As a fan of this author, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on this ARC from Booksprout and happily dropped into this dangerous world.
Book two in this storyline has intense issues surrounding these characters. Jason and his Irish Mafia brothers are trying to get answers about the death of their father, but it's harder than anticipated. Kira is in a terrifying predicament with her brother, the Negotiator for the Bratva.
There are cringe worthy parts in this read that certainly gave me pause, but this is expected in a Mafia/Bratva read. The violence, torture, bloody conflicts, betrayals and suspense are all here in this twisted storyline.
This read smoothly. There's a good connection between these two, and nice steamy chemistry. Some parts of this book feel a little unfinished to me, but overall I enjoyed it.
Definitely read this book in the correct reading order!! References to the first storyline and events are more enjoyable when you know them!
I look forward to reading the next one in this series!
Vi Carter’s novel Savage Marriage begins immediately after Jason Murphy and his brothers have just buried their father who hanged himself. He was the head of the Irish Mafia and now his son Alex will inherit his throne. But Jason and his brothers do not want to believe their father capable of taking his own life and find evidence that he was murdered. They will stop at nothing to find the person who killed their father. Meanwhile, Kira Tarasova has just been informed by her brother Nicolai Tarasova, the Negotiator for the Bratva, that she is to be married to Jason Murphy of the Irish Mafia, produce an heir, but that she would be returned home to him (Nico) within three weeks. She just needed to sign some papers first and she was reminded again that she was expected to provide an heir. Kira is terrified of her brother who has spent her lifetime mentally torturing her, their mother and their father. Then she watched him kill their father with his own hands and has buried that memory deep within in order to protect herself from her brother, should he ever learn what she witnessed. When Kira hears of her impending marriage, she concocts a reason to be seen by her doctor so she can obtain birth control pills, not wanting to ever bring a child into the world in which she lives. She convinces her maid and closest friend Angel to lie for her so she can see the doctor. She also does not understand how she could marry Jason but be living back home three weeks later. When she is reluctant to sign whatever documents Nico gives her, Nico severely punishes her maid Angel to within an inch of her life for Kira’s lies about why she visited the doctor and forces her to sign the documents that he won’t let her read. She and Angel are then driven to Jason’s home to live. Jason does not trust any of the Bratva that he has negotiated an arranged marriage to Kira with and is cold and distant when the beautiful woman who is soon to be his wife, barges into his office demanding he get a doctor for her friend who is badly beaten. And that is just the very beginning of the story of Jason and Kira!! I will not give any more away, because it is a story the reader should experience for themselves. I cried, cringed, laughed, hung onto the edge of my seat, became terrified, aroused, had my heart broken and healed, and so much more as I read through this incredible work by Vi Carter, one of my all-time favorite authors! This is a MUST buy!
Bratva princess Kira is the sister of Nicco, the notorious Negotiator for the Russian Bratva. She’s being forced into a marriage contract with the Irish mobster Jason Murphy, but Nicco vows she’ll be home in three weeks and marry him instead. Nicco has dreams of a pure-blood marriage between siblings, Jason is disgusted she wants to marry her brother, or does she? Wow what a story Kira is a strong young woman except with Nicco, a brother who is a pyscho!! She secretly witnessed him murdered their father. Things don’t quite add up as he gets to know Kira better, her fears, her strong defense of her personal maid proves she can be loyal. Jason is surprised by her hidden hatred she has for her brother. I love the interaction between Jason and Kira, she begins to see she can trust him, she has no reason to fear physical from him. She begins to hope for a future from fear, from hatred, but will all the secrets and lies destroy what they are building? Can she face the demons from her past? Jason has his own demons and secrets from everyone including his family, secrets that could destroy them all. A captivating story of Kira and Jason, and the Murphy brothers who need to break the alliance with the Russian mafia, build new alliances and find their fathers killer. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SAVAGE MARRIAGE" This story had you on edge it start off with a bang murder, suspense, intrigue, angst, betrayal, secrets, lies, action, brutal abuse, arranged marriage, twists that make for one addicting dark twisted read. Kira is a Bratva Princess & sister to the notorious Negotiator for Russian Bratva Nicci's promised her in marriage to Jason Murphy Irish Mafia & she has to produce an heir, but he's changed his plans he'll pick her up in three weeks they'll marry she'll produce an heir for him, she's so disgusted she how's it'll never happen. Jason Murphy has his own secrets from his childhood that could shatter his family, he handed a Bratva Princess Kira who comes with terms he agrees on till he meets her, she has secrets of her own he needs to find out what they are. I definitely recommend to get this amazing dark twisted story watching Jason deal with Kira, she penetrates his darkness, not only does he have to face his demons from his past that's come back to haunt him, but deal with Kira's as well, will these two survive to get a HEA you gave to get this book to see what happens. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!
