Monster Anthology Retellings
5 Stars ⭐️
The fact that this is the first time Nyla K has written monster stories just blows my mind because these 4 retellings are so well done! I read that entire shitty MM Monsters & Mayhem series and only liked one book but this anthology is what I was hoping for while reading those. This isn’t a horror anthology but this author took these original classics apart and recreated something special in each of them. The first two stories are MM and the last two are MMM/poly. I enjoyed all of the stories and they seemed to get hotter and kinkier as they went along.
1.) Scared To Death: This is a Grim Reaper story and there are some references to different people in the Bible. The main character, Ezekiel, has just lost his wife and while I am not usually a huge fan of this trope, it just worked. He spends his days trying to take care of the farm by himself while he drinks himself into an early grave. However, the scarecrow his wife loved and made him put up is taunting him, making him question himself and his sanity until one night he snaps and cuts it down. Or does he?
2.) Purr For Me: This is a werewolf shifter retelling of Peter And The Wolf and my favorite one in this anthology much to my surprise. I remember the original being more music than an actual story. All the instruments were different characters. For instance, the oboe is the duck, the bird is the flute, the wolf is the french horns etc and instead of talking or singing, each individual instrument would draw out the drama just by playing it the right way at the right time. It was also made into a Disney short later on. Anyway, this is the age gap, BDSM, Daddy Dom version and I ate this shit up. Purr lives in a small community and he has desires that no one can help him with until Vlad comes along and then Purr gets to live out his fantasies. I usually am not a big fan of lingerie either but fuck this story was so hot 🥵 I felt like I needed a cold shower.
3.) Wrecked: This is a mash up of The Little Mermaid and Moby Dick and takes place in the 18th century. It’s also MMM and yes there are tentacles. Surprisingly, this was my least favorite although I did like it. Andros gets stranded when his ship wrecks and ends up on an island with Mermen, one of which he falls for immediately. Cane is about to be prince and wants nothing to do with the title because he prefers to spend his time topside seeking out ships and wanting to go on land with humans. Cane and Andros start this relationship that involves “I Love You’s” within a few days and the pet names they had for each other made me gag. However, there is a kraken nearby who has always been in love with Cane and wants nothing more to experience him with Andros. They have kinky tentacle time and I absolutely loved the kraken because he’s such a drama queen as he says “And in true overdramatic, angry monster fashion, I may have raged so hard I caused a small typhoon”. 🤣🤣 This one was a bit too mushy for me at times but the tentacle mermaid sex was hot. 🥵
4.) The Creator’s Hands: This one is a polyamorous Frankenstein retelling and it dipped a bit into the taboo if I really thought about it. This takes place in the year 2525 after Earth has fallen and Dr Bastien Krenworth wakes up after spending 500 years in a cryo chamber. He was the only human saved to make a race of part human, part alien beings to repopulate Earth. Bastien is tasked with making perfect beings who have different specialties but it’s all trial and error. His first creation was made to be a great friend and lover with special parts to please his partners but he’s a bit too horny so the doctor tweaks the next creation to be a warrior but also have feelings so he’s not only focused on killing. This story messed with my mind a bit thinking about the future, the relationships they have between each other and the other occupants around them and the ethical questions that enter when Bastien gets involved with his subjects. I had trouble getting into this story at first but then it became so fucking interesting I couldn’t put it down.
After finishing this, I read the author’s notes at the end and I find Nyla K’s mind absolutely fascinating. She’s definitely become one of my most anticipated authors because I never know what to expect but she always breaks down her thought process at the end and it just takes her writing to another level. So, yes this was MM monster retellings but done in a way that made me want more and I am so happy she mentioned a sequel next October with some of the characters she introduced us to along the way.

