When I saw this title and the adorable cover, I couldn't pass it up. It's a sweet, heartwarming story of love and companionship between a kitten and a young girl. The match between Mia and Whiskers was meant to be from the moment they first set eyes on each other, if only Mia will allow herself to love again. In the end, Mia learns that it's not always up to you to choose a special friend, sometimes you don't do the choosing, but find yourself the one special enough to be chosen.
I love this book because it sends an important and heartwarming message: your loved ones who passed away can never be replaced, but it's ok to love again and move on. You are not being disloyal to them by doing that, and they will always have a special place in your heart.
When her best friends cat has kittens, Mia doesn't want anything to do with them after losing her beloved cat recently but slowly Whiskers a white cat becomes her favourite but is she too late to get him?
Showing the pain of losing a pet and the joy of new life and making a new animal friend, this is a book which any pet owner will relate to in some way!
Харесвам такива истории - смислени, емоционални, подходящи да възпиташ у децата отговорност към домашния любимец (и животните като цяло). Допадна ми темата на книгата...
It was such a cute book it even made me have happy tears . Edit: It was crazy because right now its November and in the book it was November, but at the end it was Christmas, BUY THE BOOK, ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE! I'm sorry I screamed its just because I love the book.
Please read my question and answer of this book. And people who work at the library put more books from Holly Webb there because I've read almost all of them.
Gal kiek pertempta istorija, su visomis detalėmis kurių gal kiek per daug, bet čia mūsų antroji autorės knyga ir visvien liekam sušildytomis širdimis 😇
Oh I loved it!! I had to read this based on the adorable cover. And I wasn’t disappointed, such a lovely story about a little girl who learns to love and hope again. 🤍
Why wouldn't anyone want a kitten!? Mia recently lost her beloved kitty, Sandy, and wasn't quite ready to open her heart to a kitten, even when her best friend's cat had kittens.
Based on the cover, I expected this book to be too soft and fluffy, even for me, but I was delightfully surprised! The writing really expressed the sadness of loss and the joys of kittens, and I felt all the emotions along with Mia.
The story is very cat-focused and will appeal to a small audience, and the story was very predictable, but the writing was quality and I will certainly recommend it to my cat-loving students.
Mia is devastated by the death of her cat, Sandy. Everything and everywhere she goes reminds her of him from the amount of cats on the way to school and especially Sandy’s old blanket. But one day she finds out that her friend’s cat, Silky is going to have kittens! Emily is so excited but Mia doesn’t think she can see them. When she does finally visit them she finds out that they actually make her happy. Especially the little white kitten who she names Whiskers. Mia falls in love with him, but can she be brave enough make him her kitten? This kitten tale is very cute. I like how Mia has confront her fears and think about others. I also like how she can have Whiskers and also remember Sandy.
Whiskers the Lonely Kitten by Holly Webb is about a girl named Mia's cat (Sandy) died. Mia was to sad to talk about cats. One day, her best friend Emily's cat had kittens. Mia got over Sandy, and fell in love with one of Emily's kittens(Whiskers). Whiskers would not go with anyone else, but Mia. One day, someone called to adopted Whiskers. Mia's heart dropped. Little did she now, her grandmother arranged things with Emily's mother to adopted the kitten. I recommend this book to anyone who loves cats and realistic fiction.
A really lovely story about children and pets. Talks about pet loss (aged cat) in the beginning and then explores the girls journey to coping with grief and loss and being able to love a new kitten.
okay so I'm counting this as a winterween 2022 prompt 3 snow on the cover.
my little sister doesn't read often but when she does she likes to read aloud and to me. so what ever book she wants to read me I listen.
mia has recently lost her beloved orange cat named sandy. Mia is of course very sad about this and her friend Emily's cat snowball has four kittens and a white little boy cat which Mia names whiskers. this whole time she is say no I don't want a cat. but she does, and in the end she get the cat.
This was so boring. The whole story could have been told in one small chapter. A girl's cat died so she was too sad to want another cat. Then she fell in love with her friends new kittens and her parents adopted it for her before someone else could. Now she owns a cat. So...basically a girl just got a new kitten. That's not a story.
Cute children story about getting over losing a pet and getting emotionally ready for a new one. I loved the teaching at the end not to get pets as presents and if you really want a pet - to adopt. There are many pets searching for a home and love. Also to understand (especially children) what responsibility a pet is and to think carefully before taking the decision.
A cute children's story about the grief of losing a beloved pet and the courage to love again. Great messaging wrapped up in an adorable narrative.
Whiskers's personality reminded me a lot of my own beloved cat who died a few years ago, so I obviously fell in love with him right away. And Mia's experiences and feelings are relatable, even though I’m several decades older than her.
I love these books, beautiful stories about animals. When I was younger I would draw the animals on these book’s cover. These are lovely stories, and I recommend them for 7+.
