A charming man with just a hint of darkness to keep things interesting.
I thought he could be mine.
I thought he could be my greatest love story.
I thought wrong.
I'm being hunted by the VP of the notorious King's Men MC.
And once he catches me, he will never let me go.
***Part one of a two-part series. Roman and Ryleigh's story will finish in Prey. ***Ends in a cliffhanger.
Trigger Warning: Depict violence and dark themes. It is intended for mature audiences only. Reader discretion is advised. ***Please refer to the warnings at the beginning of the book
V.T. Do is the author of angsty contemporary romance books. She currently lives in Colorado. When she's not spending time working on her upcoming books, you can find her talking to herself, arguing with imaginary characters (hence the talking to herself part), daydreaming, hunting magical creatures, in search of her next caffeine fix, or reading obsessively over dirty-mouth, bad boys from steamy, smutty romance books.

This one would have been a 5 star read for me, had the author not had so many frequent plot/contiuum holes so early on..
These things really bothered me to the point I had to just make up my own truth for these issues, in order to not be thrown out of the story flow any further..
My main issue was after the Prologue, when you start chapter one, it says "5 years later" but soon into the chapter, the h states twice that 7 years had passed, not 5. So this now put both characters' ages at 21 and 32 in the present, & NOT 19 and 30 as we're led to believe at the start of chapter one, since her ordeal occurred at age 14 and Roman was said to be 25 at the time, in the Prologue..
Then something major occurs where Roman is gone for 2 yrs.. meaning when he's back, he should be 34.. but he's saying he's 32.. and he sticks with this number, even after he eventually tells her- Ryleigh, his age later in the book.
So for me, I just kept them both at ages 34 and 23 when they finally connected, due to the timeline that was given before he went away for 2yrs.. .. But please update this.. it's annoying that these errors were not caught before this book was released. The back and forth with it was beyond annoying.. There are also other errors that occur within scene set ups through out the book, early on as well that need to be updated.
Now, the Trigger Warnings you see before starting this book, some of those listed, are NOT in this book at all.
Now, moving on.. This book was very slow.. You will not become truly enthralled with this read until you hit the 63-65% mark of this book.. so hold on. It's VERY MUCH WORTH IT!! I was going nuts 🤪 over this story from that point until it ended..
This has a cliffhanger as well.. Just be prepared to have to jump into the 2nd book, cause you're gonna want to. No matter how tempted you may be to skim until that 65% point, DON'T DO IT!!! You'll need those details I promise..
Roman is nuts. Period. Yes he'll scare you. But his older brother Micah will terrify you.. I guess I like Ryleigh.. not sure how to feel about her really. Right now, she's just neutral to me.
I would recommend this read and I am definitely reading book 2 right away..
At age of fourteen, Ryleigh was kidnapped and thrown over the cliff. She miraculously escaped death, saved by a mysterious stranger. Seven years later, she witnesses a murder and unknowingly sends her saviour to prison. With the assistance of ‘new evidence’, two years later he gets released, and the hunt for his prey begins. Because two years behind the bars made Roman obsessed with Ryleigh, while he planned his punishment for her. But when they meet face to face, his obsession changes into darker possessiveness and need to protect, diverting from taking his revenge. Hunter is a first book in the King’s Men MC, first part of a duet following Roman and Ryleigh. Ends with a massive cliffhanger. It's an intriguing and captivating read, with a good storyline and expressive characters. Secrets, lies and deception, lurking at every corner. Spice and smut was good and balanced well. Roman wasn’t what I expected - too soft, too gentle for a biker. I was missing the expected darker side of him, more dangerous. I hope to see it in the second book, and when have whole story my rating might change higher, but at the moment it stays on strong 3.5★/5.