I liked the first two stories from this book of bold tales. I graded four for the first two couples.
😍I wanted more moments with the angel of death and the farmer.
It was the first time I read a book with a wolf having sex with a human, that was very hot 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
I don't like MMM ( I haven't read the other tales ) 😅

Four MM PNR and monster stories in one book, you say. Yes Please. Wicked Things is scrumptious. The author never disappoints. As always, my review will be vague. I do not want to give away any spoilers.
Scared To Death is more of the biblical proportion and my favorite. In my eyes, you can never go wrong with dark angels and anything biblical. Ezekiel is drowning in sorrow, while Bel, the Angel of death, is fascinated by him. Scared To Death sets the tone for the spice in the book. It literally started with a bang and didn’t fizzle out.
Purr for me is equally spicy with an age gap and daddy kink. Purr, eighteen, lives in a small town, waiting to find the one in his small town. Vlad is new to town and is a wolf shifter. I was very skeptical about this one. I am far from a fan of wolfs. I kept an open mind and fell in instantly in love. The author just made me a fan.
Wrecked is MMM. Pirate, a merman, and a Kranken. Wrecked has more complex characters and is hot as hell. After being shipwrecked, Andrew conflicts over his feelings with Cane. Now add in Wreck the Kraken and the villain. I loved the dynamic between them and a twist I couldn’t help but love.
Creators Hands. Lose retelling of Frankenstein. Another MMM. Reese, Snick creations from Bastien in a post-apocalypse world. Each creation has its purpose. Snick is my favorite. Such a sweetie and self-aware. With a special talent. Reese is a fighter and highly intelligent.
The author stated this is her first on PNR and monster romance. Let me tell you, she knocked it out of the park and hit a grand slam. Wicked Things is a must-read.

Well that was some raw animalistic fucking!
Zeke has lost the love of his life and he doesn’t know why he still exists in this world without her. But something stops him from killing himself.
So, while his farm deteriorates, he drinks until he can’t feel anymore. Then in the middle of his morose undoing an animalistic scream draws him to his barn where he finds one of his cows mutilated.
He’s drawn to the scarecrow his wife made but not in a good way, it angers him so he chops it down. In the middle of the night he’s drawn back to the cornfield where lo and behold the scarecrow is once again standing. While he’s investigating he’s attacked.
But he’s not only beaten down he’s raped by a monster that won’t let him see it. It’s beyond brutalizing as the monster breaks several of his bones. But somehow, someway, Zeke find pleasure mixed with his pain.
After that both he and the monster are inexplicably drawn to each other, both wanting something they shouldn’t.
This one took a minute to get into because you’re led down a very sorrowful road and it get a lot more ugly before you see a speck of light. But once you get through it, it turns unbelievably sweet and of course it’s steamy af. It’s Nyla K after all.
Purr For Me

Purr sticks out like a sore thumb in his tiny town which is why he prefers animals to people. These are blue collar people where hunting is the top form of entertainment. Purr loves animals which is why he’s a vegetarian.
Not only is he a nature lover but he’s gay with a style better fitting for a nightclub in Amsterdam and a proclivity for women’s lingerie. Which is becoming one of the hottest things to me, there’s something magical about D mixed with silk and lace. 🔥🤤
Purr dreams of an older daddy Dom, then enters Vlad, Purr’s antithesis, aka the daddy of his dreams.
But it’s not all fun and games because there’s a wolf not only killing off animals but people too. Three guesses who the wolf is.
Yeah this was so freaking hot, the chemistry between them was on fire. I mean this is everything I adore and Nyla nailed it.

Andros is a swashbuckling buccaneer set out to sail where it’s rumored to be the home of merpeople who’s fins carry minerals that will make him and his crew richer than they could dare dream.
Everything is going according to plan until they near the islands and a raging storm breaks out. In the midst of everything their ship is destroyed by a Kracken.
When Andros awakens he’s on the shore of a deserted island. Well it’s supposed to be deserted until he comes face to face with the very thing he was looking for; a merman.
But who needs riches when you can have hot sex with a half man half fish? Seriously this story is incredibly salacious. Then when the Kracken gets involved? Hot steamy overload and I was living for every fishy moment!
This was a fun read. I enjoyed Andros’ crew especially Kipp and Holls. Andros was the hottest pirate, while Cane was the sexiest merman and don’t even get me started on daddy Wreck and all of his delicious tentacles.

