Falling for my broody, and oh so handsome, new neighbor has never been part of the plan. But now, how can I resist him?
Carter Hills is my moody and hot-as-hell country music star new neighbor. How I didn’t recognize him when I rented the cabin next to his for a month is still a mystery. Yeah, I bet he had a great time messing with me on purpose. And disrupting all my plans.
The guy is not only Nashville's most eligible bachelor, but he’s a pain in my a**. Worse, he’s acting like he knows better. But he is about to discover I can master that game too. I’m not some innocent damsel in distress. I can definitely take care of myself.
My heart rate picks up every time we’re together, but it doesn’t matter, his attitude should be enough to ward me off him. But still, the more I get to know him, the closer I want to get.
Despite our banter, Carter is always coming back for more, and my month-long retreat isn’t going as expected. Blame it on the intoxicating chemistry we share.
Is indulging in the fire searing between us and risking being burned worth it, or should I just run away?
Fall in love with Nashville's hottest bachelor.

Big thank you to the New Adult BookClub and author for free e-book in exchange for an honest review!
We all sometimes need pink glasses to view the world around us.
After a big scandal Carter needs a place to lie low and what better place than his own cabin? But he finds himself distracted by the pink-haired fairy staying next door.
Pink and Country is a beautiful love story between an author and a country star.
There are a few things I didn't like about this story. One is the changing in POV that goes a little too far back in time so by the time these two POV mesh, you're frustrated and over it. I would have also preferred that trips down the memory lane be more natural transitions instead of looking like separate subsections. Several times, I thought the story to be winding down naturally when there was still plenty of pages left.
April is introduced as fairly confident woman so her sudden proclamations that she's not good enough for Carter left me baffled.
All in all, I give this book 3.75 stars out of 5. I tend to avoid half points but this time I couldn't. I circled it to 4 stars because of the rating system.
Carter is a country music star hiding from a scandal from his last girlfriend. April needed to get back into her writing. She is renting one of his cabins and thathappen they fall for each other.in the beginning he's being grumpy and a sort of obnoxious and she immediately gets onery with him and gives him a nickname. She has no idea who he is, but they get thrown together and slowly fall in love the story had a slow build-up of romance drama and ex-girlfriends. I loved watching this two grow into their own, , and fall not-so-effortlessly in love with one another. I will admit I had some trouble immersing myself in the story at certain points because of the dual POV and time laps.. A lot of them were set in the past and it wasn’t always clear when things were occurring. I found myself having to clarify certain moments or to confirm that a scene had happened.
A huge shout out to Shalini at Digital Reads Blog Tours for this beautiful book about love and second chances! All opinions are expressed voluntarily.
Sizzle and burn, no, c’mon, just feel the romance in the air with Emmanuelle Snow’s Pink and Country, and keep oohing, aahing and sighing and just dreaming all things PINK 💗 💗 💗!
I hope I’m not the only one who is gonna have a permanent smile fixed on their face whilst reading this romantic story of a country music star and a bestselling author. There’s so much to love in this novel, the angst of letting go of your past, the courage to accept things and move on, the leap of faith needed to trust another person with everything you are, and if all that was not enough, the mayhem created by being in the limelight, the paparazzi’s and everyone with a phone following and hounding, invading your privacy, YES, Carter and April have to fight all kinds of emotional turmoil before they accept inevitable, soulmate connection between them.
The attraction is instantaneous, well, a dropped towel definitely adds to the havoc there, and that scene was a cracker, I had a tough time controlling my laugh, but surprisingly sexual attraction is reined in by both of them and the relationship develops nicely into knowing each other and being a friend phase. The banter is super cute, and I simply loved the nicknames that Carter uses for April like Fairy and Pixie. How adorable is it to have someone write a song for you and there I go again sighing and being starry-eyed 🤩 🤩 🤩? The setting of the story is another factor that deserves special mention. The cabin in Green Mountain is the perfect setting for this romance and the author provides a feeling of tranquillity to the place.