Ryleigh life has been complicated and she wants to live on her own without her parents dictating her life. She moves into her new apartment and she meets a man who she is instantly attracted too. He is instantly attracted to her too. They both have secrets, but his could shatter her. Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended Amazing book I absolutely love this book read it in a day. You feel like your on a rollercoaster. Check trigger warnings and ends on a soft cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next book
Absolutely loving it! I've been a long time fan of VT Do's books, but hadn't had a chance to dive into this series yet and boy, was I missing out! Two years ago, Raleigh videotaped a crime she had witnessed one dark night and her judge father used it to put away the King's Men MC's VP, Roman in a political game. Now, Roman was able to get out of jail and plans on exacting revenge on Ry, but ends up being snared by the little slip of the girl he considers his prey.
Such a fantastic story! Well written and emotional without being too angsty. Its a little slower in the beginning, but definitely cranks up speed in the second half. The chemistry between them is palpable and the smexy times were super hot despite being a bit of a s!ow burn. Ry is the typical VT Do heroine: A bit frail and helpless, but trying hard to do for herself. Roman is a man completely obsessed. Stalking, breaking into her house, and literal "touch her and die" vibes, lol. Loved the cliffy, can't wait to see what Roman does now that she knows who he is.
This one started off slow and I had almost lost hope. About 25% things picked up and around 30% the couple finally had time on page together. I hate separations. He had spent the other time stalking her. Once things picked up I was hooked. Roman/Xavier was manipulative. He was obsessed with the heroine which I loved and super possessive. This is a duet which I wasn’t aware so I’m glad I stuck with this. I can’t wait to read part two after that ending.
This duet was so good!❤️❤️Roman is the VP of his mc. The book starts in the past when he came upon a scene where a man was assaulting a teenage girl. This girl happens to be our h, Ryleigh. Roman gets the man off her but there is a struggle and the man ends up throwing her off a cliff. Roman calls for help, since she looked to still be breathing, but stays in the shadows watching her until help arrived. Fast forward years later and Ryleigh is in college now but living such a lonely life😔 Her 3 roommates are awful to her and her parents aren’t much better. She witnesses a scene, and records it, one night leaving a bar where a few men are attacking one man and kills him. Obviously this is Roman and some of his mc brothers. They were getting rid of a corrupt man but Ryleigh does not know this. Her dad is the judge and she calls him for help. Little does she no dear ol’ dad is corrupt himself. Roman goes to jail for 2 years…now he wants revenge on the girl who put him away, this is where the romance begins! Roman starts stalking Ryleigh for revenge but almost immediately feels this need to watch her and protect her. Roman moves into her apartment complex and installs cameras, I mean this guy wants to see EVERYTHING! When he “meets” her in the hallway he introduces himself as Xavier. She would know him by his name Roman so fake identity it is😂Xavier and Ryleigh fall for each other but what happens when she discovers who Xavier really is…..this leaves us on a cliffy but don’t worry book 2 is out!! Roman(Xavier) is all about Ryleigh so no need to worry about OW drama. …BUT THERE IS THIS🫣One of his ex f*** buddies tries to come on to him twice. The first time he allowed her to ONLY touch him in front of his club members because he was trying to keep Ryleigh a secret. He walks her out to her car, everyone thinking they are hooking up,but he sends her away and tells her if anyone ask he left with her. HE DID NOT HE GOES STRAIGHT TO RYLEIGH. The second time she comes around again he is at the bar with the guys and he immediately gets her away from him.👏🏻👏🏻So as much as I hate OW drama this was doable for me! He has been celibate for 2 years since he’s been in jail and when he gets out Ryleigh is it for him❤️
Ryleigh had been through a lot in her life. From being kidnapped and thrown over a cliff when she was fourteen to witnessing a murder seven years later. She doesn’t realize that the same man who saved her seven years ago was the same one she sent to jail. She thinks no one knows that she’s the witness, but the hunter already knows his prey and he’s tracking her every move.
Roman spent two years in jail thinking about the girl who put him there. When his friends got him out, he couldn’t wait to see her face-to-face. He wanted her to suffer, to feel pain and see the fear when she knew he was after her. With each day he spends following her, his obsession grows and soon he won’t be able to let her go.