It’s interesting that this is extremely taboo without actually being taboo … at least in a natural sense. Idk, it’s all hard to pin down and I think it’s a decision you have to make for yourself.
Bastien is the only surviving human, saved by an alien race due to his intelligent mind. He was kept in stasis for 500 years and now they want him to create a race that’s made from human and this alien race (theobroma) to repopulate the earth.
The theobroma had certain attributes for each creation. Test subject one (Snicker) is made to care and love someone. Subject two (Reese) is made to defend and fight.
It’s all a brand new world for everyone involved so Bastien doesn’t know how to meet everyone’s needs which leads to some extremely interesting situations, especially for Snicker. I’m not sure if I should be embarrassed but I looked up some stuff to see if it was possible and sure enough it was. 😳🥵
Bastien is such a cockblocker!! But then he became a dirty talking daddy and omfg!!! 🔥🤤
Don’t even get me started on when Bastien finally gave in to his insatiable desires. Yeah I had to look up videos for that too. Way to go Nyla on really pushing the envelope on this one. You win!
Not on was the smut good but the world building, the characters/relationship build up and the story build was fantastic. A perfect story in my humble opinion.

Are you ready to be wicked? This collection of short stories that Nyla K put together is unlike anything I have read from her before. From krakens who lurk in the deep to the son of Lucifer you will get everything you could possibly want!! And of course, no Nyla K book is complete without sword crossing which I promise you will get plenty of. *Sorry, this is a bit lengthy no pun intended. *
Scared to Death
Ezekiel is a broken man. After the loss of this wife, he wanted death. He no longer wished to live after everything he lived for was gone. Going through the motions he lived but barely until one night he was taken, and everything changed.
Bel wasn't supposed to do this, not again. He was supposed to do the job he was sent to do but watching the mortal man grieve lit a fire inside Bel. The likes he hasn't felt in years. Just one taste, that is all he needed. Except one taste wasn't enough.
Wicked doesn't even begin to cover the things that happened in Ezekiel & Bel's story and yet it was also surprisingly tender in places. A lone farmer and a creature from the underworld will leave you melting in more ways than one. *wink wink*
Purr for Me
You only think you know the big bad wolf. Just wait until you meet Vladimir Volkov. The centuries old wolf who can be more beast than man and has quite the fetish for a young guy name Purr.
I love monsters, I always have. The stories that they lurk under your bed and frighten you, but I have never feared the monsters. Shifters though, shifters are my first true love when it comes to anything monster related. Now, I know what it is like when Nyla K writes a shifter and I fear she has ruined me for all others.
Vlad was a beast, and he felt no shame being a beast. I loved that. Then Purr, that sweet boy craved Vlad even before he put all the pieces together. The instalove that comes with shifters was here but in a different way. It wasn't so much about the fated mates part you hear so often about it was more about how Purr was able to handle Vlad's beast. No Halloween collection is complete without a shifter story and Nyla completely nailed this one.

Oh, holy gods I was not prepared for this story!! By far my favorite in this collection, without a doubt! Andros, Cane, and Wreck couldn't have been more different. A pirate off to set sail to an unknown land where his father perished, a merman of sorts who has been longing for something he would never admit and a kraken who has caused more destruction than you could ever imagine.
Really, I can't say much more than that because this story was full of all the twists and turns you would expect from Nyla and more. The descriptions of the sea and the island were absolutely breathtaking I felt like I was actually there seeing it all play out. That first moment in the cave with Andros and Wreck though, talk about one handed read. Grab the rum and maybe something that vibrates and get ready for a ride you are not even prepared for.