All the secondary characters add a layer of depth to the story giving a glimpse into the past that has shaped the experiences of the protagonists. The author has also painfully described the effects of anxiety attacks and insomnia. The only thing I wished for was increased pacing in the story as there are places where the drama is slow-going and kind of reduces the tempo.
Blushing pink!
This review is published in my blog https://rainnbooks.com/, Goodreads, Amazon India, Facebook, and Twitter.
Alright so I really tried to get through this but I reached a point in this book where I just wasn’t having fun, I wasn’t enjoying the characters and I had to quit.
This is in fact a DNF for me.
There was so much going on, a mixture of tropes thrown in that had my head whirling and I think I could have gone further with this book if it weren’t for the fact that the main guy was absolutely obsessed with a woman who isn’t the heroine of the book.
I just read chapters of him being in love with his childhood friend (who is not the heroine mind you), who ended up with his older brother, who has a child with him… but he’s still in love with her. Then I reach a flashback where he and his childhood friend actually sleep together and have a night of lustful passion only for her to regret it the next day and get engaged to the older brother… mind you this is a flashback and this is me knowing they still hang out in PRESENT day??? But in present day she’s married to some OTHER guy? It’s just…. And all of this is happening but then like a chapter later he’s getting turned on by the neighbor (who is the main lead of this book) ????
I just… no. I’m sorry. This doesn’t work for me.

A beautiful journey was this book where my heart belonged to Carter right from the very beginning.
A man who knew how to love selflessly, how to let go when that love wasn’t returned. Yet the one who had the courage to open his heart when hints of it came knocking at his door. But was April right for him?
In the beginning, I didn’t think so. They might have had intense chemistry, were they two parts of a whole? Not initially. That magic happened as the pages unfurled, and she grew on me, wrapping the tendrils of her warmth around my heart.
Surely and steadily through the power of author Emmanuelle Snow’s writing and careful etching of both their characters, I could see how they complemented each other. Yin and yang they developed into, knowing when to hold on and when to hold tight.
The book embodied emotions, each word chosen showed me their feelings. You could say author Emmanuelle laid her heart bare while putting her characters through the wringer. Their love was messy with bagful of angst.
Their past was carefully laid out, paving the way for the future. The story held me enthralled, though many a time I wanted to tell April to rise up to the challenge. But I could understand her stance too as I am not bold in love.
The book was so powerful that it triggered my imagination many a time where April was knocked out and I was in Carter’s arms doing the nasty. Maybe I should just end my review here, instead of revealing how hot and sexy he was in detail. After all this is a family website … Just saying.
A roller coaster ride this book was, where all I could do was read every word and feel those beautiful shades of colors that love brought with it. Kudos to author Emmanuelle Snow. A banging debut!! (pun intended😂)
I want to thank @snowemmanuelle and @netgalley for the eARC of Book 1.
𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
~ A New Adult book for any Romance and SMUT 😉 lovers. (18+)
~ Honestly, I loved this book from the start to finish. It had me laughing out loud to feeling giddy and happy to feeling heartbreak and heart-wrenching sadness all laced with spice (Gawd I wanna Carter in my life) the steam 🥵🥵🌶🌶
~ OMG, this book was amazing (Didn't I say that already?)! Loved the author's style of writing and even though it was a lengthy book it was soo fast-paced and I was caught up I didn't feel the time going reading this.
~ I loved all the characters, April (a best-selling author) and Carter (a country music king), and even the side characters they all had an important part to play. And you can't help but bond with each and every one of them.
~ April and Carter Oh My Word! The romance, the spice, the suspense and even the storyline OMG had me hot and hammered.
~ And there were heart-wrenching scenes where oh my I felt the pain they were feeling.
~ And yet it was a beautifully written book about love and hardships, of fame and spotlight, and most of all it was about family!
~ Read the two Novellas Carter: Men & Country (Book 0.1) and Reed: Men & Country (Book 0.5) and loved them soo much too. It rounds up everything by knowing the past of each character.