Hunter is the first book in Ryleigh and Roman’s duet. It’s also the first book in the King’s Men MC romance series. It has stalking, violence and steamy scenes that’ll make you blush. It’s a dark, age-gap romance with a touch of suspense as the book ends on a cliffhanger. There are themes of obsession, loyalty, and trust. It’s a story of a woman who is trying to escape a dangerous past and a man who is determined to possess her every thought. Ryleigh and Roman’s relationship is full of tension and uncertainty, as secrets could put them in danger.
This book was steamy as hell. I think the only thing that took away from the romance was that he wasn’t completely honest with her. But I know that’s just the plot. It’s fitting. He wanted revenge and her not knowing who he was, gave him a chance to get to know her better. Roman is the VP to the MC and his character was presented as tall, dark and dangerous, but with Ryleigh he turned into tall, dark and gentle. Though not always gentle ;)
The plot is an interesting one, with Roman wanting revenge and Ryleigh’s kidnapper never being caught. It gave me a lot of things to question. Will there be a future for these two? Will I ever know who the kidnapper was and why he did it? Will the others in the MC accept their relationship? Will her parents? Will she still love him after she finds out who he is? It’s a story that has a lot of things to keep readers flipping page after page.
Ryleigh sounded like a naive little girl, but slowly she changed. Roman’s closeness brought out her feisty side. They both don’t remember meeting each other before on the cliff. Ryleigh isn’t the best at remembering faces, and it shows when she met Roman three times before and never recognised him. It made her easy prey for a hunter like Roman. She also seemed unaware of her surroundings. If you put an important player away from a dangerous MC, the least thing you’d do is look him up once he got out. Even if you trusted that he didn’t know you were the one to put him away.
I enjoyed Hunter and I can’t wait to read Prey as Ryleigh and Roman’s story continues. And I’m already curious about the other characters like Kai, Dominic, and most of all Micha. They all seem like intense characters but also interesting. Think of this book as the beginning of Ryleigh and Roman’s story, because I have a feeling the second book will have a hell of a lot going on.
So I really liked the plot and premise of the book. I liked both main characters, although the mfc definitely had some naive tendencies. In different aspects, like the lack of self-preservation and also not being able to put the clues together. But you grow to see how good they are together and root for things to work out between them. There were some characters that I didn't understand the relevance like the old roommate being reintroduced. I'm hoping that this isn't supposed to be a standalone and is a duet with the same couple or something because it's like as soon as things came to a head, the book ended. And left many questions. Now that Ryleigh knows who Roman is, how do they move past that? Will they both realize he's the one who saved her as a kid? Is she going to end up pregnant? How will he convince her to stay with him and for the club to accept her? What's going to happen with her dad, the mayor, the rival club, and the kings men? The book ended in to open ended of a way but really leaves you wanting more to get those answers and see what happens next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
First time reading from this author.. Slightly mixed feelings cuz while I did enjoy some aspects like the dirty talk, the stalking vibes the good girl/bad boy....i was left just wanting more.. the pacing felt off for me so that did hinder my liking it.. and that ending tho.. 😳 Totally wasn't expecting that.
I loved this book. I'm not normally a dark romance reader, this author is my exception. They have the incredible ability to create a compelling story without evoking anxiety.
Ryleigh has been through so much, you can't help but love her. She's awkward but so determined and ambitious. She's the sweetest. I just wanted to hug her.
Roman is dark, possessive, and so damn likable. He can be a bit of an ass but he's got redeeming qualities.
Overall, the story was fantastic. I couldn't put this book down. My only complaint is that it ended on a cliffhanger! I needed more!
Ryleigh and Roman run into each other for the second time. He is supposed to be seeking vengeance instead finds himself wanting to protect her even from his club brothers. He had one job-get rid of her and pay back the judge who sent him away.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is my first book from this author and I must say I enjoyed this book. The storyline definitely kept me interested. Can't wait to read the second book to this duet.
I was expecting Roman to be a bit more rougher around the edges given his personality but seems like he's a big softee and a damn stalker kind of creepy to be honest. Rayleigh is extremely naive. She's definitely has some type of social disorder caused by trauma. I actually felt bad for her because she has no friends no social life.
