From an early age, Nia knew she wanted to be a writer and actively began chasing that dream when she was a teenager.
Nia writes interracial romance and contemporary romance with guaranteed happy endings. She loves strong heroines and swoon-worthy heroes, and just enough spice and drama to keep things interesting!
Look for the Taming Series (Taming Mr. Jerkface, Taming Mr. Charming, Taming Mr. Know-It-All, and Taming Mr. Darcy) in ebook format.

This is one of my favourite tropes in books (once married couples with a secret child finding out that they have a child and reconciling in the future, so it was disheartening that I had to give this 3 stars. Especially for Nia Arthur's book (I love her books). However, though I enjoyed this book, it felt like it dragged on for too long offering nothing new and I hate when a book becomes repetitive. Just have the MCs declare their love for each other and move on. Admittedly, I started to get bored in this book and started skimming the pages wanting to get to the end. If I'm being honest, I didn't miss anything but skimming because it was all (as I said) repetitive anyways.
Things I did enjoy though were the anecdotes from Doc, Hazel, who was the best part of this book. I suppose I also enjoyed Somi. She was a smart 9 year old and I enjoyed her interactions with the adults and how she was able to put the pieces together and figure out who Lee was to her.
What I did not enjoy was the fact that Lee missing 9 years of Somi's life was just glossed over. The way Lee was described as being super family-oriented and heavily invested in his family made this kind of unrealistic that he wouldn't want to immediately let Somi know she was his daughter and be in her life without going at the snail pace Chloe had them going, which, for the record, was incredibly selfish on her part.
Another thing that didn't sit well with me was that Lee still didn't choose Chloe over his family. They decided for him. They walked away, he didn't choose her over them and it just makes the final scene between him and Chloe feels so unearned. He has an entire daughter to think about now and he couldn't even stand up for her. DESPITE the altercation his father caused outside of Chloe's flat. He says he's going to stand up for her and have her back, but let's be honest here, if his parents didn't leave, he would still have them in his house and CONTINUE to tiptoe to see Chloe and Somi. This relationship definitely wasn't earned by Lee.
she got on my nerves with the whole "MY kid" this and "MY kid" that to the father of the kid she hid for a decade. his AND her parents were fucked up but she didnt stand up for herself either. she shoulda got the mom back the way dad got her.
and after circling the drain for a quarter of the book there was no real resolution to the story.
It’s difficult to love when your heart’s been broken, to trust when you’ve been betrayed, or to try again when you’ve failed so catastrophically.
This is a bittersweet love story about about a divorced couple coming to terms with their past mistakes and rebuilding their relationship even while external forces threaten to keep them apart.
These two had so much more to overcome then simple in La meddling. An entire culture, in entire lifetime of beliefs of not dishonoring your parents. Thank God for Doc. He knew that when you take a wife you leave behind your mother and your father, and you cleave to her. For Lee to be able to do that showed amazing maturity, growth, and a deep and abiding love that most people never get to experience. 10 years is a lot of time to mature but some people still don't acknowledge the mistakes that they made 10 years ago. Lee was more than willing to acknowledge the mistakes he made in bringing Chloe into his family in the manner that he did. His patience, his love, and his maturity as well as his ability to accept correction from Doc, really from the developer of the manual proved to be the Saving Grace and saving his family. I simply love Doc, but this book I think this is my favorite in the series so far. Well, maybe I shouldn't speak so hastily before Hazel and Graham's book comes out.
Like the story before this one, I am fighting my own emotions and beliefs about how each person's feelings are evaluated. Yeah, our guys need to embrace life, family decisions, and responsibilities in grand scopes when caring for a wife, a family. But some of the decisions these women are making leave much to be desired. I understand Chloe's position, 100%, but the way Lee (the amount of time!) paid for his part in the failed marriage was criminal. Especially when you get clear evidence from the author that he was a really good dude. His behavior in Book 3, as well as this story shows him as the most loving person. Not at all deserving of some of the treatment. So, I'm not entirely excited about these last 2 stories, but the writing in "Choose Me" was good. I'm just hoping this next one, the final of the series, I don't know, but I need for it to be worth my time. I love the stories about mixed raced love, so, my fingers are crossed.