Okay I knew going into this book it was going to be raw and gritty I mean it’s a mafia book but holy ish I wasn’t expecting to be hit so dang hard. My heart was pounding out of my chest for what Kira goes through and I love how Jason is will to do anything to protect her. This book had me in a choke hold from the very first page. The twists and turns. The secrets, lies and betrayal that’s exposed will have your jaw on the floor. There were some tough deductions that needed to be made and that man jumped right into the fire feet first consequences be da*ned. I love how both Jason and Kira learn their is more to each other than just meets the eye and the chemistry between these two builds over the course of their story. I love how the overall arc of the story will span over each brothers book and them working to find their fathers killer but more than that I love seeing these men fall for their women!!
SAVAGE MARRIAGE has some dark moments that push the envelope, so if you have any triggers you might want to check that out before reading.
I don’t know who is more evil Jason’s father or Kira’s brother, but rooting for them to get their pay back is a good part of the book.
The story is told in the dual POV. Jason contracted to marry Kira initially and their attraction is immediate, but circumstances make getting together an emotional challenge.
The story has chock full of mafia/bratva entanglements, family bombshells, revenge, torture and getting rid of bodies. In other words, good stuff!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kira lives in terror of her brother Nicco who has an unhealthy obsession with her. Kira is to marry Jason but Nicco wants her to break off her engagement. Although Kira is strong, she is not strong enough to resist Jason, who is willing to do anything to protect her. I loved it, very entertaining.
Savage Marriage is book two in the Murphy's Made Man series. A dark Irish mafia romance. It's smartly crafted with multifaceted characters and complex storyline that hooks you right from start and keeps you riveted, spellbounding and invested in the characters. A standalone full-length romance with no cheating or cliffhanger and guaranteed happily-ever-after. I loved this delicious addicting story I could hardly put it down. It's fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat and filled with secrets, danger, violence, hatred, betrayal, fear, kinks, drama, lust, enemies, suspense, deception, tension, torture, attack, defiance, mayhem, forced marriage, revelations, murder, steam, bloodshed, passion, alliances, manipulations, surprises, unexpected twists and turns, family issues, hatred, resentment, madness, heartaches, survival, mystery, anger, drug use, physical abuse, pain, torture, action, sinister plan, enemies-to-lovers, hate-to-love, forced proximity, love and so much more. This is Jason and Kira story. When Kira Tarasov got wind of her impending nuptials and what was require of her she came up with a plan with the help of her maid and best friend to go see the doctor and get on birth control. She didn't want to bring a life into the world that she lived in. Kira Tarasov is a Bratva mafia princess her evil, barbaric and monstrous brother Nicolai, the negotiator inform her that he had arranged her for to get engaged in to Jason Murphy of the Irish Mafia family. She was told that she must also give him a heir. Nicolai tells her that she will return to him three weeks and they will get married because he wants heir of pure blood. He produced a document for her to sign without giving her the opportunity of reading it. She was hesitant to sign the document because she doesn't understand how she's going to marry Jason and then go back home three weeks later. Kira is deathly afraid of her brother because she witnessed him murder their father with his bare hands and he had physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically abuse all her life. Because she refused to sign the document he beat her maid within the inch of her until she signs then he dropped both of them off at Jason's doorstep. Jason Murphy and his brother's just buried their dad who hung himself. They're on a quest to uncover the murderer they have uncover evidence otherwise. Because they know that he wouldn't kill himself because he was the head of the Irish Mafia. They stop at anything and turn every stone to get to the answers that they need. The arrangement that Jason agreed to with Nicolai is temporary in order to strengthen their organization. Jason has suffered a lot of abuse that he didn't share with his brother's secrets that is gut-wrenching and would tear the family apart he turned drugs for comfort and run away. His brother Alex the new head of the family found him and brought him home and he's now off the drugs. Jason was all set to go for the temporary engagement contract that he sign but one look at Kira he changed his mind and the more time he spent with her he wanted her for himself. He couldn't understand why she would want to marry her brother and was disgusted. He had to find out if she felt the same way about Nicolai as he does. Once he learnt truth and lies and secrets started to come out she opens up darkness inside him and his secrets also come to light. She eventually realizes that she can open up to him and that maybe he will be her savior to get away from her evil brother. While at the same time Nicolai tried every trick in the book to get her back home when he saw the chemistry between Jason and Kira and when she was coming back home. Jason was very possessive and protective of her. Their chemistry was sexplosive, scorching and intense. Nicolai is one of the most disturbing, disgusting, and depraved sibling relationship that I've ever read before.