~ Definitely, I am now a HUGE fan of Emmanuelle Snow!!! And guess what? The author has bonus chapters for all her books. OMW amazing!
𝗠𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸? Yes, Yes, Yes! Soo Hot!
I read this along with my blog co-author and best friend, Chelsea, as Emmanuelle reached out to us and requested a review (which we were super excited about after reading the blurb!). We both enjoyed the book very much but I definitely seemed to love it just a little more than Chelsea did. Something that I thought was so cute and brought humor and light to the story (mostly how Carter could not stick to just one nickname for April towards the beginning of the story), Chelsea felt took away from the story, and was even distracting. We both felt that many times it felt like the story was coming to its happily ever after ending, but then we would look at how much is left in the book and realized it was not close to an ending yet, so a shoe just had to drop somewhere!
We loved seeing the very realistic portrayal of anxiety and depression that we experienced mainly with Carter but saw signs of with April. Carter has been dealing with panic attacks and depressive episodes since the death of his brother Jeff six years ago. At that same time, Carter's closest friend and bandmate, Dahlia, chose to leave the spotlight and band behind for a quieter life away from the glam and stardom. These incidences triggered his anxiety attacks, his feelings of loneliness and never being good enough for those he loved to stick around. When these episodes occur, he isolates himself, cant get out of his head, and drains himself physically and mentally just to try and shut his brain off and get a few hours of rest. His friends try to support him the best way they can, but when he falls into these episodes, he runs away to a house that not a single other person knows about, and hides out until it passes. It is not until April decides to leave because she feels ghosted by Carter, that he starts to understand the toll these episodes take on him, and how they affect him and the relationships around him. One line that really sticks out regarding his anxiety is "It's okay to be scared. Just don't be scared alone."
One thing we thoroughly loved from this story... can someone please write us a beautiful love song?!? *swoons* And then perform that song in a stadium full of fans, with love, desire, and happiness just beaming out of them as they sing the lyrics? Holy cow! We loved the song Carter wrote about April.. and the fact that he wrote it early on in their friendship/relationship when still just learning and getting to know one another is beautiful.
There were also a few other lines that stuck out to us. One is in the beginning of the book, when April his talking to her cat, Bernice, during one of her times trying to break through her writer's block. "Hey, girl, can you do that later? I need some encouragement here; don't you see I'm struggling?" We don't know about y'all, but we definitely talk to our animals like this too! Can't they tell we need their undivided attention and support!? (Sarcasm, but not really lol). Also, what is it about owning an animal, and being able to tell them your thoughts and feelings, that is so comforting and helps lessen the anxiety?
Overall, I gave Pink & Country a 4 star review, and Chelsea gave it a 3 1/2 star review. We both definitely suggest checking out this book (and the amazing new covers coming out soon)! And again, we're so excited and grateful that Emmanuelle reached out to us to ask us to review this book, and we can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Pink and Country by Emmanuelle Snow is a bit outside of my reading preferences, but something about this one was calling me to read…and I’m so glad I did. What a beautiful book.
I needed to read this because I needed to smile. This book hit me in the feels, and I honestly read it in one sitting. A romance between a country music star and a bestselling author? Swoon.
While the attraction happens pretty quickly, I love the way the author builds this romance. There is nothing better than watching two characters develop from friendship to love. It gave me such a happy feeling. If you couldn’t tell, I’m a bit obsessed.
I loved Pink and Country. I can’t really give you anything negative because I loved every minute of it. I look forward to more from this author and highly recommend giving this a go.
Thank you to Digital Reads Blog Tours for the opportunity to join this blog tour. I recieved a free copy of this book to review honestly. All opinions are my own and unbiased.

Pink and Country is such a sweet, passionate and beautiful love story. I truly enjoyed it a lot.
The book is about Carter. He is a famous country musician. And just got out of a nasty relationship with Savannah Price. She publicly is playing the victim. Carter retreats to his cabin to get some peace and quiet. And to connect with Dahlia and Jack again.
