Amazon #1 Best-Selling Author, Ellen Joy, delivers a heart-warming redemption story with a fresh start. Check out the next story in this captivating series that has her fans begging for more.
Sonja finally found the courage to leave her toxic relationship. But she doesn’t just want to get away from him, she wants to get away from all of it. Now in her fifties, she doesn’t like who she’s become, so she escapes to a lakeside cabin in the mountains to find some solitude and rediscover herself.
After a rocky start with the town’s police chief, Sonja finds comfort in sharing her troubles with the kind and handsome local. With the chief’s help, she feels reborn and ready to return to Cliffside Point. But when she finally gets home to begin her fresh start, she realizes that there’s something missing from her happily-ever-after.
Ellen lives in a small town in New England, between the Atlantic Ocean and the White Mountains. She lives with her husband, two sons, and one very spoiled puppy princess.
Ellen writes in the early morning hours before her family wakes up. When she's not writing, you can find her spending time with her family, gardening with her puppy and chickens, or headed to the beach. She loves summer and flip-flops, running on a dirt country road, and a sweet love song.
All of her stories are clean romances where families are close, neighbors are nosy, and the couples are destined for each other.

I absolutely LOVED "Lakeside Lighthouse" by Ellen Joy. It's somewhat hard for me to put into words how this book made me feel. It goes without saying that I'm a complete superfan of this author - so I'm probably biased, but this series just keeps getting better with each book. That being said, this book touched me in a way that no other has - there were many parts of the story that hit very close to my heart - elements of Harper's relationship with her mom and Sonja feeling invisible that left me me changed and feeling less alone. When Harper opens the door to Evelyn who embraced her in a much-needed hug - I had to put the book down until the ugly crying subsided. This heartwarming story of redemption was so well written that I know this will be a book that I read over and over when I need to feel hopeful. I was so distraught when I finished it thinking that this was the end of the series - but never fear, there is at least one more book planned and I know that I cannot wait to read what comes next for this amazing cast of characters. This book is going on my favorites shelf in my book collection and is well worth a read! Happy Reading...enjoy!
I was so excited when I received an email from Ellen with the newest addition to the Cliffside series, and so disappointed that the book is finished and have to wait for the next one. Money can buy whatever we need and want, but not emotional happiness. So great to read about the extended friends and families, this time it was Sonja, the mother of Andrew and Lilah. So many of the other characters were in this story as well, which is awesome to read what’s happening in their lives as they’ve become family. Ellen’s books are real and makes me want to be a part of the circle of friends and family. Get this book, you won’t be disappointed. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
another 5 star read. In this one Sonja Whitmore decides she's had enough of her husband's womanizing ways and sends him a text stating she wants a divorce. Then she takes off to a remote location in the snowy New Hampshire mountains to get away from it all.
I liked this because of Sonja's growth as a person. After spending 30 years of her life trying to be the best wife and hostess in Martha's Vineyard, she leaves and sets out on a journey of self discovery. She finds herself and more in this lovely tale.
In a secondary tale Harper does some growing up and realizes some things about herself as well.
I really liked this book a lot. It is funny because Sonja was not a character that I liked until I read this book. I was so proud of her and the changes she made in her life. It seemed that her leaving for New Hampshire helped her reflect on her life. I really liked that she chose happiness and that she became stronger and found her new self. That led to a better relationship with her family and her new friends. I found the ending of the book to be quite interesting. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I absolutely love this series. It touches on "older" women, their life changes and the possibility, that there are always options no matter one's age. It also is about younger people, their family, and finding one's self. All things are possible with insight, friends and family. And, unconditional love that's there if you open yourself to it.. Highly recommend all books by this author. Can't wait for book seven!
When you start to love Sonja and not like Harper you know this series has taken a turn. I disliked Sonja from day one and on the fence about Harper now all things have changed. Sonja is someone you would like to call a friend where Harper has too many issues to handle. Ms. Joy sends you up and down the emotion scale with this one. Glad to see how it turned out.Enjoy!
Getting to know Sonja was interesting, she has had her reasons for being a stuck up snob. Reading about the change that she goes through and how it affects other people was almost heartwarming. It is always entertaining reading about the wonderful women at Cliffside Point. I enjoyed this story, the romance and the new characters.
Somewhat of a soap opera of peoples lives. It made me cry and left me smiling in the end. Very endearing the way Sonja’s family came together after years of regret. This story did not disappoint me.
Love the author, the books and the characters. Ellen Joy knows how to make hover characters come alive. You want to be their friend and live in their community. She writes a love story without all the unnecessary sex. Can't wait to read more.
I have loved this whole series but this one was exceptional. I am so glad she finally did something for herself and the twins. I guess my love of lighthouses is even more so now.
Such a Happy outcome for everyone so far, I absolutely thought this story was amazing and wonderful!!!! The “friends” are adding new friends and the group is getting larger!!!!
I've enjoyed reading this series looking forward to more from these characters. Getting ready to download the next adventure.. thank you for writing these stories