Savage Marriage is the second installment in the Murphy's Mafia Made Men and can perfectly be read as a standalone.
Let me start by saying that I love this cover do much. Artistically impressing and just right for the story inside!
This is the tale feauturing Jason Murphy and Kira Tarasova, the girl arranged to marry one of the oldest Murphys and the sister of the infamous Negotiator. I absolutely loved this book. It feels like a conundrum inside a conundrum with so much secrets and secret agendas, dubious liasons and intentions, a murder to uncover and everything in between. Both were great characters that you can't help empathize with, being it for the weight of what they carry on their shoulders or the experiences they went through and most of all the terrible plan that will totally glue the two once the distrust is overcome. In this sense, I thought Jason and Kire to be very much alike: both hold truths that won't set them free, on the contrary, its most probability is to backlash.
It started askew for Kira and Jason: antagonism, fear and suspicion, to search the guarentee family and friends were safe and protected even at the cost of themselves, a temporary arrangement and that tiny recognition that there was so much more about the other. In a world of the games people play, repercussions, actions, reactions, alliances to settle and, sometimes, hope for the best, Jason and Kira started as a problem but, in fact, they were really the solution.
The narrative flowed fast and furious to the pace of the revelations and the glimpses into the past, the reasonings and the intrigue that, as much we get to know, as much we keep questioning. A great slew of secondary characters as well as the big ol' guns estrategically placed in the plotline, give credibility to the plot and put a simile on our lips fir the nostalgia of the stories we already got to experience. It was fantastic how Kira and Jason began to warm to each other and how they surprised each other and with that came worrying, care, understanding, desire and love. These two together were a 🔥h.o.t.🔥, kinky and decadent mess, one you root and support, because there are no other persons to fit each of them. It's them and only them!
As a mafia story you have chaos, mayhem, violence and decisions and conditions to be made and to adhere to on behalf of the family's position, security and power as well as the allies. I really liked how things turned out and Jason didn't get the best, he got the lesser evil and once he gets used to it, he'll be a great decision maker, and....he got the girl in the end, safe and sane. And the tact that his brothers were always on his mind, his worry and his need to make it right for them was very special, very felt, very apreciated. Both sacrificed so much, on their own and altruistically, that they had to get each other...a true power couple!
Savage Marriage is the second book in the Murphy's Mafia Made Men series. It is told in dual POV. It is a Dark Irish Mafia Romance, but can be read as a complete standalone, though for a better experience I recommend starting with the first book, Sinner's Vow, as we met Jason Murphy there. This is his story with Kira Tarasova. Both of them have family obligations and secrets they're hiding from their past. To follow your family obligations or to not? What will happen when all the lies are revealed and the buried secrets get uncovered?
Jason's family has an alliance with the Bratva that they are trying to get out of, and to get the result they desire, he has an arranged marriage setup with Kira, the sister of the Negotiator for the Bratva. Not only that, but him and his brothers are trying to figure out if there is more involved in the death of their father, but it's not as easy as they had expected. Kira's brother, Nicco, wants her to return home in three weeks though as it is clear he has his own plans for his sister. Sounds like a protective brother right? Doesn't sound as bad as it could be right? If only her brother wasn't a cruel, vile, abusive, monster of a human being. I was hoping he could be redeemable (I always like to believe the best in everyone, as people typically are the way they are for a reason) but nope. The man is just deranged. So rather than being scared, upset, or angry, Kira counts down until the very second she can be free from him. Jason's family is also twisted though in his own way. He definitely didn't have it easy, with an abusive and horrid childhood.. 🥺... the pain these two suffered PAINED me so bad. It will have you on edge waiting for karma to doll out its justice! The violence, blood/gore, secrets, betrayals, and drama, will leave you with bated breath as you wander through all the twists and turns in this book!