April is a famous author who has trouble writing the third book in her series. Her best friend Saunders, who rents out fancy places, contacts her that someone cancelled their vacation and that April is able to go there for a month for free. In the hope it helps her get out of her writing slump.
The cabin she rents is on the property of Carter and that is how the two of them meet! I absolutely loved their first encounter and how the two of them connect and deepen their feelings for each other.
The book isn't only about their love story. It is also about Carter who needs to heal his heart with everything that happened in the past. The same goes for April, she too is damaged by things that she went through. I love how important their individual journey's are in this book. But also how important growing together is.
This story is sweet, kind, open, honest and beautiful to read. It contains no cheating and other horrible stuff. It truly is a wonderful journey.
I truly enjoyed this book immensely. But one thing bothered me a little bit. The book is written from a dual point of view. Sometimes the chapters overlapped each other, which resulted in a new chapter to be written slightly in the past. It was a little confusing at times. I wish it was all written in the past tense. And maybe a silly thing. But in the first half of the book April's cat has a presence. And I absolutely adored her. But near the end of the book she isn't in it anymore. I wish that she was still there in there near the end and in the time skip.
But overall a fantastic read! 4 big stars from me!
Well, now I can say that I understand why everyone seems so obsessed with Carter... I mean, how could you not?
This story is amazing! What a trip! It has been hard to close the book, I wasn't ready to let go of Carter, April and the emotions that their relationship brought me (hope, tears, love)!
"Pink and Country" made me dream: it’s a story that I've read all in one breath and now that I've finished it I'm in an hungover!
Green Mountain is a paradise where I would definitely love to live!
And to answer the question Emmanuelle asked on one of her posts: I can't choose! I'm too attached to both Carter and Nick!
Thank you Emmanuelle for this amazing book! You made my day!
"Pink and Country" is waiting for you! Who's ready to jump on board?
After reading the blurb, I was quite excited to read this book. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. I found the way Carter spoke to April was quite misogynistic, calling her “woman” just gave me the ick. The range of nicknames just put me off too. I really appreciate the author for reaching out and providing me with a copy of the novel in exchange for an honest review. I really wish I could’ve liked this book.
Oh, my goodness! This book! It has become a favorite of mine and will probably pop up into my head for a very long time!
First of all, a huge thank you to the wonderful @snowemmanuelle and Shalini from @bookstarcreviews for providing me with this arc!
I most certainly do not want to spoil anything, but I will share what has won me over when it comes to this book:
1. The right amount of angsty and spicy scenes
I love romance, but I tend to avoid the 100% fluff and love and rainbows. I do like for there to be a deeper, darker underline to the plot. And Emmanuelle certainly does not disappoint! We have a complex male protagonist, with a heavy background and a lot of emotional baggage. We have a female protagonist in pursuit of finding herself. The angst doesn't border disturbing, just as the romance doesn't border the unobtainable fairytale vibe. Simply perfect!
2. Slow burn romance
I, for one, skip the "love at first sight" romances in favor for more realistic slow burns. And this book delivers! The chemistry between the main characters is so tangible and passionate, yet reaching that level has not occurred overnight. You experience the characters' struggle, you taste each teasing and flirtation. Their bond is so tastefully written that I honestly became jealous!
3. Believable character personalities
I simply love how the author portrayed Carter and April! They are well defined, with a troubled past, but willing to overcome their hardships in their own way. I have not once stopped to wonder "Is this really a plausible action for this character to take?" or "Isn't this a little out of character?" Of course, I am aware that the author knows the characters best, but I am sure I am not the only one who is a little disappointed when the characters are portrayed in a certain way and then they do something completely dull and inconsistent. That is not the case here! The characters' personalities are consistent, despite the growth you see them experience. So grateful for that!
I honestly could go on and on, but I choose to leave you with this: reading this book has offered me a chance to embark on a rollercoaster of a journey: it has romance, witty banter, psychological depth, angsty underlining, true soulmates trope, opposites attract trope. I cannot believe I have not read books by Emmanuelle Snow until now but I am determined to binge read all her works!