Genre: Dark, MC Romance Series Type: Duet Book Length: Novel POV: Alternating Dual Setting: California Male MC: Roman Stone is the Vice President of the King’s Men MC. He just finished serving two years in prison for a crime that Ryleigh was a witness to. He wants revenge and begins stalking Ryleigh after he’s released and quickly becomes obsessed with her. Roman is 32 and has dark hair, a neatly trimmed beard, and warm brown eyes. Female MC: Ryleigh Hudson is a sweet but shy young woman who grew up pretty sheltered after surviving a vicious kidnapping when she was young. She witnesses a terrible crime one ill-fated night that results in Roman going to prison. Ryleigh is 22 and has long black hair and gray eyes. Endearment: Baby Spice Level: Medium Frequency of Spice: Low Angst Level: Low Cliffhanger: Yes Epilogue: No My Review: I loved this book so much! It has a deliciously dark and obsessive man who can’t stay away from this beautiful woman that he’s supposed to hate, but his heart has other plans. Roman is strong, brutal and dangerous but melts for Ryleigh and just wants to protect her and keep her by his side forever. I loved them together and enjoyed every moment of this story.
Roman had just arrived in Sacramento and was on the way back to his bike when he heard a disturbance in the trees. The undeniable sound of a slap and then a child crying out. He turned around in rage to find out the source and came upon a man over a girl struggling to get away with a look of terror on her face.
As he drew closer he could see that the girl was probably older than his original estimation of ten, but even so, she was a tiny little thing. He drew closer cautiously because even though he was taller and bulkier than the man they were on the same cliff ledge he had just left. Instead of letting the girl go as he demanded, he watched in horror as the man threw her off the cliffside and ran.
Roman climbed down as fast as he could and was thankful when he found a faint pulse. He grabbed her phone praying there would be a signal and called for help telling the unconscious girl to hold on. As soon as he heard the sirens he waited in the shadows until she was safely in the ambulance and then found his way back up the cliff to his bike before anyone could see him.
California was a long way from West Virginia but after being released from prison after beating up the Mayor's son he needed a fresh start and the only family he had left was his older brother Micah...the enforcer for the King's Men MC club.
Ryleigh was glad that she wasn't a good sleeper so she could avoid her roommates. Against her parent's wishes, she was attending college away from home and it wasn't like she had a choice in who the college roomed her with, but since the other three girls had been friends since high school it made it harder to feel comfortable in her surroundings. Especially since they didn't make any effort to make her feel welcome.
Three semesters later and she still felt like an unwelcome guest and was happy to get out of the apartment early to get coffee at the campus cafe with time to spare before having to go to class. As she is waiting in the long line she glances around at the gathered crowds sad that she didn't have a friend to call her own....and noticed the guy who although in the center of a large group seemed to be distant from them.
She had never met him and besides her roommate being obsessed with him everyone knew who he was. It wasn't because of his gorgeous looks, but that he was the son of the notorious President of the King's Men MC club. She doesn't know much besides the whispers and her dad's hatred, but she knew they were dangerous men.
She should have paid attention to the signs, but she was too excited at the chance of going out when her roommates asked her to join them for the night. Sign one...although they had been roommates for three semesters this was the first time that Angelica, Kylie and Marren had offered to spend time with her. Sign two...Angelica's nasty look when she stepped out of her room made up and ready to go out for the night. Sign three...Kylie's look of guilt as they asked if she would mind driving...and they all sat in the back seat like she was their chauffeur.
Fear had followed her for the last seven years after waking up in the hospital at fourteen with very few memories of what had happened that horrible day she had been abducted she was so tired of being in the shadows so as soon as they arrived at the club she informed the girls that they were on their own getting home because it wasn't going to be with her.
After grabbing a bite to eat at a bar close to the club she decides to head home. Until she arrives at her car to see that they had slashed all four of her tires. And if those signs weren't enough that she should have stayed home the next one was. When she finally found an area near an alley beside the club where her cellphone could get a signal to call for help...the back door to the club opens and she witnesses a man being murdered.