The chemistry between Jason and Kira is palpable. Jason's definitely not perfect nor is he a saint, but he redeems himself. I LOVE how possessive and protective Jason is of Kira and how despite all that Nicco tries to tear down his sister with, she remains resilient and keeps her walls up, refusing to allow him to break her. Strong as ever! These two are always there for each other despite how they came together. As with any true love story, nothing is perfect, and there will be hard times, and these two definitely have their fair share of hardships trying to tear them down before they can thrive together peacefully.
My only thing is that I hope we get more of this couple as it feels unfinished in a way, like I still have a lot of questions that weren't answered, and it felt more like a happily for now than a happily ever after. Also, I would have loved more moments with them and watching their relationship develop further. Otherwise, it was a BRILLIANT read!
Jason I've harbored secrets my entire childhood, secrets that have the potential to shatter my family. I have no idea how to navigate this new role I must play but being handed a Bratva princess should be easy; only she comes with terms. Terms that, at first, I decide I can abide by. That is until I meet Kira. She's not only a Bratva princess but the sister of the notorious Negotiator, and she has secrets of her own, secrets that I will uncover. Raised to defy the laws of pain, I'm unstoppable. But when Kira's secrets are revealed, she penetrates my darkness, and not only do I have to face the demons from my past that have come back to haunt me but hers as well.
Kira I'm a Bratva Princess born to be a queen. My brother has promised my hand in marriage to a Mafia man. I must marry a stranger and produce an heir. Before I return home to my brother and his sinister plan, I vow never to let that happen. I hold my truths close to my chest until my secrets threaten to bury me, and I have no choice but to turn to the very man I vowed would never have me. WILL OUR SECRETS BURY US ALIVE, OR WILL WE BLOOM IN THE DARKNESS?
This mafia romance was a fabulous read from beginning to end. The story line development was brilliant and it was a slow burn bit it made the book really flow well. The characters really made the story really enjoyable. Vi Carter has written another fabulous book for people who love mafia romances , they will love this book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Savage Marriage is book 2 of the Murphy's Made Men series by Vi Carter. This is Jason's story. We met him in the first book but now we learn why and how he became who he is. I think reading these books in order will make it easier to understand him and his brothers. Jason is told he is marrying Kira, her family are Bratva.
Jason and Kira have incredible chemistry. They can fight like no tomorrow but then... Kira immediately knows how to push Jason's buttons. I love that she is so sassy no matter how much her brother kept her down. She makes Jason act so protectively without even knowing why.
I will say there is a relationship in the story that made my skin crawl and was a bit uncomfortable to read. Although the character is a villian so I even felt this more so as actions revealed his nature.
The action kept me reading on through and the spicy relationship of Jason and Kira was wonderful. As I mentioned I loved Jason's protective streak and Kira's sassiness. This book also set up Alex for possibly the next book. There are still unanswered questions so we will have to stay tuned. This book is loaded with violence but then it is a mafia book. If you like Mafia this book will fill the bill quite nicely.
Savage Marriage was an intense and complex story that kept me at the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything would unfold. This story picks up after the first book in the series Sinner’s Vow and follows Jason Murphy and Kira Tarasova. Kira is a Bratva princess who has learned that she is to marry Jason, produce an heir, and return home to her abusive brother after three weeks. Regardless of the fear she feels for her brother, Kira is such a strong woman and shows that in the way she interacts with Jason. We really get into the grittiness of Jason’s childhood and why he is the way he is. Jason and his brothers are investigating the death of their father, the late head of the Irish Mafia. Jason is back after turning to drugs to drown out his demons and willingly accepts to marry Kira for three weeks for his family’s sake. Upon meeting each other, Jason and Kira have an incredible chemistry that had me rooting for them and loving Jason’s protectiveness over Kira. The plot was chaotic (in the best way possible) and had twists and turns that had me racing through the pages to get answers and see what happened next. Vi Carter is in my top five go to authors for dark, suspenseful mafia books and does an amazing job at writing an intricate storyline and enthralling characters.
Intense, Powerful, Gut Wrenching Irish/Bratva Mafia
This second book in the Murphy’s Mafia Made Men series is just as riveting and exciting as book1. This story is filled with secrets, betrayal, seduction, arranged marriage, Bratva secrets, and the Murphy men of the Irish Mob! This story will keep you enthralled from the very first page to the last sentence. This book is quite intense and there are so many secrets and truths revealed your head will be spinning.