From krakens who lurk in the deep to the son of Lucifer you will get everything you could possibly want!! And of course, no Nyla K book is complete without sword crossing which I promise you will get plenty of. *Sorry, this is a bit lengthy no pun intended. *

Ezekiel is a broken man. After the loss of this wife, he wanted death. He no longer wished to live after everything he lived for was gone. Going through the motions he lived but barely until one night he was taken, and everything changed.
Bel wasn't supposed to do this, not again. He was supposed to do the job he was sent to do but watching the mortal man grieve lit a fire inside Bel. The likes he hasn't felt in years. Just one taste, that is all he needed. Except one taste wasn't enough.
Wicked doesn't even begin to cover the things that happened in Ezekiel & Bel's story and yet it was also surprisingly tender in places. A lone farmer and a creature from the underworld will leave you melting in more ways than one. *wink wink*
Purr for Me
You only think you know the big bad wolf. Just wait until you meet Vladimir Volkov. The centuries old wolf who can be more beast than man and has quite the fetish for a young guy name Purr.
I love monsters, I always have. The stories that they lurk under your bed and frighten you, but I have never feared the monsters. Shifters though, shifters are my first true love when it comes to anything monster related. Now, I know what it is like when Nyla K writes a shifter and I fear she has ruined me for all others.
Vlad was a beast, and he felt no shame being a beast. I loved that. Then Purr, that sweet boy craved Vlad even before he put all the pieces together. The instalove that comes with shifters was here but in a different way. It wasn't so much about the fated mates part you hear so often about it was more about how Purr was able to handle Vlad's beast. No Halloween collection is complete without a shifter story and Nyla completely nailed this one.

Oh, holy gods I was not prepared for this story!! By far my favorite in this collection, without a doubt! Andros, Cane, and Wreck couldn't have been more different. A pirate off to set sail to an unknown land where his father perished, a merman of sorts who has been longing for something he would never admit and a kraken who has caused more destruction than you could ever imagine.
Really, I can't say much more than that because this story was full of all the twists and turns you would expect from Nyla and more. The descriptions of the sea and the island were absolutely breathtaking I felt like I was actually there seeing it all play out. That first moment in the cave with Andros and Wreck though, talk about one handed read. Grab the rum and maybe something that vibrates and get ready for a ride you are not even prepared for.

Wicked Things is a wonderful blend of paranormal, mystery and mayhem. It includes genre tropes ranging from grim reapers, mermen, wolf shifters and my personal favorite, a Dr. Frankenstein Alien retelling.
Every story has something deeply emotional as the main throughline with each tale. Every story kept me entertained, curious and loving the spooky atmosphere.
I loved the Dr. Frankenstein retelling. It was such a great futuristic take while incorporating the Prometheus myth. I loved all the emotional moments that even made me tear up.
I also enjoyed the Peter and the Wolf retelling as well. It had a great mystery, along with a dark possessive main character. I loved the atmosphere in this story as well.
Overall Wicked Things is a collection of genres that offer something unique and fresh while incorporating an original take on classic myths.
Nyla K. has another great batch of stories that only prove of her immense talent and creativity. Cannot wait for the next volume.

Scared to Death is the story of a grief-stricken farmer named Ezequiel and Beelzebub (Bel), the Angel of Death, sent to him to take his soul. It is an absolutely sweet tale as they find love and a renewed will to live for Ezequiel.
It was sexy and romantic seeing Bel and Zeke fall in love and make a life together. On a side note, I love the creative uh hiding place for that particular appendage of Bel's.
"He's a human; an animal made of the earth. And I'm a monster, composed of grief and decay."
"You... you're my home, sweet human. I never want to leave you, not even for a moment."

I absolutely loved Purr for me. I think it was my favourite of the four stories. It follows the story of Purr (Pyotr), a young man who desires to be dominated and loved. He feels most at peace in nature with animals than with people. Vlad is a lone Werewolf who stumbles upon a small town ans as he is passing through meets Purr. They have an instant connection, but he feels that he will bring danger to Purr and hurt him in the long run. The townsfolk are hunting him as they suspect a wolf has killed their livestock and neighbours. This was such a lovely and sexy Daddy and D/s story. It had enough fluff and romance to draw me in. Nyla gave us sexy shifted sex as well. Overall enjoyed this lovely story.

