This was easily the worst thing I've ever read. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The entire thing felt like it was written by a 12 year old majorly horny little girl who feels excited by the idea of a mafia plot and put it on wattpad. Actually- this book is a disgrace to wattpad, and that's saying something 😭.

Everybody was unnecessarily aggressive and childish saying "fuck" every two words and shooting at ANYONE AND EVERYONE. Not to mention the 'enemies to lovers.' He hated her cause a flower he gave her fell out of her pocket when she was younger 😐 and she hated him cause he hated her. The characters were so hot and cold, literally saying how much they hated each other and then having sex the next minute, then back to hating each other.

And the plot twist at the end?! what the fresh hell :/ The author killed the love interest only to conveniently BRING HIM BACK when the mc was grieving. BESTIE?? HE WAS IN A COMA for 6 years! She was at his grave and everything 😭

I want a refund of my time and I want to unread this.

got this an arc and honestly i’m really disappointed

i’m not the biggest fan of dark romance but i do enjoy it every once in a while. this book however was the epitome of immature characters and flawed plot lines. the main characters are family friends but hate each other because the girl dropped the flower the guy gave her WHEN THEY WERE FIVE YEARS OLD. like cmon there are better ways out there to start an enemies to lover plot.

also, the writing is just so immature like it felt like i was reading 10 year olds talk. the plot also jumps so many times. it goes from them hating each other to them having to get married to each other (which was so random) to the girl getting kidnapped and saved by her enemy in the weirdest way ever to them living a blissful married life only for the mc to get shot and go into a coma. also let’s talk about the fact that sir was in a coma for 6 years so everyone was just like oh well he’s dead but then his parents were like nah we’re just not gonna tell anyone that he’s still in a coma induced state. also let’s have the girl mc have a baby?? and when she’s grieving about the guys death 6 years later, let him randomly come out and be like sup girl still alive af ????

also, there’s a gala where they get awards? like okay add new elements to your dark romance novels but like maybe make it seem like they’re actual dangerous people and not just people who know how to fight.

1st: omfg i literally love this book so much. i’ve probably read it 4 times and it never gets old.

2nd: i did not like it. idk how much of a difference there was from before but clearly this one wasn't as good or i was not reading it properly or something.
there is a difference between being a baddie and just being plain rude. thalia was so rude to everyone throughout the entire book for no good reason. if anything she thinks that the entire world revolves around her. she also really needed to be humbled through the entire book and really needed a reality check. for a while it seemed like she hated alex for his fuckboy behaviour WHICH SHE WOULD NOT SHUT UP ABOUT. alexander didn't stick out. he wasn't boring but he was like every other guy in a mafia book. there wasn't anything special about him.
this book got a new problem like every 2 chapters. there wasn't one plot. instead there was like 4 SO IT DIDN'T EVEN SEEM LIKE THE BOOK HAD A PLOT SOMEHOW. AND THE 'ENEMIES TO LOVERS' MADE ME WANT TO RIP MY HAIR OUT. they hated each other over such a stupid and petty reason. a flower and some chickens? really. they went their whole lives hating each other because of that.
and half of the writing was unessecary. like i didn't need to know half the things that were said anyway. it also felt like thalia and alex's entire relationship was based on sex. which isn't a bad thing but personally i would've liked if they had some sort of other chemistry that wasn't just sexual. they were too obsessed with having sex with each other rather than other things LIKE THIER PERSONALITIES which were hardly there. thalia's a bitch and alexander is alexander.
i was so excited to read it and it just disappointed me and put me in a reading slump.

4.5⭐️ i missed reading a steamy romance a lot. i don’t really like mafia romances but this one was really an exception!!! i read it in like 3 hours or so. it was so easy to get through! and the ending was so twisted!! all my thank to the author for sending me a copy!!!!

I wanted to give it a zero, but I could not, so instead I give it a one.

Absolutely horrid. Can we ban TikTok already so we can take away the ability of authors to advertise 30 second clips of their book? I’m telling everyone, DO NOT GIVE IN TO THE THIRTY SECOND CLIP.

I was surprised when this book didn’t originate from wattpad, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is. The writing was terrible. I’m sorry, I’m not an author myself, so I understand that I may not get say in this conversation, but it was just so bad. We don’t need to say the f word every other sentence, and you don’t need to remind me how much Thalia is bugging you. WE GET IT.

And oh my god, could this book keep up with itself?? There was no plot, and this book TRIED. It gave readers three main pivotal subplots of the overall hating each other (spoilers incoming): Russia, marriage, and killian. WHAT WAS THE POINT. THERE WAS TOO MUCH. Please, for the love of god, slow down and pick one.

AND OH MY GOD THE ENDING. What was the ending. It could’ve been so good, although I hate the premise of this sort of ending. It just wasn’t well developed, like anything in this novel.

Was this supposed to be dark romance? While it did have mafia and killing, it was so confusing. Why was there a mafia gala? Why were the characters so unbearable?

