfiction and Nonfiction is real. The book "Trapped" I recommend for readers that like Survival books and Interesting Nonfiction books.. There are a lot of problems that happen in life and this book explains what happens to all 6 characters in this book.
In this book the Author George Sullivan describes 6 storys on people being trapped. There are 6 titles for them with all of them being baby Jessica still in the well, 93 men buried in mine, children caught in world trade center, ordeal on sunken sub,Blizzard engulfs everest climbers and dc-8 stowaway survives.
The whole idea of the book is to bring attention to many events in history of people being trapped. The very first story in this book details how a baby named Jesssica falls down a well shaft and is stuck for days on end. It details how the rescuers had to drill into the ground to pull her out and how she was affected after the indecent. In the second story they detail how a mine collapsed and dangerous gas fills the mines and kills many of the men.
This book was very good i believe that if you are interested in thrillers you should read this book. It keeps you on the edge of your seat while reading it wondering if the people will make it out or if they will die where they are. I strongly recommend for anyone to read this book it is very fun to read and is not very hard to read.
As you can see,I rated this book 4 stars.Trapped is a great book in various ways based off your taste. One thing I personally liked was the events chosen to use in the book. The anticipation of whats happening next is very high, but is predictable at times as well..I wish George Sullivan went deeper detail into the characters, such as their early life.Another thing I would of liked to see in the book was to talk about the characters nowadays and how what they did effected them. Therefore with that being said i rated this book 4 stars instead of 5.
My book is “TRAPPED” by George Sullivan and it is a pretty good book in my opinion. The summary is about how main events happened in the world and they got saved or stayed alive. The central theme of this book is main events and people overcome the problem like where a kindergarten class got stuck in an elevator while a bomb went off below. All of the plots start off with a climax. I think the book was pretty good. The book wasn’t very long but it wasn’t extremely short either. I would rate this book a 3.5/5.

My boyfriend was recently going through his books and decided that I needed to read this book. It was very interesting to read about the ways different people were trapped. I hadn't know of any of the stories, except for the Everest tale (because I have already read Into Thin Air). Overall, a very fast and interesting read.
Finally I got to learn the details in the story of little Jessica McClure who fell down a small well/pipe in Texas! As well as read the terrifying/inspirational stories of other true cases of being trapped and rescued.
I rated George Sullivan's Trapped as a 3-star read. While I enjoyed learning of the real-life miracles in each story and learning how the victims were able to survive such peril, the stories were partially predictable. I knew that the main characters were going to survive because if they hadn't, they probably would not be in the book. In one of the most interesting stories, "DC-8 Stowaway Survives," for example, I was compelled to read to find out how Armado possibly could survive a plane trip from Cuba to Spain stuffed into a wheel well. It just didn't seem possible. The details of how he survived were fascinating. However, the stories could have been more suspenseful if the outcomes were not obvious.
The book, "trapped", is a great book to read if you are interested in hero acts. The suspense is very exciting, it keeps your eyes glued to the pages, just to see what happens next. The things that occurred at the time makes you want to think how everybody were feeling at the time of the scene. Although it got 4, I think it was not worthy of 5 stars. These disasters were mild and nothing like 9/11.
I gave Trapped 4 stars because it gets you reading and into the book in like the first story which is Baby Jessica. I gave a 4 and not a 5 because it was a little bit predictable and they really don't go deep on the characters as I thought they would have. but they give you a good amount of suspense and good details that you can picture in your head. But the author I think did really good on this book and I would want people to read this book because it is a really good book to me.
If you like to read a nonfiction disaster story you should read "Trapped". I read Trapped after I finished Vanished, book about kids who got in danger and made their way out of it, because I was interested in reading disaster type of book. One thing that the book taught me was that perseverance is important in moments of hardship of your life. One of the chapters talked about people who were stuck in Himalayas and persevered the extreme weather. Another example was about baby Jessica a 18 month baby stuck in a deep narrow well. She stayed there for almost 50 hours. She didn't give up and tried to stay up. She was saved by a rescue team but she was badly injured. This story inspired me to try harder on my language arts subject.
