This book is really short but it’s really worth it! It’s a go to one whenever we would need a good dose of accessible motivation.
Some very basic truths are given here which we always tend to ignore and forget when it comes to personal growth and leadership.
It may seem like we know what’s best for us but we tend to neglect what’s best for us. Just read this book once and you will realise you are going to go through this book again and again until you find yourself confident enough to be who you want to become.
I find the writing quite thought provoking and action oriented which I feel is necessary for such books.
Moreover, it’s short and doesn’t waste words.

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust
If you want to continue to mature, develop, and maintain your health as you get older, you have no choice but to force yourself out of the confines of your comfort zone. The feeling of being alive and full of new energy is the reward you get for stepping outside of your comfort zone. You will learn things about yourself that you never really knew before after overcoming a challenge. The more you challenge yourself, the more confident and capable you will feel in new situations.
The old adage "Use it or lose it" used to be sufficient, but recent studies have shown that in order to delay or prevent the onset of age-related diseases, we need to keep our brains and bodies active and learn new things on a consistent basis. When you push yourself outside of your comfort zone, you give yourself the opportunity to live a longer, healthier, and more fulfilling life overall.
However, there are a lot of people who will do anything in order to keep living in the same familiar environment. In point of fact, it is estimated that many people never travel more than fifty miles from the location where they were born, and fewer than twenty-five percent of people in the United States possess a passport. Traveling is just one of many activities that can help you step outside of your comfort zone. It is not so much what you do to better yourself as it is the fact that you actually do something to improve yourself. Disruptable: Break Away from Ordinary by Allan Young is a fantastic book that will help you become a better version of yourself by providing you with real-world examples and actionable insights. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me.

This book reached a very deep part in me. I read it just at the moment when I had to make important personal and work decisions, and it really helped me with that. It opened my mind to new opportunities, even if it implies the possibility of "failure" (it is not a bad thing, as it is commonly thought). The path the author proposes is not easy, but worth it!

“Disruptable: Break Away From Ordinary” is the first book I read by author Allan Young, but based on what I read, this won’t be the last one. First of all, I think the book is clear, well organized and well written. Secondly, breaking away from the ordinary is what first caught my attention and the reason why I read the book. And finally, I would like to mention how much I liked the book and why. I liked that the author talks about failure and success as part of our path to get what we want. This book is a guideline on how to embrace your failures and face your fears. While this seems very straightforward, the book is more complex than that. Unlearned our need for instant gratification and challenging ourselves by learning just how gritty we can be. I found the advice the author puts forth to be very insightful. I certainly think that reading this book has helped me break out of my comfort zones and enrich my life with activities I wouldn't have attempted previously.
This book is a motivational book. It emphasizes moving outside your comfort zone, and while one observes and listens, one sometimes moves in a direction that others do not in order to achieve goals. It's a short, but very good, motivational book.
I haven't read a self-help book in ages. My husband picked this one up on a whim at the library so I decided to read it. Few pages into the book, something resonated... so I decided to read further. I'm in my 40s and I am disruptable in more ways than one. So, while I felt the need to put away the book many times... I still read on. I guess this book is wonderful for those who are reading it in their 20s or 30s or who have a fixed mindset. For others, it does have some beautiful nuggets of insights if you are patient with it. My favorite part of the book is its conclusion. If the author had started from there, I think I would have been more hooked!