I devoured this book from page one to the end, and it is a great story—a slow burn of two lives that have baggage from their pasts. Carter needs to lay low. As a country music star, everyone wants a piece of him, and he is headline news due to his latest “Love Interest.” Are the stories true, though?
April gets to take advantage of a vacant cabin her best friend has a cancellation for. It is paid up for a month! In need of a change of scenery, April accepts the offer. But, will a visit to Green Mountain change her life?
In a well written story with banter and nick names a plenty, heat and chemistry, with a game of Monopoly that will stick with you. However, there are some hurdles to get past. Will they make or break this couple? The secondary characters are essential to the story, and I hope we meet them in their books.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the advanced copy: this is my voluntary review.
Firstly, thank you to Emmanuelle Snow for sending me this book 🤍
I’ll just start off by saying I loved this book!! Carter and April’s chemistry was so so undeniable. The two of them were written so well and the way their relationship blossomed throughout them book showed so much development in them both not only as individuals but also as a couple. It was so beautiful to watch their love grow.
The soulmates trope was so well written and didn’t erase any of the actual issues that the couple faced throughout the book. Unfortunately, love doesn’t always solve everything and the way that they resolved their issues just shows their strength as a pair and made their story so much more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a good romance book - and especially if you like soulmates - this book should be on your TBR!
If you enjoy romance novels and the “normal girl meets super star” trope, you’ll love this one. I received a copy of Pink & Country via BookSirens, and I wasn’t disappointed. The story follows April, a spunky pink haired writer, and Carter, a super hot country star. Their story is sexy, fun, and will put you through emotional hell periodically. This book would be a solid match for fans of @annatodd’s After series. I found myself rooting for the characters throughout the novel, and I didn’t want to put the my Kindle down. My only complaint was a the frequent references to genitals and use of names while speaking; it’s possible this only bothered me though because people don’t speak that way where I live. The book was pretty solid otherwise.
PSA- This story contains detailed depictions of mental health problems, and explicit sexual content 🚩
I enjoyed the storyline and the characters (I freaking loved Taylor and Saunders so much).
Unfortunately due to the length of the book, I occasionally lost interest and had to put it down, which is why it took me so long to finish it. BUT, the ending was so cute and I loved the epilogue!! I had to know how Carter and April would overcome everything, and how it would end up!
There were many enjoyable moments and this book and it definitely melted my heart!
This book blew me away. I was hooked from page one! The story of Carter and April has everything you want in a romance book. The banter when they first meet. The thick sexual tension that you're waiting to explode. Spicy spicy scenes when it finally happens. And a happily ever after.
The story tugged at my heart. They both came from heartbreaking pasts that shaped the way they saw themselves. Two people who thought they didn't deserve love, find it in each other. Chapter 32 broke my heart and it will break yours too.
This is a great read, detailed chapters and a fabulous storyline. I highly recommend it.
I received this book as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) by the author and I am so thankful she reached out! I enjoyed the first half of the book A LOTT; I liked the main characters, the nicknames, the conflict (it actually had meaning), and the dual pov! I did rate it a star lower though because of the REALLYYY high spice level and the third act breakup scene woops🫢 This is just my preference though! I still enjoyed the author's writing style and would def recommend it if you enjoy a spicy country romance!
DAAAMN. This author can write! I mean, wow. It is not often i enjoy musician angsty romance books. But this blew me out of the park. It was so beautifully, fluffy, sweet and with the right amount of angst and smut. The characters were just right, Carter - what a man; He worked through his life, his trauma and demons and did not let them define him. He was written so well, not over-the-top annoying and boring. April got on my nerve sometimes, but she redeemed herself pretty quickly. Plus, the others were funny too! I look forward to read this author`s next books!
