One would think being the daughter of an all-powerful demon would be awesome. Right? I thought so until recently.
My father, Armand Cascade aka Horns, was president of the Red Skulls MC. It’s members were all soulless demons whose only lot in life was to siphon souls from other MCs.
Over time my father became the king of demons and relied on me to lure in victims. It was an honor for me until I was assigned to the Lost Lark MC and fell in love with a human, Mykel ‘Kaniac’ Kane.
Will I defy my father and face the consequences by leaving this MC be?
Or will I remain loyal to my father and my lineage and take the souls of those good men?
LD Wosar is a best selling multi-genre author, but writes predominantly PNR. She lives in Las Vegas where she soaks up the sun in the blistering heat…not really. She prefers to stay indoors and write….write…write, while listening to her vast collection of vinyl records.
I didn't know what I was getting into when I started reading Cascade Duck. I've read Wosar's vampire series but wasn't prepared for the complete awesomeness that is Andi Cascade. Wosar is an expert at writing strong, stubborn, female leads who have a do-or-die mentality. Andi is no different.
Andi is the owner of a bar/ All she wants is to live a normal human life, but her demonic side is threatening to destroy everything she loves. This book has drama, death, steam, and a demented serial killer demon who'll stop at nothing to secure Andi as his wife.
I enjoyed this audiobook. Yhe storyline was unique, the characters great and it was interesting and entertaining. Andi is half deom and half human. She wants to find true love and is a good person. She prefers her human side even though her demon powers are advantageous. She meets Michael who is human and their is an instant spark. Lance West did a great job with the narration.
It's Andalusia's 18th birthday, the day she increases her power to full demon. Her father is a demon and her mother was human, so the ritual to give her strength is to drain six demons of their blood. She fails to complete the task set before her and his only concern is what to do now to become a full demon. She's been promised to the King of Demons, Amon Mansour, and his edict is for her to kill seven souls before her 21st birthday and she will become his queen. Unfortunately, Andie wants nothing to do with him and her "character" shines through. She is hilarious and deadly, sometimes both at once. She's also oversexed, another word for horny, and it's going to be a pleasure as she finds all seven. I had to chuckle with some of the things she said and how she pulled the wool over the unsuspecting victims' heads. In the end, she finds her soulmate, if that's what you can call it when you have no soul! This story is very well-written and the characters are unique. The narration by Lance West was okay, but there needed to be more of a variation from voice to voice. There was a little bit of contrast between males and females, but I had to concentrate and use context to figure out who was speaking. The pace and quality of voices were excellent.
I have no disrespect for this Author at all. I did enjoy about 75% of this book which says more than my stomach could handle the gruesome scenes including the gay sex scene that appeared with Tony and Amon (Alex). The death scenes were too much for me and I tried to finish the book but I couldn't do it. I was able to read the first book Chrome Poppies. You know you found a good Author when they can hit you at your weakest links. Mine is gruesome deaths, I am sorry but that is something I have to pass on. I will sadly not be reading anymore of L.D. Wosar content at least of these type of books because my stomach just can't handle it.
For those that do like gruesome details this is for you. The rating is also fair on my part because these stories are well written and I loved the story lines. Please keep writing L.D. Wosar, you are a fantastic Author.
This is not the run of the mill MC story. It's so much more. It has real enjoyable characters even so some are real bad demons. But what I hadn't expected was to enjoy parts of the book so much I laughed out load it was totally a surprise of the best kind. Not what I thought would happen when I started reading the book. That just made my day and I finished the book in one sitting couldn't put it away. The book has it all spice violence love and humor cant be much better than this. Recommended to any one wanting a fast paced ride with humor and spice.
Andalusia, Andie, is a half demon that seriously just wants to live her best life as a human. However, she's pursued by a demon who wants her for her potential power. Can Andie survive the monster with her human soul intact or will he force her to bow to his will?
I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the series.
4.5 stars I really liked this book. An interesting storyline with likable characters. A page turner with action, a touch of suspense, twists, and turns.
