The eternal dance of attraction, lust, and love has been going on since time immemorial.

Apsara Menaka and rishi Vishwamitra’s daughter Shakuntala has had it tough throughout her life—abandoned by her parents, cursed by rishi Durvasa and forgotten by the love of her life. King Dushyant rules his kingdom efficiently, but sometimes he feels an emptiness in his heart that no one has been able to fill.

Eons later, their story is set to repeat itself.

An upcoming pâtissier, happy-go-lucky Juhika is going about her business when she meets Samar at the resort her father manages. Everything begins to look meaningless with Samar lavishing passionate attention on her. Then he forgets her after promising the whole world.

With music in his soul, Samar has big dreams for his future. Meeting Juhi was just a detour, but he was wrong. In the short duration, she becomes the most important part of his life, then in one ill-fated moment all is lost.

What happens when these two young and happy souls are brought together by chance, then separated by fate? In the game of reality, destiny, and life, some win and some lose. But are there any winners or losers in the game of love?

Like Shakuntala and Dushyant, will Juhi and Samar find their happily-ever-after, or are they destined to see their story end in tragedy? Or will the divine power prevail?

This is my first book by Ruchi Singh and I must say I was overwhelmed to read it. This intriguing romance sounded pretty much good to me but reading it I found it engulfed with past and present which made me like the book even more.

Cover: A picture of a piano and behind that picture of a man and a woman. The colour combination made it look miraculous.

Plot: First we are re-introduced with the story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant then we read of Juhi and Samar. Samar was in Rishikesh when he along with his friend Rudra meet her accidentally. Although Samar was to go to Harvard for his further studies the short time he spent with Juhi was blissful but then he went. But that's not the end... They meet again... But the question is will they end together or is that the end... This is something my friends I'll suggest you to read and find out.

Characters: The characters were well placed and they kept the story entertained.

Final Verdict: Although, in the cover it says that this is the 2nd book, this can be read as a stand-alone. The plot was really good and the dramatic effects keeps the readers gripped. I guess I will read the author's previous book because I liked this one.

This book, Cursed: An Indian Billionaire Romance written by Ruchi Singh is a fictional story with elements like love and romance. This story is written based on the relationships happening in two different time periods. One part of the story actually focuses on Samar and Juhi and their love life which happens at the present. Their relationship takes time and grows out steadily. The other part of the story focuses on the relationship between Shakuntala and Dushyanta. At some point of the plot, the author elegantly connects these two tales ! That was a soulful story.

I was saying this line repeatedly to myself while reading this story - "just one chapter then I'll stop, just one chapter then I'll stop" but trust me I was not able to stop until I reached the end of the story. This would for sure be a beautiful read!

Love, passion, feelings and relationships: all these are easy to experience but difficult to express in the written word. Good love stories are irresistible: They appear in almost every genre and culture and are the subject of centuries of lore. These stories persist because they carry healing and hope. Everyone can use the vicarious drama and swooping emotion a truly great romance brings, especially in these dark days.

Cursed: An Indian Billionaire Romance by Ruchi Singh is a fictional romantic book which is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone book. The book has two stories running parallel. Samar and Juhi in the present time where Samar who is a billionaire falls in love with beautiful Juhi. Their love story grows with time and evolves. Another story is of Shakuntala and Dushyanta, the bond of perpetuity. At a very beautiful point in the plot, the author smartly connects these two tales.

Everyday language with good and easy vocabulary is used by the author which makes this book an easy read. The narration style is captivating and the writing of the characters is outstanding. Although the book is the second in the series it can be read as a standalone. I am going for the first book in the series. This book tells us that no matter how many years have passed, no matter whether you remember or not, love recognizes its heart and it comes to it.

The interesting twists and turns make it more interesting to read. Anyone who has an interest in romantic fiction should go for this book. A very sweet love story and an enjoyable one too.

A very cute love story.I loved this book for a few reasons.
1.shakuntala damayanti story ive always liked....the way the author decribes the present and eon yrs back... I like this connection Comparing the stories from two different time zones.

2. Samar and rudra , their conversTion is so easy going. I dint read book 1 and dont know if their bonding has been described there but i liked their easy going friendship.