Pink and Country really did make my world pink while I’m reading it. 😍
When I picked up this book, I told myself I’ll just read half because I really have no time to indulge myself with books right now. I’m too busy and too anxious to enjoy a book in one sitting. But about five chapters in the book, I knew I will finish it in one sitting. I was so immersed in the story. The setting is one of the reasons why, of course, but the main characters are what really made the story very engaging.
Pink and Country features two amazing characters – April and Carter – and their second chance at love. They both experienced love with other people before but didn’t go well. I love everything about April and Carter’s love story, right from their first meeting, or rather their first sight of each other. It was both cute and hilarious, just unfortunate for April. Really, poor April. 😂
Then when they officially met, I was thrown into a crazy ride of emotions I didn’t expect I would be. Very early in the story their attraction is very obvious. The sexual tension is too strong, I felt so giddy and excited waiting for that specific scene where they will be forced to stay together for a night maybe and they would eventually give in to temptation. Let’s be real here, this stuff always happens in this kind of stories and yet we never tire of reading reading it.
But then this book, freaking April and Carter surprised me by handling their sexual attraction differently. At some point, the sexual tension turns wholesome. I never thought sexual tension could be wholesome but April and Carter made it possible.
The sexual tension is still there and gets stronger everyday but then they became sort of friends. And also, I think, it’s because they both know inside that they’re not ready to give in to their attraction because of their pasts.
I think the author gave them both great back stories that shaped their present selves. Their back stories made them more compelling and relatable characters. Especially April’s. It’s hard what she went through.
Despite their pasts, April and Carter are still fun characters. I love their banters in the beginning and then their friendship. I love their nicknames for each other. Carter is so sweet, I want him for myself, to be honest. I mean who wouldn’t want a guy who writes songs for you and so sweet and hot at the same time. But I also love April so much that she can have Carter. 😅 April has pink hair and is just so funny and overall vibrant. Lol. I don’t think I’ve ever described someone vibrant.
Could someone die from horniness?
– April ( Pink and Country, Emmanuelle Snow, 2021) If I were April being tortured by Carter’s hotness and sweetness, I’d ask the same thing. ☺
I think the progression of the story or April and Carter’s romance is in the right pace. Nothing is forced or rushed. Everything happened in the right moment. Even their pasts were handled well and tackled in the perfect time in their relationship. I also liked how the author handled Carter’s fame as a factor in the romance. There was drama, of course, but just the right amount.
My only issue, a very little one, is that the first few chapters are a bit slow. I even thought that the first chapter is too long for an intro, too long to talk about insomnia. It even seemed like info-dumping. But after that first chapter, everything is amazing.
Small town romances is one of my favorite tropes and Pink and Country is a perfect example of this trope even though the story didn’t stay in the small town. This is a very sweet, heartwarming, hot love story. So basically, it’s everything you want in a romance novel.
This book had so much heat and sizzle that I am surprised my kindle didn't melt. This is not normally my type of read, but beyond the physical relationship that Carter and April have, there is a lovely and compassionate story. Both of these characters have a lot of baggage and insecurities. Now you wouldn't necessarily think a huge celebrity, country music star would be insecure, but Carter sure was. He had many sad and negative situations in his past where he felt rejection and he was afraid to love anyone again. April is an accomplished author, who writes under a pen name. She had also felt rejection when she was younger and another painful situation a few years earlier had her quite happy being single and alone with her cat. When they meet at a cabin on top of Green Mountain, they both have an immediate physical attraction, but as they get to know one another they learn more about their lives and begin to fall in love. I really enjoyed the banter between HN and Bubble Gum as they called one another. Unfortunately, there were secrets kept and when they come out, you know there will be some consequences. I really liked both their characters and I wanted them to get together, but there were things they had to deal with first.
There is a lot to like about this novel. The characters, their best friends and family all added much to the story. There was a lot of angst and a lot of physical, steamy loving. Some of the themes in the story include: letting go of your past and moving on, faith to trust another person with the real you, how life in the limelight and paparazzi can ruin a life, what privacy can a celebrity expect, truth and lies in the media, and being honest with yourself and those you care about to develop an honest relationship. I am going to end this review with a question: Do you believe in soulmates? Pick up a copy of Pink and Country to read how these two soulmates come together. I received a copy of this book upon request. The rating and opinions shared are my own.