Another great Loved Repair story This one featured Chloe and Lee who were married and divorced ten years ago Lee being Asian and Chloe African-American Chloe left the marriage with a secret that she never shared with Lee which was a child Chloe leaving had a lot to do with Less parents disapproval of his marriage to her and how they made her feel and his inability to stand up for her Ten years later fate brings them together and he finds out about the daughter he never knew he had The story takes off from there on how Lee has to win Chloe trust and love back, Turn his back on traditional Chinese culture to make his daughter and Chloe a priority even before his business Chloe friend Hazel was there for her while struggling with issue in her own life At the end the love Lee and Chloe with the wisdom of Doc helped them overcome And Some their daughter was so cute and brilliant got her parents together Great story Looking forward to reading Hazel's story
I didn't know what to expect from this story. I have read another work by Ms. Arthurs and loved it. I wasn't in love with Chloe and Lee. I felt sorry for them almost. They lost each other in trying to satisfy others. Youth played a large role in their initial failure, as well as lack of communication. Yet, they had loads of chemistry and sparks, which encouraged them to try again.
My favorite character is and will always be "DOC". He is simply amazing with his car analogies. He is easy to talk to, wise beyond words, and always helps. He gives his clients what they need to figure it out on their own.
Aunt Hazel should have been put in her place more times than not. She cast her ill feelings towards her husband onto Chloe. Chloe needed support, not judgment. I felt like Hazel was judging her.
I recommend you read it for yourself. Happy Reading!
WOW I really enjoy reading this series! They are all awesome stories and this one is definitely one of the best it's so enjoyable and is such a fantastic addition to this series along with these awesome characters, the couples always have such great chemistry and this one is so exciting, with such thrilling, sweet magical passion, you will smile and laugh out loud at their antics.Plus the secondary characters are such a delight and such fun to read, I have read two other books in this series they are awesome too, of course I didn't read them in order and that's what makes them great. I'm always excited about reading the next book in this series because I know it will be another five star read. There is only one little problem I have and that is I always want the story to be longer HAHAHA! XOXO XOXO!
Without a doubt this was one of my favorite to have read. Lee had such a good thing with Chloe but allowed his parents to ruin his relationship and marriage sending his wife packing and never looking back. But who could blame her after the mistreatment and abuse caused by his parents. And he wasn't there to protect her. Apparently they both thought after all those years they would never see each other again. But if not for Somi it probably wouldn't have happened any time soon! This was such a great read with all the drama still regarding his parents sometimes you just have to know where your priorities are and choose correctly. I just love Doc and his advice always so helpful but only if a person is willing to listen and talk it! On to the next book!
I just can’t get enough of these books and Doc’s advice. Chloe and Lee divorced and he really didn’t know the reason why until he asked. His father slapped Chloe when she was arguing with Lee’s mother and Chloe packed and left, with Lee not knowing the secret that Chloe was hiding. When Lee found out about about Somi, he went to Doc for help in getting his wife and child back. His parents, his controlling father especially, stood between the woman and daughter he loved. He stood up to his father outside of Chloe’s house. His father and mother were gone in no time but the mother wanted Chloe to know that she was willing to acknowledge her and she wanted to meet her granddaughter, Somi. In the end Lee is proposing to remarry his wife.
I had not read anything by this author is a while, was looking for something to read and I came across this. Glad I did. First of all I must say I love Doc the mechanic. His wisdom and advice is awesome. Now!!! Lee a music agent had losted the love of his life because of his traditional Asian families racism. 10 years later he run into Chloe and he realizes that he still love her. He has another chance but he has to work for it. Will he choose her or will he choose his family again. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏, looking forward to Hazel's story since we share the same first name 😉😉😉😉
What can I say about LEE! SMART, SEXY & SMOOTH! I really liked LEE & CHLOE. They were two people who loved and Married young but never had the chance to grow with each other. LEE was torn between being a good husband or being a good son. He had to lose his love in order to become a better man. CHLOE had to grow up fast because being a young mother will make a woman grow up quickly. Although they were apart for quite some time their love never really died it was just dormant. When that love rekindled it was 🔥🔥🔥Once Lee took to DOC’s direction he was able to CHOOSE CHLOE & SOMI!