Goodness. I did not know what to expect when I went into this story. We have Andros, a buccaneer who goes out to sea to follow in his father's footsteps after he dies out in the ocean. Hurricane (Cane) is next in line to inherit the merman kingdom but wants to be free from the oppressive life of the court. And Wreck, a Kraken, who destroys ships and humans who come to the triangle of islands (reasons that we come to learn for are not what you expect at first.).
I am generally not a fan of MM+ paring, but I was able to enjoy this story. I have not read any merman stories before, so I was curious about how they would get spicy together, but Nyla delivered such amazing and scorching hot sex scenes. I love how Andros came to realize his sexuality and broke from the expectations that he set on himself, and truly became free. Cane/Andros relationship vs Cane/Wreck vs Wreck/Andros all had different elements, and I think, fulfilled parts the other couldn't. Without giving too much away overall, I enjoyed this story.

The Creator's Hand is a Frankenstein-esque re-telling. It is the story of Bastien, a scientist who is taken and is tasked with creating a new superior perfect species. However, as he starts, he soon falls for his creations one by one. This one was my least favourite, and it was hard to get into it. It may be because I am not a massive fan of MMM+/Poly stories, so it didn't work for me. It was a struggle to finish this, and while I love the creativity and concept, it was a miss for me.
I can't believe this is Nyla's first PNR work! I enjoyed almost all the stories, especially the first three, and I hope she will write more PNR in the future!

Nyla K. has become a one-click author for me, because she doesn't shy away from the forbidden or taboo aspects of romance and dark romance, she confronts the issues head on and invites the reader to jump on for the ride. Her writing is always evolving and she constantly strives for different and exciting work for her readers. And I totally love that.
Not everything Nyla writes may be to your taste, but you know that going in. And you can make the choice to read or not. Her books are not for the faint hearted or the pearl-clutchers.
So......without giving too much away....Wicked Things is a collection of 4 paranormal MM+ stories, each with a human/monster twist. Enter at your own risk...
Scared to Death is about dark angels of death, with a bi-awakening of epic proportions.
Purr for Me is a shifter romance, with age gap and a daddy kink. And then some.
Wrecked is an MMM tale with a Moby Dick/Little Mermaid vibe (you'll see!), featuring a buccaneer, a merman and a Kraken. And tentacles.
And finally The Creator's Hands is loosely based on Frankenstein, but with the human doctor cloning aliens and then falling in love with his clone 'children'. It brings a whole new concept to 'keeping it in the family'. MMM+.

I don’t know how to rate this. I read the first story in this book based on a recommendation from a friend. Monsters, demons, etc aren’t normally my thing so keep that in mind.
Ugh. The non-consent is a lot to manage but the perpetrator was an Angel of death so not out of character? I just don’t even know.
I don’t hate it and I’m not mad at it but I can’t figure out how to feel about it. This kind of stuff is still not my jam. I don’t know. I don’t fraking know!

Wicked Things is a delicious quartet of sinfully smutty standalone queer monster romances, and it's fucking phenomenal!
Scared to Death -- A young Farmer named Ezekial grieving the death of his late wife, and Bel the kinky Angel of Death with an obsession... It's profane and unlike anything I've ever read before. I loved it.
Purr for Me -- A shifter romance with age gap, daddy kink, and knotting. I loved everything about Purr and Vlad, and their story was by far my favorite.
Wrecked -- Andros the pirate, Cane the merman Prince, and Wreck the villainous kraken?! There's tentacles involved, do I need to say more? Fucking filth, jfc 🥵