This story follows Jason Murphy and Kira who are put into an arranged marriage by Kira’s sadistic and unstable brother Nicco! Nicco is the negotiator for the Bratva and is feared by many! He has kept his sister locked away and only agreed to this marriage for his own selfish reasons that will shock you fully!!! Kira hates her brother and is scared for her life everyday but Jason is a new path and she hopes she can make it to the alter without losing everyone she’s ever cared about! You will thoroughly enjoy their story and Jason has some truths revealed that will shake the Murphy clan to the core. I know you will enjoy this intense dark romance and will run to read the next book in this series. Happy Reading!!!
Jason's family has a situation with the Bratva. They have an alliance with them that they want to get out from, and as a result Jason is to marry Kira, sister to The Negotiator for the Bratva. Kira desperately wants away from her brother, who has made it clear he is not ready to let her go and plans to bring her back in just three weeks. Thus begins the twisted tale of Jason and Kira as they both deal with their toxic and messed up families and how these situations weaves around them both. This was intense and steamy with lots of action right from the very beginning. There are a lot of twists and turns before we get to their happy ever after. This one was very insta, and I had a little trouble following the passing of time. I thought we were just a week in, and then they were at the end of the three weeks. There was also a hint that Jason was betrayed by one of his guards but it's never actually addressed. Despite that, I still loved reading this and hit exactly what I like in mafia romances. Can't wait for the next book!
This is the second book in this series and although you could read it as a standalone you would definitely get more from it if you have already read the first one. We met Jason in book one and this book tells his and Kira's story.
It's an enjoyable story full of action, intrigue and violence with some dark moments so be aware, But alongside that there is lots of heat and spice and some great chemistry and two wonderful characters who although forced to marry as part of an arrangement between the Irish Mafia and the Bratv are actually perfect for each other. despite how much they may fight it. Their relationship is far from what you would expect, I loved Kira's strength of character, and her sassy nature, especially when you think of how her brother kept control of her. I loved how she knew just what buttons to push when it came to Jason. She really brought out Jason's protective streak!
I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series as there are still unanswered questions which will hopefully be answered in that one.
Dark Mafia drama abounds in this intense romance between Jason and Kira. I had a difficult time with Kira’s dark victimized life with her twisted family and evil brother. While the author did a good job painting her damaged history and life, I kept waiting for Kira to show some kind of survival savvy when Jason became a main player in her life. Filled with dark elements and family betrayals, this storyline was not for the faint of heart. I liked the main couple and their romance, but there was far too little trust on Kira’s side and not enough action on Jason’s side as he was constantly bombarded with problems with his mafia family and with Kira’s issues. Kudo’s to the author for avoiding a relapse with drug use, and for keeping Kira and Jason true to each other.

This story is like a chess game. No trusts anybody. Irish Mafia families vying for control and then there’s the Bratva.
I like that Kira is a strong woman who survives in a glass bubble before her marriage is negotiated with Jason. Jason is sting and trusts no one, yet he agrees to marry a Bratva bride to hopefully protect his family. Huge mistake. Each has their own secrets and the game is a foot when their is a change in the terms of this merger.
The brothers are back trying to find out if there father committed suicide or was he murdered. Uncle Frank is back and scheming as ever.
Vi Carter did it again. I was entertained from the first page to the last and am really enjoying this saga.
Happy Reading📖🌻.

Vi Carter is one of my favorite authors and she delivers another exciting, steamy read in her Murphy's Mafia Made Men series. This is Jason Murphy and Kira Tarasova's story. Kira is a Bratva princess and her brother is an abusive (in every way) psychopath determined to use her sister by arranging a marriage to the Irish mob heir, Jason, but then bringing her home and marrying her himself! But when these two meet, there is intense chemistry and they very quickly become protective of the other. Well written compelling characters, intense chemistry, sizzle, steam, action, drama, and so much more. Great read and as good as book 1. Both books are currently available on Kindle Unlimited, so binge read them both soon.

I really enjoyed this for the most part and I liked it better than the first but there were some things I felt were missing that would have really elevated the story for me. For one, I feel like a lot of context was missing. Like why did Nicco arrange for Kira and Jason to be married in the first place if he wanted her all for himself? What was the significance of the three weeks? Kira I liked but I felt like she was a bit too naive at times when it came to her brother and speaking of him, the book definitely needed more of a trigger warning for what happened. There was one in the beginning but I feel it could have been a little expanded on. Jason was alright, not my favorite MMC but he wasn’t the worst I’ve ever read either. I wish we got more of relationship development between the two and a better epilogue with them more in the future but other than that it was a decent read.