3. How uniquely does a writers brain work... Apsara menaka narrating sakuntalas plight is one, but who could have thought apsara menaka... Speaking about juhika..wow... . She has taken.fantasy to another level.

This is a full filmy kind of novel and god a created me full filmy too...so i love filmy style.....

This book tells that.....no matte r how many years have passed no matter u remember or not....  love recognizes its heart......fragrance of love.... A VERY SWEET STORY. DO READ. SHORT AND SWEET.

WHAT I MISSED: i felt Mr.acharya's part was very leas.. The power of the musician started very high like aishwarya rais father in HDDCKS , after so much of waiting he agreed to train samar, then the vigour with which he came and warned juhi... But later phuss...i wanted something of acharya tooo...(if possible bonus chapter😋😉)

All in all a sweet book.

Book- Cursed: An Indian Billionaire Romance
Author- Ruchi Singh
Genre- Romance
Rating- 4.7/5

Love has healing powers. Many a time, it can ruffle the mind. But, unfortunately, every love story does not end in heartache. Nor does every love story end in a fairy tale style. The book cover looks musical, and the book title is apt to the theme.

The sweet couple Juhi and Samar fell in love at a very young age. But fate had a cruel plan for them. Samar was injured in a near-fatal accident. So Juhi's existence gets wiped out from Samar's memory without a trace.

Samar and Juhi meet after a long time. However, the scenes and lives have changed for both. Dhruv accompanies Juhi to participate in a musical competition. Can Samar recall his past and Juhi after a long stint?

Another tale of Shakuntala and king Dushyant runs parallel in the novel. The author Ruchi has interestingly entwined the plot with two love stories that are ages apart. What happens in Juhi and Samar's lives in New York? Will it be a magical end or a tragic ending for both?

No one is powerful enough to fight against what they have been destined for, and fate is something that we simply cannot challenge.

In the book, ‘Cursed’ by Ruchi Singh, the author has narrated a beautiful story that will show us just how powerful love truly can be.

Juhi and Samar were someone who were destined to be bonded, but before they even knew about each other’s existence, fate had conspired to keep them apart.

Just when these two felt like they had found their happily ever after, an accident left them both reeling, the repercussions of which will be seen subsequently.

However, if two hearts are meant to be together, regardless of how long it takes and how far they go, irrespective of how tough it seems, love will bring them together.

I loved the depiction, as well as the way with which author has binded two love stories from different eras, hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This novel by Ruchi Singh, titled Cursed: An Indian Billionaire Romance, is a work of fiction featuring aspects of love and romance. This narrative is built on relationships that exist in two distinct historical eras.

The book starts with a tale of Shakuntala and King Dushyant , and then we hear about Juhi and Samar. Samar and his friend Rudra met her unintentionally while they were both in Rishikesh. Even though Samar was scheduled to go Harvard for his advanced studies, his little time with Juhi was delightful before he left. But it doesn't end there. They meet again eventually. The question is, though, will they go out together or is that it? My friends, I urge you to read and discover out about this.

The story is beautifully and captivatingly narrated. The writing of the characters was excellent. I was drawn in by the cover image the most. It was made more interesting by the interesting turns it took.

True love stories never have endings - Richard Bach

The book is a soulful read. A love story that has stood the test of time. A beautiful blend of eternal love stories in two different timelines. One such love story which will touch your heart.

The story is beautifully weaved. The plot is very unique. It is something i had never read before, primarily because of author's terrific storytelling skills. As this love story is not a fairytale, so the twist are given at perfect moments making it a PAGE TURNER. Moreover, the story makes you connect with the character and situation. You will sink into it, once you start.

Definitely worth checking out if you like love stories and want to read something unique and refreshing.

On the whole, a beautiful tale of eternal love.

True love stories never have endings. To begin with the cover of the book that has an essence of love, power magic and realism. Two stories run parallel, a story of Shakuntala and Dushyant that many of us know. But still seemed fresh and sparking along with the tale of a billionaire Samar and Juhika.

Now how the two of them are put into this tier is a must read..So both have love, romance and commitment. The two cast Juhika and Samar meet at Juhika's fathers resort that he managed.

