A short, kinky and fun novella perfect for the spooky season.
It starts with a Halloween party of three and a supposedly harmless Halloween experiment - summoning a succubus demon, after a couple of bottles of wine and tequila.
No harm playing with chalk salt and candles, right? Or chanting stuff you don't understand around a circle.
Of course no one expects the spell to work or the horned demon summoned to be that drool-worthy. And our little accidental witch might be in for the contract of her life.
This is how her story really kicks off and from here on it's a smutty wild ride. One that involves a certain moment when a witch should eat her own hat, witchy shenanigans and even a bona fide - honest-to-goodness I kid you not - 'horn job'. You're gonna have to read the book to know how that goes down. :D
I liked the plot and loved the demon. He's such a sweet cinnamon roll!!
The writing style seems a bit simplistic, but then it's all told from Isis' perspective and it fits her like a glove. And I have to admit a certain evolution of the succubus species had me really cracking up. After I took a few moments to gather my dropped jaw from the floor. :D
What I'll grumble a bit about is the smut. Or it's logistics to be precise. Because some of the scenes didn't quite add up for me.
But all in all, Hallowin is fast-paced, smutty and fun read, perfect for anyone in search of a little escape from reality. The don't take it serious and enjoy the ride kind of tale.

"Hello, little witch."
Despite the occasional walk across the line into OTT, this was still entertaining and the spice was good! I literally laughed out loud when the friend was like Surprisingly, the worldbuilding around the demons and contracts was actually really engaging, I would almost have read an expanded version of this short!
I’ve never done that, I don’t know how long I will last,” Athanaël said in a rough voice. “Succubae give pleasure, it’s how we feed… Receiving it though… Isn’t often offered in any of our contracts…”
Mmmm give me an incubus any day of the week!
I look forward to reading more in this seasonal series with Meowy Christmas in December!

I received the ARC for this amazing little novella yesterday from my lovely friend Emeline, and it was really fun to read ❤ when I tell you this book was short I mean FLASH short! But although it was very short, the story was no less enjoyable and pretty well structured 👌
It's great for the spooky season since the story itself happens on Halloween ❤ I really liked Athanaël's character and really love his name 🔥 he's funny, gentle and caring, something you wouldn't expect coming from a creature like him 🤣❤ if it wasn't for the horns you'd believe he's human.
" You don't honestly think that I would let anyone answer YOUR summoning? I had to fight any demon who tried to reach you. You're MINE, little witch, and nothing could have stopped me. "
Isis was a funny character, and I believe anyone in her shoes would react the same way towards a being from another world. I genuinely felt heartbroken with her for that small period of time, but it was nice to see she had friends having her back when she was at her lowest.

I received this as an ARC copy thanks to the very sweet author! It’s a 2.5 ⭐️ for me, here’s why:
Likes:
Plot is great! Three friends summoning a sex demon while drunk on Halloween?? Sign me up! The demon is a sweetie and we love a cinnamon roll man.
Dislikes:
The 3 female friends read super young to me, I thought they were teenagers and had some questions. None of them came across as being remotely near much less in their 30s. Could use a good edit because there were some repeated sentences and such throughout. The characters were very one dimensional for me. A novella is short by nature, so I get that it’s hard to really flesh out your characters and get the plot started and resolved all at once but I couldn’t connect with them.
Overall, a very promising plot that feel short of the mark for me. I’d love to see it as a full length piece and the characters have their full moment.

On Halloween night, three friends make a series of bad decisions that end up summoning a succubus for one VERY drunk, very single girl. He can't leave until he's fulfilled a very specific contract, and why would anyone want him to go anyway?
E's halloween novella hit the spot for me in a big way back in October. I needed something I could smash through in an afternoon that would provide the bad decisions, the surprise monsters, and the spice appropriate for the season.
UGH. So good.
She's recently released a second novella in this series for Christmas with more to come and I have been absolutely delighted by the originality and fun of these novellas so far. That being said: this is a novella, so the plot is relatively loose, but it delivers on the tricks and treats, and I'm sure that will continue as we make our way through the holidays with this circle of friends.

3 drunk besties and a summoning circle on Halloween... What could go wrong?
This was a fun book for Halloween and I enjoyed how the demon was a total cinnamon roll towards Isis.
Since it is a novella (16k words), it was hard to completely understand the characters' dynamics, but I did like that they were all over 30 years old. However, I do think that the drunken adventures (egging houses, rearranging outdoor decorations) does read a bit young for 35 year old women. Overall, I did enjoy the camaraderie between the friends.
There were a few editing issues, but this did not affect my review.
Overall, this was a fun, quick, smutty read!

I will start off by saying this novella was NOT what I expected it to be. While in a drunken stupor three women try to summon a succubus. The next morning, one of them realizes they had succeeded. But instead of being an evil demon trying to steal souls., it turned out to be a horny (literally, and metaphorically) thing that seduces the woman who brought it about. I enjoyed the short, succinct chapters that kept the story rolling right along, and the novella was well written with fun characters. But this was anything BUT a Halloween horror story. However, for you romance/smut lovers, this might be an ideal read for this season.

The first in a series of steamy novellas. When you try summoning a demon with your friends, do you truly expect a demon (tall, hot and handsome and with very sensitive horns) to show up? Not really but this is what happens here!! Wild and demonic but also sudden. A bond forged through a contract that only she can control but that soon enough won’t be enough. A spicy and steamy fun read for every witch looking for her own demon at Halloween!!

It is a cute book, definitely a book that would be best read around Halloween (just to put you in the mood). It was definitely fairly lighthearted, but the romance seemed a tad bit rushed (but perhaps since he is a succubae?). It almost gave me the impression of fated partner or opposites attract but given the lack of relationship building it almost seemed forced. Of course this is only my opinion, and I encourage others to read. It's a cute book to read during October nonetheless!

Why was this so short? It was fun, sexy and I can't imagine a better night in than 3 besties deciding to summon an incubus (yes I'm a stickler for mythical lore so he's meant to be an incubus) because their friend needs to get it on asap.
Because it's so short there's not a lot I can say except it's a great little read and you should check it out.
I'm definitely going back and reading more of this series because it was fun, short and exactly what I want to spend my breaks reading.

The book was very short and sweet and the spice was top knotch 🤤 the writing style is very simplistic and a little quirky as we are basically living in Isis' head the whole time. Isis is a fun main character but Athanael was my true love 😉