Anyways, 1 star (but I’d give it a zero). If you’ve made it this far, I dare you to go back and read my reactions/updates as I read this novel. You’ll die of laughter, or maybe you’ll die while reading this book;)

Terrible!
I went into this book expecting so much, I’m completely disappointed! Not worth reading at all and this is coming from someone (me) who is very easy to please.

The book just left me confused bec it was something one sec and totally different the other sec. And I was like bruhh wait are you even the same person? I couldn’t get the book, bec everything kept flipping in a matter of seconds and not in a good way.
The reason for Alexander to “hate” Thalia was THAT? Like are you kidding me??!
The guy is always smirking, the girl is always rolling her eyes like GIVE ME A BREAKKKK and get straight ahold of your feelings for once, ehhh?

The author’s writing style just didn’t do it for me, sorry.

This was the worst goddamn book i have ever read. It comes close to the cheat sheet and I have very passionate hateful feelings on that book. I can't give this a 0 but if I could, I would. The style of writing was horrific and I felt like I was reading something a horny 14 year old put on wattpad. Jokes I've read better things on wattpad and that's saying something. I can't get over how bad the writing was. The author would write a line then literally say the exact same thing reworded and the explanations (for example explaining the family and the mafia) was SO confusing and I couldn't keep up. I am proud to say I dnf'd this after chapter 6 but I've read so many reviews to see if anyone else feels the same that I know what happens in the end and I can write a review on the whole book. ALSO, in like the first shooting scene, the girl SHOOTS this guy's hand and it says 'WINCES?' I was like miss girl if someone shot me in the hand I would be screaming, crying, rolling on the floor, throwing up and dying. I wouldn't expect someone to wince when getting shot. Also the unnecessary amount of times the characters swore? There's a time and a place and half these times were not it. Anyway apparently the whole enemies to lovers plot is built up on the fact a flower fell out of her pocket when they were five. Like come on. I don't even remember the events of my life when I was five. That is the worst and most disappointing thing I have ever read. If I was in an enemies to lovers trope with my boy bestfriend and he told me the reason he hated me was because a flower fell out of my pocket, I think I would shoot him, cut him up, burn his body and chuck is ashes into the Great Barrier Reef. That is so disappointing. Anyway thank you for letting me vent, this was atrocious, don't put yourself through reading this book.

All honesty, I don’t really care about other ratings or reviews. Even after a re-read, I still love them. Sometimes you’ve gotta read between the lines to love something and that’s exactly what i did (in my opinion) ♡

I loved every second of Thalia & Alexander’s wild and toxic love story. Yeah okay the ending is rushed but I still had a great time. Yeah okay there are grammatical errors. Who cares?! I had fun 🤩

this rating may change or may not idk yet but i just wanna start off by saying THANK YOU JACLIN FOR THE COPY OF THIS BOOK <3 the cover is gorgeous and that i understand how hard it is to write a book all the planning and stuff this book i really did enjoy the plot but not the writing i think the writing was just short like there was a lot of things i wanted to read about in this book like the wedding and things simple to that but we didn’t get any insight on it other then it did happened also it don’t make sense why they even went through with the wedding like all we got was that she walked off then suddenly there was a webbing happening as well as the characters like they hated each other and she literally swore that she wouldn’t beg him or anything like that but then once’s again suddenly she was in love with him same goes for him and then they hated each other again and it want like one of those 2nd or 3third act break up it literally happened within each chapters also i’m not sure how i felt about the characters like don’t get me wrong she sounds badass but like she literally beg right then and there when he said her to do so when she literally said she would be dead first before that would ever happened also alexander can be a total dick dick at times and idk if i could really forgive him for some of the things he did AND the whole i slept with one of my friends bf but i didn’t know yeah was a no for me like really c’mon if you liked it then you do you i won’t judge but it just was a no for me but other than those things the plot twisted near the end was jaw fucking dropping i tell you like i don’t not one bit see that coming at all same goes for the end end like i was furious for no reason and i literally love ace and aria literally sounds like the perfect couple def wanna read their book all in all i think you should try reading this book because although the writing was a bit off (new author after all or maybe it just me) the plot is good

1,5⭐️ what was that? This book felt like a Wattpad story written by a 13 year old. It had sooo much potential because the ideas were good but the writing and execution were just bad and rushed. The characters? Nonexistent personalities. The tension between them? Zero. And he was mad about a FLOWER for 15 YEARS?! Also, If I have to read “Thalia de Luca” or “Alexander” one more time, I will scream. Dear author: pronouns exist, please use them instead of repeating their names EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The end was weird and honestly I only finished reading because I wanted to see how much worse it could get. Lesson learned: don’t trust random Booktok accounts ever again.

I didn’t write a review for this one but I feel like I have to warn the next possible readers. This book made me hate the mafia books… I know hate between two character can begin from a small thing but this small AND in their childhood? I can’t believe it. He was so chill when she was kidnapped for several days or weeks I can’t remember exactly and didn’t even think about rescuing her bc he was “mad”. The end is even worse, he missed the entire childhood of his son and just came back like everything was normal, no special celebration or more than what was in the book. The only time I was satisfied with a scene in this book was when there was sexual tension at the striptease club :)