I was in the mood for something dark(er), a gothic romance or a spicy horror would have been fine. Never read anything by Nyla K. but the reviews were promising, so I went for this collection of 4 stories.
The beginning of Scared to Death was promising. Maybe a little more on the despair side of horror where a farmer mourns in a self-destructive way for the death of his wife. In a drunken stupor he goes against a scare crow only to realize the ugly thing is possessed and retaliates in a creepy and bloody way. Couldn't have been more darker and I wondered how the author decided to top or solve the situation. Never would I have expected that it turned Stockholm faster than I was able to say the name of the Swedish capital and then to make it worse switch from the farmers view to that of the demon. I like to fear and despise horror monster especially a monster that did what it did here. I like them to stay creepy mysterious and enigmatic. I don't want reasons and explanations least of all by adding her own version of christian mythology.

I liked the reminiscence of Peter and the Wolf and somehow also the daddy kink and the fur sex but I wasn't able to understand the characters nor to imagine when or where it's supposed to take place. Felt more like the author made a half-assed story out of some interesting scenes and why did she decide to name her twink Purr?
Maybe it was not fair to stop somewhere in the middle of Wrecked before the Kraken made the triangle with the merman and the pirate complete and was able to bring a sense of horror to this fantasy story but after stetting this book aside and reading other books instead to “clean my palates” I now have to call defeat and don't plan to continue reading for a foreseeable time.

Four great novella-length stories that I thoroughly enjoyed. From a fallen angel to werewolves to mermen to sci-fi…the author did an amazing job capturing my imagination and taking me on an emotional journey!

This was another amazing read by Nyla k. I don't know why I thought it was a standalone or a full length romance but color me surprised when I found out that it was rather a collection of short romance tales. Tales that are dark, twisted and retelling of various fairy tales.
Nonetheless , I loved it a lot and read it in one go. Some of the tales kind of freaked me out but in a good way 🤣🤣 I mean they were unexpected with the level of steam but I liked it lol. Totally recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there. It has many manye tropes like MM , MMM , MMFM and many more and I sincerely say that you keep an open mind while reading this one.

This one was weird. Like we went from grief to non con to luuurve real quick. Now you’ll tell me this is a novella, and yes the jumps do make sense for the shorter format. But still, a little jarring. However, the spice was spicy, Nyla K style, and Bel turned out to be an adorable little death demon. I approve.

A pirate, a merman, and a kraken crash into each other on an island. I wonder what could happen? 🧐 Chaos and well, amorous activity ensues. Lots and lots of it. There’s fluids and humongous appendages flying around, it’s all good in paradise. Moral of the story? Tentacles are superior to tails and scales and horns and all that other jazz. I said what I said.

I think this was my favorite of the stories by far. Because I think I prefer reading about highly advanced alien races instead of caveman like aliens, scary though it may be? Tbh I haven’t read the caveman aliens yet either so I wouldn’t know. This was my first foray and it was bizarre and uncomfortable and fucked up in the best way. Man, alien, non binary, hybrid! Bring on the orgiastic future!

i liked almost everything.
what i didn't like was the rape elements (i was warned) and the alcoholism (again i was warned).

Bastien's first creation is made to love and comfort and boy does he want to love and comfort! Especially Bastien (who tries to resist because, you know, this is effectively his child). Yes, the taboo / incest but not really incest vibes are strong here. Really strong.
Bastien ties to do the right thing when creation 2 (the warrior) comes along but somewhere along the way he becomes all master dirty talker, less cock blocker. I had a number of issues with this story in terms of suspending my knowledge how gene splicing etc does actually work but I am so very glad I did because this story is worth it alone for that filthy, filthy mouth on Bastien.
Thankfully my girl Debbie was on point for the research into"can you actually DO that with a dick?" for some of those positions which proved for most enlightening discussions😂

The bond between these three is closer than closer and a little matching DNA ain’t no bother at all.