Savage Marriage oh my goodliness this is absolutely a fantastic edge of your seat experience. There is chaos, action, danger, twists and turns in this story keeps you glued to the pages. This is a brilliant addition to the Murphy Mafia Made Men series, is Jason and Kira are arranged to be married. But, Kira is a bratva princess groomed to be a Queen. But she holds secrets of her past. and is determined not to be told who to marry. But her brother Nicco who is the negotiator of his crime family. Nicco wants his sister for himself. He wants an heir to but from pureblood lineage. But, Jason and his brothers must deal with their own problems. Their father's death heavy on their minds. Not suspecting that he would take his own life. They are hell bent to find out who killed their father. Will the answers be solved?? Oh man I wished this came out during Halloween. A thrill fest book yes..

Loved the book it was great, the storyline was exhilarating and the characters were sensational. This is about an arranged marriage between Mafia and Bratva and that is where Kira and Jason come in, Kira is surprised that her brother had arranged her marriage, she is to give him an heir and then her brother gets her to sign papers. Jason thinks this is weird, that he is to get married get her pregnant to produce an heir and then send her back to her brother after thirty days. This story has twist and turns to keep you guessing and definitely a page turner.

I absolutely loved Savage Marriage which is a dark twisted romance between Jason Murphy, who is seeking the true person responsible for his father’s death which was made to look as a suicide, and Kira Tarasova, who is contracted to an arranged marriage by her abusive and unstable brother Nicco who is also the Negotiator for the Bratva. Jason and Kira’s relationship was one of mistrust at first but eventually they find they are strongly attracted to each other. This well written and intriguing book has amazing characters, secrets, murder, distrust, danger, physical and mental abuse, plot twists, and a dark romance.

Dark Romance between Jason and Kira. Jason kept many secrets from his brothers and it may change everything between them. He is not ready and he has enough problems he needs to solve and he already has arranged marriage on his door step. Kira is a Russia princess except the happy princess vibe. She will be entering arranged marriage for three weeks and she will gain freedom except it wasn't. She is trapped and only way out is to suffer three weeks with someone she never met. She thought she would free herself fro her brother except he won't let her go. He wants her to himself. This is darker than previous ones I have read from this author. Reader should be aware. I did enjoy Jason and Kira. I can't wait to read the rest of Murphy brothers.

I jumped into this book based on reviews and recommendations and found it to be lackluster and dry. It is part of a series and as you would expect, there was plenty of backstory I missed out on by not reading the first book. However, this wasn’t the downfall for me. The disappointment was the nonexistent chemistry between our MCs. At no point did Jason and Kira try to get to know each other before. It wasn’t until Kira’s rape that Jason took the time to learn about her and begin to build on his supposed attraction. I can only presume it was purely physical attraction up until then because they didn’t know each other or trust each other at all. There was no emotion or chemistry here. Sadly, the supporting cast did little to interest or intrigue further desires to follow their story.
The Murphy’s Mafia series is phenomenal! Vi pulls you right in to the story of Jason n Kira with various plot twists to keep you guessing to the very end! I feel for Kira’s safety under her brother’s domain, and love how much she stands up to Jason her soon to be arranged marriage partner. Yet it is the caveat to the planned wedding that leave Jason puzzled and wonder what Kira is up to. But there is something to Kira’s light that Jason has no plans to let Kira go, even when faced with starting a war against the bratva. How will it all end? You have to read to find out and don’t plan on putting the book down until you turn the last page!
This was another excellent story! I wasn’t sure about Jason after reading the first book. It felt like he was hiding something or had a different agenda than his brothers. It turns out, he was keeping a whopper of a secret, though I don’t blame him. Kira has her own secrets, a whole bunch of them. But will revealing some of them set her free? I loved the two of them together! They had chemistry and it felt like they soothed the other’s souls. Niko is one of the sickest characters I’ve ever read. Absolutely depraved! I ended up loving Jason, like I did Aiden! Can’t wait for the next book!.

Various secrets and plots come out, one at the very beginning of the book. Pretty dark times in places. Jason enters an arranged engagement with Kira set up by her brother Nicco. Nicco is truly warped. Their sibling relationship is really warped by him. He does horrific things to her. She understandably takes time to have any trust in Jason. He ends up being very good to her and for her. Things are not easy as more secrets emerge. Kira makes bad moves by not grasping the world she is in even having grown up in it. The mafia politics are interesting to watch.