But as other love stories ... Few unite and few depart... This one has also it's journey..

What will be there love story?

The title of the novel might hint towards the plotline.. But i found this love tale and the characters close to my heart. Everything is perfectly penned. Everything is not a fairy tale..with a powerful story and a strong narrative author has brought an amazing novel. Do invest time to know the faith of Juhika and Samar.

Engaging

Cursed" by Ruchi Singh is a combination of two tales from different eras.
The epic story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta, who shared an eternal tie is one.
In the present, a billionaire Samar falls in love with the stunning Juhika. Their love story developed over time.
It was interesting how these two stories were connected gradually.
After a tragic accident Samar has Memory Loss.So memories of Juhika are erased.
What happens to their love story?
Well destiny has played its part .
Each story and character was portrayed very well.
The story is medium paced without missing the grip of it.
Though the story seems predictable but it's compelling and engaging at the same time.

Title: Cursed
Author: Ruchi Singh

Review:

“Cursed: An Indian Billionaire Romance (Miracle Book 2)” by Ruchi Singh is a dramatic love story with two distinct yet parallel plots that run across and entwine at themes that watermark the lives of the different characters.

Sprawled over two hundred and ninety two pages, it on one hand captures the much known mythological story of Dushyant and Shakuntala that symbolises the immortality of true love. On the other hand the book brings the modern love between Juhi and Samar whose fate is not much different to that of Shakuntala and Dushyant. The thread that holds Juhi and Samar together is broken by the fatal accident leaving the scars on the body of Samar and erasing the memory of Juhi from mind. Will the cruel test of destiny will separate them or the love will bring them closer than before?

Overall, written in a simple and lucid language with strong characters and engrossing plot, Cursed is an absolutely riveting love saga epitomising the power of love and keeping the readers hooked till the end.

Would recommend it to everyone!

The cursed is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand alone book. The story first tells us of King Dushyant and Shakuntala's story but in current day too an incident takes place with our main characters. Now will they meet up again once separated that is for you to read and find out.

The narration of the story is beautiful and engaging. The characters were really well written. The cover picture attracted me the most. There were interesting twists and turns to make it more interesting.

The language used is simple and adequate vocabulary and attractive writings are found in the book. The powerful language used in the book is also dealt with care.

What sets any book apart for me is how it makes me feel. As a book blogger reading back to back books can numb you emotionally and at such times if I come across a book like Cursed by Ruchi Singh, it's a much needed reprieve.

The book follows the love story of Juhika and Samar. Samar has come to Rishikesh for a college festival. He is an exceptional musician. And he wants to study piano under the tutelage of Mr. Acharya. During his sojourn he bumps into Juhi and then begins the chase to win over her heart. However, the love story is short lived because upon returning to Mumbai, Samar meets with an accident and that reverses everything for Juhi. ©

Eversince I read the first book of the Miracle series I wanted to read more by the author. However, I must say Cursed one was equally great like the first one.

Wow 4.25, I wasn’t expecting to like this book so much, I was so ready to have an easy peasy cheesy rom-com reading but I got: emotions are everywhere, heart wrecking second chances of traumatized, struggling two beautiful soul’s story and I adored, devoured, savored and finally found my juicy romance STARS! Amen to that!

I'll say this one is really good

What I liked the most was that Cursed can be read as a standalone book.

I'm sitting here with tears running down my face having just finished this book. I know I should probably let my emotions settle before reviewing but I want to get all the feelings down...

Firstly I want to say that the cover does not do this book justice. It gives the impression of a bland and fluffy read when in reality this is a lovely story, with subject matter that people can relate to.

The characters begin as likeable, yet maddeningly realistic.

I enjoyed the first person POV, and the odd change in character thrown in stirred the narrative nicely for me.

This is the second book of the Miracle series but it can be read as a stand alone and I must say Ruchi Singh had again penned her book beautifully. This story is beautifully curated. And this story is connected with the story of Shakuntala and here it was beautifully penned that how the history repeated itself in story of Juhi and Samar. The plot picks a high pace after that, each event leads to another. But will they have a happy ending like Dushyant and Shakuntala?
Well, the modern story had been penned in a completely different manner which adds a different flavour to the story.
The language is fluent as well. I always admire authors who use easy language for everyone to read and interpret, Ruchi Singh is one of those. With time this series becoming more and more interesting. I liked the fact that the story is intriguing, at the same time, mind blowing.