All the insecurities that jaz feels come as pretty realistic but like earn me the doc scenes are pretty off putting for me. I dont believe that only the man is responsible for a marriage but given that we are operating in the romance literature world, which is dominated by women that want to swoon for extremely hot and successful men thinking they would be in love with them in an alternative world, that is what welcomes us. I believe women can make mistakes, which groundbreaking, I know, but I genuinely hate romance books when they dont offer even an inch of realism to the reader.
I liked this book as I have also liked the others in the series. My only gripe is that I felt the characters were a little too cavalier about the 9 years lost between father and child. Chloe annoyed me with her disregard for the damage done to her child in the name of protecting that child. That said, this one was not my favorite but I look forward to Trust Me. I like Hazel already!
The rating is actually a 4.5. Overall the story is great. I love Lee and Chloe. And the reason for Chloe leaving was believable. The negative was a scene in the flower shop near the end. It was confusing. Then the other part was just the last portion of their reconciliation (after the hospital). It seemed like a rush to resolve which made it not believable and ruined it for me.
The writer gives us just enough to keep.you on the edge of your seat. We get to see the reality of what traditional beliefs are especially when they clash with love. There are some.moments when Somi is in a scene and she just nails it. This is not only a.second chance romance but this is an all around feel good romance, with a touch of what real family.is about and that real love wins out and it isn't always perfect.
Chloe is a very strong woman, I admired her determination and love the way she turned her life around. Love little Somi 😘 mature beyond her age !! Lee, you are awesome, it couldn’t be easy to brake away from the toxicity of your parents mostly your dad, but a man got to do what a man got to do. You and your girls are beautiful !!! Ok, Hazel, Graham and Doc are calling me!!
This book had sooo much potential. I enjoyed it but I thought I could love it. I listened to it and I struggled with the narrator and her slow reading. Also a couple of times she mispronounced words. As far as Chloe, she annoyed me at times. I understand she was hurt but having this man around his child and getting mad at times had me irked. Also at times , I got lost in the details. I never a big fan of second chance romance but throw in a secret child and you got me! #cillasbookmaniacs

Lee and Chloe had a true fight on their hands. Their love and the Asian culture. Lee's parents were interesting but they shaped their son and he is a good man. Chloe held strong raised her daughter and was a good mother a good friend and a good woman. She held silent power! Read Choose Me. It's a good book
This a story about a mixed couple or interracial couples black woman and Asian Male, they married and his father and mother did not like them being married. Their marriage license hasn't dry before trouble of break the up was a plan. This is a good storyline to read.
I absolutely love this series. Each one tackles a different modern day, believable situation and offers valid solutions. This one made me so happy. With so much going on in the world today, to see a family find and overcome the issues in their lives for an HEA, is a wonderful thing!
Loved the story line especially Doc, the marriage whisperer. The couple and their little girl Somi was so cute and believable. I am looking forward to reading more of your books and since I have read several, I love the theme of redemption, forgiveness, and the realization that love is worth fighting for.
Patience is a Virtue. This was definitely the easiest fix in the series so far because the love between them was evident from the moment they saw each other again. Above all, I applaud Lee for his patience, because I definitely expected him to blow in the beginning when they discussed why Somi was kept a secret.
The best book I’ve read in a while. Author gave different twist to the BWWM book. Characters are well developed and author intertwined the past and present in her story. True love conquers all in the end. Recommend this book for all.
Wow this one was so addicting I didn’t want to put it down until I finished. I haven’t read a book by this author that I didn’t like. Every time I see another book has come out in this series or the Be My series I’m get a excited.
I'm loving this series because the women do no forgive easily and rightly so where other books have given forgiveness and trust in a second so yes this definitely has my approval!!!
This is my favorite of the series. I am really enjoying the series on a,ready married couples. The HEA doesn’t come without hard work and it’s great to see couples keep working on the story. Working through the good and the bad.
I like this series and especially the help Doc gives the main characters. There was not a lot of drama in this story. But I can't wait for Graham's story. It sounds like there gonna be a lot of drama in that one
Yes it was slow but that is ok. I like Doc for sound like the dad everyone wants to have to give you advice about life. This the book that make you smile when you have a bad day.
Doc is literally my favorite character even though he was barely in this story he made such a huge impact I always look forward to his wisdom. Cannot wait for the next installment hopefully before Hazels liver takes a hit.