OMG! This is my favorite VT Do book yet! This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. BEWARE - this book has a cliffhanger!
This book is action-packed, full of danger and so much suspense leading up to Ryleigh realizing who she has fallen in love with, but it is only the beginning of the questions left hanging. I so love Roman and his obsessive need for Ryleigh despite what her actions did to him. This story has many unexpected twists and I can't wait for the story to finally unravel.
If you love dark romance with men with a bit of danger and smoking hot sexual scenes, look no further! Highly recommend!
FIRST OFF. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK LIKE RIGHT NOW. THAT ENDING.. 😲
This book certainly had layers to the story and kept me guessing as there are a bunch of secrets not even saying anything about the biggest one.
The starting chapter completely threw me off especially as we go ahead in the book. I didn't know the what and why of what was happening.
Ryleigh, I felt for that girl right from the start. Coming out of a traumatic experience at such a young age, not even knowing the dark angel who had saved her.
She might be from a Wealthy family but she strives to be independent and make her own life. Bitchy friends and being set as an outcast doesn't make her take a step back and I liked that she might be sweet but certainly wasn't going to be a doormat.
But one night of wanting to be just normal and go out and have fun turns out into a nightmare and changes her life overnight. No worries, nothing happens to her but something happens that she gets entangled into badly.
Roman had me intrigued right from that first chapter and I really wondered how our worlds apart Roman and Ryleigh would ever come together. I really had no idea how wildy these two were meant to come together.
Roman's life changes drastically when one incident happens and he vows to take revenge on the person responsible for what happened to him.
But what starts as a ploy to keeps tabs on the person who ruined his life soon turns into an uncontrollable obsession.
Roman finds himself utterly taken by Ryleigh but there's also this dilemma of his Club not finding out his plans. As it's not just him that was affected and his Club is his family too.
Oh my... This would definitely be a thing of horror in real life but it's not and in fiction a freaking hot and obsessed man like Roman can stalk me to his heart's content.
There's just something about Roman that will make you fall for him instantly. Like he's rough and hard where needed and yet has a warmth and softness when he looks at you and the way he treats Ryleigh that had me melting along with her too.
Each Kiss and each intimate moment was filled with so much passion, I was shivering at the intensity and everything these two were making me feel. 🌶️🌶️🔥🔥🔥
But oh my does that man know what he's doing and His Stamina..🥵🔥. Let's just say I was soo jealous of Ryleigh. Not only for how Roman was in bed (or other places😉) but also outside bed. ROMAN IS JUST UFFFF.. 🔥🔥😍😍😍
Then that ending... Oh my...I need to dive into the next book like right now. Loved loved this one. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thanks bed & books PR AND VT Do for sending me a copy of this book to read review.
This is my first VT Do book and it was quite enjoyable. it certainly had me on the edge of my seat at times especially the ending cliff hanger or what.
This book Follows Roman who is the VP of the Kings Men MC. When we first meet him he is a young man just out of prison who sees a girl in trouble and tries to help but then runs after he calls for her to get help. The story then fasts forwards.
We get to meet Ryleigh she is a young women who is in college a very nieve and considering her history is very unaware of the danger and her sureoundings. She lives with 3 bitchy girls who one night ask to go out just so she can be the designated driver but that night ends with ryleigh in even more danger than she ever could have thought.
When Roman is released from Prison he has one mission and that's is to get revenge on Ryleigh Hudson only after watching her he can fight his obsession and his obsession becomes more to the point he declares her as his. He bugs her apartment and that is just the beginning of things he does.
Roman goes by a pseudo with Ryleigh as she doesn't recognise him but how long can he keep his secrets and can he keep hold of his obsession or will it all go sideways. The more teh story goes on Ryleigh still doesn't become observant and misses key clues. Her behaviour at times was a little frustrating to read.
I did enjoy this book. At times I found it a little wordy and repetitive which I thenfound myself skimming the words on the page but near the end of was comepltly sucked in and that ending omg. Thank god I have Prey in my Lindle ready to read.
