I cannot get enough Nyssa Kathryn!
The very beginning drew me in like a fly to honey. Twice in one day Aria runs into Cole, first he is taking her teenage son to task (Go Cole!) for pushing his mother aside in anger and hurry, and then in a local bar, which is the last place she expects to see him. There he saves her, yet again.
This is turning out to be a very ominous week for Aria.
Allow me a little preface here, Aria is a young mother of a sixteen year old son who truly loves his mother. However, they have been on the run for eleven years. Running from her son Zac's father.
Cole is former Delta whose entire squad was in a FUBAR situation that brought them all home, in some fashion or another. Cole is also a man who completely "hates love" and what happens to those affect by it.
Neither of these individuals plan or wish to be in a relationship, let alone love.
Life gets in the way. Zac's class visits Cole's Mercy Gym, and watching her son Aria sees her fear in real time, as well as deals with a flash back. Add in one teenage man-child who thinks he is "all that", and Zac again is in a fight. While he is defending his mother, it backfires in a major way.
From here on out, the novel moves in normal Nyssa Kathryn style, fast!
Aria and Zac's past becomes again the present, a new unknown threat, and insanity in the form of a new designer drug on the streets brings Cole into their lives, whether he likes it or not.
Cole notices weird happenings and helps what he can, but where does it begin or end.
Nyssa Kathryn's novels always provide suspense, sometimes better described as thriller, and an exciting love relationship.
"Cole" is the third novel in the Mercy Ring, and the sixteenth novel of Nyssa Kathryn's I have read. Still Ms. Kathryn keeps me enthralled from beginning to end, without fail. She has me addicted to her writing.
First with "Project ARMA", a realistic, fantasy romance, (nope not a type, must read !), then "Halo", the second part of Project ARMA, and now, The Mercy Ring, a segue from the Project ARMA novels that is effortless. All wonderful and entertaining!
This leaves me waiting for whatever is next, The Mercy Ring (book 4) or the next Halo, regardless, I know I will not be disappointed.
Frankly, I am excited to see where Nyssa Kathryn heads next with her writing after Halo and The Mercy Ring Series finish. I know whatever genre, or mixed genres, I will not be disappointed.
I cannot wait, but there is still much to finish!
Soooooooooooo ...
NEXT ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