Thank you @snowemmanuelle for sharing an ARC e-copy of her first book in her Carter Hills Band series with me for my honest review!
This story is focused around Carter and April. April is the Sunshine person and Carter is the Grumpy person. The story starts off strong with introducing the characters in a slump. April is an author who is struggling to meet her deadline for her new book. Her best friend gives her the best way to be alone and get into a mindset to hopefully finish the book by her deadline.
In comes Carter, the country music star, who just so happens to own the place and also, a place right next to where April will be staying. He has had it with the fame that comes with being able to share his creativity through his music. He decides he needs to take a step back and not let the media get to him.
These 2 characters collide in a whirlwind adventure of coming to terms with their pasts. Each person hides behind a mask that they need to share the other. They're instant attraction is fought by each other because April and Carter don't want a relationship. Until one of them realizes that a relationship is exactly what they are in. But can real life let these two wounded soulmates stay together?
Read it to find out!
My only downside to this book is the way each POV is written along with how the past is presented. There are times that I didn't think the POV of one character should go back to express their POV about a scene I just read in the other characters POV. That's the only reason why I took off a .5 star.
Thank you to Emmanuelle Snow for sending me a digital copy of her work. I wish I had a better opinion of your book.
I was excited for this book, the blurb sounded great and right up my ally, however I’m quite sad this was just not a book for me.
I hated Carter the moment we started reading his pov. WHAT AN ASSHOLE! He’s disgusting, doesn’t respect anyone and his story with Daliah is just a HUGE NO for me. I’m over and far gone with the whole hot celebrity jerk love interest, I don’t need that shit anymore. I don’t want to read fictional men who think of all women like a piece of meat they can play with as they please, if I wanted that I’ll just go for real ones. The other thing that kept me from continuing the book were the nicknames. JESUS. FUCKING. CHRIST. just end this suffering, hell’s a better place to be at this point. They NEVER. N E V E R. Used their names 😭 I wanted to cry whenever they thought if each others as fairy girl, hot girl, handsome neighbour, bubble head, pink girl, sexy girl. KILL ME, JUST KILL ME. It was too much, it got annoying and ridiculous. And there were other things as the fmc using the word girl in EVERY sentence she spoke, the RIDICULOUS first sexual scene or how idiotic both characters were. I mean, I’m not asking for a masterpiece, but damn this book annoyed me.
I cannot talk about the whole book or story, cause I’m definitely not finishing it, so this is not really a review it’s just a list of reasons why I dnf the book. Dnf: 20%
Give me all the angst. I just love it when I try a new to me author and it ends up being a great choice.
Carter and his fairy aka April have both troubled pasts that keep standing in their way to find peace. When they meet sparks fly and soon the relationship becomes all consuming. They have to fight their demons as well as people standing in their way. But love is to great of a chance to turn it down second time around and I absolutely loved how they ended up with the HEA that was waaaaay overdue.
This is book one in the series and I'm definitely coming back to see what happens next.

first impression; bruh, the storyline seems okay so far, but HOLY HELL, when the FMC and the MMC are getting to know each other, their internal monologue refers to the other with a different nickname in EVERY SINGLE GODDAMED line. That is so irksome. jaysus.
There's fairy, fairy girl, gorgeous woman, then hot girl, angry girl, pink girl, pixie, hungry woman, bubble gum, pink hair, dirty mind, sexy neighbor, pink goddess. IT NEVER FKN ENDS. LORD make it STOP.
it is because of this that i will be DNFing at 25%.
I read this along with my blog co-author and best friend, Kelli, as Emmanuelle reached out to us and requested a review (which we were super excited about after reading the blurb!). We both enjoyed the book very much but Kelli seemed to love it just a little more than I did. A few things that I felt took away from the story (mainly how Carter cannot choose one nickname for April - this was distracting to me), Kelli thought were so cute and brought humor to it. We both felt that many times it felt like the story was coming to its happily ever after ending, but then we would look at how much is left in the book and realized it was not close to an ending yet, so a shoe just had to drop somewhere!