My Overall Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋 My Character Rating is 3 ❤️❤️❤️ My Smut Rating is 2 🍆🍆 My Angst Rating is 3 😬😬😬
Hunter by Mercedes Lackey is a gripping novel that effortlessly combines elements of fantasy and suspense into a thrilling narrative. From the very start, I found myself drawn into a world filled with magical creatures, ancient prophecies, and a protagonist that exudes strength and resilience.
The main character, Joyeaux, is a refreshing and well-developed heroine. Lackey skillfully brings her to life, crafting a character with a unique blend of courage, vulnerability, and a strong moral compass. Joyeaux's journey from a remote mountain village to the bustling city of Apex is both captivating and relatable.
Lackey's writing style is engaging and accessible, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the story. The world-building is rich, with vivid descriptions that bring the fantastical elements to life. The dynamic between the Hunters and the supernatural forces they face adds layers of complexity to the plot.
The plot itself is a rollercoaster of suspense and excitement. The mystery surrounding the Othersiders and the ancient prophecies creates a sense of urgency that keeps the reader hooked. The pacing is spot-on, with well-executed action sequences that heighten the overall tension.
What sets Hunter apart is its exploration of themes like destiny, identity, and the consequences of choices. Joyeaux's internal struggles and the moral dilemmas she faces add depth to the narrative, elevating the story beyond a typical fantasy adventure.
In conclusion, Hunter is a must-read for fans of fantasy and suspense. Mercedes Lackey's masterful storytelling and the strong, relatable protagonist make this book a standout in the genre. If you're looking for a novel that seamlessly blends magic and mystery with a compelling heroine, Hunter is a thrilling choice that will leave you eagerly anticipating the next installment.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Psycho is book 5 in the King's Men MC series by V.T. Do. Micah Stone is the enforcer for the club. Everyone thinks he is extreme. He is very protective of those in his circle. Lainey works at boxing arena owned by dad, Ozzy Reyes. Her father is abusive and has an ulterior motive for everything. She catches Micah's eye and for three years he watches her. Until he needs to stop in to protect what is his.
Micah is very alpha and extremely protective. He uses order to keep things safe. While their relationship starts off very rocky and stalkerish, you can see very early on how he loves and protects. His past shaped his actions today.
The story starts out being mainly about their relationship developing. Another MC is trying to push out the King's. About 2/3 of the way into the story the action picks up as the events start to come to a head.
I wasn't sure if I liked Micah. He has proved himself to be over the top. As more of his history is revealed , we could grow to understand his character. Lainey starts off a a strong woman who is struggling to make a life for herself. She is a victim to her life with her father as an abuser. As Micah moves into her life, she pretty much gives up being the strong one to him. I do wish she would have held onto her strength. As Micah and Lainey's relationship grows, things normalize for the couple(well as much as they can be).
There are lots of triggers throughout this book and should be taken seriously. Micah is a man who apologizes to no one for his actions. Overall the book held my attention and I couldn't help but grow to like Micah.
4.5 stars! Ryleigh and Roman’s love story is soooo interesting! On the surface, it’s actually a very sweet and sexy romance, their interactions and dynamic are so great, and it’s actually even a bit of a slow burn between them. But just below the surface, it’s so so much darker than it seems. Ryleigh has been through some very traumatic events in her life, the first back when she was fourteen, and then again seven years later. What she doesn’t realize, is that Roman played a (rather significant) part in both of those events. The second event resulted in her court testimony that ended up putting Roman in prison. And although she was supposed to have been an anonymous witness, the Roman’s MC has eyes and ears everywhere and discovered quickly who she was. As Roman is released from prison, his sole purpose is to find the woman who put him in jail and eliminate her. But interestingly enough, as soon as he meets her in person, he’s immediately transfixed by her, and his plans shift - he wants her for himself. Lucky for him, she never really saw his face, only heard his voice, and that was over 2 years ago, so her memory isn’t as clear, so when they meet in person, and he gives her a different name, she’s completely clueless as to who he is. The even more fascinating part is that he is legitimately falling for her, and below his tough af MC exterior, he turns into a gooey over-protective cinnamon roll for her, on top of completely stalking her every move. It’s so completely dichotomous, but somehow it works perfectly. And since she’s none the wiser, she starts to fall for the bad boy biker who’s as sweet as can be to her.