Impeccable & Amazing Adaptation

I loved the modern version of the eternal love story of Shakuntala and Dushyant. The author has absolutely made justice as compared to the epic one. The story is superbly written and the characters are very well developed. The feelings and the emotions of the main characters Juhika and Samar are very beautifully captured. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would love to read more modern day adaptions of the mythological tales from this author.
Kudos to the author her exceptional work.

This book explores love in many different ways. A couple Juhi and samar fell in love at a very young age. But fate happened and samar met with an accident which woped away his memory of Juhi.

How will they find their paths again?

A parallel run story runs in the background and the author has brilliantly intertwined both these stories and has created a sense of Awe in me.

The writing style and the plot is very good and the book is very interesting. It is fast paced and intriguing.

I'm a 4th sem English Literature student and this semester we have Abhijananshakuntala by Kalidasa. I've yet to read it but imagine my surprise when I read the synopsis of this book.

The author has blended an epic ancient drama, which is also considered to be India's greatest literary work after maybe Mahabharat, with modern day India.

The story of curse of shakuntala is known by everyone even if they haven't read the book.

Cursed by Ruchi Singh is a self-explanatory title of you know the tragic love story between King Dushyant and Shakuntala.

The story follows these two into their modern selves who experience loss and pain and then find love but only to separate again.

The writing is easy to read. And for me it was a bonus study lesson for this semester.

💕Cursed by Ruchi Singh is the second book in “Miracle Series”. A contemporary retelling of Indian mythological tale of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, I adored this dual story line set in two time spans book 😍👍🏻

💕When I heard about this next book that features the story of the daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra along with a contemporary romance based on their mythological tale, I jumped to read this book. And I am so glad that I did. I adored experiencing this famous Indian mythological love story again with a contemporary romance retelling alongside it! ♥️

💕The writing style is fluid and immersive and the world building is so realistic that it sucked me in and made me a part of the story 👍🏻

💕While I loved the above points, the highlight of this book is the spellbinding way in which the author has connected two storylines across time. She brings a novel concept of running dual storylines -one mythological and the other contemporary in the same book. And in my opinion, she aced this experiment!👌🏻

💕Whether you know the Indian mythological tale of Shakuntala and Dushyant or are new to it, the author has written this book in such a manner that you are guaranteed to enjoy it.

💕I adored revisiting the age old fable of Shakuntala and Dushyant’s love, and equally adored reading about Juhika and Samar.

Both Juhi and Samar are relatable characters with their own challenges and desires. Coming from different backgrounds, I loved how they connected.

Their love story had me so invested that I cried, laughed, sighed, and felt a plethora of emotions along side them. 😍

➡️I loved reading this #contemporaryromancenovel and #njkinnyrecommends it to all #romancebookreaders and #mythologicalfiction lovers 👍🏻

Love has its own colours to paint the canvas of your life. Reading every love story opens a new dimension Which I cherish and relish with every romance read added in my library.
So here we have Juhika and Samar, two distinct individuals who are brought together by destiny. Encountering each other in those unpredictable circumstances didn't lead them to imagine falling head over heals with each other.
So what happens when the two meeting and separating by the terms of destiny. Will the magic of music bring the broken chords together and mend the hearts to a happily ever after. Read and enjoy this beautifully written love story by author Ruchi Singh.

I love reading romantic books and Cursed by Ruchi Singh is one of them.
I loved Juhika’s character. Her love for Samar Singh Rajput is so immense that she sacrificed her bright future to wait for him. With time she accepted that Samar has forget her permanently and never going to come again into her life.
She continued living her life in Rishikesh, a small town in India with loved ones who continuously supported her.
Did Samar return to her life?
Did she ever move on in her life?
To discover the secret of Juhika’s life, I will recommend Cursed, a romantic read on your Kindle Unlimited.
