This one is so hard to rate. Most of it is Larry Hama taking Wolverine from the aftermath of Magneto pulling the metal off his bones, to a wild road trip through Canada and Muir Island, with explosions and car chases and Cyber and Bloodscream and Alpha Flight and Excalibur and the Phalanx Covenant crossover with Cable and Cyclops and Phoenix. Five stars. But the last section is three unreadable graphic novels, a parody of the 90s values of cool over coherent. It hurt my brain even skimming those. So the best I can give is four stars.

The Larry Hama stories following Wolverine as he deals with the loss of his adamantium skeleton and his waning healing factor while trying to tie up personal loose ends are overall pretty good. They make up the bulk for this book. The standalone comics in contrast are poorly written and poorly executed. Too bad.