But yes, this is book one of a duet, the cliffhanger was absolutely expected. And to be fair, there were really two ways this could have left us hanging, two big reveals that could have spun things out of control, so is it a surprise where we are left hanging, no. But does that stop me from being completely invested in this story and absolutely craving the next book to see where it’s going to go from here, not a chance. The balance of dark and sweet was so unexpected, I loved every second, and I can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
Everyone knows that I love MC books. I've read so many and I can't get enough of them. It's an addiction. Lol When the opportunity arrived to read a new book by a new author I was intrigued and excited. But there are always risks. Lol Will I like the book? The way the author writes it? Whelk, let's just say that all those fears were unfounded. V.T. Do is a new author to me and let's just say that I want more. Hunter is the first book from the King's Men MC and explores the lives of Roman and Ryleigh. Roman is the VP for the King's Men MC. He's closed off with darkness surrounding him. Things happened to make him the way he is and when he sets his eyes on Ryleigh... Ryleigh just wants to live her life free of the constant dictators that are her parents. She wants to escape from their constant criticism and rules so she just moves out of their house to a new apartment. What she wasn't counting on was the stunning hunk of a man that's Roman... OK... Seriously... A cliffhanger? This is so not fair... This book was dark, that's for sure and I'm still shaking. Great plot, well written, dark, intense, and emotional. I can't say too much about what transpired in this book, because I hate to spoil it, but be ready. How can you overcome your past? How can you forgive and forget? It's not an easy task, that's for sure. These two, despite all the drama surrounding them, we're made for each other. The chemistry they shared is of charts and you'll feel it. And now, I'm here, left wanting more because seriously? Please don't take too long. I need more... So much more. Awesome premiere for me V.T. Do. Loved it
Roman & Ryleigh lobe story is a complex and tense chemistry love story 🔥
Ryleigh at first I thought she was a push over and she proved me wrong. She moved out of her parents house for independence and break FREE from them. Her parents want to trap her in a life she does not want and her father a Judge is full of secrets...no spoilers AND there was a moment with her roomates that made her be sober driver but she was like no am not going to get used. She maybe shy but she not afraid to bite LOVE HER
Roman when we first met him he is rescuing a girl from a man...no spoilers and it should he had a good heart and BRAVE. Roman was in jail for 2 years and he wants revenge however, that mission takes a detour...no spoilers
"One of God's sacrifices, sending her down to tame the Devil. And instead took her and kept her."
He wanted to be her nightmares but he became the nightmare of protecting and love her... You Feel the conflict that Roman has with his mission
I LOVE all his MC & bio brothers they will make you smile and you want to learn more about them. Breaks my heart that Roman has a family that supports and love him BUT Ryleigh family care about their image and make her in their own way, she can't be herself she must be what they want her to be
Will they both break free...have to wait for book 2 Prey
V.T Do did a brilliant job on Roman's hidden identity to his prey. This made it easier for him to get closer to Rayleigh. However, Ryleigh does not recognise his face... no spoilers and I WAS VERY suspicious about that. One incident yet I understand why she didn't remember but the other one...