If I were to review each novella in this book, I'd be here all day, so instead I'll do an overall review for the book. Nyla K. is and always has been a favourite author of mine, with her unconventional stories and straight up spice-riddled worlds, and Wicked Things took this to a whole other level! It had everything from the Grim Reaper to Werewolves and each story wove a unique tale full of emotion and underlying messages that have you in its tight grip. For this being the authors first time writing paranormal/fantasy, she did an amazing job that will set the bar so high for all other books in the genre, and as always, there is tons of sword-crossing and Nyla-esk touches that make it truly spectacular! Overall I enjoyed every second reading this collection of stories, and will definitely will be thinking about it for a long time!

I gratefully received an ARC copy of this book.
Let me start out by saying I would read Nyla’s grocery list if she published it…or if she just let me have it.
That being said, this was PHENOMENAL! This book has 4 totally different standalone stories in it, each one has some sort of fantasy/paranormal element to it. This is not the type of book I usually read, but I trust Nyla and knew she would nail it…and she absolutely did. I loved all 4 so much, but The Creator’s Hands is now the story I will compare any alien smut I read in the future to.

Wicked Things is a collection of MM/MMM paranormal, fantasy, forbidden, monster, taboo novellas. Each of the novella is a retelling of a different myth/story. This the first book of Nyla’s I’ve read and I enjoyed the spooky, queer monster romances. These stories are quick, spicy, and the perfect reads to read between other books.

I LOVED this so much. It was about grief, love, companionship, and moving on after the loss of your loved one. It was my first time reading… you know demon dick and why not read more of them? Bell was such an icon, a sarcastic demon. Ezekiel was a grieving man. Witnessing Ezekiel’s grief was heartbreaking. Their love story was beautiful. I love the fact that Bell knew that choosing life is only Ezekiel’s decision and he needs to let him choose life. And the fact that he was there to take Ezekiel’s life at the beginning but ended up giving him a reason to live was just so heart-meltingly beautiful. Also, Alastair, I’m waiting for your story baby.

Probably my favorite story out of the four. I Loved this story so much. I adore it. It was a beautiful story about finding yourself and your place in this world. It was about three souls finding each other and completing one another. Cane was so relatable, he was fun and easy to love. Andros was a lost man and Wreck was a misunderstood villain. The trio together really completes each other and created a beautiful story. Their dynamic was a top-notch, amazing story.

I had so much fun while reading this book. I’ve never read a PNR book before and I’m so glad this was my first one. Wicked Things contains 4 spicy, taboo, hot mm/mmm novellas and they were soo good, Nyla definitely killed it. But are we even surprised?

Ezekiel x Bell
I LOVED this so much. It was about grief, love, companionship, and moving on after the loss of your loved one. It was my first time reading… you know demon dick and why not read more of them? Bell was such an icon, a sarcastic demon. Ezekiel was a grieving man. Witnessing Ezekiel’s grief was heartbreaking. Their love story was beautiful. I love the fact that Bell knew that choosing life is only Ezekiel’s decision and he needs to let him choose life. And the fact that he was there to take Ezekiel’s life at the beginning but ended up giving him a reason to live was just so heart-meltingly beautiful. Also, Alastair, I’m waiting for your story baby.

Again I enjoyed so much reading this story. Purr was such a fun character to read. I loved how he acted unapologetically himself. I love seeing and reading about characters who know who they are and what they want. And sure as hell Purr knew what he wanted. A daddy wolf. And who am I to judge him seriously?

Cane x Andros x Wreck
Probably my favorite story out of the four. I Loved this story so much. I adore it. It was a beautiful story about finding yourself and your place in this world. It was about three souls finding each other and completing one another. Cane was so relatable, he was fun and easy to love. Andros was a lost man and Wreck was a misunderstood villain. The trio together really completes each other and created a beautiful story. Their dynamic was a top-notch, amazing story.

This was so interesting to read. Nyla managed to create an entirely different setting and plot in such a short novella. This was a close second to my favorite. It was a fun read with a gripping storyline. The spice and some of the positions still make me think, my brain may or may not hurt a little while trying to imagine certain scenes.