We also loved the very realistic portrayal of anxiety and depression. Carter has dealt with panic attacks and depressive episodes since his brother passed away six years ago. He isolates himself, can't get out of his head, and drains himself physically and mentally just to try and get a few hours of rest. His friends try to support him the best they can, but when he falls into these episodes, he runs away to a house nobody knows he owns and hides out until it passes. It's not until April decides to leave because she feels that he's ghosted her, that he starts to better understand how these episodes are affecting him and his relationships. I (Chelsea) highlighted one line that really stuck out to me regarding Carter's anxiety and depression. "It's okay to be scared. Just don't be scared alone."
Overall, Kelli gave Pink and Country a 4 star review, and I gave the book a 3 1/2 star review. We both definitely suggest checking out this book (and the amazing new covers coming out soon)! And again, we're so excited and grateful that Emmanuelle reached out to us to ask us to review this book, and we can't wait to read the rest of the series!
In ‘Pink and Country’ we meet April. April is a struggling author who has a bad case of writers block. So when her best friend offers her a stay in a luxurious cabin in the mountains, she decides she has nothing to lose. The cabin is hers for a month, and it’s better than she could have imagined. Except for the moody and handsome owner of the cabin. Carter is frustrating as hell, but also really handsome. Soon April and Carter spend more and more time together. But when April accidentally finds out Carter is the famous country music star Carter Hills, she wonders how she didn’t notice it before, and what more is he hiding? But their growing attraction is hard to deny, and they grow closer each day.
From the moment I started reading ‘Pink and Country’, I was honestly hooked. I loved the two main characters April and Carter. April is this fun, pink haired writer who I honestly love to have as a friend. She just felt really real to me. And I loved getting to know her. Carter was this troubled, handsome and cocky country singer (I looooove country music!!), with a dark secret. The chemistry between these two characters was amazing and I loved reading their story.
The chemistry, the romance, the setting.. I loved it all in this book. The one thing I didn’t like as much was that the author went back in time almost every time we got to read the other POV. At first it confused me, and after a while I just kept wondering why we moved back every time? It made this book a bit slow at times to be honest. And definitely also a bit confusing.
But with the exception of this POV part, I really loved this book. I loved all the emotions, the storylines and the connection between the two main characters. I was rooting for them from the start, and I loved reading their story. And most of all this book made me want to read more books by this author. There are plenty of side characters I’d love to read more about.
‘Pink and Country’ was a hot, romantic and fun read I couldn’t put down. And if you like romance and music this book is definitely for you.

Seriously?!?! How the hell have I not heard of Emmanuelle Snow??
Pink and Country hooked me from the first pages and I couldn't let go!
So readers beware: Once you start this one, there will be no putting it down! I stayed up way past my bedtime just to finish!
There is nothing better than a well written story about a second chance and add in a hot country music star, slow burn chemistry 🔥🌶, and an emotional back story, you get a wonderful 5 star read!
I am so impressed with Emmanuelle. Her writing is so fluid and beautiful and she knows how to tell a story. This is my first book by her so I had no clue. Better late than never. And I’m so glad I did. Pink and Country did not disappoint.
I loved April and Carter together. It was amazing the type of connection they were able to develop throughout the book. They had a tough road ahead of them. There were a lot of past issues that they had to overcome, a lot of heart ache and unanswered questions. It took a while for them to truly reconnect, but let me tell you- it’s worth the wait. It was believable and beautiful. I feel sometimes in life you are meant to meet certain people. These two were destined to be together.❤
This story captivated me from the start. I got lost while reading and had trouble putting it down. The characters, the story, the romance, the self discovery. I loved it all.
If you have not read this book, you truly must. This is one of those books that will just make you feel everything. One you won’t forget.