H0ly cannoli this BOOK! 😮💨 I could not put it down. New to me author V.T. So blew my mind. This story literally started with a bang and never let me go. I was riveted from page one and the story took off from there. There were many emotional spots that made my chest hurt…who knew being lonely could be a physical pain? Me, I did, and apparently so does Ms. Do because the emotions she invoked were real and raw and pressing. Our h, Ryleigh had a hard life, she’d experienced so much hardship she was unable to make friends and tons of people took advantage of her vulnerability. She saw something she shouldn’t have and that affliction tripled. Enter our H, Roman. A dead smëxy AF anti-hero who could have gone way the wrong way but didn’t due to his stalkerish ways. He falls 1st, my favorite troupe, and she, silently & tentatively, admits she loved him too. There are players in the background, questions to be answered and my anxiety is HIGH!! I can’t wait to find out what happens next. All in all, I loved this story, action and HEAT packed. OMG the 😮💨💦🥵a slow burn (which I normally DON’T like) that lit up my kindle once it actually caught fire. Hot d@ng!! The only thing o really didn’t like were the grammatical errors (I know, pot met kettle, I’m sure I have tons here too). They took me out of the story having to stop and reread 2 or 3 times to decipher what was meant to be said. Other than that? This book was amazing!! On to the next!
OMG! I LOVED this story! It consumed me and I could not put it down. That beginning had my stomach in knots and my heart ready to burst out of my chest. I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails like crazy with anxiety and gasping at what lengths Roman is going through in order to snare Ryleigh. It was one hell of an intense and emotional rollercoaster ride that had me reeling with shock by the end.
Ryleigh is such a sweet and naive young woman. The tragedies that keep following her around had me wanting to reach in and give her a much-needed hug. She is so lonely it was heartbreaking.
Roman is a fierce, angry, possessive and sweet man. The connection he has with Ryleigh was forged a long time ago but neither of them remember and I can’t wait until this comes to light. Their chemistry was intense, steamy and highly combustible. I loved their banter but the secrets are going to destroy both of them if they don’t fess up soon.
“I’m not a dream. I’m like a nightmare, but you never have to worry about that because I’m your nightmare. You can unleash me to fight away all the monsters keeping you up at night.”
Such a fantastic and well written story that just pulled me in and had me devouring every delicious moment of it. It was suspenseful, action packed, violent, heartbreaking, danger filled and deliciously sexy. And after the way this one ended, I am anxiously waiting to see what the hell is going to happen next, because things are just getting really good!!!
Xavier felt like he was either going to be my greatest love story, or my most painful heartbreak.
Hunter came to me at the right time. I was in a reading slump, and this got me out of it. Honestly, I wasn't going to start it because it was late, but I couldn't sleep, so I thought, 'might as well, right?'
I flew right through it since it was fast-paced, and it got me out of my head. Every time I put it down, I wanted to pick it up again immediately, wanting to know what happened next.
Cliffhangers and no HEA are two things I usually don't enjoy, yet I didn't mind in this instance. There were several moments when Roman and Ryleigh frustrated me, yet I could relate to Ryleigh to a certain degree. There were a few confusing moments for me, but it was more on my part, and it wasn't enough that it would've ruined my experience.
Compared to V.T. Do's The Knight and the Princess, which I enjoyed and liked enough, my experience with Hunter surpassed that! I always meant to go back and read the other books in The Entangled Past series but have yet to have the chance. However, Hunter is the first with the King's Men MC series, and it got me hooked! I can't wait to continue this series!
Okay, I loved this! I have been in an MC mood for the past few days, and while this wasn't as much of an MC novel as I was expecting, I still freaking loved it. Our FMC, Ryleigh, who turned our MMC, Roman, in for murder and now he is stalking her in order to get vengeance but ends up falling in love? SIGN ME UP! I also enjoyed the aspect of them having a history together that neither of them have out together yet. I can't wait until that comes out in the next book!
This book is steamy and murderous and, let's be honest, jealousy inducing with this gorgeous, HOTTT, sweet MMC. And I loved our shy, smart, kind, but secretly freaky FMC. I also really enjoyed the side characters, and I'm excited for them to get their HEAs as well, but not before Roman and Raleigh do! I also want her old roommates to come back into the picture and for the mean one to get what is coming to her, while the sweet/feels-guilty-for-being-mean-to-Ry one gets one of the guys 😏😏😏 honestly, I can't remember their names 😬
The only reason this isn't a 4⭐ read is because of the amount of typos I noticed while reading and some of the phrasing felt a little off. But otherwise, I really enjoyed this book!
