This volume tells less of a story, and moreso provides a denouement for the three books (or just the anime, if you skipped here like me). It's mostly about the politics of the world, the implications of what the characters have done before this impacting the world around them, more relationships forming, more characters arriving who will be more important later. Nothing much happens really. It's mostly cute moments interspersed with dozens of pages of characters talking about how they don't actually hate each other but their position in life has forced them to be opposed. I'm mostly hoping the next volume sets up something far more interesting in this.

HOWEVER, this book does have the two leads actually have sex, so for that I'm gonna have to call this peak fiction.

Après leur décision de faire hériter le trône à Euphie, nos 2 héroïnes négocient avec le Ministère de l'Arcane pour apaiser les tensions tandis qu'Anis fait découvrir la Magicologie à ses deux nouveaux assistants.

C'était... ok. J'aime bien les passages romantiques, mais je n'en avais pas grand chose à faire des moments politiques que j'ai trouvé assez plats.

On y retrouve un soucis un peu similaire au volume précédent : il y a une nouvelle romance qui est certes le meilleur chapitre du roman (moment fort et intime tout ça tout ça, Lainie bébou), mais ça tombe un peu de nulle part et c'est un peu étrange. Et encore une fois j'ai rien contre le fait d'un ship Ilya/Lainie en soi mais là pour le coup ça sort vraiment de nulle part et on dirait que c'est un peu casé au pif. C'est mieux que d'avoir des personnages qui se tournent autour pendant 25 volumes mais bon, y'a ptet un équilibre à trouver aussi haha.

MagiRevo est une série... surprenante en l'état. J'avais beaucoup aimé l'animé, et le LN n'a pas été l'expérience à laquelle je m'attendais.
Il n'y a pas beaucoup de vraies péripéties (et honnêtement souvent elles sont peu intéressantes), le rythme est bizarre et le traitement des romances aussi...
... Mais la série bénéficie quand même de moments forts et sincères au niveau des émotions et des ressentis des personnages, en particulier lorsqu'ils s'ouvrent aux autres.
Aussi un peu étrange cette série qui parle d'une révolution culturelle mais hyper centrée sur une famille royale super sympa et où y'a so far aucun personnage vraiment issu du peuple mais eeeeh c'est comme ça c'est pas très grave.

Moi qui me demandais si Anis et Euphie cachaient leur relation... eh bien plus maintenant lul.

This LN was a bit more difficult to read, particularly in the middle with all the politics with the Ministry. However, there were some FANTASTIC relationship developments that actually made me gasp out loud in pure joy. I honestly would have been fine just reading those sections instead of the middle portion.

What I found ironic about this LN was that there was a whole portion dedicated to talking about why books written by the nobles were wordy, extremely descriptive, and difficult to understand. It almost felt like this LN was channeling that… was that intentional? If that were the case, good on the author!

Solid

An interesting follow up of the previous volume's events but it felt, in parts, like a series of loose ends being tied up more than a coherent story

It felt sort of like a really long epilogue at times but in a way that felt like a sunsetting on the current story than the entire series as a whole

Excited for any possiblr future volumes though

I dislike politics in real life and that is the part of this series that I like the least, but I love the crafting of magical tools and the interactions of the characters that I really love.

Quería continuar un poquito más con mis niñas. Y la verdad q me ha entretenido mucho, quiero ver que les depara ahora con Euphylia de reina.

The volume starts with Euphy and Anis in the same bed ready to face the day together. Things have finally settled somewhat after the declaration at the end of volume 3, but now it is time to work on making it all a reality. The Arcane Ministry though is not making things easy, and those around the two are caught up in the maelstrom of change as well most notably Lanie and Ilia.

For me it was a solid addition to the series with some very good character development which is what the volume was about: character interaction with no action to speak off. For me it is also a good thing to see that the world building gets some serious attention were people do not just accept change and not just because of black-hearted reasons (which not say it does not exist as we saw in volume 2) in this case the people of the Ministry. It also always good to see progress both for the characters and the world which in some (many?) light novels is very much not the case.

As in earlier volumes sometimes the talking and personal interactions become a bit too melo-dramatic for my taste, most notably the interaction between Lanie and Ilia which got a few too many pages for my taste, although not to the point of truly lessening my enjoyment and obviously that is mostly on me. It made sense for their personalities and if you like that kind of interaction/character development even of side characters it would probably a positive for you. I am just not a fan of switching points of view. I also find some of the tool development going a bit too easily for this kind of story (one that focusses more on the drama than being a light-hearted tale) or Lumi's sudden appearance/disappearance a bit too convenient even if it is just for advice.

Still, it was a good read and I am still thoroughly enjoying this story. Up to next volume.
